Is installed from the recovery as always, do not worry if it takes a while to get the first splash is entirely normal and configuration files running on first boot.
I strongly recommend formatting SDCARD total with three partitions, SDCARD 7.4 GB / 512MB EXT3 / LinuxSWAP 64MB, you can do from the recovery, but remember to save your pictures and music before formating. This is because directories are created in the sdcard called Android which are recorded in the data I have found to adversely affect the rom. PROVEN!,
After you install and configure it is VERY recommended to do a restart.
Improvements in this version.

v2.6: http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=127226
megaupload battery saver v2.6 LITE: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ABK13WGT
The LITE is the same as normal but without extra applications only Google Apps
It is the sister of the 2.4 but with many internal improvements and major modification of the use of SupSetup against Rom.
Is installed from the recovery as always, do not worry if it takes a while to get the first splash is entirely normal and configuration files running on first boot.
I strongly recommend formatting SDCARD total with three partitions, SDCARD 7.4 GB / 512MB EXT3 / LinuxSWAP 64MB, you can do it from the recovery, but remember to keep you before your pictures and music. This is because directories are created in the sdcard called Android which are recorded in the data I have found to adversely affect the rom. PROVEN!, So I took more than normal in publishing.
You'll notice that it slows down when entering the desktop, and upgrading is because this and other accounts, once finished restart couple of hours and you will see how the rom starts to go smoothly, since it generates little by little dex which he is asking from the system.
Improvements in this version.
New SupSetup V6

- Now you can customize the toolbars of notifications from the Spare Parts.

- Control the music in the LockScreen activated from the Spare Parts
- Many improvements and graceful Spare Parts for the control of the rom.
- You can alter all the colors of the rom including notification bar (text notifications, time and date)
- Removed Gallery3D because I found that impairs the normal operation of the ROM (run out of memory at times and force restarts when you synchronize with Picassa)
- Added a widget in the control bar to turn off 3G data
- Removed the button to put calls on hold, since many users reported problems with the ear activating it.jijiji
- Added keyboard SupSetup of European and American Dream power to change. (Requires restart)
- Better management of the battery
- New kernel-saving battery, remember that the rom is by default 528000 245760, if you want less consumption lower the frequency.
- Now applied directly SupSetup change CPU frequency
- Modified the management of the force be with you, with better results to suffer FC's sporadic.
- Fixed the problem of always on since Bluetooth SupSetup
- Implemented and LinuxSwap CompCache, but watch; can only be activated one of the two. if you activate one the other will deactivate automatically (Thanks Tole)
- And many small changes to control the system.
- Optimized all the apk's png
- Take a look at the new Spare Parts integrated settings.
- Improved management of root
- New Market Management
- Now when you turn the APNs from supsetup automatically apply
- Development is disabled from SupSetup
- New options in the Spare Parts that can even choose which applications are installed if not activated apps2sd
- Unlock & Wake up Wake

Applications:

Language is location base some spanish remaining within "SupSetup" settings)
##########################################################################################
Start here:
1-wipe all 5 (clockwork Mod recovery recommended)
2-flash Rom
3-Reboot
4-wait
5-at finger over the android wait 4-5 min then TOUCH EVERY CORNER OF SCREEN STARTING ON TOP LEFT clockwise TO BYPASS SETUP
6-let it set for few more min (4-5)
7-reboot and start your sync setup (you may have unexpected reboots here, let it do its thing)
My Setup:
The Lite Version deserves a youtube video!!!
its amazingly fast!!
Turbo mode Off
Compcache Off
Jit Off
Linux Swap Off
Not a single FC and 2.9Mb free ram (before any addtl app has been installed)
additional settings:
ADWLauncher; scolling @~190, desktop Overshot @~80, Zoom @300
AFTER THIS LAUNCHER WILL OPEN/CLOSE INSTANTLY & SWIPE INSTANT BETWEEN SCREENS
SpareParts; Anim @fast, Trans Anim @fast
SupSetup; CPU @176Mhz min, @576Mhz Max
run/open Every app in the launcher one by one to generate dex files, wait few min and reboot
note: after reboot, you may want to check back on spare parts, sometimes it resets the windows anim and trans anim to default
I also recommend to use Firerat's MTD hack to max out your data partition and keep apps on internal memory (this is not ram);
ENJOY
Link on wuala is broken
based on rc1 or 2?
i love super csdi
read the thread on htcmania, someone posted a mirror. megaupload, if I remember. search for "mirror" rather then "espejo" because an online mirror doesn't have a spanish name.

Phenomenal rom though. Much better memory management than CM, it the home app NEVER quits. really good rom, if you thought CM6 was the best rom ever for g1, think again; this pwns. No compcache/swap either. you can turn it on in SupSetup though.
looks real good! so i would be correct that this is not cm based right?

Im betting it is, although the lack of credit confuses me
I mean those are all features that were introduced in cyanogen-mod.
Hey guys, need a little help. it says that gapps are integrated, but somehow for me, they are missing. Are they activated through supsetup in any way?

they are included, its also recommended to clean (format) your fat32 partition since there are some leftovers (like android, secure, etc) from other roms on your sd
is there froyo apps2sd?
Looking forward to flashing this! I am a huge supporter of [email protected]!

you have three options
1. from within settings (froyo)
2. from spare parts and
3. from SupSetup (which is claimed to be the best for this rom)
you have to choose only one method so think before selecting it

it was designed specifically for froyo for apps to ext2/3/4 (remember that some files are still saved on data)
I haven't tested ap2sd since I use firerat MTD method for bigger data partition size

Well, I reformatted my sdcard as suggested, fastbooted and wiped, installed the rom, booted up to homescreen, but no gapps to be found.
Home button doesn't work for me, whenever I press it, it doesn't take me back to home; and dialer doesn't show up when I press the green button either. I did fastboot erase and repartitioned my sd, worked fine on the previous rom I was in.

it is normal for some froyo to get few reboots even during setup, I suggest you to watch the logcat during setup and let it do its thing, set up your account and all the other settings after the second or third reboot

watch logcat and let it set, dont do a thing till after 2-3 reboots, I've seen some roms installing gapps on second boot (before it completely boot for the first time)

you have to bind the home key on ADW setting/system preferences
the physical dialer key works fine for me
this rom looks really promising! I really would like to have a froyo rom with build-in apps2ext support...
does this have ADW Launcher and the CM Settings?

Yeah it has ADW and CM settings are spread out into spare parts. I think they did this to make it look like there own settings. I really like this ROM, alot. I just think Cyan deserves some credit too. Its clearly the base of this whole ROM.
Hello All!
I've started a little "rom project" after using the excelent EclairMOD by 89luca89 to better suite my needs and probably from other Brazilian users, therefore, here follows my ROM.
It's based on the Telus Canada ROM (SHOLS_U2_03.11.0) with configurations from the RETAIL-BR ROM (SHLA_U2_03.05.0), without any carrier customization and brought to as much vanilla as possible with additional overclock/undervolting modifications and other "necessary" mods, like memhack, JIT and so on.
I've put up a page on the project to centralize the information, including a full tutorial on how to flash vunerable recovery sbf and so on in Portuguese for those interested. The page is located at: http://shadowmodbr.posterous.com/
----------------------------
ShadowMOD-BR v0.3a
MOD based on TELUS Canada ROM (SHOLS_U2_03.11.0) with modifications for Brazilian networks based on RETAIL-BR ROM (SHLA_U2_03.05.0).
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY PROBLEM CAUSED BY THE INSTALATION OF THIS MODIFICATION. IF YOU PHONE BLOWS UP, YOUR DOG GETS FLU OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, IT’S YOUR ENTIRE RESPONSABILITY.
######## ATTENTION ########
1) It is necessary to apply a vunerable recovery SBF (vr.sbf) to install this ROM.
2) This ROM should be applied with G.O.T. OpenRecovery using the nandroid restore option. Not tested with others.
3) As all ROMs, do a factory reset/complete wipe before installation.
######## ATTENTION ########

For those who want the ROM in another language (including PT-BR) I suggest using MoreLocale 2.
Everything is at my homepage, but exclusively in portuguese ATM.
Hope you guys enjoy it! Been great so far for me!
Obrigado
Wow, flashed here, working smoothly.
Great work man, keep it up.
I've decided to use the Telus Canada ROM as a base for the project because its newer and with fewer bugs. The configurations/customization however are still for the Brazilian networks and have been extracted from the RETAIL-BR ROM.
It's necessary to do a full wipe before the installation of this version because a lot has changed. I suggest using Titanium Backup to backup your apps/config and SMSBackup+ to backup your SMS.
Have fun!

