Hey there SwiftKey fans,
We have a brand new Beta for you to try out! As always, we have made changes based on feedback from our VIPs, and we want to thank them for helping us to make this version of SwiftKey 3 Beta the best yet.
This new Beta has:
Improved prediction algorithms
Better, more consistent punctuation key behavior
Smarter Smart Space functionality (which will make it easier to enter email addresses etc)
A refined experience in Google Chrome Beta
Fixed missing predictions on the longpress of @ and .com
Improved gestures
Eliminated lag on letter pop-ups
Various other minor bug fixes and usability improvements
You can download the new Beta for your phone here: http://vip.swiftkey.net/sk3beta , or for your tablet here: http://vip.swiftkey.net/sk3tabletbeta
Thanks for this, looks nice, I'm using it to type this message, soo much better than the crappy old version!

Is there a tablet version too? It says it isn't optimized for tablets but its still very usable.
Thanks!
Downloaded onto my HTC Sensation and works a treat

Yes! but swiftkey servers are down... I'm trying to access. I'll update the tablet version as soon as i can.
Thanks I'm waiting for hours because swift key site its Down.
No gestures?
Thanks for the share!
What does everyone think about the beta? I love the new themes and bigger space bar, but having no gestures and all punctuation on the same button having me scratch my head. I loved the swipe to delete a whole word feature!
Thanks for the link. Have been trying to grab this since I read about it earlier, with no luck from the SK site.
Totally genius app!!!love it like he'll!

Thanks for the downloads. using it right now to type out this post. The layout on the keyboard is great but the app seems to lag a bit.

Thanx, been waiting to try this.
Does anyone know if there's a way to stop the "Select Input Notification" to constantly pop up while using this? I've looked thru the SwiftKey settings to no avail. It's super annoying and distracting.
Anyway to change the period to a question mark? They had a question mark there before. Now it takes so long to add commas and question marks

I really hope they put back in the long-press duration setting. I find this one of the most appealing parts of SwiftKey.
Will they update SwiftKey X to SwiftKey 3 or do we need to buy another keyboard?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
I dont known but you can have two kbs installed and choose one of them. In my list of kbs appears "Swiftkey X" and Swiftkey 3 Beta".
Frank
Yea, I hope I don't need to buy another keyboard for what should be enough to justify as just an update.
As as for the lag, that seems to have gotten a lot better after switching themes from cobalt to holo. Still is kind of laggy though.

There are two points that i dont like at all about last beta. The short size of letters/simbols amb my clear theme (like ics) that does not appear in theme list.
Enviado gracias a la magia del hombre blanco
Also, when you long press the period to access the punctuation, the first option after pressing should be a comma. Why should anyone long press the period only to select period.

Just curious as to how many people prefer one keyboard or the other.
Im switching between each one and im curious
Latest Touchpal
Or
Latest Swype Beta
And why?
I feel Swype beta is better predictive and more friendly to mess ups
SwiftKey is faster than all of them and provides the best prediction IMO.

I 2nd that
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
I'm for Swype much easier and faster to me plus Swype (mines) adapts to its user.

Swype. However swift key is coming out with a new version that has swype ability, that should prove to be the best

TouchPal wins if only for the way it handles numbers. Swipe up for a number is genius - press and hold on Swype and Swift seems so annoying now after experiencing the TouchPal way. It doesn't get in the way of swipe-to-type (because you're swiping up into nowhere) while still saving screen real-estate.
I still have Swype and Swiftkey (and Flow Beta) installed but just wanted to put this plug in for a little-known feature that I think is killer and deserves applause.

Swpe from the "Swype" button to #5 and the numerical keypad pops up. Been that way since they introduced Swype to cut, copy, paste.
Edit: *it's been there 2011 actually.

I've always liked Swype myself. I think it was one of three available installed in the phone when I got it.
evidently u havent been rooted and flashed aeon 1.4 sl gingerbread rom with zens 1.4 ghz kernel since u think its slow but i use go keyboard.

Look at the ICS and JB keyboards that VLLLW developed. You can find them in Google Play. I currently use the JB keyboard and I loooove it. Another keyboard you can try out is the GOkeyboard, also found in Google Play. I've had some lag issues with the GOkeyboard though. However, that was also when I didn't manage my device well at all.

Never liked go keyboard myself. I like better keyboard from Amazon app store. Also perfect keyboard from play store is good too. Both will cost a couple dollars, but better keyboard has followed me from 2 phones and about 50 ROMs. The themes for them are gold too.

SwiftKey!
Hackers Keyboard from the Play store.
Free and great for tty and such. Full 5 rows in landscape mode. Ctrl, arrows, etc.
Also... CM 10 Jelly is faster than any stock ROM on the Infuse. Just awesome. The new JellyBean 4.2 has a great swipe feature. Solid...

Hackers keyboard, was so happy when I found this a must have for SSH and VDP.
For my phone I've always liked the swype that came with it, seems to be the smoothest and most accurate IMO
Official Facebook app won't post a status/pic, rarely posts my comments.
Fast Pro has too many bugs
Flipster is half ass, doesn't show everything, SLOW
Friendcaster Pro wants to show me everyones games more than statuses and such.
Everyone uses something different, what's a quality Facebook app youd recommend??

Official Facebook app is fine on a modern device. It is quite big (~20MB) and uses a big chunk of RAM (~45-50MB) so on older devices, it can be quite painful to run. Simply go to facebook.com in your mobile browser, you get the same interface.
Flipster is the best of the alternatives, but the problem with the alternatives is that 1) if you post from it (and this is anything but the website or the official app), Facebook doesn't share your status with all your friends. It's posted to your Timeline, but almost nobody will see it. And 2) it won't show you all your friends' statuses and photos. Their game activity will always show up, though, as well as anything sponsored.
Most likely the fastest is TweetDeck, or maybe TweakDeck (the former, only... tweaked). The interface looks like straight up ass, but it's fast, even on crappy phones. Tested and verified on Samsung Acclaim (800MHz ARMv6, 160MB RAM, ~20MB app install space, Froyo).
Tried "Scope"? It's an all-in-one social app.

I am very with Friendcaster Pro. Works well on my RAZR, syncs well with my phone book. So far no problems at all.
FBM! I love it but its simply a mobile version of Facebook. still its easier to navigate, and it has Compatibility Mode options which it'll load "Opera Mini" Facebook interface (good for slow connection)

I had this app ported to my HTC Flyer from the ThinkPad back in the day. I loved it and its accuracy. It's good to see that Visions is now making it available to other apps. Definitely giving this a try.

Currently (limited time) beta, and it is absolutely amazing. I've been using mazec2, Samsung keyboards for handwriting-to-text (gave up SNote a long time ago) and both the "inking" is very smooth, handwriting recognition beats the pants off alternatives with my "chicken scratches" .
Loving the "gesture shortcuts" (similar to Samsung keyboard which I believe is based on earlier myscript release ). Note this doesn't have a typing style kb but I don't see this as a major problem as it is quite easy to switch to stock or SwiftKey when I need to type.
Download and check out the g+ community feedback. The only major concern I have is whether this will be available on Google play in final release (not as oem-exclusive )...

Found it in the Play Store - works much like the windows 10 script to type keyboard. Worth checking out.
