[Q] Win7 system reports slow USB port when in CM Recovery - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm loading a ROM on this Nexus S i9020A. I have unlocked the bootloader and flashed CM 5.0.2.0.
When I boot into recovery, the Windows 7 host reports "This Device Can Perform Faster" and recommends moving the phone to a different port. However all ports on the computer are USB 2 or USB 3. I have tried other ports just in case and I get the same warning.
When I try to download files with ADB PUSH, it takes forever (5-10 minutes), indicating that it is probably running at USB 1 speeds.
Windows Device Manager reports that it is using the "Android Composite ADB Interface" as the USB driver for the phone.
I have performed a ROM update using the same procedure on another Nexus S on the same computer with the same drivers, and I did not have this issue.
Why does this happen, and how can I solve it? Is there something wrong with the phone or its USB port?

As a workaround, it seems to be possible to unplug the USB cable and plug it back into the same port. In the few times I tried it, it would correctly connect at full speed. There must be some timing issue when the USB port is initialized in CM Recovery that causes the problem with Windows.

[Q] USB problem, need Stock Recovery

I am in desperate need for a stock recovery.img for my LG-P509.
My stock android 2.2 was recognized by "LGMobile Support Tool" and updated to stock 2.2.2.
I rooted my phone with Gingerbreak, then i forgot to make a manual backup of my original recovery.img (thru a terminal emulator), then i installed a custom recovery (ClockworkMod 5.0.2.0 - Old BB), and then i did a full system backup.
Now my phone is no longer recognized thru usb by any computer so i can't run any computer based tools, I would want to flash an original firmware from LG thru the "LGMobile Support Tool" or "KDZ updater" (i already have an original "V10S_00.kdz" firmware from LG to restore everything), but the problem is i have no USB access.
I have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled the LG United Mobile Driver (USB Driver for Windows), LG Android Driver, LG USB WML Modem driver, LG SP Usb Driver Installed and LG Support Tool.
I've tried the different combinations of:
"USB Debugging" off, "Mass Storage Only" on with sd card
"USB Debugging" on, "Mass Storage Only" off without sd card
I did this on the win 7 machine that once recognized my phone, then i tried on another machine with win 7, then i tried on a fresh install of win 7 and none recognized the phone (about to try on a fresh xp instalation).
I tried "LGMDP-v1.5" and it also didn't recognize it.
The phone devices (either as a phone, lge modem or usb storage) do NOT show up on the device manager (either correctly installed or as a problem device).
The computers do not even make the usual peripheral sound when the phone gets pluggled in, but they do it with usb keys, mice, keyboards, etc.
The phone does recognize the usb connection because:
When plugged to the computer usb it starts charging and makes available the option "usb tethering" on the phone.
When plugged to an outlet with the same cable and a usb charger it starts charging but doesn't make available the option "usb tethering" (as expected).
I tried different cables and got the same result.
Tried reinstaling the USB hubs, tried rebooting with the phone plugged in, tried removing the WPD drivers (as per some threads online: wpdmtp.inf and .pnf)
I've installed different ROMS and been able to restore backups without issue; i feel like i've run out of options and hope that the original recovery.img gives an emergency option to be able to connect to a pc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, i've been at this non-stop for 2 days and going insanely frustrated.
Boot into recovery, then connect phone to pc, then it will be detected and will install drivers itself

I had tried booting into recovery mode and plugging it in and nothing happened, tried the same with emergency mode, then tried both with the pc off and then turning it on. (i did this with the clockworkmod 5.0.2.0 recovery and with amon-ra 3.0.6 recovery). I thought the usb port itself may be damaged but it still charges and the phone does recognize the presence of usb data capability (because of making the option "usb tethering available).