But let me ask you something, can I reinstall the stock 'despertador'?

Probably. On v0.2 I've used more agressive undervolt settings which may lead to this ocassional reboots. On v0.3 I've returned to a more conservative undervolting.

Surely can. I will make the original available as a update.zip. You do however have an Alarm Clock installed. Just enter at the "Clock" application and it's there.
Thanks for your quick reply, man.
I will give it a try then.
Edgar,
I m having some problems with youtube on this rom... it sometimes go out of sync, but usually it crashers while loading up and the phone reboots.
Could you please test youtube via wifi on 0.3 to see if it´s working well? Because Im still stuck at 0.2.
Thanks in advance.

Tenho tido diversos reboots com a 3A. está com Over de125x800.
Abraço.
Hello there, I've tried your ROM for some time and liked the speed but had problems with some games (air control lite would just go back to the homescreen), I think you should release a version without overclock and undervolting or as an optional...
For those having problems with reboots, try to use a HIGHER minimum speed overclock. Some handsets doesn't seem to handle 125mhz very well. Get the 250x1000 or the 250x800 patch on my webpage.
You can also remove the overclock/undervolting/governor with additional patches that is also available on my webpage.
Those patches are to be applied using GOT OpenRecovery "apply update" option.
In the homepage of developer has been release updates for that. The links is in the first post.
I have no more problems after apply 800mhz clock.
New "hotfix" release to further remove Telus customization and fix some a-gps issues.
I've also included some additional links on the first post for those wanting to replace overclock/governor and so on!
Welcome to BlackICE
Dear Friends, it is with a heavy heart that I inform you that Mr BlackICE died peacefully in his sleep last night. He was an excellent ROM with a stylish physique and good battery usage. He had a long life and continued to be popular in his later years even after the younger generations of ICS and Jellybean sprang up. I know he will be missed by many.
+ + + R.I.P BlackICE + + +
What is BlackICE?
BlackICE is a CyanogenMod derivative; modular, extensible and dark... Very dark
Heavily tweaked to boost battery life and performance, fine tuned for Desire HD and Inspire 4G
All the great features of the LordModUE kernel
This is an open project, we accept cooperation and patches
You can build your own BlackICE
Friendly Advice
If you are flash BlackICE over a different (not BlackICE) ROM a full wipe / factory reset is required
Remember Mom's advice: brush your teeth everyday and take the 5 minutes to backup before flashing
* Please read Post #2 thru #5 for more information, including how to resolve Market issues *

Advanced install options
You can push a text file in /sdcard/blackice/autorun.txt with custom options for every flash.
See the example file
icetool script will take care of them and apply your typical options prior to first boot!
Current supported options at boot time:
Code:
# Switch gps.conf for your country (see /sdcard/blackice/gpsconf/*)
gpsconf [COUNTRY]
# Switch ril from the default (rils on /sdcard/blackice/ril/*)
ril [RIL_VERSION]
# Set LCD density
density [190|200|240]
# Boot sound off
bootsoundoff
# Uncomment this if you want to overlay an existing
# directory hierarchy on sdcard over /system
overlay /system /sdcard/blackice/system
# Uncomment this if you want to overlay an existing
# directory hierarchy on sdcard over /data
overlay /data /sdcard/blackice/data
# Uncomment this if you want to enable braviaengine
braviaengine on
Renice script:
You can push a text file in /sdcard/blackice/renice.txt with custom renice of process.
These values won't be applied until you run the "Autorenice processes" option of icetool
If you need a decent app to change them and persist them, then buy SysTune from market.
See the example file icetool script will take care of them and apply your typical options when clicked on that options.
Code:
# Example renice.txt file
# Below a list of processes that should be reniced
# #1 : Process name
# #2 : Priority (ranging -20 to +19, being -20 realtime prio and +19 idle prio)
#
# These priorities are only applied *after* running "Autorenice" option of ICETool

