Hi All,
I'm hoping someone can help me. I tried another forum but never heard back. There are a couple of problems. I received an unlocked HP iPAQ 510 Voice Messenger for Christmas 2007. I can't find any information on fixing this or a fix for this.
When I am on the phone talking to someone, they can hear that I’ve received a message (voice, text, etc). They can hear reminder sounds and that I’ve missed calls. It just keeps on playing right out of the speaker. We just have to wait for it to play out. It doesn't matter if the call is on Normal, Outdoor, or Vibrate. The other party and I can still hear that a message or alert has come through. I did stumble onto an option under Settings>Accessibility. I can change the In-Call Alert Volume from 0-5. I won't hear the alert while on the phone if I set the profile to Silent or if I adjust the In-Call Alert Volume to 0. I would like a way to hear a regular beep and for the other caller to hear nothing. You know... as though I am using some other phone that works properly. I hate having to go back and forth changing my profiles. It must be HP related or something. My friend has an iMate sp5m and this doesn’t happen to them. We even compared our registries. I’ve not stumbled onto this in various forums.
Also, for incoming calls, I’ve chosen a ringer of my choice. When I answer the call, it stops playing this ringer sound immediately. I would like the same to happen for my messages. When I receive any type of text message, upon checking the message, the sound should cease. It is not doing this. How can this be fixed? Now after checking the forums, it seems that there is no real way to do this regardless of if it is Windows Mobile 5 or 6. However, I figured I'd ask or I could've missed something.
I chatted with HP a couple times and they had me do a master reset a few times. This didn’t help it. I called the repair number and they sent me another phone. I received the new HP iPAQ 510 today. It still has the same issue with playing tones while I am on the phone. Is there a registry value or something that I am missing?
I haven’t done much within the registry of this phone. I have completely unlocked the phone using SDA Application Unlock and changed a couple policy values.
Begging for help,

Thank you for your reply and confirmation on the text message issue. Also, I turned on the loudspeaker while on a call. I sent a message and took it off and sent one as well. We could still hear the tone. You mentioned that you have or had a 514. Does this issue I'm describing when on a call sound familiar to you? I may have HP send me a 514 (if there are less issues) or maybe I'll look at getting an HTC Touch Dual or a S730. Of course I'll have to research them more.

Well Iv never Recieved a text message during a call so i dont knw rather get a touch dual it beta da HP
I have to write code to block incoming call notification in Windows Mobile 5.0. I have read on various forums that it can be done by pausing the threads cprog.exe process. But despite pausing all the threads, the notification is still persistant. Please help urgently.
Do you only want to block notifications or the calls themselves? There is a program called Call Firewall that might help you.
Hi
I would like to to the same thing:
if someone calls the number of my devices, I want to suppress the "incoming call notification" and accept the call with an own application.
Acception the own stuff should work very good, but the notification coming from the operating system is annoying.
Any ideas?
thanks in advance for a clue,
regards

I need to do both in different situations. Can you please tell me how I can do that using TAPI? Specifically, how can I monitor a line and get the handle to an incoming call, so that I can check the caller's number and act accordingly?
Would you suggest the best call filter software? Setting profiles with call and sms filtering (no ring, no wake up, directly delete calls and sms of specified users when active)?

Uhmmm not really... it notifies me when I receive a call... And anyway it's not possible to set profiles with group of rules... Or multiple action (sms AND call filtering) for the same number in the same rule.
After trying it better I have to say that I was wrong... this program rocks! Thank you
Good news...
That's what I'm really needing.
Gonna try it right away.
Thanks.

If you search in the Development and Hacking threads on XDA there is a tool called, IIRC, Call Firewall, which might be what you are looking for.
Use this tool to search http://www.google.com/advanced_search?q=+site:http://forum.xda-developers.com&hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all

Looks like it simply rejects the call. If that is the case, the caller will be sent to my voicemail and I still have to delete it afterwards.
Call Bouncer is better. It accepts the call and hang up. No voicemail.
However, there is a problem I think would appear in all these programs. At times, I got a ring (or half a ring) before it is caught by Call Bouncer. I found this rather annoying.
Is there any apps out there that silents selected incoming calls instead of rejecting them?
Sometimes I don't want them to know I'm rejecting their calls, just that I wasn't around to receive them.

I have the impression that pocket call bouncer has an option to reject (accept and hang up) or ignore (turn of ringing). Give it a try. I've used it on HD2 but I don't like it because at times the phone rings once before the bouncer can take action.
Magicall does all that. It can:
1) reject (send to voicemail)
2) drop
3) pick up and hold
4) ignore (no ringing is sounded while caller keeps waiting)
5) handle incoming SMS
You can also set it to automatically send SMS to callers.

my most excellent buds.. the programs are all reactive stuff.. something has to happen for the programs to do something.
If you really want to let the person think you just didn't pick up his call, then just simply copy a silent ringtone and use it as a custom ringtone for the person... you'll never "hear" from him/her again.
And.. it just takes 30s to turn off voicemail.. I mean, you wouldn't want the person to wonder why is it that you have voicemail and he/she wasn't diverted there?

No worries...I'm using Callblock now and it works great....
Just replying moooxooom's statement that we should use a silent ringtone for all callers. Sometimes it takes just a little bit more thinking to capture all the usual scenarios.
Cool call management app - my recommendation
I use HTC Diamond 2 and recently came across a cool call management and call blocking app XBLOCKR. I first downloaded the Lite version from Microsoft Marketplace and was quite impressed. It has a great feature "Do Not Disturb" and alas it is not available in the Lite version that I was using. I contacted them through their website as they sell it for $ 19.95 which I feel is a reasonable price, but thought of bargaining
They gave me a code and I purchased it for $ 14.95.
It's a great app if anybody is looking for something different than call blocker apps. It gives you options to handle your call when it arrives as well you can pre-program. I am very happy having it on my Diamond. Check it out as they have a 100 call trial version with all the features.

The readme for Call Bouncer states that it ignores the same as Call Firewall does, this sending the caller over to your voicemail. The developers site for it is at http://www.ipocketpc.net/applications/Category32-Utilities.aspx (scroll down to it) to see if this is the same Call Bouncer you are talking about.
Best Call Managers
Hi
Check this one out http://www.pocketx.net/products/photocontactspro_ppc/
Allows you to set call management individually or in groups. Can set timed profiles. I rate this as one with the most variety of options
Hey guys,
I've looked everywhere but I really haven't been able to find a solution to this problem. I've signed up for a service called AED alert which we have here in the Netherlands. You get a text message whenever there's a resuscitation going on near your house/work place. I've been trying to install a custom ringtone so I can keep my phone on silent except for when it's a resuscitation alert. I know you can do this with contacts with actual numbers. The problem is that AED alert doesn't have a number as it's sent from a server. All these custom sms tones are number based. Is there any way I can work around this?
thanks in advance
Mathew
I do hope the question is clear enough?
