My intension for this thread is simple.
A lot of people want to get a launcher without blinkfeed.
With this thread i want all talented people to collaborate to get this job done.
There for i setup a SVN for those who want to commit to this collaboration.
I hope this will be a nice and welcome collaboration.
And hope that there will be a lot of support for this project to make it available for all our users...
Source files:
Thx to Baadnewz for sharing
Source files are from a HTC DNA Sense 5 beta leak
This leaked version has a HomePersonalize.apk which contains a toggle option disable BlinkFeed
And ofcourse a Prism.apk to match.
You can push these files ontop of our M7 files but somehow the launcher gets borky overtime.
No wonder since they aint meant for our roms.
My amended Prism.apk:
I also put in the Prism.apk from our currently used 4.2.2 rom.
I got it working and running it without issues all day.
But my smali skill aren't that good.
So there is a lot of bloat coding in there which are from the DNA source it self.
I had to put them in since it got a lot of fcs on compiling.
Didn't had the knowlegde to find the culprit and to make my life easier is copy and past them over aswell.
The aim:
So the aim is to get a fully compatible native Prism with with the option to disable the blinkfeed as seen in the homepersonalize.apk of the HTC DNA leak.
SVN:
If you want to colobrate to this project and will send you the invite for the SVN.

Just replying here, cause this is discussable:
How about packing the edits into an xposed module? Once we have the needed edits in a clean manner it could be done. Note that I say this without me having a chance to look at the code yet. But I already did some xposed mods (mostly unreleased stuff as of now), and I really like the conecpts behind it. This would also enable us to have a more universal mod, that can be more easyily ported to newer bases.
Edit: Or maybe as a second setp...

I have no expierance with xposed for now.
But i think xposed could be a easier way.
But my opinion is to get it also available as semi native

Seem like it...
I don't care who did it first, not looking for credits or who is first.
I just wanted this to be shared...
I know mine is working and already post it to my rom svn 7 hours ago.
I can't verify which source he used.
Also check the thread date and time, almost the same
So we have two working mods now.
Thats just great

Now I am working on the way can let users select which way they want to
either with blinkfeed or no blinkfeed select from the home personalize
Without blinkfeed, acts like sense4+..

The for the correction
(Beamed from my Elegancia powered HTC M7 using XDA Premium)
Took a quick look at this but couldn't really be assed at this time of night (1:30am - I will look more into it tomorrow).
What I think you can do is use the Butterfly files (including Prism.apk) but you need to replace the values for the common resources with the ones from the M7.
For example you would have to find 0x2080001 in the com.htc.resources.apk of the Butterfly ROM, find what it corresponded to then find the new value in the M7 com.htc.resources.apk file.
Instead of trying to remove from the ROM, why should you intend to modify the Blinkfeed source for user friendly customization option ? that's will be more appreciated
I'll be watching this with great interest. I'd much prefer Flipbook to Blinkfeed, but most ESPECIALLY if it's an Xposed mod.

It is possible to say exactly what to change in prism and homepersonalize to remove blinkfeed?
I want to remove blinkfeed once for all.

Referring to the thread linked earlier, you have to replace the stock 'prism.apk' with the modified version. The problem is that you'll have to do so every time you flash an update, which is why an Xposed mod is preferred.

ARHD is a stock rom so.. is not a problem.
I want to do well but he has no guides yet.
There is no guide nor a solution yet for the HTC ONE Prism.apk
Thats why i opened this thread to get it working with a stock HTC ONE Prism.apk
The Prism.apk provided with the non Blinkfeed is partial M7 and Butterfly.
In the Butterfly version you easily edit the protection.smali and this disables the Blinkfeed.
But with our stock M7 Prism.apk it doesn't work.
There is something missing and i don't know what is missing.
Code:
.method public static isFeedEnabled()Z
.locals 1
.prologue
.line 6
const/4 v0, [COLOR=Red]0x1[/COLOR]
return v0
.end method
0x1 is with blinkfeed
0x0 is without blinkfeed
But i'm considering closing this thread since there is no interest.
Interest is here, sorry. I was on vacation... Still didn't get the SVN invite.
I still want to have this mod in a xposed module. If you want to close it, no problem, I'll look into it nonetheless. Demand is there...

HK Version flash Rom,Stuck the second screen。。。
were you able to edit out the "AT&T" logo in the framework? I noticed in the screenshots, you left in the annoying 4G logo (which i guess is fine assuming you are connected to 4G)
My Future hopes someone mods that framwork to show H when connected to HSPA+ and L when connected to LTE (right above the signal bars)
Does tethering work 'out of the box' on this ROM?
Can you include the extended power menu/3-dot removal/button remap mod to this ROM please?
Also, if you could it would be nice to have the LTE toggle that is included in the Rogers and Asia roms

Suggestion: Remove AT&T boot animation and the automatic attwifi network for the wifi settings.
I loaded it up, but the tethering does not work. It still says contact AT&T or 611 to enable tethering.
EDIT: I followed the instructions from another post to modify the telephony database and now tethering works. I'm not sure if that can be baked into the ROM though.
Well that was easy lol...

