[Q] Xperia S Battery Modification and Expansion - General Questions and Answers

Hi guys. Just watched video at Youtube about Xperia S battery modification and wondered a bit in ebay looking for batterys. And i found 2500 mAh replacement over original 1750 mAh one. Now the question is manufacturer of the battery is a company called MPJ. I didnt hear it before and i want to hear user comments no matter what your phone is. If you use MPJ manufactured battery just leave your feedbacks please. 2.question is about compatibility. Lets say i bought this battery. Would i experience any compatibility issues? (I cant post links cause i dont have 10 posts. Please search in Youtube and eBay. It's easy to find) Thanks in advance

I expect this recommendation to the users of batteries
I've heard a lot of good things about the Anker battery. Plus, you can get one for very cheap.

Choose Anker, actually, they all have a same capacity in same battery size.Anker do the best in long term performance, and it's the cheapest one as well
I just got my Sensation about 2 weeks ago and immediately ordered an Anker. I've been using that for about a week. It seems to stay a little cooler and last a little longer, nothing major. Then again, the cost is pretty minor so I say jump on it! If that's not good enough, there is the big mack daddy from Mugen (3600?) with the extended case of course.

[Q] Need help chosing a battery.

Hey guys, I'm in need of upgrading my battery for my sensation 4G. I currently have the Anker 1900mah (really around 1700 mah) and was wondering if I would see a significant improvement if I purchase either the chichitec 1930mah or the Mugen 1950mah batteries for HTC evo 3D (Since they both are compatible with sensation). Currently the price for the mugen battery is really putting me off but if someone already proved that it performs as well as its advertised, I don't mind making this investment. Thanks for the help!
I had exactly the same dilemma as you, now using the Anker which is good but not great, and looking for a better one.
The review I found HERE convinced me to buy the mugen, just haven't received it yet but I'll post a review when I finally have it!
Good luck with your choice!
Hey atticus182, thanks for your reply, I'll be looking forward to your review. The thing with mugen is that i'm also kind of scared off by the review performed at batteryboss.org. Deep down I'm hoping this is an isolated case but we'll just let the tests do the talking.

[Q] Mugen VS Anker

Hello Guys,
My question is which battery is the best - Anker 1900 mAh (which actually proved to be around 1700 mAh) or Mugen Power 1950 mAh for Sensation/EVO 3D (not sure of the capacity is real). I have tried to find which battery is the best (even read the entire Anker thread) but I was unable to get a definite answer. I could see that Mugen is twice the money of Anker but it is coming from a well known company and also has temperature sensor. However Anker is a lot cheaper and provides good enough juice for its 15 bucks.
My HTC Sensation costs around $500 so I wouldn't mind giving $40 more for the Mugen battery but if the performance is small compared to the Anker battery I would prefer the latest.
So my question is which one is the best and have anyone tested both of them?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
I am in the same predicament, been investigating the topic for a while now and... I guess they're very much alike - you won't find many (if any) people that bought Anker and swapped it for Mugen or vice versa.
The main thing is lack of disappointed people, can't see valid complaints against any of them, therefore my choice will be Anker - just because I a greedy bastard...
I have both and have used both for some time and I can say that the Mugen definately performes better than the Anker. Roughly I'd say that the Anker gives me 10% extra time over the original and the Mugen 25%, yeah it's really that good.
Downside is of course the price, but if you have some money, do buy the Mugen
Thank you atticus182. So it seems that Mugen is significantly better than Anker. Just in case I submitted a ticket with Mugen asking if I could return the battery if it proves to be with less capacity than 1950 mAh. Will let you know when they reply.
DaHorse: If Mugen prove to be real 1950 mAh then the price is justified but I guess I will just have to check it by myself.
Meanwhile if there are other forum members that have tested both batteries?
you can check out this thread to see people's performance in regards to the Mugen battery.

It seems like its pretty definitive that the Mugen will indeed outperform the Anker. the problem is their store is out of stock until december 9th so you can't even get it for a reasonable price until at least then. Also, don't forget about the review done at batteryboss.org in which the reviewer showed that they might not be as great of a brand name as you thought.
As said, my vote goes to the Mugen.
Darn it, just ordered an Anker... Maybe give it a try and then buy the Mugen half december to compare. Didn't spot the Mugen topic btw.
I vouch for mugen too. Mines (htc evo 3d 1950mah) lasts almost a full day on heavy use. Plus the temp sensors work unlike anker.
I have the Mugen and am very happy with it. I used to get home from work with 40 - 45% battery left on stock. Now with the Mugen I have 60 - 65% left

For me there is no real question...I don't know what is Anker...just saw a lot of spamming everywhere on how cheap and cool it is.
I know that I'm a Mugen fan for their quality, service and social presence. When it comes to performance - I'm using Mugen 3300mAh for a year already on my Nexus S and know at least two people with HTC phones who cannot live without their batteries. I don't mind giving extra 30-40$ for good quality, support, warranty and facebook presence for such a niche brand. Mugen rocks!
I already have the Anker and am pretty happy with it but I'm considering getting the Mugen as well. Can't decide though..

