Yahoo mail? People still use yahoo mail?
Yahoo settings
Incoming server setting
imap.mail.yahoo.com:143 no security
Outgoing server settnig
smtp.mail.yahoo.com:587 no security
The sense default email app (Mail) does not handle Y! mail folders, but the android default email app (Email) does.

the HTC Sense mail program is a bit flaky. try the default android one. It should do what you want, but it doesn't work with the Mail widget on the home-screen

Push E-Mail

Hello,
This is my first Android phone after using the iPhone. I added all my Gmail accounts to the email app from Samsung, and I'm still not getting push email. It's set at IMAP and everything. Do I need to set it up as an exchange account?
Thanks.
you need to use the gmail app for gmail to push as far as i know If you only use Gmail, you can remove the email app from that bottom dock by going to the applications screen and hitting menu there is a setting to arrange via grid and then rearrange apps and you can drag the gmail app down there and remove the email app

Thanks for the quick reply. That slightly is disappointing since the Samsung email app has an universal inbox where as the Gmail email app doesn't. Is there an app that would help with this issue if I were to root the phone?
I apologize in advanced if I sound stupid or don't make any sense. I'm still checking up with all the Android lingo
How would I go about adding a non gmail and a non exchange account? Would the Gmail app support that? Or would I have to use the Samsung email app for that?
Thanks.

The Gmail app only supports gmail accounts I believe. You either have to use the Samsung email app or forward your emails from your other accounts to gmail.
Another suggestion is to use K-9 Mail. I have my Gmail, AOL, and Hotmail accounts added to the K-9 Mail and Gmail and AOL both give me push emails and I have Hotmail set up for polling every hour.
K-9 seems to be the best alternative because I didn't want to forward all my emails to Gmail and the Samsung email app wasn't pushing my emails like I wanted.
If the samsung email app supports exchange active sync, you can use it to get gmail and it'll push. Gmail now fully supports active sync. I had my iphone set up that way and I got push emails from Gmail no problem.
The Google Gmail website shows you how to set up Gmail as if it were an exchange active sync account. Its really simple and worked great for me for over a year. I have the Captivate now and only use the Gmail app, but I only have one Gmail account, not multiple ones like the OP.

That's exactly what I'm looking. That works out perfect. Thanks again! And if I ever want to sync my contacts and calendar with Gmail, I can always turn off sync for mail but keep sync active for contacts and calendar.
Thanks again.

[Q] Is there anything for showing unread mail for Yahoo mail?

Is there anything for showing unread mail for Yahoo mail?
If you use the AOSP email client for Yahoo instead of the Yahoo email client, this will do the trick for you:

Use adw launcher and install adw Notifier

[Q] Gmail app vs Email app

So the TF comes with the Gmail app and Email app. I've set up all my Gmail accounts to Gmail app, then I disabled the email feature in Settings, leaving on sync for picasa, address book, calendar.
I then set up all of the same Gmail accounts to the Email app to handle my email.
Am I setting this correctly? I notice Gmail app doesn't interface with the Widget that tells you when you have a new email, or the scrollable email widget.
I've done the same although I didn't get a push option for the gmail account, but I had push option for my MSN account. I found that a bit odd.
There is a different widget for your gmail account to use through the gmail app. You really should be using the gmail app. Its the only app that lets you properly use your labels. And the Gail app supports push with Gmail accounts.
You can get push email with the other email app, by simply configuring exchange support for gmail accounts.. using it now.. very similar to the Google Gmail app, missing a few features but it does have that nice minimalist unread count widget..

There should be plenty of unread count widgets for gmail in the market if you prefer that. Personally I think you lose out on too many of the gmail label and spam features when using the regular mail app.
Unfortunately not.. well, not working ones anyway.. I, and a few others here have looked..
Of the simple, clean unread count type Widgets.. Gmail unread count doesn't work on HC, the one in elixir doesn't crash.. but doesn't appear to actually do anything..
If you know of one that actually does something like the Asus one but works with the gmail app, I'd be grateful

[Q] gMail vs eMail?

I'm a newbie with smart phones. I'm coming from a dumb phone and just ordered a Nexus 5. Looking at Nexus 5 specs and stock apps, I don't understand why the Nexus 5 has an Email app and a Gmail app. Isn't Gmail, e-mail? Why does Google separate e-mails? I have Gmail accounts, AOL e-mail accounts and Time Warner (Road Runner) e-mail accounts. Can I send and receive all my accounts in my Gmail app? Can I send and receive all my accounts in my Email app? Isn't all e-mail, e-mail? I don't understand the separation. Is Google making e-mailing, unnecessarily complicated? Are some e-mail accounts blocked out from one app or the other?
The gmail app is only for GMail, and is highly optimised for GMail. For example, it has the tabbed inbox (General, Social, Promotions, Updates, and Forums).
The email app is for any e-mail (POP or IMAP). Of course you can use the email app for GMail through the IMAP feature in GMail, but you won't get the optimised experience.

Use Email app to add all your email accounts.
But, if I were you I would start phasing out the AOL and RR email acounts and only use Gmail, this use only Gmail app.
I did this a few years ago and set an auto-forward on all my RR email. Whenever I would get an email sent to RR, I would update my profile's email on that account/service/website's. I now have one email and have the additional features that someone already mentioned above.