IMHO, smoother but lacks the mods. Basic in the fact that its basic Sense 4 with no mods.
First time I ever got LTE Toggle to work properly too!
Once I get mods rebuilt for this base I will update the CleanROM Standard to this base.
For now, its just a cleaned up tweaked ROM with no additional mods.

No, thats de-odex. The Stock Rooted Deodex ROM I posted does seem to work with the unfinished CoreDroid port I have.

For your first custom ROM, I'd pick something a bit more modified than this. This is just a stock ROM.
Pick another such as a Team Nocturnal one, CleanROM, King Cobra etc. They have the extended quick settings, advanced power menu etc....mods that improve user experience ten fold.

Turge had to produce a 1.4.1 patch for his ROM to fix some FCs and also a Social-Network-Friendstream patch - so a few little gotchas with the ROM I guess. You could probably look at his patches to get a sense of the fixes.

Yeah this base has the camera fix by HTC
Dev Edition Firmware is known to work well with AT&T, therefore it should be set to go for any curious AT&T users out there (I currently do, and plan on flashing later tonight.)
As well, OP, if you don't mind I'm gonna look at odexing system apps for ease in theming, if you don't mind. Great work!

OMG. FLEX!
Used Stock with goodies on previous devices. So glad you are supporting this device. Downloading @[email protected]
I will say that after flashing on AT&T and updating with AT&T files, I get an "Unauthorized Device" error and it prevents anything from working. Gotta dig through and figure out what's goin on and what's causing the error
uploading a new update to google drive for testing
this should enable the rom to work on most carriers including ATT
need some testers

Can this rom with my one m9 UK?
If someone wants to test this, I removed the am/pm from the status bar. If all goes well and that works, I'll begin modifying a lot of things.
Note: I don't have a flashable zip for this, so reboot into recovery and manually place it in /system/priv-app/systemui. I deodexed this file, therefore you should delete the .odex file in system/priv-app/systemui/arm. If that doesn't work, keep the .odex file. Goes without saying,: I'm not responsible for breaking things, make a backup, etc. etc. You all know what you're doing, I'm just modding blindly in class right now and can't test. Anyway. Let me know.
As well, I modified the height of the navbar to make it smaller, working on fixing the gap issue in the dialer. I'll upload the framework later.

Hello XDA!
I've been watching HTC One a9 Android Development since I got my a9 in November. Once I got it unlocked and started looking for a rom to suit my needs I realized: there weren't any. I've worked on building a custom Sense based (but Senseless ) rom for about a month now. As there are very few roms for the a9 (CM being the only one I know for sure about) I decided to share. Due to my incredibly low post count I'm not allowed to post in the development thread (mods / admins, please move this to a9 Android Development if possible, if it is not allowed here my apologies)

Using Vaiarom is done AT YOUR OWN RISK!!
Vaiarom requires an unlocked bootloader and s-off.
Vaiarom is designed for hiaeul, though I'm sure converted devices (like mine) as well as supercid devices will work.
Jeremy Vaias (me) will not be held responsible for any problems that might arise when installing Vaiarom.
I worked on this in my spare time and do not have the abilities (yet) to create something more wonderful.
That said, this is my contribution to the community.
Vaiarom is my take on HTC's version of Android. In need of a more 'open' operating system I've removed almost everything from Google and quite a few HTC apps. Gone is the Play Store - replaced by the FDroid repository. Likewise most of Google's default apps have been replaced with alternatives from the FDroid repository.
Apps
SuperSU
Busybox
AdAway
Catapult
QKSMS
OpenVPN

Yes the stock messaging app is removed. It can be added to the zip before install or installed afterward. This is built on the US Unlocked version of the base software. Build number has been added to thread title.

I highly doubt anyone will develop anything for this device on the 6.0.0 base. Sunshine is a worthy investment.

I'm not paid by sunshine, I had to pay them to be able to update my phone to 6.0.1.
Idk if you know about this, but I found your op pretty much copy pasted to this website http://www.iraq99.com/vb/t10596599.html

Hello. I am trying it. But i can not open Personize under Settings. So i can not enable Hide Nav Bars.
What is the Name of the Lockscreen which you have integrated?
I'm pretty sure Personalize not working is a direct result of removing something related to Sense home. The lockscreen is just android's built in version. All I did was remove the HTC lockscreen. I'm going to attempt to get this working with an aroma installer so that everyone can keep (or remove) whatever they'd like.
