Wireless charging and rugged Hard Case - Nexus 4 Accessories

I own one of these cases for my N4 Rugged Hard Case
Without the holster it adds like 4-5mm to the back of the N4. Unfortunately i also discovered that there are two small metal rods in the middle of the back that are part of the kickstand. So very doubtful if wireless charging works with this case. Is probably someone here who can report from own experience with such a case and wireless charging? Any help appreciated.

[Q] case for epic with extended battery.

I have 3500 batery, so phone is quite thick.
I want a case that fully covers the screen. I like the pdair leather case.
http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=10100000_10000000_11001061&products_id=31412
But I doubt it would fit. Any Ideas as to first, if i could force the thick phone into the plastic sheath, without breaking either phone, or sheath.
Or if not, any other ideas for full case?
i ordered 1 from amazon and it adds way too much thickness to the phone...the case was from eforcity
it was only 2 bucks, but i never drop my phone anyway, so i don't really need a case
I was hoping someone could help with this also. I have a pouch case I bought at Wal-Mart but it still fits a bit to tight.
I would also like this. Something without a belt clip.

Noreve Leather case/Qi Charging Pad

Hi All,
Well I've not really done many reviews so I may miss things or not do so well but will try to cover as much as I can, if you have any questions by all means ask. This is mostly my thoughts on the Noreve Leather case for the Nexus 4 and when used with Qi charging systems, there seems to be views and opinions on Qi chargers and some cases but none leather. I like to look after my phones, while the glass used these days is nice and strong I have found out the hardway that they still can break quite easily.
I've had bumpers, back covers and skins before but still had accidents involving broken screens from time to time. So I know try to look at covers that will protect the whole phone, normally a leather flip of book type case of some sort. After reading a few thoughts and reviews on Noreve cases on this forum I became very interested indeed. So I ordered one and let me say it is fantastic, the quality and finish of the final product is just simply beautiful. They are not a EL Cheapo PU leather case, infact they are fairly expensive but you would expect this considering it is a hand made item by a true craftsman using genuine leather.
The case's base is made from a molded plastic, with the sides being made from metal (most likely steel) and then has the leather fitted skillfully. Well then end product is simple and elegantbut extremely functional in providing full protection for your nexus 4. The sides are quite snug fitting, this case really holds your phone well and provide good side protection but allows use of all side keys and acess to charging / Headphone sockets. It closes quite positivly and stays shut very well, takes a little getting used to opening it but I like the secure feel of it.
Anyway, there's other revies of the quality fit 'n finish of this product. While it's not that cheap it is beautiful and doesn't bulk the phone up anywhere as much as you might think. Now the other thing I was also interested in was Qi charging, I've tried a few of the cheapies about but they had to have the phone in exactly the right spot or they didn't work. No option of just buying Googles Orb in Australia yet, so I found one being sold online from Gadgets4Geeks website.
They had a video showing this charger working with a few different types of cases, so I bought one to try out. Works fine with different cases just like the video shows, well will it work with a leather case?
Answer is this charging pads seems to work perfectly with the Noreve leather case, I've taken some photos of the phone in the case showing the wireless charging working and a few of just how beautiful and well made this case truely is.
The Qi Pad
Phone shown charging still sidesways, while the phone does need to be put in the right area for charging to work it's quite a decent area so the phone also charges fine even if placed down on a angle. Nice and easy, the other thing I like is it beeps when it's made a connection/started charging and then once again when charging is finished. Thats it, the charger then turns off, none of this repeated beeping on or off like some of the chargers out there.
Now a couple more close up shots showing the beautiful Noreve case and how well it fits the Nexus 4 offering both style with very good protection
The Noreve Tradition case for the Nexus 4
Which Noreve?

Any idea WHICH case this is from Noreve. Tradition isn't one of the options on the site, and I want to make sure that I get one that works with a Qi charger.
It's listed on their site, here's a link http://www.noreve.com/langue/en/pro...=2679&osCsid=ba83d3b5b01db61f347d18b1290b60cb
Then lower down is your selection of colours and different finishes to the leather, I bought mine from a different site though as it worked out cheaper than direct from Noreve. I got mine through MobileZap online, heres a link http://www.mobilezap.com.au/38454-noreve-tradition-case-for-google-nexus-4---brown.htm
Some of the Noreve cases have the option for a belt clip also but I didn't get that as I was worried the metal clip would stop the case siting flat as well as Qi charging not working. I have noticed that Qi charging is slower with a case fitted but I guess thats to be expected as the phone is further away from the charging surface, I really love this case and am so glad Qi charging at least works.

I too have a Noreve case for my new Nexus 7 but I have not been able to find a Qi charger that works with this case. Can you please tell me the brand so I can search for a source here in the US? Thanks!
Towards the end he mentioned Gadgets4Geeks.
Here is the link for the charger: http://www.gadgets4geeks.com.au/product/qi_wireless_charger
Yep, the QI charger I'm using is from Gadgets4Geeks. Still using it and the same leather case without any problems, the charger works a treat. I think it may charger slightly slower (though I've not timed/tested this) with the case than without. I don't ever take it out of the case, extremely happy with this set-up
Incase it helps the info on the underside of the Qi charger is this:
Wireless charging pad
Model: T-100
input: DC 5v, 1500mA
Made in China

Are there any TPU style cases that work over the Qi charging door?

