Hi guys,
New Android user here (Samsung Galaxy S3). The problem is all my contacts and calendar are on iCloud. Do you think it's better to use sync adapters like SmoothSync to get my iCloud stuff to work (prefer not to pay though...), or do you think it's better to just switch to Google? Keep in mind that my desktop environment is Mac.

Switch Its okay that your desktop is MAC though I think galaxy s3 and mac don't go together. Google syncs your contacts, because I switched to a different phone and when I entered my google acc info all my contacts from my old phone showed up and the calendar synced too. If you tend to switch to iOS phone then I guess use the smoothsync or w/e that paid app is.
Google
If yu have a mac. I think you should use google. As the new version of google is mac friendly!!

Switch. It should be fine
If you go to the iCloud website you can download vcards for all your contacts and then import them into Google.

Just switched to Google. Everything seems to be working great. Thanks for all the advice!
I'm wondering if I write a note on my s3 and then want to see it on the tablet (and vise-versa)... do the two apps sync with each other?
I see that syncing fails alot on either app when logged into my samsung account.
Any tips..ideas? better softwares?
ics on the s3 (stock)
JB on the gt8013 - team union rom

They do not. You would have to sync to Evernote or Google Drive on the first device and then sync S-Note on the second device with Evernote / Drive to see your note. It's not seamless.
I am having a heck of a time getting my Samsung account to sync s-memo and calendars.
The S3 uses Calendar (smasung, not googles) whereas the Note 10.1 uses S-Planner.
The S3 uses S-Memo and the Note 10.1 uses S-Note.
My Samsung account is linked to my primary Google account.
The passwords between the 2 accounts are the same.
All I want is my calenders and notes to sync. If I write a note on my tablet I would like it to sync to my phone and vice versa. The same goes for calender events. Weirdly contacts and internet both sync. If my calendar events are supposedly syncing to my primary Google calender, then why aren't events created on my phone showing on my tablet?
I know I can't be the only person who wants to symc data between OEM apps on an S3 and Note 10.1. Yes, I did do a search. Any help resolving this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Well I am an idiot.
It helps if you tell it to save to the google calendar instead of ghe internal one.
And apparently S-Memo and S-Note don't play nice with one another. Wth Samsung?

If this helps ya, I have the Note tablet & note 2 phone and the S Note does not integrate. I can sync both just can't sync from one to another. It sucks, but hopefully it will change
I had this exact same question. Just got a Note 10.1 and wanted to sync my notes with my Note 2.
Damn!
S-Note S-Memo
I understand at least that S-Note can import S-Memo files...anyone tried it and can confirm?

I figured how to sync my Galaxy note 2 S Notes with my Galaxy note tab 10.1. I used google docs.
1. Press and hold on a note or a folder
2. Select Sync from the menu
3. Select Google Docs
4. Log into Google Docs (if you don't have google docs, then create one) LOL.
5. Go to your Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet and open your S Note app.
6. On the Drop down menu after the + sign on the top right hand corner, select Sync
7. Select Google Docs and log in.
8. You will see your Notes or folder import.
That's it, this imports the notes very well. If you need help setting your notes to do (handwriting to text) let me know.
Thanks!

The absolute best solution for this is DROPSYNC!! Just install dropsync on your phone and on the tablet. Direct dropsync to sync both ways and sync the snotes folder. PERFECT SYNC!! Not sure why the Samsung account can't do this, but Dropsync does it exactly! Make a note on the tablet and it ends up on the phone and vise versa.
Give it a try!
Thanks!
Thank you that works really well and is so easy to use!
Thanks again!

Sorry, I think SPlanner only syncs between your email and calendar clients.
S4 and Note 10.1 s note sync issue
Hi All,
Does this expIain why I'm getting the following:
Create an S note on my note 10.1
I can view it on my note and s4
as soon as I've viewed it on my s4 it disappears from my note 10.1
This isn't exactly a "useful" feature!?

Thanks. Dropsync is perfect.
I have an s3. I like the format of the s memo calender. I have my personal gmail acct sync'd and I have my bosses sync'd (which i just did about 2 weeks ago). I am now trying to sync my work gmail calendar, but it says "can not connect to google servers, try again". What do I do? (ps- I did check my gmail acct on my phone and they are ALL sync'd there)
Hi
I have been using dropsync to sync my notes between devices but its painfully slow when opening snote (app just says syncing and stays there for almost 20 seconds some times not allowing me to use the app)
I cant use the Samsung accounts to synce due to the roms i use that removes the Samsung account on my device
Has anyone had the dropsync issues with s note or is there another way to keep my notes synced

This is second time I experiencing this. This time I lost many notes. Started snote, message syncing apeared and kaboom, no notes at all.
I am more and more dissapointed with this tablet every day. This is even worse than windows. Not serious working tool at all.

Ok i was wrong about how i got that working.I stopped using it over a year ago..
on your tablet go into Settings then Cloud. If you set Drop Box up back when you got the device . (They were giving away free Storage). You should see under cloud in blue highlight .. Content sync (with Dropbox)
under sync settings you see what is synced..
Now go out of cloud and click on Samsung account and there you go to Device BACKUP Auto backup should be on by default..
Once you have done this.. Go back to Samsung Link app in app drawer. Click on your Device then files and IF Samsung ever backed up your notes . (there is a Samsung sync feature in the s note app) Your s notes should now appear there..
Sorry for the confusion i did not remember doing so many steps to use that when i used it long ago. The above comment i made about leave on device. Is NO Longer there. So i am not puzzled how you would delete content. When you sync it would sync both ways. Before there was a choice So that you could purge Documents
Hope this helps. and I just turned it back on on my device from Settings samsung account as described above. then synced and my newer s-notes showed up on samsung link..
I Hope this helps or at least it will show you options so you Never loose your stuff again.
OHH One more helpful thing .
GO into s- note settings Auto sync. and then from there Auto sync app data check.. and you can then add account. and choose from any storage account you have on your Tablet.. I just now noticed the add account
Good Luck...
