It's FREE and NO ADs!
You can get it on Google Play
or download the attachment directly.
I only tested on HTC sensation with CM 9.1 ROM, I think there're some bugs on different devce, so If you have some problems or suggests, please reply here, I'll fix it as soon as possible.

If you find some problem, please post here.

A few things after just try the app: the interface is nice,a little too rainbow there, but good looking, so far no problems; the bar in the bottom is taking precious space, could the settings and exit buttons be somewhere else?? Top bar should be less polluted also.
Overall this app was everything we expect from a file manager:thumbup:

I installed the app on CM7.2 on Galaxy Ace I. I really like the app, but i faced some FCs when giving root permission, but still works.
Btw, i really like the UI and it is pretty smooth. My suggestion for the app is to include an option to block the app with a password.
@edit
Never mind, FCs was SuperUser related.

I like it so far. It's quite snappy.
Why is the right door always locked?

Works fast and really well this will be my new default file manager, but can you make the root permissions stick?
Thanks in advance

Exactly!
A LAN SMB client and root explorer options (like setting permissions) would be great too (both are presents on ES File Explorer or Root Explorer).
With these suggestions, for sure it would be my default file manager. :good:

Thanks for your suggest. I'll add the password function in v1.1, and root explorer is already support, you can get root permission on setting by touch "Get root access permission", and if you want to modify file on system, you also need touch "Mount system to read/write".
And something like "LAN SMB client" will support on later version.
Thanks.

Swype for Android 1.5

Newest Version: Believed to be the same version on newer T-Mobile MyTouch 3Gs
Older Version: (uninstall previous version first)
</b>
<font face="verdana">
Oldest Version: Said to work on the Eris
Just installed it and it works on my Hero
1. Download swype here. (if for some reason it downloads as .zip, just change the file extension to .apk)
2. Transfer to your Eris via USB
3. Settings -> Application settings -> Check Unknown sources (You all prob have done this before but my n00b friends had not so I thought I would mention it anyways)
4. Use a file manager program such as Astro File Manager and go to the location you stored the .apk
5. Install
6. After install go to Settings -> Locale & Text -> Check Swype
7. Open any email/text client and hold down the text box and you will get a popup asking what you want for input. Select Swype. You only have to do this once and it will do it for all your programs.
8. Disable Audio Warnings as it seems to give errors as well located at Phone settings -> Locale & text -> Swype
<b>I recommend reading the tutorial. Helped me. This is very sick. I now love one handed emailing and texting as its so simple.
alternative link:
*known bugs*
1) If you do not check "Disable Audio Warnings" in the Locale & Test > Swype Settings you will get repeated force closes.
2) Installing seems to disable the ability to click and hold to delete icons on the homescreen, widgets work fine.
3) There is no option to tap on a word to edit it while in Portrait mode, reports that landscape mode works fine.
[highlight]Mod Edit: No Swype Links Allowed[/highlight]
holy balls i might need to include this in my rom.
Incredile simply put! Thanks ALOT!!!!
i think my mind has just been blown away...
if you get force closes, disable the sounds in the settings... i did until i turned them off
also, doesn't seem like you can select and edit words like it says in the tutorial
thx! It works awesome! except, you can't just hide it when you want to I noticed, like the normal HTC keyboard.

Just saw the Spanish dictionary in there so great.
Man, I was sceptical about swype when I first heard about it, but it is freakin wicked!
I wasn't too sure about this either, but it's growing on me! I'll have to run it through it's paces over the next few days and see how well it works for me. So far so good.
I suggest going through the entire tutorial.
Also, those not sure how to get it running as your default text input, just tap and hold onto a text input place to select the new default, you can always disable swipe at any time by doing the same thing. It doesn't replace anything that I can see, just another app to use.
Thanks for sharing OP!
this just made text input infinitely easier on this phone.
Wow love this so far thanks for the find.
Works great but I get FC when i hold down the backspace button to delete words. Works great if i just tap it but holding it down will always FC
EDIT: Turning off sounds fixed the FC
i used to HATE text input, but now i'm texing everyone i know! my grandmother! my ex-girlfriend! my sister's husband!
its awesome. if your skeptical just try it. (only takes a second to install) its freakin awesome.

[APP] PerApp -- change a few per-app settings

Official release is in Google Play.
PerApp is a simple open source app that lets you set a few settings for individual apps. Specifically as of 1.03:
- orientation
- volume boost (Android 2.3+)
- screen timeout time
- CPU speed [root]
- font size
- input method [root]
I have a pre-release version here, with source code in the repository.
I wrote it because there is one app that I wanted to be able to lock the screen orientation for. I knew there is an app in the Market that does that, but I didn't like a recent review of it, so I wrote my own.
I am sure Tasker does all of this and more, but I prefer to use a simple, small and cheap app.
Only the CPU settings use root.
I posted 0.03 which should work better with the never show notification icon option.
Nice this is exactly what i searched changing the volume of one app.
i dowloadet the version PerApp003.apk start the program and after aktivating it and caling the programm again, my screen rests black and i get after +- 10sec the message: Unfortunately, PerApp has stopped.
any posibility to find a error log that can help to find the problem ?
the error coms on a Samsung Galaxy S 2 on 4.03
sorry for bad english

Yeah, install Android Log Collector, run Per App, and right after the crash go to Log Collector and email me (arpruss at gmail dot com) your log. I have yet to see private stuff in a log, but if you're really careful you can email the log to yourself first, look through it, and then forward it to me.

