Hi everyone.
The samsung keyboard is awesome because it lets you change into 3 different modes but the htc one s keyboard has better functionality, arrow keys, and has better automatic spelling corrections than the samsung keyboard on the note 10.1.
I'd like to basically take the software keyboard from the htc one s, add the three different modes from the note 10.1 keyboard, and be able to use this modified keyboard on our note 10.1s.
How would i go about creating such a keyboard, using pieces from the htc one s keyboard and the note 10.1 keyboard?
Please give me suggestions on how i can create it.
I have the drive, the time, and the determination to tackle such a project, but lack the skills To efficiently create this.
Please point me in the right direction.
Once this project is done, i will gladly share this keyboard with everyone.

Hello guys. I am a Windows Mobile user going into the HTC Evo. I have been looking around for days for a keyboard that has a TAB option or at least a customizable keyboard that will allow me to add a TAB key. I know a lot of you are rolling your eyes now but this is a need for me as I am a writer and do most of my work on my phone with Documents to Go on Android.
Can anyone point me to one or who can I contact to create one? I like the stock keyboard just needs a TAB key.
Thank you
I use swype, to do tab you press shift then space. Dunno if that's a lot better than hitting space a few times on a different keyboard in your case, but just giving you some options.
I found one that seems like it will work but the recognition seems a bit slow. It is called Smart Keyboard Pro and is 2.99 I think on the market. Comes with iPhone skin, HTC skin, Android skin, and a few original. Seems like it will work out pretty well.
So, I've heard and seen how great the prediction and typing is on the new Note II keyboard and would very much like to try it on my S3. So, I was wondering, is anyone willing to make a something like a flashable zip or an apk of that keyboard?
The Note 2 uses the prediction engine from Swiftkey afaik
Am I the only one annoyed by the fact that the stock keyboard doesn't fill in suggestions when you press the spacebar? I have typos all the time that should have been corrected, but the keyboard doesn't fill in corrected words automatically. I love the stock keyboard except for this one issue. I might have to try Swiftkey or Thumb Keyboard (I bought both of them before I got the Note 10.1).
There is a thread for the Galaxy Note 2 about a hacked keyboard that DOES do the corrections automatically. I installed it on my phone and it works great - I just wish there was a version for the Note 10.1.

I am picking up a 10.1 and would like to run CM on it. The only thing that I think I will miss the lack of handwriting recognition. Is there an app that will replace this functionality for me. Thanks.
There are some keyboards apps like swype which have pen input.
There is a ported keyboard ' LG keyboard ' which supports pen input..
I have tested many of them but none of them are even close to what samsung keyboard gives.. For pen input , samsung is the best and I was surprised how accurate it was then i first used it.
However no one has been able to port samsung keyboard to asop roms yet.
I was wondering if someone would tell me if Samsung improved on the stock Samsung keyboard. On the Note 10.1 2014 edition, when using the Samsung keyboard for handwriting it would switch back to the thumb keyboard every time I change fields. There was also no way to set the handwriting panel as the default input method (every time I needed to input information the Samsung keyboard presents me with the thumb keyboard and I would have to manually select the handwriting panel).