How to enable BLN:
You can enable BLN (ButtonLightNotification) by going to CyanogenMod settings -> Interface -> LED notifications -> Advanced -> Use BLN
If you want to have a toggle in the statusbar got to
CyanogenMod settings -> Interface -> Notification power widget -> Widget buttons -> Toggle BLN
changing the order is just as usual in Widget button order.
If you want to disable it for certain apps, you can do this by disabling the LED in this specific app. That is the only way because BLN is bound to the LED flag. Introducing a new Flag makes no sense because it is not in the tools that App developers can use.
General idea behind the framework modification:
The general idea was to make the softkeys flash whenever a new notification arrives. However, there is a problem with that. Other than the "normal" LEDs (LCD-backlight and softkey-backlight, the notification-LED has a file called "blink" in
Code:
/sys/class/leds/green/
So you only need to write "1" into the file and the hardware will do the rest. (https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_device_htc_ace/blob/gingerbread/liblights/lights.c, l.116)
Therefore I switched to only turn it on when the screen is off and a notification arrives. Having it turned on instead of blinking takes slightly more power, but has the same visual effect, because you would still notice it, as it normally is off when the screen is off.
Changes I made:
These are the currently up to date changes:
http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#change,11716
http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#change,11717
To-Do:
I think Danny Baumann has a point when he said, it would be better to implement it device-specific because there are devices like the Samasung Galaxy S II that have this feature in a (custom) kernel. I don't know how to do framework changes device-specific though. But I am still learning and there should be a way. https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_device_htc_ace/blob/gingerbread/ace.mk looks key.
Update #1:
Danny pointed me to motorola jordan https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_device_motorola_jordan
So I will try to make AceParts and the corresponding changes in liblights/lights.c. If it doesn't go into CM then, I don't know what else to do

FAQ
SysTune discussion thread If you want to discuss your experience with various settings or see what others use then i hope you help filling up this thread
Works wonders with BlackIce
FAQ - thx maatsby
Q: How do i flash this?
A: MAKE A BACKUP!
If this is your first time = Full Wipe
If you're coming from an older version = Just flash (it will wipe cache's for you)
Q: What is the recommended radio?
A: There's no universal Radio + RIL solution in this ROM, nor any AOSP. You have to experiment
Lots of people use the newest 26.13.04.19_M. But it depends on your region, area, mobile phone carrier, ...
Q: What is the recommended RIL?
A: There's no universal Radio + RIL solution in this ROM, nor any AOSP. You have to experiment
All the G rils are there in ICE Tool for you to test what fits better
Q: But those guys at the radio thread told me that I must use XXXX-HM RIL for my YYYY radio.
A: Quoting kitecarl: As the saying goes, "Friends don't let friends flash H-RILs on CM7-based ROMs."
Seriously - stick with ONLY the G-RILs that come with ICETool and all will be good in the world.
Q: Something isn't working / is Force Closing!
A: This is a work in progress. If this is a new problem, report it in the thread.
BUT SEARCH FIRST. Chances are two other people have noticed this and reported it already
Q: How do I get a banner in my signature? How can I theme? I hate the default look!
A: Look at the user contributed extras such as BlackICE graphics thread by jameslsmith or BlackICE MODs: Battery and Notification mods by baltazar.nilsson. Or revert back to default CM looks by using the original SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk
Q: What is undervolting?
A: Changing the voltage available to each CPU frequency. Use ICE Tool or the Systune app (or both) to play with this
Proceed with caution. Freeze / reboot / crazy behaviour is a possibility
Q: Why does the market say this app is incompatible with your device?
A: This is due to the dpi. Sorry, but google doesn't like you to mess with dpi. If you use default device 240 it will work. However, if you want to use different density such as BlackICE default 200, either use the old market, or change the dpi to 240 in ICETool, download your app, then change it back. If you use the tool, Market app data will be cleared to make it work
3 in 1? I think so! Fantastic work guys
When i am home i will try it. Yeah.....

