[Q] ZTE V970M JB+extended userdata and app encrypted? - ZTE Grand X V970

I have flashed my V970M with extended user data mod and JB ROM v1.2 from bgcngm using instruction from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1856578
After flashing, everything seem to work fine except that I lost my ADW Luncher's widgets and default keyboard switch back from SwiftKey to stock one every time I reboot my phone. (Same problem as here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38610252&postcount=1433)
After some investigation, I found that ADW and SwiftKey got installed in /mnt/asec/dm-X instead of /data. Link2SD flag them as "encrypted" (I didn't turn on the "Encrypt" option in the setting). By using Link2SD's "Move to Phone", I'm able to move ADW to /data and then it will work fine, keeping its widget after reboot. But moving SwiftKey will cause it to crash.
So, how could I prevent app from being installed to /mnt/asec in the first place?
Thanks.

Install it to ur sd card
Try copying files to the app/data folder by using the folder mount app
This should fix ur problem:thumbup:

Just found that this might be a bug in JB:
code DOT google DOT com/p/android/issues/detail?id=34880
Many user suggest using Titanium Backup as a work around as described here:
code DOT google DOT com/p/android/issues/detail?id=34880#c140
I also found something call Xposed that modify Play Store to disable app encryption.
www DOT modaco DOT com/topic/361776-xmod-disable-play-store-encryption-mntasec/
I think I will try Titanium Backup first. Since I have problem with only a few paid apps.

Installing Play/Android Market App? (please see details)

My Nexus S 4G's power button stopped working. For better or for worse, I decided to install a new ROM without dealing with this problem. The install was fine, however I used ROM Manager to do it and for some reason it didn't install the gapps; I don't have the Google Play/Android Market app, and don't know how to get it. Keep in mind that my power button doesn't work, so I can't just install gapps from a .zip (which I do have but are unavailable).
Is there a way I can download the gapps with the default browser, or even just putting a file onto the SD? Even if it's just the market, I should be able to restore everything fine with that. Any help is appreciated, thank you.
1) download this file. http://db.tt/bJd0WZOq
3)install root explorer
2) copy the downloaded file to /system/app. Via root explorer
4) restart your phone!!
Hope this helped you!!

Ok so false alarm on the success. I managed to download the .apk of Titanium Backup and restore my apps and data, however my phone is not synched with a Google account (there was strangely no option for it when I booted the ROM) and I don't have any gapps nor do I have access to the market (Google Play Store closes immediately when I attempt to open it). Any suggestions for a solution?
I also installed the Gmail .apk and it also closes immediately.
Its simple .. you are not logged in!
Go to settings and then account and select Gmail or login to your Gmail
And synchronize it!!
It should fix the problem.

Well as I said, when booting the ROM there was no option for logging in. Strangely, there is also no option for Gmail under Accounts, only "Email", "Corporate", and "Dropbox". Could it be a problem with the ROM? I'm using Android Open Kang Project (AOKP) Milestone 4
Can you backup and flash a different ROM?
Well I suppose I could. I was hoping it wasn't a ROM issue, since I liked this ROM, but I if that's the heart of the issue than I have to.

New to rooting. Applications aren't working.

Recently rooted Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. As of now I'm running Cyanogen Mod 10. Before that I was using Cyanogen Mod 9.0. However I've experienced the same issue with both roms. My favorite apps wouldnt open. However Google play store works so I figured its not my gapps.
1) Spotify- just shows a blank screen nothing else.
2) Evernote- not able to create the database file and tells me to restart the device and make sure my memory card isn't full.
3). Lecture Note- App needs a directory at the media/shared/external storage (SD card) to store the notebook.
So just by searching the forum and not seeing much on the topic, I figured I missed something in the process.
I don't use titanium backup and neither am I familiar with it. But if I have to learn then please tell me so.
I've always wiped before flashing roms.
I know CM 10 is a nightly and all that jive but I really like it. But without apps working then it is useless for me.
Oh and not sure if this is related but every download from a hyperlink on a web page results in a download unsuccessful.

May be try to reflash rom again latest nightly for your specific device + flash gapps jellybean not ics + full wipe after flashing those (wipe cash+wipe dalvik cash in advanced options)
If not working so try wipe data of apps you want in setting
If not so send messages to developers may be their apps not compatible with jellybean need update

I too am having problems with certain apps not working, mine are more job specific such as the Cadillac mobile workbench and Cadillac mobile showroom. My Chevy components work no problem tho
However I m not new to rooting

Netflix
My device P5113 4.04 stock
I rooted using this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1657056 but now netflix will load up, and I go to play a video and load forever then i get error 11003(note netflix works fine on my phone/ps3).
Does any body know a fix for this?
The original reason i rooted was to attempt to move the notification bar to the top (i hate it at the bottom b/c I constantly hit buttons). So i tried to do this:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/18063-move-the-status-bar/
(1) download ES File Explorer
(2) go to settings and activate root explorer and mount r/w
(3) navigate to /system/
(4) click on build.prop and select "ES Note Editor"
(5) look for the line item called "ro.sf.lcd_density=160"
(6) edit it to read "ro.sf.lcd_density=161"
(7) exit and save the file
(8) reboot
Click to collapse
and I broke android(would not boot, go only a black screen) b/c i added this to the file, because i didn't find it, so i had to reinstall.
So my other question is is there anyway to move the status/notification bar to the top? Im about to go back to stock but, i will root again if i can fix netflix.

