Android police have leaked the new camera apk from the moto x which is due to be released in August.
Here is the link if anyone can get this to work
I have tried several ways but no luck I've tried system /app. Data/app still no go if anyone has succeeded in getting it to work please share

I uninstall all the cams and it isnt working

Did you try to reboot? It works for me. Maybe it needs an wipe cache too.

Tried that removed stock camera then Google camera went to recovery wiped cache fixed permission still no go. Are you on stock original or omars stock Rom

Stock original. But let me give you an advice. It not worth. It is slow and some features doesn't work.

I haven't a bloody clue I even went back to stock original just to test it and I can't get it working now i'm back on omars and it doesn't work....

Works, but gallery force closes when trying to edit a picture, and camera "loses" the path to gallery...

I only use the camera not the gallery...I use the 4.3camera and gallery try that but make sure you don't have the 4.2 camera in system/apps and put the 4.3camera in system/data and set permission then reboot all work's gallery and editing....

I'm pretty sure it hasn't been ported to any other roms and requires the miui framwork therefore you have to be on miui to use it.
If you still want to try, just download the rom, extract it on your desktop, and find the apk from somewhere inside, then install it on your phone.
I'll post the apk in a few. I'm using miui 2.3.5 make sure you cipy the apk to system/app folder with a root file explorer and also fix the permission like this rw-r--r-- then reboot

Like stock YouTube app but need to switch to another app as it doesn't have download option.
Here is the solution :
Try this edited YouTube app with download option. You can access it via 'more' option on right upward option on screen.

It downloads the video with right resolution for your phone.
NOTE :- I did not edit the app, just sharing.
AND after starting download you can't stop it.
It only works in Gingerbread and Ice cream sandwich.

I didn't delete the stock and it works fine. One says rolle in the icon. That's the modded apk

So I can download the videos into my SD card with this?
Installation,
Go to system folder and rename contacts.apk in to contacts.apk1.
Then paste this contacts.apk in system folder and set permissions like all other apks.
Finnish by reboot.
Edit, for stock non custom roms. Delete or move odex file on sd.

My phone and contacts icons are missing. Only 3 icons at the bottom of the screen.

Hi, I have a Nexus S i9023 with stock 4.1.1, and i try to install CM10, all ok.
My issue is a bug with notification bar, it's cut with two roms, the stock and CM10.

I grabbed MotCamera.apk and MotCamera.odex from /system/priv-app/ I lost my login credentials so I need the 10 posts before I can post links. Feel free to PM me for a mega.co.nz link.
Please let me know if you need anything else for this to work, as this was pulled from 4.4 on a VZ Dev model and I don't believe there's any difference here, I could be wrong.

For some reason, XDA doesn't like .odex files being uploaded.
Hey guys I need some help! After I installed MotoCamera.apk, I get force close when after I take pictures.
Unfortunately I didn't make a backup of my previous Moto Camera.
Fix: use Root Explorer to push BOTH MotCamera.odex and MotCamera.apk into /system/app
