LG Fathom VX750 VX 750

Hi
I got a LG Fathom but I can't use it because it needs a activation through Verizon. I am in Canada. I am wondering if some one has the same issues. Or I can get the custom rom in it so I can use it on GSM network here in Canada without any activation from Verizon. Also how Can I test if its Unlocked or not? Please help me turn this brick into a usable phone. Thanks XDA

Don't know too much on this subject but I do know that if you look at all the apps you should have a "superuse" app which means its unlocked. Also Verizon doesn't use Sim cards so using it on a network that needs sim cards doesn't work to my knowledge.
LG Fathom does have the sim card
I does have sim card. It's a world phone but useless until activated. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks team
Also in Canada and also got an LG Fathom (aka VS 750). It seems the best way to use the phone outside of Verizon is to change the phone's "Network" mode to disable CDMA and use only "GSM/UMTS Mode", otherwise the phone will always ask to be activated whenever it is powered on.
To set the Network mode, in Windows go to "Settings" > "Personal" > "Phone".
In "Phone", click the tabs from "Sound" to "Security" to "GSM Services" to "Network".
In "Network", under "Mode of Operation", click on "GSM/UMTS Mode" and click "OK".
Your LG Fathom should now be ready for use outside of Verizon.
Next, get the phone's IMEI: in Windows go to "Settings" > "System" > "System Information".
In "System Information", click the tabs from "Version" to "Phone Info" -- the 15-digit IMEI (eg. 359943...) will be displayed below the MEID and the MDN.
Next, find a local phone provider that will support that IMEI. Most have web pages that will let you check your phone's IMEI (phone compatibility). I've just signed up with Koodo and that seems to be working now. Hope that helps.

[Q] Network or SIM card error.

If I flash any custom ROM that is not built on the stock/ota my phone appears to have some problems with the SIM card.
Specifically, if I go into settings->call settings->advanced it gives an error reading "Network or SIM card error." then it kicks me back to call settings, preventing me from making any changes.
This is a problem because I need to change the "my phone number" setting. If I go to settings->about phone->status it shows "unknown" under "my phone number" which in turn causes the phone to not associate my own contact entry with the phone, and it also causes problems for checking voicemail.
Strangely enough, I am still able to make phone calls, sent sms/mms, and connect to mobile data with no problem, so obviously the SIM card is working and is being read by the phone.
I would suspect that it is a problem with the SIM card, but if I flash back to stock, the problem goes away.
Any ideas anyone?

That happens with me also, running cm7 rom. But that`s not really an issue because there are not important settings over there. If you change any settings before the message pops up , settings will be saved after you exit the menu. Nothing to worry about- your phone and sim are fine:good:

SMS Issue Unlike any Other! PLEASE HELP!

Hi,
I moved on to CM11 M7 from stock 4.4.3 on my Nexus 5. My phone is now unable to send any text messages whatsoever! The SMSC Number in the service menu entered by dialing *#*#*4636#*#* is updated as: "+919810051914",145 (yes, with the quotes and the comma!). I am on Airtel network in India and the SMSC number for my network is +919810051914 only, I don't know the meaning of the quotes or the comma and the 145 at the end of the number. When I'm trying to update the 16 digit hex code for this number, I am constantly getting an 'update error' message. I have tried installing Go SMS and changing the SMSC number there but to no avail.
Also, when I tap on the menu button on the top right hand corner and click on 'Select radio band', I am getting the following options:
Automatic
USA Band (GSM-850/PCS-1900/WCDMA-850/WCDMA-PCS-1900)
USA Band (GSM-850/PCS-1900/WCDMA-850/WCDMA-PCS-1900)
JAPAN Band (WCDMA-800/WCDMA-IMT-2000)
None of the above match the frequencies used in India, could this be causing an issue?
Also, when I select 'WCDMA Preferred' from the drop down list under 'Set preferred network type:', it automatically changes to 'LTE/GSM auto (PRL)', why does it do that? Could this be causing a problem for me?
All this started after I flashed CM11 and previously PA 4.4 RC2. When I had first flashed PA, my phone did not have any network service at all and I had to manually flash the M897A radio, I don't know why that happened either!
Please help me out guys!
Just checked a friend's Nexus 5, it has the SMSC number entered in the same format and the 'Set preferred network type:' also has 'LTE/GSM auto (PRL)' just like my phone, however, his phone has only 'USA Band' as option under the 'Select radio band' option and he can send texts without any issues. Any help on this would be highly appreciated!

Firm wire issue problem

Hi...I am using a galaxy note 5 which was bought from usa under verizon mobile phone company which I believe to be unlocked since I can use my local sim carrier in this device. The problem is that.... I am facing with software update. You see the software update option is very much supposed to be in this pattern.....
settings>about device>software update.
But I am seeing the software update option directly inside the settings option, right underneath 'about device' option rather than seeing inside 'about device' option which really confuse me. And also upon clicking on software update which is located underneath about device (ofcourse -_-) Says that 'software update is temporarily unavailable'.
And 2nd issue is I cant find this device's imei number. Of course I know the procedure of finding imei number which is open dial pad and dial *#06#. But when ever I dial *#06# the dial pad remain unchanged rather than popping up the imei number.
Please guys help me out with this issues

Is there a way to change this number - Settings>About Phone>Status>My Phone Number

Is there a way to change this number - Settings>About Phone>Status>My Phone Number
I have always kept my phone number (20 Years+) So whenever I change networks I get my port code and move on to the next network and that means whenever I put a new SIM in my phone I have to get the network to update my new SIM with my old number
The only problem with that is the SIM has it's own "Default Phone Number" Assigned to it and it always displays in my Settings>About Phone>Status>My Phone Number
It always bothers me so now it's time for a change, If it can be done?
borrow an iphone from you friend