DISCUSSION FOR v1.1.02 STARTS ON Page 83 »
Full Featured 1.1.02a - Non-Wiping - BML(EXT4/RFS) / MTD(YAFFS2) Compatible:
DOWNLOAD SleeperROMv1.1.02a-EI22-Full.zip

File size: 171.59 MB / MD5 011ad500deb9b7b02cd6fc3cc9ff59cb
NOTE On first boot, let it sit at the lock screen until you see all the media scanning notifications stop -
this is because on first boot, there will be some app installing going on.
If you're coming from a clean install, you will have to set Swype as your text input in Locale and Text Settings to start using it.
Mods / Patches / Fixes / Tools
CWM EXT4 Clean Slate Wipe Tool - NO BACKUP
If you just odin'ed from Stock EI22, or if you want to be totally sure your install will go cleanly
download the attachment in that post and flash BEFORE flashing the new ROM, will format EXT4.
It will format your partitions properly to avoid any data issues or 3x wipe.
SDCARD Corrupt files
File size: 127.57 KB / MD5 f80114920c986ea09eac7b724429fb91
If your phone is running warm and laggy after a clean install,
it's possible "android.process.media", the Media Scanner process,
is stuck on a file it's unable to read on your sdcard causing it to hang indefinitely.
Flash this package to install a script to use.
Usage: From terminal, run sdcardstuck and follow the instructions.
NOTE: This applies to and should work on any ROM, not just SleeperROM (Bash is required)
Reset Scrolling Status Bar to stock (with 4g button)
If you are experiencing issues, miss the 4G button,
flash this in CWM to restore the stock status bar
• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
NON-WIPING, Your data is safe!
***CLEAN INSTALL I recommend, generally, a clean install.
1. Backup with Titanium Backup, then a CWM Backup.
2. In CWM, go to "Mounts and Storage" > "Format /Data", just once will do.
3. To restore your basic data with Titanium Backup, avoid Batch Restore for system apps, choose the Green items one by one for the feature you want to restore then reboot. - I usually Sign In to my google account (open market, gmail, talk) then restore [CONTACTS/CALLS], [VOICEMAIL], [SMS/MMS/APN], [BOOKMARKS], and if i'm feeling daring and lazy [SETTINGS/BLUETOOTH..] - but this last one usually causes me FC grief. After a couple of reboots, you can batch restore all of your user apps.
ABOUT LOCKSCREEN MOD (or lack thereof) TSMParts may be integrated in the near future but NOT the lockscreen mod, as it goes against the philosophy of this rom in maintaining stock appearances (exception is scrolling status bar) while featuring the latest patches and mods which enhance usability and stability. The standalone lockscreen mod flashable is NOT compatible with this ROM.
ABOUT NOCIQ SCORE In Voodoo CarrierIQ: the report shows residuals that must remain - From the man (k0nane) himself about this SleeperROM (and presumably all others using his removed CIQ) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19945805#post19945805

HAHA Thanks guys - it is indeed my first ROM release since always assimilating everyone's best hacks and developments into a private rom for myself, thought i'd give back finally - and all thanks and approval is welcome (but... first ones win) and feedback is appreciated! Hopefully my server can handle some traffic, will probably put up a mirror!
RandomKing - i've tested and appreciate all your work!
EDIT:
k0nane - SyndicateROM releases and info started me off with this phone back in Feb.

awesome, thanks! can't wait to give it a spin.
Why is the file size about 100 megs larger than most roms?
I didn't see the 1X/3G icon fix in the list. Does this one not have it fixed?
Great to see the Swype beta in here. Will I be able to update if a new Swype beta comes out?
Swype installer won't update the other ROMs I've tried as it thinks they have Swype provided by the carrier.

KiesAir, which i love, is 9MB on its own, the google apps account for another 20MB, then all of the audio (ringtones, notifications, alarms) 30MB...
Perhaps i should offer the sounds as a separate flashable file (i did spend a good deal of time collecting and organizing them) - personally i love to have them all there, but for the sake of file size..?
This rom, i intended to be all inclusive while appearing basic/plain, so between removeable apps and sound choices she seems bloated, but runs like a top.. like a rally tuned 20 year old volvo.
I can't seem to get it to boot up. I've wiped and install multiple times and still no go... any reason that might be? I'm coming from marcusant EI22 v3.5

Were you able to flash the rom? I'm uploading to a mirror and it's going painfully slow right now, my server isn't liking all the sudden attention, i just increased capacity so you may try to give the download another shot - file size is approx 260MB
the swype beta probably won't be able to update/replace its files at the moment since i directly replaced the GB swype with the latest beta one (so i can't test whether it will properly update), i'll address this shortly

sorry about that, seems a few people are having trouble downloading the full file only getting about 50%, uploading to a mirror now, and have added capacity to my server - try to redownload should be ~260MB

