I believe Elegancia Blitz sense 3.6 ROM included that option... But don't know if there's the appropriate cable or not
The Revelation™ ushered in a revolution... Right on, SebastianFM!

tried with nokia 5800 xpress music tv-out cable, doesn't seamed to be work.my tv doesn't support hdmi or any mhl cable.mine is samsung flat tv.
any way to be workable ? :'(

Buy some sort of conversion cable. Like VGA to HDMI and vice versa. They're not unheard of, but you'll still need a MHL adapter.

Thanks. Will try to see any converter of MHL adapter.if its works or not.

Good luck & post back with news please!

Hey guys i am back in this thread,
Mhl cable/converter doesn't seamed to be available in market,so any work out with "S-video" or Nokia TV-out function cables on device ?
PS:
Galaxy S i9000 supports Ntsc/pal tv-output.So no on sensation.
Also,RGB-to-3.5mm jack tv-out cable doesn't work,It shows me as "Headphone" icon.

This requires special 3.5mm jack, which the Sensation most probably lacks (only device I know has it (from the android devices) is the i9000 and it's variants). The adapter should not be from MHL but from HDMI, such as these:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trk...o+rca&_nkw=hdmi+to+rca&_sacat=32852&_from=R40
however, I tend to doubt if a normal cable would work, as HDMI is a digital standard while RCA is analog.

So i guess This One cable should work but it requires a HDMI-To-sensation cable converter in order to connect to my device(which our device don't have HDMI plug).

Yes, it's called MHL adapter (make sure it's compatible with sensation/i9100 (galaxy S2), as there are devices which have a different pin layout or even a different tech for HDMI via USB (Nexus 4 uses SlimPort and not MHL). Do NOT buy the one for Galaxy S3 or Note 2, as they are incompatible.

[Q] sensation TV OUT ....anyone?

i have a burning question for all of you android/HTC experts out there....please help me
i intend to buy the sensation but i want to know:will i be able to connect it to a tv ?
the problem in my case is that my tv (and in fact none of those i could have access to) has a hdmi (or usb) port.
Therefore the only remaining option would be through a RCA cable.
I found on ebay a rca- usb cable... no boxes no nothing ...just the wire and the connectors...price about 5 $.. (i'm sorry i cant post the link.....)
will it work?
why not? i know rca is analog and usb is digital... hence my dilemma
i also know the sensation can do TV-out via MHL A/V link, but MHL is only going to work on the latest types of tvs....right?

It will work on any lcd or led tv which has a hdmi port(and as u stated ur tv has one),so it will definately work, normal hdmi cable or the cable which u have mentioned will not work, the official hdmi cable including mhl adaptor is available here:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/htc-sensation-mhl-hdmi-out-cable-ac-m490-p29367.htm?referer=aff_aw_102463
Regards....
sorry i meant to say my tv does not have hdmi or usb...
so i guess i'll have to do without....
thanks though....
So there is absolutely nothing i could do to connect the sensation to a tv using rca conectors????
nothing money could buy??
Since HDMI is digital and RCA is analog, you would need a converter box. Something like this could do it:

thank you very much.....

More likely that you'd find something with HDMI in and AV out... Like this:
http://www.dinodirect.com/HDMI-to-VGA-3-RCA-Audio-Video-AV-Adapter-Cable-1-5M.html
how would that even work? hdmi carries a digital signal, and vga and rca an analog one.

My guess is that some devices can repurpose the pins on their HDMI port to output component video or VGA instead.
I'm fairly certain our devices don't fit into this category.
im surprised ours can even fit hdmi into micro usb.
It's not a Micro USB port, it's an MHL port.
Sent from my Infuse 4G
oh i thought that was a brand. interesting. seems to have everything hdmi and usb. wonder why we bother with mini hdmi and pdmi.
Was anyone ever able to solve this?
My goal is to play the movies off of my Samsung Infuse in my Toyota Prius Plug In during long trips.
I found a company in Japan that sells a video in adapter for the Prius but its only a Composite RCA input (Yellow, Red, White).
That means I have to use the MHL adapter on my infuse, into an HDMI cable, into a video converter box, then composite rca's from the converter box to the Prius adapter.
or
MHL adapter connected to a HDMI/Composite RCA cable, then straight into the Prius adapter.
I dont know if this second option would work though. Do I need a converter to go from HDMI (digital) to composite (analog).
or
If I could actually use a micro usb to composite rca cable that would be ideal! A lot less parts but I bet this option would be the least likely to succeed.
Need help.

[Q] TV out from 3.5mm jack?

I saw this in samsung vibrant forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1461705
My friend who has a Vibrant confirmed it works.I also tested it from his phone. Is it possible for Sensation users to have that feature ported?
No the sensation doesn't do this.. You can get tv out using an mhl adapter in the usb port though!

I know but The vibrant also has tv out via usb but this hack enabled it to have headset video out
The vibrant has hardware to make this possible (I had a sgs (basically the same phone) and got a cable for this included in the box)
The sensation doesn't have the hardware to allow this to happen.

Ok, thank you. I wanted to save a few bucks on that mhl adapter, since I already had the 3.5 mm cable laying around
Just to save you problems make sure you get one with a socket on the side to plug your charger into!

