[HELP] AlarmManager Wakelock -[com.android.internal.telephony.gprs] - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

friends i am cm10.1 and i have this wake locks "com.android.internal.telephony.gprs-data-stall".
i search lot but did not find any solutions for that wake locks.this wakelocks drain my battery like hell.
i reboot my phone wait for 10min and i have 30 com.android.internal.telephony.gprs-data-stall wakelocks.
i already disable gprs.and i never use gprs in my phone
i see this https://android-review.googlesource.com/#/c/40690/ and i think its need to fix in build.

I found this (same problem but in nexus s):
#7 tadejkol.. @gmail.com
I've found the solution for this, actually quite some time ago.
I noticed when I flashed CyanogenMod 10 ROM (and ROM's with commits from it), that the Phone drain and Data Stall wakelocks didn't persist. I moved to Codename Android ROM completely because of this www.codenameandroid.com . I was discussing this with a developer on xda-developers knzo, who posted his AOSP compiled crespo ROM, which had the same symptoms. He experimented with CM telephony and RIL support from codenameandroid Github (https://github.com/knzy/platform_frameworks_base/commit/e6a4f7c28f343ffe30e325350595f139820a3261, https://github.com/knzy/platform_frameworks_base/commit/5adbed5fb3e5572888a9de8c9905b677d2b95c56) and it worked perfectly, there was no Phone process showing in the battery stats and also no Data Stall wakelocks in the BetterBattery stats application.
I hope this will be fixed in coming release (4.2?).

HTC ChaCha battery drain on CyanogenMod7.2

Hello,
the forum rules do not allow to post in "Development" section, so I am posting here.
I've installed CM 7.2 ROM for ChaCha from this Thread. (Build date: 20120824).
After reboot everything looked normal, there were minor lags, but since this was my first custom ROM, I assumed that it could be related to my performance settings (Governor: conservative CPU: 245 - 800Mhz). I've switched off all data connections (gps, mobile network, wifi) and disabled all animations to see how much battery it will consume in first 24 hours. To my surprise, the phone was off and battery was completely empty in the next morning.
I've installed CPU+Temp system widget to monitor CPU load. The widget showed that on idle system CPU usage was 98%-100% on maximum allowed frequency. After reboot the idle system CPU was normal - 1-10% on 245Mhz. Then I switched on Wifi and noticed that CPUusage started to increase. I've disabled wifi but CPU usage was up to maximum and didn't drop until reboot. I found that the same problem occurs with mobile network connection.
I opened Terminal and typed "top -m 6" to see which process is using the CPU. I found that system_server.so was taking up to 90% of CPU when the problem occured. "top -m 6 -t" showed that GPSLocationProvider thread of system_server.so was using all the CPU, in despite that GPS was always off.
I've started to search the solution of this problem and found this thread, which described that the problem is that librpc.so is not compatible with HTC gps drivers.
Then I've tried SuperOSR ROM and CM9 ROM. Both did not have this problem, which was interesting since SuperOSR is very similar to CM7.2. I've returned to CM7.2 and tried to solve the problem.
I updated the HTC drivers to the latest level (gps.chacha.so and others from the latest stock rom), but it did not affected the problem.
Then I did the binary compare of /lib/*.so between CM7.2 and SuperOSR and found that just a few libs was different. One of them was above mentioned librpc.so. I've installed librpc.so from SuperOSR to CM7.2 and the problem was gone.
The CPU usage now is 0%-4% when system is idle.
I hope that it will help others which is affected by this problem and I also wish that this bug could be solved in CM7.2.
can we use this metode for CM9?
HTC Chacha with CM9
This problem is not reproduceable on CM9 on my device. I believe you have different problem with similar symptoms. If you are experiencing 100% CPU load on idle device, open terminal and run "top -m 6" to find which process is using CPU and "top -m 6 -t" to find specific thread.
More likely you are running some widget which causes hang.
Thanks for the info! CPU usage was fixed to %100 before I did what you said! Thanks again :cyclops:

You will see an app in your app-drawer that enables this service called "ROMdb Dev Tool". Please don't remove this unless you don't want to use the notification service. No other mods are built in so if you block/delete/freeze that app, that should be the end of it. When an update is uploaded, you will get a notification that an update is ready. Thanks, masta! You're CM10.1 build is the best I've come across, easily a daily driver. Thanks for all that you do!
So just FYI I've got (on a CM derived ROM) audio working perfectly (and confirmed by multiple people) with no lags or stuttering. This includes bluetooth streaming, talking, etc. In call volume is working perfectly as is speakerphone. If you need any help mastamoon getting it working on your builds let me know I'll be happy to help.

Well this would just be awesome. This is exactly what I'm looking for, a build with all of these things working. I was so happy when BT audio worked in the beginning, and then they borked it in the name of open source lol.
And the worst part is JB TW ROMs crackle on BT for me, but ICS roms are fine, which makes no sense whatsoever but whatever.
Sweet, I've used your build before. Now has the most recent ones fixed the weak signal issues? I have full bars where I am now on 4.1.2, but with 4.2 before I had 0-1

Probobly not as the RIL is still a mess on 4.2 for the d2.
I know the CM guys are working on (invisiblek) so hopefully we'll have some stuff ironed out soon.