I was thinking that 128Mb was a little light and when I saw the question on its size I figured I got a bad download and tried again. Not done yet.
If you can put Swype into the user installable space that would probably be best as it Swype will be updating it. Hard to uninstall otherwise.
mine is 258 megs

Further Help
Here are some further explanations of some PmR options :
Multitasking Section
¤ OOM groupings :Android, like any other Linux system, has a built-in task killer, called the LowMemoryKiller (a.k.a LMK).
The LMK analyses the RAM usage of all applications in real-time, and when the system has too many apps open, or too much RAM consumption, the LMK will start killing apps to free-up some memory.
To determine which app to kill first, the LowMemoryKiller distinguishes 10 categories of apps, which are called the Out-Of-Memory (OOM) Priorities.
As the name implies, the LMK will create a kind of ordered list based on the determined priority of the apps.
Those categories are as follow :
Foreground App
Visible App
Secondary Server
Backup App
Home App
Hidden app
Empty App
Perceptible App
Heavy-Weight App
Content Provider App
For each of these categories, Pimp my Rom will modify the memory threshold for LMK to start killing processes and adjust the priority of the categories to match three preset levels of multitasking :
Low : Your device will be able to handle less opened apps at once, but consume less RAM and less battery
Mid : An average good level of both Multitasking and not too much RAM drain/Battery drain
High : Your device will be able to handle a big bunch of opened apps at once without being killed
The OOM settings in PmR also takes care of the ADJ, but I might add a separate 3 levels radiogroup for ADJ too
¤ Minfree Values :
The LowMemoryKiller isn't only about OOM groupings, the Minfree values are very important as well :
The Minfree module of the Low Memory Killer is here to set the minimum amount of free RAM that should always be available.
If the free RAM level goes below the Minfree value, the the LMK starts killing apps (based on the OOM priorities, remember ? )
In other terms, if the LMK is the gun for killing apps, then the Minfree module is the trigger ^^
Again, PmR will allow you to choose between 3 preset levels (for the purpose of clarity for the user, the levels are inverted from the actual values. i.e : High Level in the app wil set a low minfree value, allowing for more multitasking) :
Low : The minimum amount of free Ram (minfree) will be set high, allowing apps to get killed by the LMK quickly. = Not much multitasking, but good battery/less lags as you always have a good amount of free ram
Mid : Balanced Level, good multitasking, not much lags and average battery
High : Big multitasking hog
¤ zRam (Zero Capacitor Ram) :
Taken from Wikipedia :
zRam is an experimental (staging) module of the Linux kernel. It was previously called "compcache". zRam increases performance by avoiding paging on disk and instead uses a compressed block device in RAM in which paging takes place until it is necessary to use the swap space on the hard disk drive. Since using RAM is faster than using disks, zRam allows Linux to make more use of RAM when swapping/paging is required, especially on older computers with less RAM installed.
To make it simple, zRam allows to virtually increase the amount of RAM your device has by using the Swap spaces in your device memory.
This is mostly profitable for low-end devices that come with few ram (512mb generally).
PmR offers 2 levels :
64 mb : virtually adds 64mb of RAM
128mb : virtually adds 128mb of RAM
zRam settings requires a kernel that includes this module.
I hope these little explanations will help you understand how to use those settings, and help you find the right combination for your device and use

Fixed the issue where beats audio and walkman options would be displayed for gb roms when it shouldn't
Various bugfixes (a few swapped selections and unworking tweaks)
Removed the extra apps screen, this wasn't really matching the mainline of this project, since you can grab those apps from the market. Plus this makes the whole package lighter.