The official wireless Qi charging door adds a few millimeters to the thickness. I had a Body Glove case over the phone but now it's a little tight and the case bows down the edge site.
Does anyone else have the wireless Qi door and case? If so, what case are you using and how well does it fit?
I found a partial answer here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/accessories/note-edge-flip-wallet-qi-wireless-t2950494
Following the instructions in that thread I was able to crack open the Samsung OEM Qi Charging Door, pull out the Qi charging pad, and "transplant" it into the original plastic battery door. It created some raised spots on the back but the door clips shut all the way around and you can barely tell there are any raised spots once you put a case around the phone.
My current case is a Body Glove Satin Series. With this modification the case fits pretty good with just a slight wobble when laying it flat.
Did anyone find an answer to this without doing the mod?

[Q] Must have accessories...

Afternoon team,
So I'm moving from iOS back to android next week, with a new Note 4 on its way!
I used to have an S2 and enjoyed the hell out of trying custom ROM's, but I'll get on to that in a few weeks time!
First off though, of course, is getting the right case and accessories. All opinions and set-ups welcomed!
Keep in mind, I use my phone as SatNav as I drive a lot, daily. Things like flipcases would be irrelevant as I can only imagine how rubbish they are to mount in a car. Also, I like tough cases as long as they aren't too bulky. The CaseMate for iPad Mini's are incredible (iPad mini is a main tool in my business). Wireless charging seems intriguing, so I wouldn't mind looking into that. As long as it works through standard cases?
I've looked at the Spigen cases, they look ok. But there's an awful lot of mixed reviews on here.
So, dream scenarios people... what accessories and case should I go for??
Spigen capsule i have got that one and is awesome, great feel, good protecion and it also looks god
Thanks,
The Spigen line look cool but I do find their insistence on 'Auto Focus' a little out of taste!
If you need a case then I can recommend Spigen as I have had them on many of my phones and loved them although I'm not a case user most of the time. I have the capsule for the Note 4 and I like it but with an already big phone it makes it bigger but not too much.
If you don't need a case then I would recommend the qi wireless charging back cover even if your not going to use wireless charging to charge the phone because to me it makes the phone feel better in hand.
If you are going to use wireless charging then I the Nexus magnetic charger looks good especially when used with a good dash mount.
Samsung spare battery kit is also good to have because it comes with a battery holder/charger and a slim holder as well.
samsung oem qi back cover, iblason armorbox case, itian wireless car charger, 3m scotch double sided outdoor tape, 3 coil desktop qi charger. thats all you need.
-Samsung Protective cover. I've tried many cases from Spigen, and other brands, but nothing beats the OEM cover for me.
-A pack of plastic screen protectors. Spigen, iSmooth, iCarez, Halo all fit well. I haven't been happy with any tempered glass protector.
-A decent Micro SD card that fits your storage needs.
I want to suggest
Xpower 2.4A Aluminium Alloy Micro USB Cable
http://www.agrade.com.hk/index.php/...inium-alloy-micro-usb-cable.html?options=cart
can also find it on Ebay
There's a crazy deal on flash cards today, 128gb at 80$.
For must have though my list is short
Case since accidents happen, I use a 10$ caseology who's gaudy label came off with some rubbing alcohol.
Tempered glass screen protector if you're willing to get it at bestbuy, so they'll put it on and you can return it instantly if there's haloing. They tried four protectors until one worked, curved glass sucks.
High amp car charger for rapid charging, mpow is usually on sale. Mine was 8$.
I like a flat wireless receiver tucked behind the back door since I randomly find myself around wireless chargers, make sure it supports nfc if you use nfc.
Firekat rom to double your battery life since zerolemon is expensive

Case that works well with a Nillkin Magic Tag (Qi coil)?

I got a OP7Pro recently and am really liking the phone in nearly all ways except for the lack of wireless charging. I have a few specific needs while on the road and the lack of wireless charging is very problematic for me.
To try to compensate for this, I grabbed a Nillkin Magic Tag (USB-C Short version) for $13 on Amazon. This adds the missing functionality very well and seems like the best possibly way for me to correct this one problem for me.
However, I'm trying to find a case that plays nicely with this particular Qi addon. Not that I have very many cases (a couple official cases and a Speck case) but all of them bulge a bit due to the thickness of the pad of the Magic Tag (surprisingly, they're all fine with the USB-C connector and cable, which is what I thought I'd have problems with). This bulging has minor side-effects such as causing the cases to be "creaky", causing the back of the phone (well, case) to be curved resulting in my phone sliding off of Qi docks, buttons and cutouts not quite lining up perfectly, gaps between the case and phone beneath the camera, etc. that I'd like to avoid.
Does anybody know of a good case that has a bit of a cutout in the back that could accommodate this Qi coil without such a bulge? I was previously loving the first-party carbon fiber case but this bulge makes it much less good.
Any luck with this? My dbrand grip case is deteriorating so looking for the best option to work with the wireless charger. Leaning towards this one so I can cut my own recess if needed.
