Installing cynagen 10.1.2 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

If I want to install cynagen on my phone can I install it from the sd card or rom manager or do I have to install an old bootloader. I'm already rooted with casual 1 click root method

No. If you're on the latest bootloader you should be fine.

When I try to install without a wipe first it gets stuck at the spinning loading screen. Any suggestions for installation without having to do a wipe first?

A good rule of thumb is to never dirty flash. Its not worth it. It only takes a half hour to set it ip again and you don't get any of the headache.

I got cynagenmod install but it do sent have the gsm features were I can use my T-Mobile sim card. Were do I download it at

Unless you are using it internationally, The VZW GS3 is sim locked to only operate on the VZW cdma/LTE network. There may be a hack out there (I haven't looked) to use it, but regardless of the ROM (until unlocked) it will not work.

Verizon Galaxy S III Update!

After seeing postings about a Verizon Galaxy S III update yesterday, I checked using "About device -> Software update" in Settings this morning.
A 30 MB download started and the update completed in about 5 minutes. Software Update says it was an update from LF2 to LG7.
Yeah and kills universal search and you cant disable the remote diagnostics if youre stock and not rooted.
Also several users have confirmed it will break root. They all were stock rooted with stock recovery.

I am on the Stock rom, rooted and bootloader unlocked Using Voodoo OTA RootKeeper, EZ-Unlock, and CWM. Re-Locked bootloader, disabled root, took the update. After the update completed, CWM asked to disable the new boot image, selected yes. Rebooted, got a message saying the update failed, however it installed and I am at I535VRLG7. I was able to restore root, and unlock bootloader without any problem..
How do I keep the phone from taking the update?

Did you unlock your bootloader? If so did you read the BIG WARNING?if not go back and read it. Generally once you root you don't want to give vzw a chance to unroot you. If you unlocked your bootloader It could brick your phone.
So generally don't take ota updates! You wait for the devs to check them out First and modify them for us.
As far as i Can tell this ota just takes stuff away from us And installs some vzw remote access crap. ( with that on your phone you will have to go back to stock if you just call customer support for help)

The update itself has useful stuff (a new radio which fixes no sim issues), but we have that already and it should just be flashed by itself, imo.
Well got my first no sim with the radio epic fail.. So much for fixing that maybe just a push to get that bootloader relocked

Did you do it via OTA or flashed the radio? I'm hoping you flashed invisiblek's in Odin. That one was actually the wrong version.

Flash the CWM version. invisiblek accidentally bundled the previous radio in the Odin package. Not sure if it's updated yet.

When your phone is powered of completely, hold the power and volume down keys at the same time. This will then bring up a white screen with a load of text. Look at the top and if it says 'S-off' then I assume you've unlocked the boot loader. If it says 'S-on' I assume not. But this isn't always the case.
Try it anyway and if this helps please leave a thank you

That is just for HTC devices.
Just reboot your phone and if the first samsung logo when booting up disappears quickly then you have an unlocked biitloader.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
The simplest way to tell is if you reboot your device and if the first splash screen that appears flashes "Samsung" really quick, then you are unlocked. If you are not unlocked it will stay up for a second or two.

What version of ez unlock are you using? Make sure you use version 1.2. The later versions don't work.
Actually they do work as I used 1.4 and the only thing is that it says unknown. Also once it gives you the prompt saying the phone is unlocked you flash a custom recovery to see if you have successfully unlocked the bootloader.

You probably flashed an incompatible kernel. Basically if you flash a kernel meant for ICS it won't work on jelly bean and vice versa.

It has been widely known/reported that 1.4/1.3 are non-functional. I think you are the first person I've seen to claim otherwise. Maybe it works for some? All I know is that 1.4 did not work for me I had to revert to 1.2, and this is the same for everyone else in the ez unlock thread on Rootz.

I'm assuming you downloaded ez-unlock from the market? That's version 1.4, which has been widely reported as non-functional. Uninstall the current app then download version 1.2 from this thread and install it:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/32456-app-920-ez-unlock-14-easiest-way-to-unlock-your-bootloader/
That should fix your problem if it doesn't then there is something else wrong.

[Q] i727 Boot Loop.

Hello. Basically I tried installing mohan_kr's ATT-SGH-I727-UCMC1-STOCK-odexed-cwm.zip onto my Skyrocket i727 and it gets as far as half-way into the Rethink Possible screen, freezes, then reboots. Then continues to do that until it just stops and shuts the phone down entirely. Before installing I formatted /system, wiped data/factory reset and wiped the cache partition but it only results in a boot loop. This was all done with ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.6. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I tried searching but the only thing related turned out to be a stuck power button, which this isn't.
If I remember right, the recovery you're using is old as dirt. Am I right?

Ya pretty much haha. My friend, who's had a lot more experience with androids than I have, installed it along with gingerbread so we could just update straight from there with CWM to jelly bean 4.1.2 but now every rom I try gets stuck in a boot loop. Is there a way to upgrade CWM without an active OS?

Grab an updated recovery from here, load it onto your memory card, enter recovery, Install Zip from External SD, flash.
Just download the latest recovery and install using Odin, after that you can try flashing the ROM.. Mohan's ROM will work like a charm...

Jelly 'beans' rom build 19 question

So I tried installing this last week had trouble and got me on the screen that says something like 'this is non Verizon please take to nearest Verizon store' SOMETHING LIKE THAT, sure you'll know what I'm talking about. And I want to try over but I'm not to sure why that happened. I'm THINKING it was because phone wasn't unlocked. But I'm not to sure if it was locked of unlocked. Is there several reasons that message can come up or is there one main cause, that cause being phone wasn't unlocked??

Only reason why you saw this prompt is because the bootloader is still locked. Odin flash a stock image then use Casual to root and unlock or use Invisiblek's guide on Rootzwiki to root and unlock via Odin. What root utility did you use to root?

Wicked, MOAR, Clean ROM 8, scrosler's stock rooted knoxless ROM, samstock, old & slow's stock root deodex. Although the OP of scrosler's stock rooted knoxless ROM indicates it (or he) does not support safestrap.

I usually just add space to the data partition of the ROM slot. Cache defaults at 300mb, system is unchangeable at 1500mb, and data defaults at 2500mb and i usually bump it up to 3000mb just to make sure i have enough space for app data.
Thanks guys!