Lol if anything your post sounds more like spam. I know mugen is a good brand obviously, but the anker thread is 120+ pages for a reason. not just spam.
also, why do you care about a brand's "social presence"?
Hello my friends,
sorry for my question here but i wouldn´t like to open a new thread for my question.
Also, who can i buy a original Mugen Accu for my Sensation. My original HTC Accu have enough power for me but i like a little bit more and i think Mugen is the best way or does the anker pass to me better?
Yours sincerely
BS
PS: Sorry i´m not so good in english
Is there another battery monitor app besides battery monitor widget that tells you the battery's capacity?
Sent from my Sensation 4g using XDA App

There is no app for that. You need hardware to check the power of the battery.

what about Chichitec? $20 on amazon
I think Chichitec and Anker are almost the same in performance. I'd go for Anker because of its lower price.
I just shelled out for a Mugen battery. Why did I go for Mugen over Anker? Well, the reason is a bit lame, but I just don't feel right buying that sort of thing from (and only from) eBay, of all places...
both types are made in same factory in china?

Suggestion request: battery for our phones.

In Android General is a thread talking about battery life... I recommend reading it.
I started a new thread to ask averyone if you, owners of a Desire S, have bougth a better battery on ebay or amazon or a site like that, and if it worth the price.
In example, I found a battery on Ebay that has (the seller says it has) 2430MAh, search for it because I cannot link pages yet.
Can anyone suggest me/us?
2430=fake
you have 2 options that are known as good ones
1) anker-
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Anker-1600m...6?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4aae657046#shId
2) mugen power, more reliable, i think that quality is better, 1800, but costs much more (search for coupons, 10-15% off can be found all the time)

I'll aggree with what Tik_Tak suggested and while being a person that, when it comes to my cell phone, always does a good research I'd say that Anker batteries are an awesome value for money.
On the other hand the Mugen batteries are known, from what I've found in several forums, to be better in quality and they have a larger capacity.
Personally I ordered a Mugen last week and by the end of the next week I'll have it in my hands.
Ok guys, thnxs for the quick replies. I also thought that 2430 should be fake, but then I saw 90+ sells, thats why I post that.
This can also to be an advice for other owners.
I will ask another thing, if anyone know the answer: why haven't the industry improved the batteries of our phones? I mean, why not create batteries of 2000+MAh? that will only be translated in the size of our phones, just some milimeters more, isn't it?
PS: thanks @Tik_Tak for the links, really helped me.
Check out the Desire S accessories forum.
I opened a thread regarding the 1600mah Mugen battery.

[Q] Extended battery for Samsung Galaxy S i9000 (3500mAh vs 4500mAh)

Hello there,
I am new here. First off, I know there's already a thread about a 4500mAh battery, but I have further questions.
So, obviously I own a Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000 and decided to buy a larger capacity battery due to the fact that my phone doesn't last more than 1 day (I use a lot of applications, send many SMSs and also talk a lot). I thought about having a bigger battery because I also travel a lot and I don't have where to charge my phone very often.
Ok, back to the subject. I have found 2 kind of batteries on eBay. Here are the links:
ebay.co.uk/itm/4500mAh-High-Capacity-Battery-for-Samsung-Galaxy-S-I9000-with-Black-Back-Cover-/370768703601?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item5653897071
and
ebay.co.uk/itm/190735226724?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648
4500mAh = 10 pounds (shipping included)
3500mAh = 4,38 pounds (shipping included)
I must admit that numbers fool me. Even though the 4500mAh battery is 2,5x more expensive, I still feel like buying that one instead of 2x or 3x 3500mAh (this way I would also have spare backcovers). The thing is that I've read that the 4500mAh might be fake, while the 3500mAh are 2x 1500 mAh batteries glued together which are not very good. Therefore, before purchasing any of the two, I need some advises. So, please enlighten me which one is better or/and which one should I choose.
P.S: I've seen some 5000+ mAh external charger too, but I am not really interested in it. I'd rather carry with me 1 or 2 more batteries with me.
Any answer would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you in advance and sorry if I posted this on the wrong section.
bump -.-
I can't believe this.. really.. nobody can give me any advice? -.-