Figured, it's a shame, I really like CM10.1
Masta,
One thing. I'm on your 1-10 build and everything is gravy, except battery life. For some reason, Maps is using a lot of battery even though I haven't even opened the app. Any idea what's causing that?

I hear opening and closing Maps fixes battery drain. I keep maps frozen on my phone to stop all battery drain from location services. I don't think anything I pick/reverted should cause battery issues, but one never knows.

There are a couple things recently merged into CM that will help with that and a couple cherry picks you can do. My signal on my build is as good as it was on 4.1.
Masta, thanks for the builds. I've been on your stuff mostly since 12-18 official, which I downgraded to your unofficial. Only thing that really bothers me and my wife is the low volume on video recording. 12/17 everything was fine, but by 12/27 everything was soft. I've been dirty flashing (occasionally wiping cache/dalvik, but not data) since CM 10 back in August/September. Any idea on what's going on and why your original unofficial cm 10.1 builds worked but now they've stopped?

Hey, thanks!
That was around the time that BT audio and such died.. so maybe these audio related reverts fix that also. Give my next build a try and let us know how recording is. My phone has always seems to have ok recording volume, through both clean and dirty flashing officials and unofficials.

Have you released this if so where? I didn't see anything other than your Nexus 7 stuff.
Running Mastamoon's build from the 10th, I'm seeing that when I walk in to work and in to wifi coverage, it takes a while for my wifi symbol to turn blue. This is a similar issue of when I walk out of the parking garage, it takes a bit for the 3G/4G symbol to turn blue - and I'm totally blocked from doing data during this time. Is this known about? What must I provide log wise to help diagnose this?

I've tried that but it still drains on maps and location services. I have found that a reboot almost always fixes it. When it doesn't I just freeze it in TiB as well.

android system draining battery cm12 official

Hey, guys recently updated my opo to cm12 official.
Android system is draining a lot of battery ,around 20-25% on every charge cycle.
Some service or app is keeping CPU awake.
Anyone else facing this issue ? Any help or fix ??
Exactly the same problem!
I'm trying to find a solution but with system i don't know what can be done..
I have another issue draining my battery: the mobile radio active in some apps (Chrome and Facebook in my own phone) and I'm trying to understand if they are linked

Oneplus One - Mobile Radio Active

Phone : Oneplus One 64gb version
OS : CyanogenMod 12.1 Nightly Last Update
The problem that i have is that all my apps remain with mobile radio active when i am on 3G/4G , my question is : Is there any version of lollipop that doesn't have this issue or some kind of fix for this problem ? i tried Greenify + Xposed , but didn't have any satisfying results to keep that app.
I'm sorry if anyone else mentioned this issue before, but it's really frustrating to lose so much battery from this...
Uninstall facebook
Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
there is an xposed module for this bug
Try Calkulin's Rom, really close to stock CMS12.1 but has included the MRA bug fix
Even if the ROM contains the MRA fix, all it does is fix the incorrect stats reporting and not solving the actual problem of the radio being active after you've exited the app.
For @mrpitou @playya please find out the actual fact before misleading a user to think that a ROM with MRA fix or using it with xposed actually solve the battery drain

Now what I have read it does help for quite a few people. Can you post where it says that so I can pass on the proper knowledge. Just telling to find out the actual fact without actually posting facts yourself is counter . Thx for your assistance..
ok, I get it. It's only solving stats. Best way is still to shut off the mobile radio after using the app.

I don't think that helps, either. It might help with reporting issues, but the phone will still drain just as quickly whether it is on radio or wifi. The only real solution is to flash a kitkat rom. However, there are some LP roms that it seems to affect less - you can tell it is not bad when the screen uses at least 3 more battery than play services, android UI, or any app. The best ones I have found are the full CAF roms where you can get 6 hours SOT with minimal tweaking,
Ok thanks for the advice @phoneturf
I read in Sultan's rom there are some issues with volume that can't be set during calls.
out of luck
I've intesively researched this issue and it seems to be somewhere deep in the android system, nobody really knows how to fix it although it's already pretty certain whats causinng it
The issue only occurs when using mobile data, when an app has used the mobile data connection it doesn't shut it off, resulting in the radio still being active
it does however not use up any of your data plan, the radio is just being left on for some reason
your only solution right know is to wait for android marshmallow and hope that google has resolved the issue by then

Is Nexus5 Wifi battery Draining issue fixed in 6.0.1?

Hi guys,
Android 6.0.1 is released few hours back.
Including me, many others are facing wifi battery draining issue after updating to 6.0 (see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/wifi-plaguing-android-marshmallow-t3220031).
Is this issue fixed in 6.0.1?
Why did you open a new thread? It would have been easier to continue in the existing thread.
Anyway, flash the update and let us know
Not fixed
This issue not fixed in this update.:crying:
I installed it yesterday.... it shows wifi is consumed 24% battery in statistics....
I think google will never fix this issue.... :crying:
