Hey guys here is the way to connect to pc
Case 1(your phone drivers are not installed correctly)
The best way is to install kies Download samsung usb drivers for mobile phones
Use moborobo pc suite
Case 2(u have installed drivers properly but still it is not recognized)
"Run "regedit"and select the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/MountedDevices" folder. See all the "Dos Devices" listed? You'll have one entry for each physically mounted drive (HDD or Disc) plus you'll have one show up for each USB drive you attempt to insert. Double click each device listed and seeifyou seetextsaying something like"U.S.B.S.T.O.R...". Once you find that device, right click it and select "Rename". Now change the drive letter to something unused... like Q: or something. Close regedit, disconnect the USB device and reconnect

Hi, I'm having an extremly annoyning issue with my S8530. I can't seem to make Windows XP SP3 32-bit recognize properly my phone. I have install all the drivers I could find (old, new, from official site, from the undergorund of the internet) and it still gets stuck on detectic USB Serial Port giving just the message that something went wrong and it can't install driver (from auto-detecting devices from Windows). It did install Composit and Modem parts of the drivers but it allways stuck at that part no matter what driver I pre-install, how many restart I do to the PC, how many USB ports I keep chainging, how many USB cables I swap, how many restart I give to the phone. I'm starting going bananananananananananananananananananas.
Any ideeas are greatly apriciated.

Are you trying to get the USB Mass Storage to work or the ADB over USB?
The normal Windows Mass Storage driver should work on anything.
If you are trying to get the ADB driver to work you may need to
add your VID/PID to the INF file for the ADB driver.

ADB over USB so I can make Kies recognize my phone, wich won't work in Mass Storage. And it should be plug and play (after installing Kies wich installs the drivers or by just intalling the drivers alone). I don't have other machines to trie with Windows 7 (wich allways worked before) and my current PC barelly handles 5 open tabs of Chrome so no Windows 7 options here.
Plug your phone into the Windows box.
Go to Device Manager and find under Properties the VID/PID.
Check the INF file for the ADB driver and see if your IDs are in there.
If not, make a section like all the other sections with your VID/PID in it.
Install the driver.
I've tried the following:
1) Installing HTC Sync Manager and HTC Sync (the older version of Sync Manager)
2) Installing the drivers included with hasoon's All-in-One Toolkit.
Neither works. Both methods result in a device labeled "E:" showing up under "Portable Devices" in Device Manager, but adb devices shows no devices, and if I choose on the phone to use it as a disk drive, it does not show up under My Computer.
I previously had a Galaxy Nexus and I had the adb usb drivers installed for that. The only thing I can think of is that the computer is somehow still defaulting to those drivers instead of using the HTC drivers, but I don't know how to solve that problem, if that is even the problem.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Oh, and I also had the android-sdk installed for my Galaxy Nexus. Any chance that completely uninstalling it would help?
I had the same problem but i just figured out how to make my PC to see the HTC One S
(My Windows 7 is in Italian, so I don't know the exact translation for the links)
Start -> Right click on Computer -> Manage -> Devices -> Select the HTC Android Phone USB Device you will have in "DVD/CD-ROM", right click on it and "Deactivate" it, then you have to right click the other HTC Android Phone USB Device you will have under "Disc units" or something like that and right click it, then "Software update" (I repeat, I don't know how the buttons will be in English since I'm on Italian windows, but it'd be similar) and select the second button "Search driver software in my computer" then again the button below "Choose manually" and then just click on "Disc unit" and finally "Next" and it should work...

Try this first:
Install drivers on you PC, as you have done. Also don't forget to enable "Debugging mode" in settings. After that, when you connect phone to PC, don't select anyhing, leave it at default of "just charging".
If after the above it still won't work, then you will have to:
1) Uninstall the drivers that you installed from the toolkit.
2) You will need to change how windows handles installation of drivers, once the device is connected.
a) Right click on "Computer", then properties.
b) From the left, click on Advances System Settings
c) Click on Hardware tab.
d) Click on the second button "Device Installation Settings"
e) If you have "Yes..." selected, select "No" instead.
f) Now select "Install driver from Win Update if it is not found on my computer and save!
3) Restart you PC
4) Go to the Hasoon's All-in-One Toolkit folder and install HTC drivers again. Just make sure your phone isn't connected at this time.
5) After intallation is done, just connect you phone. Make sure "debbuging icon" is present on the phones notification bar and that is it, you don't need to enable usb storage mode.

I connect my usb to the android device. my computer and android device, both detect the connection.However the folder open device files doesnt show up in my computer...and neither when i go to my computer i see my android device. how can i fix this?

I do this steps
Connect your Android-powered device to your computer's USB port.
Right-click on Computer from your desktop or Windows Explorer, and select Manage.
Select Devices in the left pane.
Locate and expand Other device in the right pane.
Right-click the device name (such as Nexus S) and select Update Driver Software. This will launch the Hardware Update Wizard.
Select Browse my computer for driver software and click Next.
Click Browse and locate the USB driver folder. (The Google USB Driver is located in <sdk>\extras\google\usb_driver\.)
Click Next to install the driver.
When I reach the step Select Browse my computer for driver software and click Next..... again after i click android device it doesnt show up
instead stuff like this shows up E:\konika\IC-204_PCL_Vista_64-Bit_Ver_3.0.2.0 in my browse...

Has anyone tried connecting the Nexus 5 to a macbook air in bootcamp? I have MTP mode enabled but cant seem to get the phone to show up as a storage device in Computer. I was however able to connect the phone via MTP to a HP laptop no problem. Anyone have any idea what might be going on?

I had this problem with both my Nexus 7 (2013) and the Nexus 5 in Windows 8 and it came back when I updated to 8.1 (on a Windows PC, not even through Bootcamp). The following fixed the problem each time:
1) Go to Device Manager (press WIN+R, probably CMD+R in Bootcamp, type devmgmt.msc and hit ENTER).
2) Find the phone under something like Android Devices.
3) Right-click and select Update Driver Software.
4) Select Browse my computer for driver software
5) Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
6) Select USB Composite Device
Apologies if the text isn't exact, I'm actually on a Mac right now and don't have Bootcamp... and the PC I remoted into doesn't have an Android device plugged into it. But after doing all of that, Windows instantly recognized it and both MTP and USB debugging / ADB worked fine.
Hmm, so my phone is showing us as "MTP USB Device" under "Portable Devices" in device manager. And the " Update Driver Software" option is not available when I right click it.

I had the same problem!
None of the drivers works for me and the "Update driver" option is not available when my phone is plugged in.
Are you using a USB 3.0 port?
For some reason my phone works when I connect it through a USB 2.0 hub, but not when I connect it directly to the USB 3 port on my laptop.
Weird.

i go to the setting - storage - usb computer connection, and check the first one (MTP). unplug and plugit again and nothing shows on my computer.
so i tried to uninstall the nexus 5 on the device manager, unplun and plug, then right click and update software driver, browse computer for driver software, then i navigate to the latest google usb driver that i download from google, and when i try to install the driver it says: "windows was unable to install your nexus 5".
what should i do?

Try changing the USB connection to PTP and see if that works for you. If it doesn't, use this tool to help set up your USB connection. http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...olkit-wugs-nexus-root-toolkit-v1-8-0-t2517778 You don't have to actually root or unlock anything so the process should be pretty easy. All you need to do is click the Full Driver Installation Guide button and i will guide you through the process.
