The galaxy tab 8.9 LTE is very different from it's brothers, the 3G/Wifi 8.9 and the 10.1. It is more similar to the skyrocket. Da_G, a dev here, has worked out the root for the device and he doesn't even have one. Reason I am asking is because we need some more developers over there who actually own the device, and it seems like the logical transition would be from skyrocket development.
Thanks.

Honestly, I was planning on buying the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, and getting the OG SGS II, since I already have the Skyrocket.
How is the tab? Is it good?
I considered it for a while, but I already have a tablet and all the people who I could have given the tablet to I knew wouldn't use it, and to me it didn't make sense to spend more money to get what I really wanted for free. Overall though it sounded like a good deal.
I did get tablet with my skyrocket and give as gift on christmas to one of my nephew since i have two iPads.
is that a special offer from ATT?
nevermind. Saw it on ATT's site.
Yes it is .....
tablet is nice, better than the old galaxy 8.9 and 10.1 with the 1.5 ghz chip and lte capabilities.
I got two for free...WITHOUT buying a tablet
/bragging
I was attempting to upgrade our phones to refurbished galaxy s2's that were on sale for $9.99 via ATT premier. The guy was nice enough to offer me a new one for the same price (week of christmas and I had already had a lot of trouble with ATT). I pushed my luck a little and asked if I could get "the other variant" of the S2 - the skyrocket. He said sure.
I wonder how hard it would be to modify a 727 rom to work on the 957...

hello everybody!
i have a question..
firstly, you must know that i am owner of a Samsung Galaxy Note N7000. I bought it two months ago. now, Samsung has released the new Galaxy Note 2.. And here is my question, Can i exchange my Galaxy Note and some money for a Galaxy Note 2? I googled it and i didnt't found anything, but, on some galaxy note 2 reviews, i see some comments like "I cant wait note 2 go on market, so i exchange my galaxy note n7000 with it!
is that possible? thanks for all and really sorry for my bad english!
question : do you really need a note 2? what this new phone can do for you differently than the old?
phone: sgs2 GT-I9100
kernel : dorimanx 5.79beta
main rom: rr 2.7
second rom: cm 9.1
baseband: I9100XXLQ6
Specs are slightly better but I wouldn't get the note 2 right away, unless it had way better specs.

i want the note 2 for quad core and 2gb ram which are far more better than galaxy note 1..i just wanna know if i can exchange mine note for the new !
bump. none has the answer to my question?
Dude why don't you go back to the store and ask it there if you're lucky they'll exchange it but i really think they won't
don't forget to hit the thanks button:d

The problem is that their English is worse than yours. "I cant wait note 2 go on market, so i exchange my galaxy note n7000 with it!" is actually "I cant wait note 2 go on market, so i can sell my galaxy note n7000 and buy the Note 2!"
As a former cellphone store owner, I can tell you that unless you were a very good customer (maybe you'd been upgrading phones with me for 10 years), I wouldn't exchange a phone with you. And if I did you wouldn't like how little I'd give you for yours, even if it's only 2 months old. It's used and I have to sell it as used, so it's not worth very much to me.
Selling it privately will get you a lot more money. (A dealer might give you US$50 for it, and I'd give you that much too. Of course a dealer might tell you he's giving you more for it, but then charge you full list price - or even more - for the Note 2.)
Hello i ordered a galaxy note 2 from amazon but it is on backorder now. My question is are there any galaxy note 2 owners here? I was looking at the Tab 2 @ my local office depot & was wandering should i have just kept my GS3 & got me a Tab 2 since they're kinda close to the same size (The note 2 & Tab 2). Anyone here have the note 2 & the Tab 2???

I have the note 2 and am getting the Tab 7 P3100. so I can SIM swap and use the larger TAb as a phone on trips. No sense in buying the WifFi only American version so I am getting the International version to match the note and stay on ATT dumb phone plan with a Tablet. I would never get rid of the Note 2 as a phone. In fact if Samsung comes out with a 6" screen on the Note I will not use both.
I have a note 2 and had a tab 2. Tab 2 is okay but if you have a gs3 there is no point. Now the note 2 is the best tab I have ever owned.

Had a note 2, stunning phone. Saw the tab 2 p3100, thought" perfect tablet size& it has a phone". Purchased one, flashed jelly bean to it, and stuck my note 2 on eBay!
I use this with headphones and its my perfect all in one device.
The screen and memory aren't as good as the note 2, but jelly bean makes such a difference in performance.
CES is in January, and MWC in February. Samsung will definitely up their game in the 7 inch tablet market considering the kindle fire HD and the nexus 7!. So for me its a no brained as the tablet version with the phone capabilities is loads cheaper than the note 2!!

Which means both My Note II and Tab 7 will be replaced by one device...... I cannot take even a 7" tablet everywhere. A 6.3" phone with minimum bezel is pocketable.
Just picked up the Note 2. While I can see my tablet use dropping now, I'm sure it won't disappear. There are times where a tablet is just easier to use, such as reading a book. The battery also lasts a long time in my Tablet, pretty much regardless of usage. I've heard the Note 2 is a beast when it comes to battery life, but I haven't been able to experience it first hand yet. It'd be nice to only have one device, but I doubt that will happen.
I have a note 2 and recently got a tab 2 albeit the 10.1...
The tab is going in the car.
I think anything bigger than the note 2 won't be usable as a daily device/phone

Is this feasible...I mean, can anyone see someone trading the upcoming new One, or S5 for a Note 3?
If so, I'd like to try this.
I mean, people trade S4's for the Note II quite often...
Which one would you go for?
OnePlus One
Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Motorola Nexus 6
This really should go in the dedicated 'What should I buy' thread.
At any rate, what are you looking for in the device? The OnePlus One comes with a version of CM, the Nexus 6 is easiest to mod, and the Note 3 offers the Spen and true multitasking but comes with KNOX.

Not what should I buy
I would buy OnePlus One if I had to.
I just wanted to know the opinion of other people.
Ah. Alright.
Why are you not considering the Note 4?
No doubt about it; the One Plus One as it is overall an excellent device containing no bloatware (Samsung), and not too big (Motorola) but updates and support will probably if not all ready stop due to One Plus and Cyanogen splitting but here on XDA you can still find out how to update it
Kinda sad they're already splitting, but yeah, OPO should be the go-to-phone for right now just because of how powerful it is versus the price.
