[Q] Please help, I may have possibly bricked my One X. - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

My problems started a couple days ago, when my phone wouldn't connect to my computer...I didn't get a connection sound, a pop up, or any kind of indication it was connected (nothing in device manager and I have the lastest drivers installed.) It's strange though, my phone charges via usb. I also tried two other computers and nothing worked. So I flashed a CM10.1 rom and I went to flash a theme and everything went wrong. I was stuck in a boot loop and I couldn't access my recovery (twrp 2.3.1) so i was forced to perform a factory reset via the bootloader. I did that, and my sd card became corrupt. It completely erased everything off my phone. I can now access my recovery but if I try to do anything (wipe, etc) I get "E:Unable to mount storage." I also can't mount USB Storage because my phone won't connect to any computer, so am I screwed? :.( If you can help, please help...your help will be greatly appreciated. I'm even willing to compensate...
I forgot to add...Fastboot and adb is also not working for me. I've literally tried everything to my knowledge.

Wipe your SDCARD in TWRP, then try mounting it.
For future reference, factory reset in bootloader corrupts the SD card if your bootloader is unlocked.

Factory reset in bootloader is never an option if you're rooted/unlocked.

uninstall drivers/software for any and all phones on your PC
Install latest HTC sync
uninstall HTC sync, leave HTC drivers, then try and get a fastboot connection.

Try a linux live USB or a VM to get a fastboot connection. Trying to figure out what's interfering with fastboot could take forever. When you do get fastboot working. Flash twrp 2.6 and wipe your SD card with it.

Don't believe so, you'll need to use a PC in some way for this.

What did you decide on VM or Linux liveusb?
I know twrp 2.6 can wipe a corrupt SD card but maybe cwm can too? If so you might be able to use ROM manager? To flash cwm and use cwm to wipe SD?

[Q] Failed to install Custom Rom, now stuck in TWRP with no rom to flash.

So I have been using Hassoon 2000's HTC One X All-in-One Kit to unlock the boatloader, flash TWRP 2.3.1.0 recovery, and finally install the latest version of "Clean ROM."
I tried a couple times before and after flashing the rom to boot into the white bootloader by powering on while holding the power button but it didn't seem to work so I have been using Hassoon2000's tool to send a command to boot into bootloader.
I "successfully" installed Clean ROM but it kept cycling "Unfortunately process com.android.com stopped" or something very similar, and then it would reboot and try it again. BEFORE doing this I wiped the cache and dalvik cache but that was it.
SO, I rebooted into TWRP and tried wiping everything. Cache, Dalvik Cache, and System worked but Factory Reset, External Storage, and Android Secure all say "FAILED."
So then I went into "mount" which prompted Windows to open a Window that said "You need to format the disk in drive x: before you can use it." I have NOT clicked "format disk" because I'm not sure what it is formatting. Before hitting "Mount USB Storage" there are 4 buttons to check 1) Mount System, 2) Mount Data, 3) Mount Cache, and 4) Mount SD Card. I can get the first 3 to check and say "Unmount" but I CANNOT get the SD card to "check."
Now that I've gone back into into Install it shows /sdcard and there is only one folder there which is TWRP. So I no longer have my "cleanrom.zip" on there because the SD has somehow been wiped. I guess when I wiped System it also wiped the SD card because the first time I installed cleanrom, I don't think it deleted the SD card.
Now I am scared to exit TWRP before know how to get a custom rom .zip BACK onto the sdcard so I can, you know, have a rom to boot into since mine has been wiped.
So that is the first problem. The second will hopefully be resolved (the com.android.phone problem) once I re-flash because when I searched the forums for the same error everyone recommended to wipe everything and I had only wiped the cache and dalvik cache...
Any help please...?
I'll help you out

Let your computer recognize your phone, bring up"my computer" and right click on removable storage. Hit "format" only bad thing you'll be wiped out. Once it formats, mount in recovery. Download a fresh copy of cleanrom to your comp, and drag it to phone. Flash entire cleanrom 5.1 through twrp.
Now you back on a stable rom to work with.
If you try anything else you'll have to use flash GUI app or fastboot kernels

CheesyNutz: Thanks for pointing that out, I really did not see that sticky so I won't ask anymore questions in General...
InflatedTitan: Thanks for the help. When you say "mount in recovery" does that mean I will need to do the Power on with Volume Up trick? Or will I remain in TWRP? That's the only thing I'm afraid of is not being able to get back into bootloader or TWRP...
I've always flashed roms through CWR (and now TWRP) so I am not very familiar with the "manual" way. (i.e. I'm lazy.)

