Nice to know. I'm already subscribed with Lookout. For $30, they'll track and backup 2 mobile devices, plus they carry features like saving the last known location before the battery runs out. Sounds like LoJack will only work with the S4 variants ... for now.
EDIT: Actually, I think Lookout does the tracking for free. For $30, they add a "safe browser", Think Norton Internet Security. Anyhow ...

Cerberus! Cost 3$ for lifetime, 5 devices at a time, full tracking, disabling, picture taking, locking, wiping, all the kit, and it works great

This and it survives between full wipes

Useless if the thief knows how to flash a ROM:
Samsung also says that the LoJack app is built right into the firmware, which makes it persistent through factory resets. But it probably won’t be persistent through ROM flashing, so if you flash ROM’s you might want to be weary of that.

nothing. It doesn't survive rom wipes, it only survives factory reset/data wipe

Its made a system app so you can factory reset all you want but it won't survive putting a new ROM on.. Although between it being a system app and hiding it from the app drawer I think were still pretty good... Honestly the average thief/guy stealing at a bar or whatever isnt going to know enough to come on here find a ROM download it and flash.. Some will but most won't.. Even if they do by the time they get there I'll have a picture of them, GPS location, and siren going off

No thanks. It'll get hacked someday and some thief, or worse the government, will know exactly where me or my kids are at all times.

To be clear, I only wipe once as well. I saw some trolling, so i had to troll back! Nothing wrong with wiping multiple times either. I didn't think it would come this far as well.
Two things...
1) I have thought the same thing as the OP, 3 wipes does nothing that 1 doesn't
2) This turned into one of the greatest threads I have ever read...
I never wipe....
Duh! Everybody knows you have to wipe 5 times.
It mat not be necessary now, but I think the reason it started was because CWR had an issue at some point where sometimes it required more than one wipe to really accomplish a FULL wipe. I don't know if the TB ever had this problem but because of the issue some people got into the habit of doing a 3X wipe. It most certainly doesn't hurt.

[Q] OPINION - What's the lightest and most powerful ROM?

I'm currently on qkster's stock rooted rom (which is awesome, by the way), but I'd like to try something a littler more fun.
Here's my concern - I'd like it to be relatively light RAM-wise. I get a ton of slowdown (even when using Advanced Task Killer) and am curious if any of the current roms have a lighter memory footprint.
I also need bluetooth and GPS.
So, anyone who's flashed 'em all (or even a few) have a recommendation?
Thanks in advance!!!!

I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, but the only light roms are Vagabond, AEON, and [Dev]a station. All of which are excellent choices. I believe AEON might be the lightest due to Bigfau's choice of apps and such.

qkster rom is great...you get a ton of slowdown? Must have a ton apps running? Powerful depends on the users hands...sure if we both have the same Heavy Duty F350 Ford Truck, but all you do is drive around town and I use mine on the Ranch hauling, pulling, working the fields...your definition of power is different than mine...btw I'm Ford Fan...

ATT Galaxy S4..Just Received An Update

I have no idea what this update is, but my buddy was playing with his ATt S4 and went to check for a update and there was one. It waslike 26 or 27mb so it was small.

According to most sources this update has zero affect on that part of the system. This is supposed to be strictly performance.
Same here SF Cali
Okay so how do we know if it is safe to apply this update? I would like to fix some lag but in no way harm my chances of unlocking the bootloader.
Can someone pull the update file and examine it?
Also in SF Bay Are CA

There's no way to know until someone like Adam or Dan start looking it over. Gonna have to give them at least a day or two too get the update and dissect it.
Ultimately only Dan is gonna be able to tell us for sure, which I'm sure he will in the coming days, in the mean time just chill, the OTA isn't gonna go anywhere XD

Well, update went through. Lag seems less significant. A few hiccups here and there, but it seems to be better. Less hiccups than before, at least.
Facebook and IGN apps scroll more smoothly as well. Opening and closing is a bit snappier. Been trying to open and minimize a bunch of apps to induce a hiccup, it's not doing it. Swiftkey is also opening more smoothly (well, instantaneously). Overall seems better. I'm content.

KEEP THAT IN MIND! simply checking for an update will download it!
EDIT: okay thank god it didn't install the update... just downloaded it.... phew...
Does anyone know which app I need to clear data on to reset the time window for the OTA checker? I checked yesterday afternoon before this update dropped and it's making me wait...

I think root will be available relatively soon, though-- a week at the very most, is my guess. The ROM seems to have been in the possession of several developers for a few weeks, since many S5 features have been back ported to some custom S4 Touchwiz ROMs.
Check the 'General' section - root has been found ?
