For about a month now my phone has been randomly restarting into qhsusb_dload.
I flashed the international ICJ, bricked my phone, sent it away for repairs. I sent it to mobiletechvideos, they repaired the brick and gave me s-off.
After the repairs it worked fine for ~1 month.
Now, the phone will almost always boot to qhsusb, though I can get it to boot into the rom/recovery/bootloader.
I've tried changing roms and even hboot versions but I'm too inexperienced to track down the problem.
I'm confused as to your problem... qhusb_dload is a complete brick, yet you say that you can fix it?

I'm just as confused as you.
My phone will spontaneously shut down, no lights or anything. When I plug it in and check device manager I see the qhsusb_dload.
But then after I give it some time and fondle the buttons just right it reboots and I'm back to my bootloader.
I can boot into a rom but it usually doesn't last very long (~1hour) before I get a reboot.
The phone isn't always completely bricked...just sometimes?
It is possible to enter that mode without bricking. Typically holding volume up instead of volume down which goes in to recovery, when booting.
How often does it happen?
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app
It happens about half the time when at boot it and then frequently at rom startup. I've never had any trouble booting into recovery or the bootloader, and it does seem more frequent when the battery is under 40% (but that just may be me.)
I'd say it's down 75% of the time.
Is your phone s-off?
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app
Yes, but I paid to have it done so I don't know how it was s-offed
So long as its soff in the boot loader that's all that matters. Its a pain in the ass but I would ruu and stay stock to see if it keeps happening.

Ran the RUU, now my phone won't boot to a rom. I can still get to the bootloader and the recovery though. All I get is a boot loop to the htc white screen if I let it do it's thing.
Ruu and stay stock for a while to see if it keeps happening while stock.

I've been having a bit of a hard time with a friend's Skyrocket tonight. I flashed CM9 for her before, and it seems to work well. In the past two to three weeks, though, she tells me that her phone's been randomly turning off. Tonight, I finally decided to install CM10 on the Skyrocket, thinking that this would fix the issue. I installed it through CWM like normal (I've flashed many a ROM, so I couldn't have messed up this process).
With everything installed, I reboot through CWM. The issue is, the phone just goes black. After pulling the battery and trying to boot again, I see the Samsung logo, followed by a black screen. The phone sort of pulsates for a bit at this point, giving me a short vibration here and there, before finally stopping. Attempting to get into recovery doesn't work either. I also, due to me not being used to the download mode feature (I personally have a Galaxy Nexus), accidentally tried to start it by holding the power and volume buttons (rather than holding volume and plugging the phone in, not touching power). The yellow triangle would show up very briefly, and then the phone shuts off.
When getting into download mode the proper way, I was able to get into Odin and flash CWM again. At this point, I should definitely be able to get into Recovery. But alas, I cannot... Same issues as before. At this point, it's revealed to me that, after the random shutoffs that my friend had been experiencing, she would sometimes also have trouble turning the phone back on. Noticing a trend?
I'd like to know what you guys think: Is this a software issue, or is it a hardware issue? For the former, what do you guys recommend so the phone could boot normally again? And for the latter, well... I don't suppose there are any easy hardware fixes I could try?
If you pull the battery and reinsert does the phone start on its own with no button pushes? If so... Stuck power button.

Nope, not at all. I need to press the power button for it to start.
It'd flash back to stock with Odin and then go from there.

I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't try flashing to stock because I figured it would work, but somehow, it did. I still feel that there's something wrong with the power button, and I'll be doing some more testing, but for now, everything's okay. Thanks for your help.
I bet you can reflash cm10 and it'll work fine. Just do a factory reset and the wipes and you'll be fine.

Wipe ALL the things, then Odin back to stock and reinstall. I'd bet that solves it

This is the first time have i downloaded a rom and so i got cm10 and now it's just stuck at the boot animation. PLEASE HELP!!!
Make sure you did not skip factory reset before flashing the rom.
Might be redundant but you gotta do a battery pull to get out of boot loop.

