I might tend to agree with you. An example of the fakeness is that its got the same processor as the one x yet scores far lesser than the one x.If this continues to hold true might have to go for an xperia L

I just purchased. The Xperia L has lesser Aututu scores though. People were saying Xperia is better and has development. But nonetheless, we should start development for the device.

Already tried a week ago no reply.
I think someone should try customer service number and ask.
Also should mention that if they refuse it is a violation of the gpl licensing terms and a complaint will be filed with the gnu.
any one already with the device can you check wether its got a fastboot bootloader or a custom one.
read some where its got a standard fastboot one.
EDIT : to go into fastboot mode ...
power off the device
press volume up and power key wait till a menu appears.
alternative press power + volume up key for 3 sec then leave power and keep volume pressed till menu appears.
if this works try this command for bootloader unlock.
Code:
fastboot oem unlock

bump hey can you do what i said in my previous post not the bootloader unlock command every thing else please. Dont worry its safe.

I want to purchase this phone.. can anyone already having it could tell me about the pros and cons.. any problems facing with the OS.. Any lag or hang issues?
and what about the battery life.. If anyone can do a quick review, it will be very helpful for me..
I know its specs are impressive but like most domestic companies don't optimize the OS which causes many performance related issues..
Any reply would be appreciated...
Thanks in advance

EDIT: unlock fails. However, there is a recovery which can be achieved by adb reboot recovery command. Will try temp cwm.
EDIT 2: Stock android recovery works. Unable to find a cwm that will boot. sending successful, booting fails. note that i have not flashed cwm but sending. fastboot boot cwm.img
Pro's: Tegra 3 games run awesome. Bechmark awesome. 12k on antutu. Repeated benchmark will reduce score as nvidia chips have a mechanism to reduce heat, overload, it reduces ghz if too much heat/ repeated usage. Good gaming.
Con's: Weaker signal (2g) havent tried 3g. also might be cuz of rain here past few days. Only problem indoor. Outdoor signal is good. GPS locking is bad. Might be also because of rain. not sure. Not FCC certified meaning the radiation levels not tested. Most companies have approved certificates for safe radiation levels. Not sure about XOLO. If 16k is your budget, this would be the only QUALITY handset out there. Rest are all mediatek POOP.

Is it safe to assume that this device will ultimately be supported here at XDA (since it is so awesome )? I really want to buy this phone but won't buy unless it can be rooted and custom ROMS are available.

Well, then I will wait for at least a month before I buy a new phone. Right now my HTC One V is doing pretty well with Slim Bean . T1000 is much cheaper than the Nexus.

well you see a developer post here saying Im buying this device and will get a custom rom soon. then you can be assured.
so far from what I see maybe the sp tools(used by all mtd devices) might just not work but thats my guess.
so we need cwm first and then flash any root packages.but so far its all speculations and guess work.

wont work booting woks only with unlocked bootloader you will have to write to the partition.(though that too might be blocked).

Hey. I ordered mine from the same site I had to wait 5 days for the item to come into stock..but when it shipped it arrived within 24 hours. The software shows its 4.0.9 and it comes with google play. So far ive managed to install many popular games such as shadowgun and it runs without a hitch. The only problem i have come across so far is that my head candy headphones dont fit in the audio jack

Well its a good thing to know someone on the forum has actually physically got the set.
Its a new one for you, but do you by any chance plan on to do the rooting and customization of ROM/mods as mentioned on this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646544&page=140
I know the thread is for HaiPad MTK6575 i9220....however I guess all of us are waiting for any real proof that the mods are working on the MTK6577 version as well ....
So if by chance you plan on doing anything, then please do post the results over here...would be a great help for the guys like me who are waiting to order this set.
Thanks.
I have been looking around for confirmed rooting techniques but haven't come across any yet.
I am really impressed by the speed and responsiveness of the phone so far.

The custom base on the CWM 5.5.0.4 and correct the fs.tab (MTK6575 / MTK6577 partition number different !)
installation steps
1) flash the custom recovery with "Flash tool" (select the recovery image only in flash tool)
2) keep the volume-up / power button together around 15sec , into the recovery mode
2-1) wipe data/factory reset
2-2) wipe the cache partition
2-3) advanced -> wipe dalvik cache
2-4) install zip from sdcard -> choice the zip from sdcard -> get the correct zip file and press the power button for starting
2-5) reboot system now !
3) Finished !
Have some body know, How about the process for "factory reset" in Official ROM ???
This action should be have some script for it ,right ??? Which / Where is this script ???
Due to Haipai-x710d / STAR-N9770 will kill the /sdcard and /NVRAM partition during "factory reset" , so I think ,maybe the script mistake !!!