HDMI cable

I noticed the S5 does not use standard HDMI cable...Is any available that will work with the phone?
This cable worked well for me - http://http://amzn.com/B00GE51T9Q
For some reason it received a bunch of negative ratings but I am satisfied with it. Its also super cheap but I'll warn you ahead of time, it takes weeks to receive since its coming from China.
Link doesnt work...?
Sorry about that. Try this
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GE51T9Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
or just search Amazon for "niceeshop White 1080P Micro USB MHL To HDMI HDTV Adapter AV TV Video Cable For Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300/ S4 i9500/HTC"
Do you need any sort of app to get the s5 to mirror to a tv? I bought this cable but I cant get it to work...http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DUCB65I/ref=ox_ya_os_product_refresh_T1#customerReviews
Nvm got it working! Is there any way to change the resolution?
Resolution is automatically handled, no custom options. Your best control will be to choose the TV's display options and see which scales better.
Hdmi
I just bought a chromecast to get a workaround the hdmi cheap as chips these days
I didn't know that s5 needs a special hdmi cable.. I bought one that doesnt work.. Is there anyone i can do? What is the difference from the standard? Perhaps solder a cable or something?
Thanks,

You got a regular HDMI to HDMI? You need to purchase a micro USB to HDMI MHL adaptor. You will plug the adaptor into the phone and HDMI cable into the adaptor and television.

No. I got a microusb to hdmi adaptor but doesn't work.. When i connect s5 with tv, nothing happens.
I read above that s5 needs a special cable and not the regular (which i 99.9% have..)
So is there any way to make it work?
What special and different the cable that Samsung do?
Thanks,

Does it say it an MHL adaptor? I am looking at other forums and seeing people say that they are unable to get HDMI output to work with 4.4.4, what ROM are you using?

Yes it write mhl. Rom is 4.4 2 alliance rom.
Here is the cable:
http://www.e-shop.gr/startech-passive-micro-usb-to-hdmi-mhl-cable-3m-black-p-PER.813877
This is a photo of the cable:
Because it is a passive MHL cable, your display must be MHL enabled. The S5 is, so you need to look for your television model on this website
http://www.mhlconsortium.org/productlist/
If it isn't on the list, you need a different cable (or different TV which is much more expensive. )

Funny, I actually have. I work in a computer repair/data recovery shop and we have a phone in with a broken screen/lcd. Long story short is that the device did not work with the phone we got it for, nor my phone (Galaxy S5), and I know my MHL works on my phone but we needed KB/Mouse support as well.
It may have been a bunk device and we haven't requested a replacement yet, so If you try it out let me know if yours works, and when we get our replacement i'll let you know.
actually the seller replied to me and says that this cannot do hdmi and otg at the same time but apparently this dock does : http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=ite...obalID=EBAY-US&ssPageName=ADME:X:ACME:US:1123
but this dock is not compatible with galaxy s5 ... i wonder why

Unfortunately I don't think so, I used this:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Lindy-73391-...6?pt=DE_Computer_Sonstige&hash=item462bc81bb0
with a s4, and it worked prperly, but when connected to s5 it doesn't even turns on. I think it is because s5 doesn't have a docking mode, in fact if you go in Settings-->accessories, there is only an option for sound on hdmi, while in s4 there were more (and one was for the docking mode)
I couldn't find anything that worked reliably and consistently. So I use the MHL for HDMI output and use a Bluetooth Keyboard and mouse...

This is a good solution, but I'm wondering why, since 11 pin connectors usually can handle hdmi and usb otg on the same time, why old dock stations for 11 pin device don't work?
using micro 3.0 for MHL and OTG
i have a SM-G900P and if i make a OTG and MLH cable through usb 3.0 do you think i could charge and use HDMI and 2 usb for keyboard and mouse. My goal is to make my phone like a mini computer on the go for my roms and movies
Possibly use the USB 3.0 Micro-b connection?
All my googling on this matter with the S5 seems to lead to one inevitable conclusion, the S5 won't allow for simultaneous MHL and OTG use, because the S5 uses the 5pin connector and not the 11pin connector (as the S4 seemed to). What I don't understand is, isn't the S5 using USB 3.0 instead of the USB 2.0 as on the S4? How could the S5 allow for faster data transfer rates and yet not be able to transfer more types of data at once?
Isn't there a way to utilize the entire USB 3.0 micro-b format (which apparently has 10 pins, 5 for backwards compatibility with USB 2.0 (except 5pin, and not 11pin), and 5 extra for USB 3.0 speeds) to use MHL and OTG and charging simultaneously?

I'm having an issue with MHL adapter on my S5, When I connect my MHL adapter to my S5, the audio on my TV seems delayed, but when I tried it on my S3, the audio is perfectly fine. Is this something to do with S5 having 5 pin only wherein S3 having 11pin?
I saw a 5 pin to 11 pin converter on Amazon, will this solve this issue? And possibly the issue of not being able to use MHL/HDMI and USB at the same time?
buy chrome cast you can screen mirror or use almost any app directly to the tv when it comes to videos and such theres a little allshare
button at the top of like the video player, you tube etc.
also a smart tv does the same thing only better (all the above scenarios will only work with a connected network)
what is wrong with the image quality?
Chromecast works for me at home or anywhere it has standard wifi, but is too painful in most hotels that use a web user login. Without net access it was almost useless last time I tried. I could pair with it, but it wouldn't stream local files from my device. Most places I've stayed in the last few years have an active HDMI port on their tv, so the MHL HDMI and OTG with USB wireless mouse on an S3 worked for me, even though I couldn't charge at the same time. Haven't been able to make that work so far with anything I've tried on the S5.
Still no luck with S5 docking (MHL+OTG)
Hello!
I've been using this adapter for a while with a Samsung Galaxy S4:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/MHL-...or-Samsung-Galaxy-S3-S4-Note/32461052976.html
Charging, HDMI connection and USB keyboard + mouse works very nice.
Unfortunately no luck with S5. Not even charging works. I read S5 doesn't use 11-pin USB (because of the USB 3.0 plug, etc...). If that's true, then not even installing a custom ROM would make the docking work.
According to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57336973&postcount=4, "the G800F is capable of USB OTG. It simply is not enabled in the stock firmware." I know this is about a S5 Mini, but wouldn't it be the same for the S5?