EDIT: Works great now on gs2 4.0.3 big thx to arpruss
ICS problem fixed, confirmed with user.
I recommend everyone switch to 0.04 as it does stuff The Right Way.
I posted 0.06 which improves an audio boost issue.
I just added:
- CPU min/max speed changing on a per app basis (needs root); you need to go to Menu | Settings to activate it, though.
- Jelly Bean support (needs root, as in JB one doesn't get the READ_LOGS permission without root; on ICS and below root is not needed).
Just put out 0.08, fixing bug in CPU speed adjust.

Great idea!
I made some UI improvements in 0.09. Now in the apps list it shows some info about how apps were customized. Moreover, if you edit defaults, you get an option to reset all apps to default in respect of one of the settings.
Great work!
I suggest separating apps that had their settings changed from the ones with the default settings or puting them on top for easy access...
A change log in the OP would be appreciated as well.
Thanks!
color me impressed. I've been using tasker to do such things but I'd like it in a seperate app, especially if I can export those settings later (apply them to other phones maybe?)

Does the volume boost work the other way around and can you use it on system apps? I'd really like to lower the volume of incoming facebook messages and the camera shutter since it doesn't seem to be affected by changing any sounds except for silent mode.

Thats what i ment. If you just Change the flag to hidden then it's not really a good way to hide a file.
Manipulate the Fileheaders, Compress it using a custom compressor, encode the raw-data and decode it by opening the app or on the fly using intentservices/asynctasks/whatever.
The app perform brilliantly at the moment. Please don't sacrifice performance while adding more complex ways of hiding files. Anything worth hiding or encryption is best served with manual approach by me and this app is excellent for casual effective ease of use needs.
Just the app I was looking for. Thanks for sharing.

No Problem. If you Need help doing that let me know. I have done similar stuff to encrypt files.
The user may secure it's device with a Password or you use the IMEI/UniqueID as Salt and sha1() the Bytes. It's easy as that.
Good job
My problem has been solved. Thanks for quick support. Good job.

I'm preparing the update for production
please be patient
- v 1.1
Remove dropdown menu (it causes multiple crashes on some devices) and move to settings
So you are not going to add more features ?
We (XDA frnds) are looking for a better gallery app. Mainly a replacement for quickpic.
It will be great if you add more features.
You can check that thread here https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...ickpic-v4-5-2-classic-version-t3204543/page29
That quick update fixes the flashing for me. I just wish there was the option to have a folder view when opening the app. Some of my folders have lots of photos so it appears I have to scroll down a lot to get to the next folder. Nice though
Any chance of having a show hidden folders toggle/excluding certain folders. I have quite a large comic collection in one of my apps that shows up in gallery apps without me excluding the folder.

I'm also searching for a QuickPic alternative. This looks promising. I wish you good luck.
Also looking for a good alternative to QuickPic.
I have a folder with 7000+ images in it, and this app seems to crash when I select anything in it.
Very nice app. I'm digging the super minimalism for sure! I am however getting constant force closes upon opening it. Wont let me do anything with the app. Any ideas?
Nice one
Please add timeline mod and use two finger gesture to rotate image.
Nice and really promising work, man!!! Waiting for some features (basically the option to show/hide folders) too, so I can finally get rid of the old Quickpic.
Version 2.0 is up:

- Added a bunch of themes

This is fantastic and really useful. I thought there would have been a discussion thread about this? I just wanted say thanks and also ask why the icons went from normal size in v1.3.9 to super magnified in v1.4, will there be a way to change this? Also I can't seem to navigate the new app information options very well, there are no highlight changes in the menu when you move up and down. The screenshot looks very different

Honestly, I don't remember what the size of the icons were in version 1.3.9
If there's a popular request I could add an option to choose the size.
Can you add a screenshot with how the context menu looks in your device? What version of Android TV are you using?
@easyjoin after some more testing I found that App Launcher v1.4 works fine and displays the same as your screenshot.
There seems to be a glitch that occurs when launching the app after install, confirmed on multiple devices with both versions, which I had mistaken as "super magnified" icon changes in the v1.4 update.

This screenshot shows the version of the app for phones and tablets. It seems that the Play store instead of using the Android TV activity when opening the app, as it should have done, uses the one for phones and tablets.
Good to know even if I couldn't fix it since it's a Google problem.

Now that it's clear what the problem is, I can try to find a workaround.
Fun fact: there is a one star review on Play store of someone who complained about the size of the icons. If he had contacted me, via email or here, as you did, giving me the chance to get more information about it I could have tried to find a solution long ago. Unfortunately, many people don't know that the Play Store, as it is structured, can't be used to analyze bugs and the best thing is, after leaving the review, to contact the developer by email.
