Hello,
I was hoping someone could help me.
I am wanting to update my phone because it is still 2.1. The only problem is it's rooted.
I did not root it, but whoever did it completely changed the rom. I talked to the guy at the phone store today and he said the only way I can update it is if I reinstall the original rom. I do not know where to get a good version of the stock rom. So help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
I am brand new to Android. I just bought a Galaxy Note Tablet 10.1 but it's the GT-N8010 model. I would prefer to have the US version GT-N8013 because it seems that there are a few apps / functions are not available in N8010 model.
I've seen several threads about flashing for phones but not for the Note Tablet 10.1. And I can't find anything about how to actually get started from the very beginning. I've always had Apple products so even the terms flashing and rooting are new to me. I need bare bones basic instructions on how to root my note tablet. I bought the ODIN app and it won't let me use it until I rooted and that I needed to be a superuser? I'm so confused... /:
Can someone please help me? What apps do I need and what's the actual process? I appreciate any help anyone could give me.
Thanks!

I used this thread that's sticked in the note Q&A to root my tablet. I actually did it yesterday after getting the german jb 4.1.2. I wanted to use the multiwindow app, so I had to root. I am new to this as well, but that thread got me through the process flawlessly. =) I used the pc version of Odin to do mine though.

Sweet! Thanks. I'm now rooted! On to the next step!
I'm on the American Wifi only 10.1. I'm unlocked, rooted, and have since lost the backup of stock. I'm on Android Revolution HD 11.2, but would love to get updated to most recent software, even if it meant being stock. Seems like none of the links work for any of the ODIN files... Can anyone PM me or help me out please.. or give me some alternate pathways to some of the newer ROMS.
I've got an SM-T817T running T-Mobile 6.0.1. It sounds like we may not get 7.0, definitely not 7.1. It's already unlocked, I want to upgrade it to 7.X. Is there a good 7.1 ROM? Preferably NOT T-Mobile, I don't want the bloat if I can avoid it. I used to love Cyanogen but all the "CM is dying, use XXXX" instead is getting old. I do use it as a backup for my laptop for work so I can't run super-bleeding edge, it needs to be able to run most normal stock apps, etc.
Suggestions?
Robert

Thats a nice list, but it doesn't tell me which are "stable" and which will work on my SM-T817T ( can I use the Stock SM-T817? on a friends Galaxy 6 to upgrade from 5.0 to 6.0 he had to use a -A since it was ATT branded and couldn't go to a non-branded stock. ).

Don't know, but, this is a Galaxy tab 2 forum.
I bet flashing wrong firmware onto the wrong device will make a brick though.
It's a Tab 2 I want to update though. I just want to know if I can use a Samsung Stock ( non-T-Mobile ) image or do I have to use a Cyanogen ( or is there currently better ) to get away from a T-mobile branded ROM.

Mine is a p-5113. There's the p5100 also, p3110 and p3113. Like 5 years old in May.
Smt817 is a tab s2. Follow smart's link. Ask there.
Does anyone know the best way to reflash my phone with its original Lolipop OS?
Or a link I could follow to learn how? Everything I see is for flashing back a Samsung or an LG. How do I make sure any of these stock ROMs I'm seeing are actually for my phone?
I know your message is just over a month old, but here:

Hope this helps!