That doesn't work. Either you flash an entire (already rooted) firmware, OR you can extract the bootimage from the update.zip, use the Scatter file for flashing the custom recovery and ONLY(!!!!!!) flash the boot image.
And here's a little warning: A factory reset will KILL the phones (both, x710d and N9770) IMEIs!
But if that happens, they can be recovered
I made little "review" videos of these phones to be found on youtube or my blog

[Q] I want to build CyanogenMod 10 for my Samsung Galaxy Chat B5330 myself. Help!

Okay so I've bought a samsung galaxy chat B5330 device back in feb'2013. Don't ask me why cause I conciously bought it. So I realised after searching for 6 months that there is no interest of developers in this device. so I have taken up the initiative to 1) Build CM 10, 2) Port CWM, 3) Root the device myself. However I don't have much idea about building android. I've rooted and flashed Custom recovery n ROMs to my dad's phone before and I'm a geek so I learn things quickly about computers n phones. So I'm nor a complete newbie neither a Master developer. Therefore I need help of those devlopers who will be kind enough not to discourage me. Anyone can root a device which is more popular because it gets vulnarable too quickly so there is no point in telling me that "you should have bought a device which has developer support". I am interested to be a developer myself n that challenge is really so tempting to me. So here are my questions which I don't have exact idea about.
1) I have a computer of the config -> AMD fx 6100 hexacore buldozer 3.3 GHz/4 GB RAM/500 GB HDD/Windows7(32) & Ubnuntu 13.04(64). Can I do the job of building roms from the source with this config in the first place?
2) Does galaxy chat B5330 support 'fastboot'? if yes then How can I boot into fastboot mode? I've tried with adb 'reboot-bootloader' but the device just restarted normally. So I don't know How can I get into the fastboot mode?
3) CM developers are really kind enough that they have put alot effort into making the wiki. I've got precious informations about building android from source and all. But I have a confusion. There was mentioned fastboot is necessery for building CM. So if my phone does not have fastboot should it mean that I can't build CM for my device at all?
4) How much data do I have to download? Do I need to be connected to the internet always while editing local file? n If I use 'repo sync' to update the code always won't my editings get overwritten by stock code again?
so these are few basic questions I have for now. I know I might not get any response at all. But there's no harm in trying. thanks

The best way to start is to use another Rom as base (get permission first) then start tweaking it with scripts, apps and build.prop tweaks. Once you start to get familiar with the basics, start experimenting with different tweaks. Since you are going to create a Cyanogenmod 10 Rom from scratch, I give you best of luck and hope many people will use it!
FINALLY!

[Q] Acer Liquid S1

Hi all,
Since there is still no device specific forum for the Acer Liquid S1.
Me and probably many other people who own this budget 5.7" phablet beast consider this phone as a device that certainly deserves his own forum
Until there is a device specific forum I created this thread so every S1 owner can share tips and questions regarding the Acer Liquid S1 (=S510).
I didn't see any request for a device specific forum, so make sure to request it here:

Haven't seen anyone try it yet - but I'd guess it's done through the standard MTK-procedures? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160490
Possibly even motochopper that works for the Liquid E2? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40747604
Hope there will be some dev around this phone too
Agreed and now looking at the details of new Acer Liquid S2 - I feel it definitely deserves it's own section - especially when I compare the specs to the likes of Ultra and Note III a worthy competitor and would like to see some development and discussion on this model.
ps: added a request to create forum - in the new devices section - hope someone does create one and we can see some new development on this
Trying to root it, but this device seems to be well locked. :/

Thats bad news, this is what is holding me off getting it at the moment. I did find a link when searching for a solution that led here :http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=2798984876&uk=2318828147 (it is in chinese).
Don't know if it works though, been searching for confirmation of the device rooted but with no luck though.
Hi spanner44, that tool failed to root the S1

Thats a shame.
The main reason I need to root initially, is to be able to transfer my files from existing phone. Does anyone know if Helium would enable this ?
If this works, then I don't mind going for this phone, and as long as I can transfer my data, I can hold out for root until hopefully more developers get on board.
Helium could be enough yes. What files exactly do you need to transfer?
Envoyé depuis mon S510
Mainly my game files, well Subway surfers for definite. My apps I can download again from the play store. Of course some games are now connected via G+ sign in, so they are alright, it is just a shame that this feature isn't compulsory on all apps/games. It would make the transition to a new phone easier.
The camera is just of average
Just bought Acer Liquid S1 a couple of weeks ago. Everything works fine except for the camera. With 8MP camera fitted on it, the quality of the picture is just mediocre. The front camera (2MP) is also disappointing, full of noise when it is used indoors. There's no visible notification when the display is off. Therefore, we need to turn on the display to check whether there's a miscall or incoming email or text message.
Is there any way in which I can have root access for this phablet? I have ODIN software installed in my laptop, and I just need a *.tar file special for this product to root it.