Hi all,
My evita was a bit slow so I performed a factory reset from the bootloader... stupid idea as it removed the OS (ROM) from my SD. I tried to push a ROM in the device, it said it was successful but there is still nothing on my SD card.
In the bootloader adb is not detecting my phone, fastboot is working though. Sideload is not working.
When i try to wipe anything from TRWP it says : it says "failed to mount 'sdcard' (invalid argument)"

Bricked After trying to install CM10

After trying to install CM10 Via TWRP my phone hung on the CM10 splash page.
I have tried to reinstall CM10 and I keep having the same problem.
I'm able to access TWRP but for some odd reason I can't mount my sd card properly. I'm not able to click "Mount sd card" on the "mount" page in TWRP. That being said I can't backup my phone from a previous backup.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried holding down the power and volume down button for longer then 10 seconds or longer? this should force restart your phone, get into TWRP and try an other Rom for now, also did you try an international rom? international roms will not work.
UPDATE: I'm guessing your also can't recover your last back up because your on HBOOT 1.14 S-ON? 1.14 will not recover boot.img's
If you manage to get it to mount to your computer (Check your drivers are installed also, EG htc sync usb drivers) then look for a "one click boot img flash" unless you know how to flash them using fastboot commands, whenever you are to flash a room, extract the boot.img from the zip file, flash that in fastboot, THEN go to recovery and flash a rom. same goes for backups. S-off is a hassle.
My computer recognizes that the phone is being plugged into the computer but it can't install the proper drivers.
Sadly I can't get my phone to go into recovery either.

when in twrp recovery.
1. delete cache, dav. cache, and system restore.
2. reinstall the gapp files and the CM10 zip file.
3. reboot
The issue is that I can't get into TWRP
what did you do to it? phones don't just die and cm10 didn't kill it. are you sure you flashed cm10 for the evita?
also try flashing this version of twrp openrecovery-twrp-2.3.3.1-evita.img
also run "fastboot erase cache" after flashing then try going into recovery and wiping cache, dalvik, and external

well if you've unlocked your bootloader you cant upgrade with anything to do with htc and that's sure to mess with it. you're on your own sources of updates, no OTA nothing. You need to install htc sync and adb drivers for your phone if that still doesnt detect then its a usb brick and I'm of no hope but others may be

I can only get my computer to recognize that the phone is connected to my computer if I'm in Fastboot mode.
If you can't mount from recovery the sd got corrupted happened to me they have a fix if you do a few searchs. If you locked the bootoader and the computer only recognizes in fastboot that is good now run a RUU like 1.85

[Q] Can't go into USB fastboot or mount USB storage in TWRP

Basically I can't go into USB fastboot or mount USB storage in TWRP. In recovery I kept getting these errors:
E:Unable to mount '/sdcard/ (tw_mount)
E: Failed to mount /sdcard (Invalid argument)
I'm reading somewhere that I should't have done a factory reset in the bootloader, but somewhere along the way I wiped my sdcard so I have nothing to flash in my phone..
Basically all this started happening after I dropped my phone in the afternoon while it was charging. It worked fine for a while, but then it hanged then started bootlooping, so I did the factory reset. I'm seriously hoping it's not a hardware issue.. My USB cable was functional the last time I used it to flash stuff, and it can still be used to charge the phone, so..
I was on 2.20, S-on, TWRP 2.2 and was running rohan32's b7 kernel and KK m1 rom. Haven't been here in a while since everything was working fine..
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
What the heck, this questions has been asked like 3 times today.
Connect the phone to a Windows PC, open Device Manager. There you should have the option to format. Format as FAT32, and this should fix the SD card corruption.
Factory reset in hboot corrupts the SD. Only factory reset in TWRP.
Yeah I read that too. I would if I could but my PC isn't detecting my phone. fastboot devices, adb devices show nothing too.
Since that's that I'm gonna just hope it's just that my usb cable got damaged when I dropped it or something, get another cable and give it a try in a few hours.
Adb will only detect if you are in recovery or fully booted and fastboot will work well yeah that's obvious when

