The Motorola X has an amazing feature: flip the phone will show a minimalistic notification area which can easily be accessed nu pressing the middle of the screen.
I was wondering if there is an app that copies this feature.

There are many Custom Locker Apps. Look for MIUI App, It allows to go directly to Call Records / Inbox / Home Screen

Just to clarify, you're talking about a sense rom and when you unlock it you want it to show your different screens?

Every time I receive a text message my screen doesn't turn on. It just plays the tone and them I have to push the power button and go from there.
Is this normal??

htc decided to combine them and I have no clue why.
Not on the HTC rom. Not sure why this decision was made but it was a rather boneheaded move. I work around it with Tasker to intercept the notification and then set volume to whatever I need it. I the merging of the volumes is most problematic at night where most people want the phone to ring but I not notify

my solution to that is I just turn off auto sync at night
I just don't let the apps that I don't want to ring, like Gmail and Facrbook, off.