Thanks you, i will come back this rom, and test again,
now i use rom "eng-070113-ICySNAP-v1.6-SKYFALL-FINAL-LGEUI3.1-CM9.1.5_signed"
But have a problem: can not install "Power ARM music player"
it show a message box " not enough memory" but memory device free about 100Mb?
Link2SD does work in this ROM, I'm using it. At least, the build 3 that Rashed made. You just have to delete some system apps to enable Link2SD to mount the ext partition.

Uninstall an app that you don't use anymore and give a reboot to device and try to install again the app.

Go to mms app > press menu button > go to settings > and search for sound & vibration or vibrate and enable it
Anyway in settings of mms app you'll find the setting of vibrations only that you have to enable it

what should I delete to make Link2sd work on cyanogenmod 10.1 (4.2.1) Galaxy S3 ? it detected the 2nd partition, linked perfectly with no error but the app that i linked doesn't run. and also the linked app does not listed under "Linked"
I pop in the card into the card reader, the apk is in there on the 2nd partition
It work perfectly before i moved to cyanogenmod 10.1 (previously I used UltimaROM)
Try INT2EXT4+
Not sure if this can work, I use INT2EXT4 on my JB 4.1.2 and it works fine for me. I think you can give it a try.
It link Internal Storage to SD ext2 and it's tranparent to the system.
You need to partition your sdcard first though. I am using CWM to help me to do so.
Flashing Instruction:
ROM-->INT2EXT4+ --> Gapps (I am using this)
or
ROM-->Gapps-->INT2EXT4+

I'm using the same ROM and I couldn't get Int2ext to work. But I am using Link2sd. I had the same problem at first though, that it couldn't create link script. The solution I found was to flash the ROM, boot and install/set up link2sd, then flash gapps.

Hello , I had the same problem , but here's the solution
When you partition the sd card instead of using the extension ext2 use FAT32 here I use the CM 10.1 galaxy grand duos and works perfectly .
*The Link2SD did not recognize the ext2 partition then just change the type .
1 do not know what program you use to format , but here in Brazil Mini Partition Tool is guaranteed success then one has to install (I am new here and do not know if I could put the link)
2 Plug the card Sd on pc using a adapter or , Delete partitions previously created , create a new partition with the format fat32 , set the size that should be left NO MINIMUM 600MB example if the card is 16 Gb set the size of this first partition 15,400 ( just an example sizes are not exact )
3 Create a new partition in the space that's left ( to 600MB ) with the same format (Primary , FAT32 ) , apply, and after the end of the process remove the sd card and connect the Smartphone download Link2SD configure fat32 , go to settings and tap Link on automatically and last but not least be happy! !
Note * Sorry for my English is bad.

Troubles in converting user apps as system apps

Hi every one.
I am new here. So I'm writing with all the details I can think of.
I'm using HTC desire x jelly bean in India. I've temp rooted the device. Now I run with a twrp touch screen edition revovery. I run the stock version (with odex) Rom. The only changes I made is removal of some bloatware.
The main reason I've rooted my device is to save space by pushing non movable and frequently used apps to system/app .
Since I only have temp root, The way I'm making user apps as system app is as follows
1. creating a backup Apk file either by manually copying from data/app or by clean master.
2 uninstall the app.
3 after entering the twrp recovery, I move the Apk files to system/app ( I don't create any odex files for the moved app)
4 reboot after wiping dalvik & cache.
Its a working method. But my problem is that several apps both that I frequently uses and high size are cannot converted into system apps. After making such apps as system apps, when I try to open them it force closes, crashes, or misbehaving (eg. Shows No internet connectivity even if I'm connected to web). I tried odexing the user Apk. But it not seems to be the problem. I like to know
1 why is this happening.
2 can I identify such apps before moving it to the /system/app
3 how/can I solve this isue ( I don't own a pc).
4 I am writing a list of apps that I've already tried and failed to convert as system apps. If there is no general methods can you suggest methods for the following apps
Quick pick
Mx player
BS player
Chrome
Adobe reader
Google plus
Opera mini
Opera
Google Maps
RAR
Mozilla Firefox
Freecharge
Advance download manager
Google search
Dolphin browser Jetpack
Chess free
Thanks in advance.

Integration of System Updates to ROM with TB fails

Hi,
anyone else with the same Problem?
Since KitKat (and still with Lollipop 5.1.1) the Titanium Backup function to include Systemapp Updates to the ROM fails. Happens at all Google Apps, FileCommander and Sony Apps.
There is no Error Message. In some cases it only deletes the App completeley and in other cases the progress is running endless (tested for 1 Hour without completion).
Device is Bootloader unlocked, rooted (SuperSU)....... any Hints?
Hmm I had no issue with kitkat, but it definitely does not work with lollipop.
Issue is with tb it's not going to create a subfolder and put libs in subfolder.
If you want to integrate apps, copy the apk from data directory and paste it over system apk, and then replace all the libs using same process.
Reboot phone so it optimized new system apk, then under normal application management uninstall app and replace with factory version (which will be new version)
Reboot and you should be good, restore data if you need to.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using XDA Free mobile app
Can you give me the necessary Directorys for Internal Memory Apps and System Apps, please?
It's /data/app/ and system apps are either in /system/app or /system/priv-app/
If you go into TB backup/restore, find the app, touch it for more options, right under the freeze option touch the name and it'll give you exact locations as well
Sent from my SCH-I545 using XDA Free mobile app
Hi!
Is TB do an update to fix this bug ?
I try to contact them to many times and no one answer me.
Did you find another app to do that ?
Did you still with manual methode ?
Tks
Still broken, only manual method works.
It's like it can't make subfolders in system
Just do it manually not so bad. Copy the updated files from data to system app folder, change permissions and hot reboot.
Android will do the rest.. no data loss or having to install/uninstall.