ø New Tweaks selection screen : Multitasking
==> Choose between :
4 levels of OOM Priorities
4 levels Minfree settings
2 levels of ZRAM compression
Tweak your kernel and dalvik cache to behave well and be stable on hard multitasking conditions
ø New Tweaks selection screen : Networks & Internet
==> Security tweaks :
Reinforce your TCP/IP Stacks to make them resist to SYN attacks which cause a DoS (Denial of Service) on your device. Now those lame-ass blackhat hackers won't harm you with this.
Block redirects : auto website redirections will be blocked
Block source-routing : source-routing can be used to hack into your device as it allows full tracing of packets.
==> Stability & Speed tweaks :
Increase the buffer and queue size of each tcp socket to give more stability on high broadband consumption conditions
Allow the system to re-use the Sockets on TIME-WAIT state. In clear time-wait causes memory-loading, memory-loading causes internet lagg, internet lagg sucks.
Various IPv4 protocol speed tweaking scripts using sysctl
DNS and ppp0 tweaks for faster name-resolution, which means faster connections to websites.
ø New Tweaks selection screen : GPS Configuration
==> Choose between 79 countries (and 5 continents) of gps.conf files: those files are essential for the accuracy and lock-speed of your device's gps. (Thanks to gangsterjoop for the files)
ø New Adblock file of over 200 000 hosts ! (100x more than before) (Thanks to BSDgeek_Jake for the host file) --> added to extra features screen
ø New init.d scripts :
Move Dalvik-cache to /cache to increase data storage
Bind-mount dalvik-cache to allow a device to boot without sdcard (useful for devices with damaged internal sdcard)
Touchscreen responsiveness improvement tweaks
ø New Enable/Disable features :
Disable and Re-Enable Android logger
Disable Gentle Fair Sleepers
Disable New Fair Sleepers
Disable Normalized Sleeper
ø Rewritten every single init.d script :
This allowed me to realize many of them were not working, so I added a lot of missing values, and fixed a countless number of errors, redundant values and typos. So there should be some big improvement on the effects of init.d tweaks.
I also set an order of execution of init.scripts to avoid conflicts.
ø Removed themes and S-Voice
The S-Voice flaw that allowed other devices to use it appears to be patched and it was heavy, and themes were heavy and not really useful, you can download a countless number of them for free on the market
ø Changed installer theme to Sense
I realized that the options subtitles were not readable with ics theme, so most of the tweaks effects explainations were hidden.
ø Pimp My Rom will now come in two versions :
One will include the latest version of Aroma (with touchscreen working out-of-the-box, but issues on some devices) and One using Aroma v2.51 (With touchscreen calibration, and this version appears to fix the weird texture/ghost-input/moving screen/vibration issues people have with some devices with aroma v2.56)
ø Major code clean-up, various bugfixes
Re-organized and cleaned-up both aroma-config and updater-script
Fixed the way the installation process input displays sections and sub-sections
Fixed some tweaks getting installed instead of others when they shouldn't, and some other bugs
I'm pretty sure I forgot some stuff, I'll add it when it comes back in mind