You can boot to recovery but not Fastboot? Can you use TWRP to reboot the phone into the bootloader, have you tried that?
I had a similar problem, I ended up using Evita toolkit to update TWRP to the latest 2.4.2.0 version: http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/99
Then I could use Mount option to mount the External Storage again, dumped my choice of ROM onto it and flash it.
hello there
i had the exact same problem as the author of this post except i used CleanROM5.1 (everything else the same)
my phone started rebooting faster and faster in look until it wouldnt get past the logo screen
i have tried every trick in this forum no success
came down to this post which seemed to look the best, as i seem to have the same problem of SDCARD not being recognized by phone
so i plugged it to the laptop on TWRP recovery and formatted the card
no success
PS.. i used a Mac to format the card, and it has the MS-DOS FAT option closest to the FAT32 sdcard filing system
are the 2 the same ? is that where my problem is? wrong file format when i formatted the card?
PLEASE HELP... I WORK IN A HOSPITAL AND ONCALL AND NEED THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED ASAP TONIGHT!
That could be the problem... FAT is not the same as FAT32.

[Q] One S Stuck in bootloop after installing Viper 3.0.0

Hi Guys,
Yesterday I installed Viper One S 3.0.0 on my Phone.
Installation went ok. Used TWRP by the way.
After the message of succesful installation i rebooted the Phone.
Now it's stuck in a bootloop. I can get into recovery, but there I cannot do anything. It doesn't seem to see the Internal storage, so restoring the backup I made of the stock ROM is also not possible.
Anyone an idea how to get this ROM to work, or how I can get back to the Stock firmware? I kinda need this Phone.
And does anyone know if the SD card is wiped? Or just not visible?
Any help would be much appriciated.:good::good::good:

Hi,
I had the same problem, i had installed the viper rom twice (second time without wiping) and then it worked. I also had the 'no ds card found' error. This fixed it for me:
1) Use the All-in-One-Kit and flash your recovery back to stock
2) Boot into the bootloader and choose to "clear storage" and afterwards to reset to factory defaults.
3) Go back to the all-in-one-kit and flash a CWM recovery version again.
4) Reboot into recovery (CWM). Your /sdcard should now be mounted and visible.

Thanks for the update. I have the Toolkit, but which button is for the Stock Recovery?
Ok so I'm a bit further. I Flashed an Original Recovery I found in the thread of the Toolkit. That didn't boot.
But afterwards I flashed the TWRP again. Now I see the SD card again.
Only problem now is to send a ROM to the SD card for installation.
ADB is not working properly on my WIndows 7 X64 machine.
Anybody any ideas on that??

Ok so I'm a bit further. I Flashed an Original Recovery I found in the thread of the Toolkit. That didn't boot.

TWRP has a mount option. Connect your device to your computer then press MOUNT from twrp. That should solve your problem.

You can reboot your phone in recovery, in TWRP select mount, wait a minute, and then Windows 8 should 'see' your device

Hi Guys,
Got everything working again.
USB connected to my WIN8 machine after all, and i was able to copy the Viper 3.1.0 rom to the SD.
After 2 times installation (1 with TWRP Wipe, and then 1 with Wipe from Aroma installer) it worked.
1st install worked until I rebooted. Then bootloop again.
2nd time wipe from Aroma and all is working fine now.
Everybody thank you for helping. Much appriciated.:good::good::good::good::good:

Nice going! goed gedaan!
Just 1 little thing I found. Maybe someone knows how to fix it.
Every now and then the Phone just reboots. Then it works fine for a while. Is this a known issue?
Besides that I'm loving this ROM. It's fast, customizable it just works great!! Respect to the Developer!!
