I accidentally uninstalled my supersu app and now my phone is no longer rooted. Will reinstalling the app from the play store restore my root access?
I have uninstalled mine before and didn't lose root. Just reinstall and then try root checker to see if you are still rooted.

Well, it won't hurt to try. And I think as long as you didn't use SuperSU to uninstall root you should be alright.

Hey guys sorry for this noob question. So i rooted my s3 and have superuser. My friend has S3 with att and he has super su instead of superuser. I was just wondering why is that.

Superuser is written by ChainsDD and superSU is by chainfire. 2 different apps (& binaries?) that do the same thing (manage superuser access for you).

Yes. Download SuperSU then open it and let it update binaries + give it normal superuser permission first.
Then go to your downloaded applications and unistall any updates to Superuser. Finally, get Titanium Backup and then Uninstall Superuser.
Oh yeah and Reboot afterwards
Short story ... phone auto updated by mistake and OTA Root Keeper failed along with 1 click method.
Any ideas?

All i know is that you could odin back to a rootable build, and then reroot and install the rooted version of the latest from here
If anybody knows an easier way feel free to share
Like others below me said, use this method here
Yeah just re root. You don't have to Odin back. The new build can still be rooted just like the other ones.

It works. It's always been a little buggy. Keep trying. I did have to install superuser from the play store manually afterwards though. Maybe you got the SU binary pushed and just need to do that still?

So keep running the debugfs root from casual. It works. Try adb kill-server after the first reboot and after clicking "OK" in casual. It worked for me.

OP: Were you able to get root back?
I am running stock, rooted. I was able to retain root following the upgrade by utilizing Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper.

OTA will always break root but eventually it will not only break root but also break unlock exploits regardless of any app. Ask the EVO 4G LTE guys who are now stuck with locked bootloader.

Is there either a superuser or super su app installed? There should be. Try going into whichever one you have and update binary, then rerun root checker and make sure you allow access when it asks for it

You only need one or the other, not both. Stick with whichever one came with the Rom. Go to the app and under settings choose update binary. If it asks for permission, grant it.
Delete whichever one you're not using.
And all custom ROMs on here are rooted

I've noticed with superuser I've sometimes needed to run the update a few times before it'll work.
If this has been a problem since you first flashed the ROM, I'd recommend doing a complete wipe of everything and reflashing the ROM

I updated &It Worked Thanks
Whenever I go into titanium backup it says sorry could not acquire root privileges. All I've done is unlocked the bootloader and installed cwm, superuser and busy box. Also I'm on stock Rom and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that hasn't worked.

My sister bought a michley 900 used from BrandsMart not too long ago and she tried to install Constant Guard from comcast and it won't allow saying it's rooted. I've not rooted it nor has my nephew and they aren't versed enough.
I've found no root method online. There isn't a super user app installed and I've run a root checker and a have fx file explorer with root add on installed and can edit at the root level.
Could it be that this tablet isn't locked down? Any ideas?
So no one has any info? Wrong thread? A slight push I the right direction?

Try framaroot. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130276
If that doesn't work then try the tool in my signature.
It comes with a root command.
most of the time with these generic tablets they come prerooted, i dont think you can remove it (unless you know what your doing) but if you want to take ahold of it download superSU or Superuser from the martket.
It's rooted already. I'm trying to figure out how.

like i said just install superSU or Superuser from the play store.
Our posts came in seconds apart. I have since installed SuperSU. She was trying to install some security suite apps available through her Internet provider and it wouldn't let her due to it being rooted.

like i said i dont think theres a way to unbrick it on generic tablets, i think you can try to unroot via superSU or Superuser, one of them has the option i think and you might be able to find a apk for security suite that gets rid of the root checker or whatever its doing.