We manage to have root working on the Acer S510 (S1)
Check out our French Forum : http://acer-club.fr/viewtopic.php?f=210&t=9323
@gbas4nie don't use Odin, it's only for Samsung devices....
Edit : And tools are also available on my website : http://acer.shreps.fr
Just moved over from Samsung Note to this phone as it's Dual Sim. Brilliant, as I no longer have to carry two phones with me. Works great. and less than half the price of a Note. I miss the stylus, but apparently a dual sim Note may be coming soon!
Hello, is there any root-guide in english available?

Hi that's strange as the app that flashes will check the ROM version and won't flash if your system is not as expected. Did you use the app ?

ASUS Transformer TF303

With a desperate need to replace my TF700T, no rumours anywhere of a TF701T replacement coming, the only "new" Transformer coming to the UK being the entry level TF103 and a Facebook post reply from ASUS UK stating that they've no intention to bring the TF303 to the UK, I've ordered a TF303CL from Germany -- yeah, yeah, squiffy keyboard I know ...but less than ½ what I paid for TF700.
Has the buzz and excitement gone out of the TF line now as when I was looking at the Prime and then the Infinity there was quite a furore over them but the TF103 and TF303 have appeared with hardly a whisper about them on the internet. There is still nothing else out there that that offers the combination of features that the Transformers do with regards keyboard, trackpad, ports, etc. I'm disappointed that ASUS seem to have embarked on de-specing the Transformers. Is it all about the Transformer Books now?
Will this be a mainstream enough device to get its own section on here?

I have the TF303CL for a while now and am very pleased with it! But have not found anything yet on rooting the device etc. Hoping it will get it's own section here, but have my doubts
Got a TF303K, very pleased with it but still looking for a way to get root.
Also I noticed that busybox installer reports it as already rooted but not able to install busybox binaries so no root yet...
Will gladly see a dedicated section!
edit: did anyone tried towelroot?
edit2 : not working

Try this app. There few posts on 4pda.ru that say that it helped.
Thanks but did not work, it says "only for zen phones". I also tried the last version but same error. That's a strange thing as the TF303CL version can be rooted using this app.
I will keep looking for something.
If someone can try on their 303k just to confirm that it is not working.
Also I did the update when I got so maybe a factory reset might do the trick.
Edit:
got the last apk version on asusfone blog: http://www.asuszenfoneblog.com/search/label/RootZenFone
Model: K01B
System: 4.4.2
Build: KOT49H.WW_epad-11.12.1.39-20141009
RootZenFone does not shows the "root" button because it is not a zen phone, so the app is checking device name or something like that. If we can change that file then it might work ( or explode and kill every cat within a mile ).
If someone is smart enough to root the TF303K I will gladly send him an "inbox" invite or "ello" invite if it can help things moving.

Where did you purchase your TF303CL? I've been searching high and low for one but no one seems to even have them listed, let alone in/out of stock. Thanks!

And I got mine imported to the UK from Amazon.de. Again, I don't know whether Amazon.de export outside the EU - you'd have to give it a try ...and live with a German keyboard layout.
Anybody knows how to root this device?
I got my Asus Asus TF303CL-1D024A tody and try FramaRoot, TowelRoot and the App for ZEN Phones ... nothing works ...
Cant await some solution to root my Asus TF303CL...

For root: downgrade to 31.ver (from asus site), install rootzenfone 1.4.6.4r. and start procedure in airplane mode, then install supersu 2.42 apk + pro 2.05 key. In settings SU install them in system and set on boot. Then upgrade to 32.ver over air update. Note: downgrade proceed to remove your data.

Do a Google search for:
"How to root (type your device's model number here)"
Go to system settings>about phone and look around in those settings for your model number then use that model number in your search.
If it doesn't find anything for your device then there is not a known method to root your device.

If a developer that has the skills to build a ROM actually owned one of your devices or had interest in building a ROM for that device, ROMs would already be built for it.
Since there are not any ROMs for it, that means that no developers own the device, developers only build for devices they own and then share their work with the community. This device is not the kind of device that a real developer would own or be interested in building for, it is not "new" or "cool" enough.
If you want a developer to build a ROM for that device, you have to be willing to buy another device like it and donate it to a developer(if you can find a developer that is willing to build the ROM for you, you have to find them, they will NOT come to you). If you can't or won't donate a device to a developer then you won't be getting your ROM unless you or another user of the device or you and several other users of the device get together and get to work learning how to build a ROM.
Mid-range to low-end devices usually don't get support from developers, some of these devices might get/have ROMs available but that isn't because an actual developer built them, it is because a user of the device or a group of users, that are not developers, takes it upon themselves to build a ROM for the device.
If no developers have built ROMs for it, but you are determined to get a ROM, then you need to get to work learning how to build it for yourself, you stand a better chance of getting a ROM that way instead of waiting for "someone else" to build a ROM for a device that no one is really interested in.

Specs are not what really matters, it's all about how well the hardware components are made, the mid-low end devices typically do not have good quality parts, regardless of how awesome the specs look or what processor it has. A really good processor on a low rated/cheaply made motherboard isn't much to be excited about.