[Q] ADB not connecting

Not sure when USB stopped working but nothing I've done let's my HTC One X (AT&T) connect via usb. I'm running CM10.1 and have tried both MTP and USB Storage and none of my PC's will see my phone.
I'm running TWRP 2.5, which I just updated today. When I boot into recovery and mount USB, my PC shows nothing. I boot the phone into recovery and the fastboot line says fastboot AC instead of fastboot USB. I've tried 3 different cables, an older cable that came with a MyTouch 4G, the HOX cable, and a generic USB cable. All three cables work with my wife's HOX, though hers is stock.
I've also tried on two different laptops (one vista, one win7), my PC (win7), even ran an Ubuntu VM on my PC and nothing.
HTC Sync Manager has been installed and is currently uninstalled though I do see the HTC Driver in Programs so it is there. Some times when I plug the phone in I get an error from Windows about the USB device not installing right. One odd thing is I don't see the device anywhere in device manager, nothing other Other, Android Devices or anything like that.
Developer options are turned on, with Android debugging, USB debugging notify turned on. Root access is set to Apps and ADB.
I've tried other things I've found such as turning the phone off and plugging it into the USB and letting windows detect that way. Pretty much at a loss at this point.

Helping a gentleman with the same issue in another thread, it sounds to me like a hardware issue.

No USB access but need to root

I have a tf700 with a strange problem. When I plug it into the computer, it reports there is an error in the USB descriptor and doesn't install the drivers. I know the drivers are installed OK because I have a 2nd tf700 that installs fine. I also tried linux with no luck - lsusb reports nothing when I plug it in, but it does find the other tablet fine.
The error occurs in MTP, PTP, debugging option on or off, and fastboot. It charges normally through the port.
I disassembled the nonworking unit and swapped the port/cable assembly but the problem stayed with the tablet. I also reflashed stock from SD using the stock recovery with no effect.
My goal is to get root access and install TWRP. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a way to connect to adb wirelessly without root access or is there an older version of stock I can flash and self-root without a PC?
So it looks like I'm out of luck then?

[Q&A] Windows 7 drivers

Hi,
I'm using this CM 11 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2922500 but I have strange problem with my laptop. It periodically looses driver information for my device. I don't know how but when I re-installed my OS Windows 7 (32bit) it found the proper driver. Later I've got a message that my USB device is not recognized and can't connect to my device. Does anyone else have the same problem and do you know a fix? I've tried a lot and different driver versions but without success. Logcat doesn't show anything last time but I will try later or when I loose drivers again (it seems I cannot use USB again).
BTW I don't have this problem with my desktop PC which has always connected USB cable to it. Also everything works fine with CM 10.1, MIUI or Sense ROMs but they are based on lower Android versions.
P.S. I was trying to connect with another USB cable. I've found my cable that I used to install drivers and USB is working again. This is really strange behaviour
Logcat from device terminal
Logcat when plug in or out my USB connector is attached.

No Android devices even seen in Windows 10, let alone recognised?

Afternoon all,
Have been out of the rom'ing scene for a while...
I have a number of devices (Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Nexus 7 2012, to be exact), that I want to flash a new ROM onto (the Tab's stuck in a boot loop, the N7's due for Dirty Unicorns Nougat Rom).
All pretty straight forward - I've done it in the past - BUT...
Can I get Windows 10 to even *see* new hardware's been connected, let alone recognize it?
Can I fook
To confirm, I plug the USB between the PC and the device, and all that shows this is connected is that the device realises it's being charged, no "ding ding" from Windows, no USB confirmation from the device...
Both devices have USB Debugging enabled.
Have tried different USB cables
Have tried different USB ports
Have tried - many! - different USB drivers, including that from both Asus and Google's own dev kit.
Have ADB installed, "adb devices" shows no devices (blank).
The thing that's really pi**ing me off is that this is such a basic thing to be stuck by, I really cant figure out what I'm missing!
Any help appreciated gents...

Windows 10 is very buggy. Download lobit Drive Booster to see if you are missing any driver for your pc. Your pc is probably missing some drivers for the motherborad or outdated. If this does not work, clean install windows 10. Let windows 10 install all the drivers for you while it is installing. Best method. Good internet connection required.
its damn easy, the problem lies in Windows, just boot into repairmodus/system recovery its the blue menu for troubleshooting, there u choose Startup Setting and there u choose number 7,thats for disabling the digital driver signature checking, after the reboot all is fine, boot note u must do it everytime new after reboot.
please next ask and post in right section, thanx.
Nvidia USB driver (ADB and Fastboot) is the only one that works for me