Developer's Guide on Implementing PmR in your Roms
1) Implementing PmR with a custom preset & playstore OTA updates working
Flash your Rom & apply the tweaks and options you want to be included in your preset
Create a /data folder at the root of your Rom's zip package, and in this folder create a /app folder (so you now have a /data/app path
Download this version of the PmR apk and place it in the freshly created /data/app folder in your Rom's zip
(this is the playstore-signed version, which will allow your users to receive OTA updates as if they installed it from the playstore)
Grab the following files from your device and place them at the corresponding locations in your Rom's zip package :
(If some of those files are missing on your device, don't worry, this simply means they are not needed in your preset)
Code:
- /system/etc/init.d/99Pimp_my_Rom
- /system/etc/init.d/98Entropy
- /system/etc/init.d/S90zipalign
- /system/etc/init.d/04dual_bootanim
- /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
- /system/etc/hosts
- /system/bin/entropy-gen
- /system/xbin/rngd
- /system/xbin/openvpn
Note : this does not include the Apps & Mods section, except for the Adblock & OpenVPN Support
Create the following path of folders in your Rom's zip : /data/data/com.androguide.pimp.my.rom/shared_prefs/
On your device, navigate to /data/data/com.androguide.pimp.my.rom/shared_prefs and copy all the content of this folder to your Rom's zip freshly created /data/data/com.androguide.pimp.my.rom/shared_prefs/ folder
Open your Rom zip's /system/build.prop in a text editor
Now open your device's /system/build.prop in a text editor, and copy everything from the first occurence of "### Pimp my Rom : xxx" to the end of the file, then paste it at the end of your Rom's build.prop (Do not forget to save the modifications)
Ok, now we have added all the required assets for Pimp my Rom and your custom preset, let's pass-on to the updater-script modifications in order to install those assets properly and set the right permissions to them.
In your Rom's zip package, navigate to /META-INF/com/google/android and open updater-script in a text editor
Copy the following lines near the end of the file, but before "unmount("/system");" :
Code:
ui_print("Installing Pimp my Rom with a custom preset...");
package_extract_dir("data", "/data");
set_perm_recursive(0, 0, 0755, 0755, "/system/etc/init.d");
set_perm_recursive(0, 0, 0771, 0660, "/data/data/com.androguide.pimp.my.rom/shared_prefs");
set_perm(0, 0, 0644, "/data/app/com.androguide.pimp.my.rom-1.apk");
set_perm(0, 0, 0644, "/system/etc/hosts");
set_perm(0, 0, 0755, "/system/etc/install-recovery.sh"); [COLOR="DarkRed"][B]<<< Do NOT include this line if you didn't activate init.d through PmR in your preset[/B][/COLOR]
set_perm(0, 0, 0755, "/system/bin/entropy-gen"); [COLOR="DarkRed"][B]<<< Do NOT include this line if you didn't use the Entropy Generator in your preset[/B][/COLOR]
set_perm(0, 0, 0755, "/system/xbin/rngd"); [COLOR="DarkRed"][B]<<< Do NOT include this line if you didn't use the Entropy Generator in your preset[/B][/COLOR]
set_perm(0, 0, 0755, "/system/xbin/openvpn"); [COLOR="DarkRed"][B]<<< Do NOT include this line if you didn't activate OpenVPN support in your preset[/B][/COLOR]
ui_print("Done installing Pimp my Rom - by [email protected]");
2) Adding a Pimp my Rom entry to your Rom's Settings.apk - Coming Soon

Thanks for your kind words,
This has been designed mainly for ics & jb roms, but you can still try on gb, just make sure you do NOT select gapps/inverted gapps and themes.
The tweaks, extra apps and extra features should work properly.
In fact, the easiest way for you would be to Select "Stock-based Rom" option in the first screen, so the script won't display gapps and themes options. I will rename "Stock-based rom" option to "Stock and Gingerbread roms" in next update, thanks for the idea.
Please make sure you post your results, so I can add your device to the confirmed devices list if it worked properly.
Regards.
ok, i understand. I'll let you know.

Actually it is big because it contains everything the script needs for all different types of roms, but it won't actually install 170mb of stuff on your device...unless you choose to^^
You choose what to install, the main heavy stuff are the gapps and inverted gapps (which will only work with jb). I'll make a light version (gapps-free) soon, might be a good idea.
Thanks for trying, let us know how it goes on your device and rom.
EDIT : Light Version uploading right now (31mb)
Pimp My Rom - Light version
Here's the light version (31mb), and this is what has been removed :
Code:
- Gapps
- Inverted Gapps
- Themes

You can go to /system/etc/init.d and look at the bunch of files there, these are some of the tweaks. You can also open /system/build.prop and look at the end of the file if the tweaks are there.
Also, if you chose to install some extra apps, then it's easy to see if they were installed or not.
Another simple way to know is to read the installation process output, i.e : if it says "installation XX tweak", then the installation of this tweak was successful, otherwise it wouldn't output it.
If the installation process just said something like :
Code:
>>> Setting up installation....
>>> Mounting partitions
>>> Cleaning process
and then said it was finished, then there is a problem in the script that I need to fix.
If possible, please post your install log here (choose "save log" option at the end of the installation process).
Either way, thanks for the feedback.

Same thing as above to verify if the installation went right.
The light version works with any rom too, it just doesn't include gapps and themes.
Ah, i understand. So it didn't install anything because in folder init.d there are nothing.

No problem man. To get the install log do the following :
- Reflash Pimp My Rom
- Select several options/tweaks etc...
- After the end of the installation there will be a "Save logs" button (at the place of the back button)
- Click on that button
- Click on the "Finish" button
- The log will now be on you sdcard or internal sdcard, check both.
The file should be named something like "PIMP_MY_ROM-v1.4-Universal.zip.log", attach it here.
Thanks