Is it stuck on the google logo with the unlocked padlock below? If so try pulling the battery and retrying. If it gets stuck after that then you have yourself a booting problem.
I have a similar one (with phone getting stuck on google logo at start up), and I get passed it by heating the phone using a blowdryer (battery out). I'm on Jellybean and rooted and it's an gt-i9020T model. If everything about your problem is like mine, you can try the same solution, maybe it'll help get passed the frozen screen? P.S this solution only helps you boot one time, if you reboot it'll get stuck again (at least it does for me).
Never heard that about the hair dryer. Sounds scary. Follow this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20629823
And hopefully you downloaded the correct rom 4 your phone. Then reflash rom in recovery

LOL what is this blow dryer method?! I see the same user posting about it on other threads.
so my phone wouldnt boot up when i tried to restore from by BACKUP.
so i tried flashing a RUU.
while it was flashing i guess something went wrong because it gave me a system error and now when i try to boot my phone it automaticlly goes to CWM.
cant even get into bootloader mode.
and anyone help? :crying:
i have to say this is one of the most frustrating phone i have ever worked with.
First off that's not a brick. If the device won't turn on..ie screen it's a brick.
Have to relock bootloader in order to run an ruu

Hi, as the title, my HTC ONE S is stuck in an infinite boot loop. I've tried factory reset, restore, it goes to HTC logo then restarts. Only way to stop it is to do a power down. When this started (yesterday) I caught the battery icon as a solid gray, with an (!) in the middle. A quick google showed that this means the battery is out of calibration (odd, it was working fine up until yesturday, and I still had 2/3 battery when this happened). I've since ordered a replacement battery, but I wanted to know if anyone has something I could try?
Phone is locked, unrooted.
I called the Virgin Mobile Canada, since I got the phone around this time last year, they said I was 10 days out of warrenty.. go figure
ps: I plugged in the phone until the LED was solid green. It still restarts during boot.
Have you tried running an RUU? Mot sure that you can if you can't get fully booted, but it may be worth a shot. If not, since you're out of warranty, there is not better time to root and run a custom rom.

Try run a RUU and if it does work . Download a battery calibration app and see if that fixes it aslong as you have the bootloader your fine . As the ruu requires bootloader . But you need to be fully booted up into android . To do that go to bootloader -> Fastboot make sure usb is connected And make sure you have Fastboot files (Google . Fastboot files ) then open cmd from where the Fastboot files are (shift right click in folder then open command line here )then do command 'Fastboot reboot' should boot u up into android . Make sure you try let your phone charge don't worry about the led
Hit thanks if I helped
Ok so about a month ago i bought an htc one mini m4 from att and since i think im pretty well trained on installing custom roms and such i thought i would do this to my htc. Well i did everything like normal flashed twrp and booted into it made a back up and so on and rebooted fine. so the next day i was gonna flash a rom for it i dont remember which one it was. But when i woke up my phone was off so i plugged it in and thats when this started im in a boot loop as far as the splash screen htc logo but when i try to go into fastboot mode about a second or 2 into hboot it boot loops and keeps doing it over and over and over again. I been looking for a way to fix it but i dont see nothing like this and this is a first time for me as far as the bootloader boot loop goes... Does anyone have any knowledge of how to fix this??? i would appreciate any help!!!!!
oh and my hboot is tampered relocked and s on
hboot is 2.22 and os is 3.10
i dont remember locking it back i might have but idk!!!
and i have no factory reset or recovery now to!!!! smh :crying::crying::crying::crying:

yes exactly what its doing then it goes from there to htc splash screen over and over again.
Do you know anything about this???
I had a boot loop while attempting to install IC 3.0.3 but the hboot screen let me choose the options and stayed there for as long a I wanted.
When you plug it into your PC or laptop can you hear the USB recognised chime for any time?
