Hi everyone I was just looking at all the great things 3.0 has to offer and I was just wondering is this something that you needed hardware or software to use this I would like to know if we'd ever be able to use this with our phones using a custom rom or if it's just something that will never happen

I know this is going to sound weird, but would it be possible to put 2.3 on these? Just curious really.
The gtab runs 2.3 very similar specs do yes?

My guess is that it would be possible as 2.3 aosp is available and since the transformer is using a ventena based tetra 2, gingerbread drivers for hardware acceleration should be easier to get the for the g tablet.
So I've noticed that we have three UI's to choose from. Sense, stock(ASOP) and MIUI. How come we don't other choices like touchwiz or Motorola custom UI?

That is due to none of those will work on devices not made for it. Samsung and TW. Moto and blur. HTC and sense. Hope that helps
I actually wonder if anyone has even tried to make it happen.

I'm sure they've tried many times on multiple kinds of devices (I know 2 teams that tried to port sense to the cappy I don't think they got anywhere near a stable release) its just a whole lot more effort than a rom made for your phone

its more than just the OS. those UI's arent just skins. they rely heavily on kernel support, and the framework is deeply integrated and dependent upon the core device. sense relies on it being HTC, TW relies on it being samsung, and blur relies on motorola....
Back in the day when I had the original droid i remember seeing a sense rom made for it. I never used it or even thought about it since it was pretty unstable. But I guess it is possible, just impracticle and way too much work for all the super awesome devs.
actually there is a motorola ui rom for the evo 4g.

No working data/wifi/camera, probably no working Bluetooth, its about the same stage that most of the UI ports get to before its realized that its beyond hope or the devs have worked on it so long that they grow tired of working on it.

Seems like a task that's more work than its worth. I remember there being a Sense port for my old Galaxy S but I don't think it ever left the alpha stage

Yeah I figured that much. Eh but one can dream

Hi All,
I am just getting back into the Android scene and I wanted to throw out the question to find out what are the popular tweak tools that people use to complement their custom ROM?
I have been using a combination of setCPU and system info pro, but I am not sure if these are the best to be using these days!
Also was wondering if anyone uses a power saver like JuiceDefender?
I am interested to see what you all come back with.

As brief as possible:
A few weeks ago my girlfriend asked me to throw ICS on her phone, i'm just a novice when it comes to rooting but i mean it's all self explanatory.
The only problem i ran into was finding a working ICS rom. I didn't know what xda was till this was all over and done with.
So i flash ICS 4.03, a ROM that appeared to have everything working camera/youtube/facebook/ the works (and it all did work). It's all peachy until i get this text where she says the keyboards all laggy. She's tried tons of android market keyboards and nothing really solves her problem, and shes just been seeing her phone deteriorate.
I don't have access to her phone seeing as it's hers and all, but she's asked me to fix it this coming weekend, and i don't really want to give her back that old sense 2.1/ gingerbread stuff she had. But i also don't want to give her some super fancy ROM that this phone apparently can't handle. I've read all the ROM Q&A's but with out the phone with me i can't really try them all myself, and i can't know if don't try them myself.
So my question is which ROM runs the best on this phone and preferably isn't a downgrade from ICS, or at least is better than her old firmware. Or if there's a better ICS ROM with none of these issue's, but i've been hard pressed to find it.
Sorry if i was non specific.
I've had no problems with redemption 1.2.7 it is ics with a lot of customization.

I think over in the dhd forum they got sense 3.6 working completely. They're working on getting sense 4 though too

Hey just wondering if any one has given any thought to this, I know the leak is for the European, GSM variant but would it be possible to mix and match to make a Rom.i imagine not without the kernel but I figured did ask.

Read somewhere on here that the CM team is already working on CM10 for this device now that we have an unlockable boot loader.

Yes that is awesome, but I actually don't mind the Samsung overlay (highly modified and running nova of course), and there camera has really grown on me. I take allot of pics and while I like pro capture, LG camera and camera zoom fx, they never really seem to work like stock for me.

i was also wondering if we would get a port of the jellybean + touchwiz leaked update.
for some reason i like touchwiz a lot more then stock now.
Even AOSP Jellybean without Samsung enhancements would be interesting to try.
I'm not much into CyanogenMod (no offense to its many fans).
