hello
I have a problem with my tf300t tablet. I just try to use the parental control from asus. But i have lost the password and actually i can't connect to the wifi during few hour in the days. Can you help me?
I have to go to the states next month and i want to use my tf300 during my trip.
Is it necessary to root the tablet?
Best regards
Jacques

If you're stock, a factory reset would probably be a lot easier for you (and rooting the tablet wouldn't really help you besides, especially if you're being blocked from using the device at all).
Parental lock password forgotten
I also have the Parental Lock app set up on my tablet, and I cannot remember the password for the life of me. It doesn't give me the option to reset the password, and it also will not let me factory reset the tablet...not sure what to do. Can someone please help me??

you boot to your stock recovery and rest it fron there. as long as you are stock. hold volume down and power button. that puts you into stock recovery. from their couldn't guide you. as ive been unlocked and rooted since out the box.

I tried the whole power + volume button, I did a wipe on it. Nothing wiped though, I still have all my information, photos, music...everything. I'm not sure what you mean by stock recovery. Do I need to select a different option other then the wipe when I get to that screen?

Did you flash any custom rom... or are you with the stock? ...

Purely a guess, but turn it off and then hold down power and volume up. Keep holding it through the boot logo(s) and you may get a recovery menu where you can do a proper factory reset.
I'm a little bemused by a device that tells you to factory reset by going into the settings menu when you have forgotten your unlock password

Hey guys, how are you today? First of all, i'm sorry for my bad english. So the case is after i flashed my p6200 to stock HC XKKL7, The tablet asking me for password. As far as i can remember, i have never ever put password on my tablet. So i thought maybe i'll just have to do wipe/reset to factory settings. But after i wipe/reset it's bootlooping. And then i re-flashed it again with the same ROM, it sill asking for password. What is happening? is this normal? Anyone know about this? Thanks in advance!

Guys? anyone?
Well, if you already did a factory reset and if the device still asks for a password, it seems that the rom is password protected. And if you don t have the password then the only solution is to flash another rom...

Try This
I had the same problem after flashing it with honeycomb stock rom. This solves my problem.
1. Power off device.
2. Go to recovery mode by holding both volume Up+power button sententiously upto 10 sec.
3. Go Wipe data/Factory reset using volume Up/Down Button.
4. press power button it will select the highlighted option (for me it's wipe data/factory reset).
5. Wait for message Formatting Completed.
6. Restart tab.

Weird. Ok, well the gist:
... after a fixed number of incorrect password entries (I think 5) your phone should prompt you for the password for the gmail account the phone is registered to. If that doesn't work, shut off the phone, log into the gmail account on a website and change the password using Google's password recovery. Once the new password is confirmed, turn on the phone and try using the new password.

i finally got into recovery i guess (not bootloader?) and wiped all data and factory reset it.
Thanks for the advice though!
It's always a good idea to have a password for security reasons...but write the password down and put it somewhere you won't forget it!

Hi all,
I have a Samsung SII (T989) that's running rooted ICS 4.1.2 (tmobile)
and I enabled whole disk encryption that has been working fine for several months.
.
For some reasons, it did not accept my password to unlock now and it kept
asking me for password. It said after 20 tries it will erase so I entered after 20 times
and now it counts down saying that I have -10 tries and every time I entered a wrong
password, it just got to -1 more.
Is there a way to bypass this or how do I wipe it out back to stock? there is no option
to restore it back to stock?
yes, this is my phone and I am so frustrated. You all can see that I have been on this board for a long while.
I appreciate all your help.

You can boot in recovery (stock or custom, doesn't matter) and do a data / cache wipe. Or simply factory reset the phone.
If you still face problems, you can flash back to stock rom from odin.

You remember how you booted into recovery while rooting using the button combo?
Just boot into recovery mode and you will see options like apply update from sdcard
wipe data/reset phone
wipe cache etc.
Select wipe data/reset phone using volume up/down for scrolling througj options and home button for ok/select.
You will be asked for confirmation. Select yes and then reboot from the options you will get once it is done. Your device will be usable as it is. But you will loose all your data like contacts messages apps etc. You won't loose anything from sdcard though.
And just use the thanks button herafter for saying thanks.

A Hero Can Be Anyone. GENERAL HELP THREAD
Hi all,
can I get some help again...
I finally was able to get back to it.
The question now is:
- I cannot scroll any screen. I'm using Nova but I couldn't use my finger to scroll up and down?
It seems to be fine but I just couldn't scroll any screen.
- I couldn't pull down the status bar.
Basically, I could run any app that's on the screen, but I couldn't scroll
If this of any help: when I unlock the screen by pushing the numbers, I had to do every key twice
for it to register. For ex, to unlock the screen, before, I push '123', now I have to push '112233'
then ok twice for it to unlock. Everything is double.
Please help. I'd appreciate any suggestions.
mike
Never mind. Found that the setting->accessibility->explore by touch' was turned on for some reason and this made it unresponsive.
Turning it off made everything back to normal.

Hard to say with that few information.
Could you not into recovery mode? Have you selected to do a factory reset/wipe data?
If this does not work, there might be a Google account connected to the device.
BTW ... the tablet is locked to one app What app is it?
