[KERNEL] [4.3] Testers wanted - Nexus 7 Android Development

morning folks,
have been working on my own little kernel mod for 4.3, currently its very basic and only really has 700mhz gpu overclock and 1.624ghz cpu oc as im still testing my build env to make sure i can build usable images, could use some people to test the image to make sure it works ok on other devices also if possible, if i get decent reports ill work more on any changes/additions and get a github setup for this, alot of current changes are based off commits from oxydo and motley
link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/6467077/newboot.img
Source: https://github.com/DJSteve/N7-kerne

I'll try it out once I update to a 4.3 based ROM. (So, in the upcoming week or so).

Tested and Working
Hey Brother... i am using android 4.3 on my n7 and i downloaded your "newboot.img" file and flashed it through fastboot it...booted up, wifi automatically connected...Tested Bluetooth..that also worked fine (Sent files to my hd2, recieved files from hd2, listening to songs via bluetooth right now.....)..SO I AM GUESSING it works great.....except for one problem....It stopped showing showing up on my computer nomatter what i did..Debugging also siezed to work....also a flashable Zip would be great....

In System Settings under Performance...I was unable to edit any settings...LOOK INTO THAT

very strange that one, ive got my 7 plugged into pc at min at its showing up fine on same kernel. ill wait for some other reports and see if anyone else has similar issues

It was a ROM issue in CM.Should be fixed now.

haha ok that saves me the worry once ive finished merging in all the kernel edits to date il start my own work now that my kernels and images seem to work for people

Work with 4.4.2(KOT49H)tilapia ?

As stated in the OP, and thread title, this is an Android version 4.3 kernel. No, it would not work for 4.4.2.

Fast Charge
Is Fast Charge an option to add on the N7? I've never though about it till now.. I have a SGS3 and HTC One X+ that depending on the Kernel you're using has that function.

would like to see elites rom with bigmem
I use AOKP4 and AIR BigMem kernel. Doesn't that achieve the same thing? My available Ram is usually runs 125mb and gets up to 180+mb after I run "fast reboot"
Never mind just looked at the screen above. 405mb I guess my men isn't big enough sorry for the post.

413mb ram if you flash the next version of slim bean
Where can I get this Air BIGMEM kernel?
Would it work on MIUI?

Has been running great on my phone, very stable. I use the "Blue Color BigMem" version I am always curious about other kernels but after using the blue air other kernels make my phone look like its sick cause the colors seem off ( looks like it has the flu or something i know it sounds weird) I always end up re-dlashing air within a few min.

one suggestion though
can you include in the next release a circular battery with percentage, also a tweak to remove the google search bar on top
So far, so good.
Does this rom support tablet mode?
Nice built, thank you. I miss the navbar customization tough....could it be possible that you cherry picked it soon ?
Oh my! I just got my n7 last night and the first custom I slapped on was this. Now that I have I don't see any reason to switch.

Only issue I am having with this rom is that when the screen is unlocked and you hold the home button to go to Google Now, it brings up the recent apps menu. Any one else having that issue? Is there a known fix?
i'm very happy to see you here as well cdtdroid, since i already use your roms on my gnex. and just like on the gnex, this here is awesome. so far, everything i tried worked just fine. pretty nice to have otg support out of the box. tried severy usb sticks, and all of 'em worked. very nice work mate

Sorry to be so newbie, but how I know if I'm running the franco.kernel? I've downloaded the free app, download the kernel and set auto-flash, but nothing appears to be different.
I'm running AOKP JB Build 1 on Galaxy Nexus.

Ha I would but I dont currently own a Nexus 7, I just work on the rom and maintain the XDA threads.
Change log says latest version is 2.2.1. Is that just for another device?
Just grabbed another unit for building and testing, suppose I will try this out now.

Actually 2.2.1 hasnt been released yet, it may be out this weekend. The changelog was just updated on our source so we don't lose track of any of the changes. This will always be updated to the latest download links as soon as the rom is out.

CROSSBONES! one of the best roms i used on my nexus s
OP updated to newest version
OP updated!
Would anyone be interested in creating a boot animation for us? We want something unique to the ROM, open to idea's, so whatever you want to do, we will review it.
Here's the CRT-Off Flashable Zip File for Version 2.2.2 for this Rom: http://www.mediafire.com/?v2zgm52s1ul6o2j
Flash in TWRP or CWM
OP updated with newest version!!!
This is not to dog anyone, and we know our ROM is no where near as feature rich as some out there, but we believe that this is the most stable 4.2.2 ROM around. From our own reading of issues that other ROM's were having once jumping to 4.2.2, to the opinions expressed to us from the people who tested, the response has been the same, this ROM has NO issues so please enjoy!
The actual 4.2.2 tags for the device and hardware repos has now been pushed to the aosp server, a new build will be out for everyone some time this weekend!

[Q] xt925 cant install 4.4.4

i've not been able to install any of the latest rom's(4.4.4) and i have no idea why, firstly i wanted to try MoKee, the installation was fine, but the moment the loading animation started, it would just stay animated indefinitely, then i tried the other latest roms like slimrom, PA, and they all do the same thing, stuck at animated boot logo.
i've tried to install 2.7.1.0 TWRP, that just freezes when i enter it, i then installed CWM 6.0.4.9, the UI is very blurry, but i can navigate it just barely to install/wipe/clean the rom's i've listed above.
the only thing that i can think of is that its something to do with the bootloader and/or the kernel.
i've re-installed the previous working version of paranoid saberdroid, and everything is fine again.
any help would be great, thank you.

I believe that the newer ROMs kernel is version 3.4. Those only work if you've updated to the official KK rom sent Ota. That is what I think
