Back to stock hboot question - HTC Sensation

Hi. I wanted to go back to stock.
RUU flashed, bootloader status locked, hboot 1.18.
How do I know that hboot is original and it is safe to s-on?
Best regards, Mike

Do you have an HTC sensation or HTC sensation XE? Because HTC sensation/XE does not have hboot of 1.44. Also, there's not really a "stock hboot". Android 2.3 (gingerbread) uses hboot version 1.18 and android 4.0+ uses 1.27 or 1.29 hboot.

Hi,
Look HERE
S-on is fully explained.

I saw that, but after reading this I'm not sure if my hboot is signed one and it is safe to execute "fastboot oem writesecureflag 3"
I was messing with hboot a lot in the past, dunno what is flashed to the phone now.
So the question is: how to make sure that my hboot is stock one to perform s-on command?

A ruu should return you to stock hboot.
And, in case you have any doubts, the HTC unbricking project can solve brick caused by s on with incorrect hboot.
JAM THAT THANKS BUTTON.
Happy to help.

hello
i wanna flash the original htc hboot 1.17.0011 s-off .
where i can find it ?
thanks
do you mean the ENG H-BOOT?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1122053&highlight=eng+hboot
No,ENG S-OFF is 008.You can flash the original hboot 0011 from an official rom via fastboot

I take it you keep the S-OFF doing that? I'm using the ENG S-OFF but is there really any advantage to it bar a few extra HBOOT commands?
EDIT: The HBOOT from the 1.35.401.1 RUU isn't an IMG file - can it still be flashed?

yes you can rename it as hboot.img and flash it via fastboot..I prefer you guys to use revolutionary, which enabled fastboot and version higher than eng(eng is the same as 1.17.0008)

Download, rename to PG58IMG,put in root of SD,go to bootloader it will ask for update. Say yes to update, You will have 1.17.0011 after the update.

S-OFF isn't affected by flashing an HBOOT (I don't think). I'll try it now and let you know

Only reason I used the ENG S-OFF was to get rid of the 'Revolutionary' banner at the top - like it to look OEM
now i have ship HBoot: 1.17.0011 s-off
i will try now the performance on the phone
Yeah, flashed it on mine and still S-OFF
Please share the file. Thank you.

Why do you need it ? Did you have S-OFFed your Sensation?
Do you know how flash a PG85IMG.ZIP into the NAND in your Sensation?
I have a image file which included hboot ver 1.17.0011 PVT SHIP S-OFF attached below.
Are you sure you need it?
It maybe brick your phone, the risks and responsibilities all are yours when you flash your phone! This HBOOT only tested on my HTC Sensation!
There has only been one eng hboot leaked and it's .0008
Flash a stock hboot onto a phone that is radio S-OFF and it will say SHIP S-OFF. Ship is stock and S-OFF, when ENG is not written, means radio S-OFF.
On previous HTC phones you could have ENG S-OFF without radio S-OFF, and the hboot would fool the radio into thinking that the phone was S-OFF even though it wasn't radio S-OFF. It's unlikely that would work with the Sensation unless the eng hboot was signed, and the one that has leaked isn't.
Revolutionary is a special kind of hboot. It still says SHIP in the bootloader but it's custom and has some extra fastboot commands (like 'fastboot flash'), so in many ways it acts like an eng hboot. So if you run Revolutionary, you get radio S-OFF and a custom hboot. Your phone will still be S-OFF after running a RUU but you'll overwrite the Revolutionary custom hboot with a stock one.

What does new Hboot does?

is it advised to change hboot to 1.29?

I would advise to flash a jb_hboot because juopunutbear hboot has unlocked extended fastboot commands whereas 1.29 doesnt.
As to what has changed from 1.27.x to 1.29.x well Im afraid htc doesnt release changelog so to be perfectly blunt, we dont know

[Changing HBOOT 1.27 to Engineering SPL] how?

Hello,
I have S-OFF sensation with 1.27 Revolutionary HBOOT. I wanted to change it to Engineering SPL HBOOT but I can't find anything related to 1.27, only this: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/HTC_Sensation:_Support_Downloads
I is ok to flash it over 1.27? Or there is better method?
Thanks in advance.

that hboot is of gingerbread one ..and flashing it would result in bootloop of your current OS
the revolutionary hboot is a patched semi eng-hboot (it has all the important features of eng-hboot patched to it ) ..no need to change it

i don't think so, revolutionary didn't had all features I wanted. So the process was flash 1.17 (yes bootloops) -> do anything -> flash 1.27.

Yeah I was dissapointed a bit, because I've heard that 1.27.1100 had full support but np for me :good:.

[Q] How to remove ENG HBOOT?

Hey guys,
I want to change my MID. For this reason I have to flash ENG HBOOT.
1.) I cant find a link to download the ENG HBOOT
The link form this thread is no longer available:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193033
EDIT: I found it here:
http://www.share-online.biz/dl/EOEPEAQLFF
2.) After flashing the ENG HBOOT and changing the MID, I want to flash the latest gingerbread RUU for my phone:
RUU_Pyramid_HTC_Europe_1.50.401.1_Radio_10.56.9035 .00U_10.14.9035.01_M_release_223042_signed.exe
Do I have to remove the ENG HBOOT before flashing the RUU or will ENG HBOOT be replaced with the stock HBOOT?
Or how can I remove the ENG HBOOT? (because I read, that ICS will not boot with ENG HBOOT)
Thank you in advance

[Q] Return to full stock

So, I have done a lot of research and I am hung up on one bit.
I have the stock RUU file on my PC.
I also have superCID . I am rooted with S-OFF
Think i used Revolutionary etc. Currently using ARHD 6.8.0
I want to return to Full Stock with S-ON. I looked at this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
But it doesn't say if I need to change my CID back to VODAP001 before or after (Or at all) I flash the Stock RUU. <hope that makes sense?
Could anyone help me?
I basically have the RUU. and need to know about the CID. Does it need to be changed?
Thanks
Just seen this actually
I can confirm SuperCID is successful as i just flashed a Tmous Rom (1.25.***) to my EU unbranded device to check. (added t-mobile tv and other carrier stuff to my apps list)
Does ^ this mean I can run the RUU with my SUPER CID?
Then just S-On once done??
thanks again.

Hi,
If you are returning your phone for warranty purposes, you need to return your SuperCID to normal.
This should be done after running your RUU,but before going back to s-on.
Look HERE for more information.

Cool, well the RUU I have will need the VODAP001 *** (I think it's that, will check before I attempt lol)
So I flash the RUU then I can use this:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid ******* Replacing the *'s with the CID I need.
Once done, can then return to S-ON

also about S-ON read carefully what it is saying about bootloader
your bootloader must be LOCKED, RELOCKED or UNLOCKED otherwise don't do S-ON

Was just about to post. Successfully flashed the RUU and changed CID to VODAP001, phone boots and works fine!!!
But in bootloader it doesn't mention, locked, unlocked or relocked.
Previously to the Update, it said ***LOCKED***
Now I got just this:
Pyramid PVT Ship S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.17.0006
RADIO-10.11.9007.09_M2
eMMC-boot
What do I need to do to S-ON???

Sorry, I actually mean, before I restored the RUU it said locked. Now it doesnt mention anything.
It no longer says that, or unlocked / relocked.
So I haven't proceeded with the S-ON command.

Hi,
No.
If you ran a RUU,then, everything would have returned to stock.
S-off is not affected.
So,to get back up and running, you will need to do all these things again.
