FAQ
About the toolkit:
This is a very good looking toolkit with almost everything you would want to do with your shiny new HTC One! This should work on all models (conditions may vary ).
This toolkit offers a 'one-click' method of:
Using HTCDev to unlock the bootloader
Using Revone to grant S-OFF to your phone
Basic ADB commands to get you going
Basic Fastboot commands to get you booting!
Installing APKs
Sideloading!
Pushing!
Installing Drivers! (optional)
The list could go on for about 2-3 more points but I'm lazy! (forgetful)
Please enjoy, and if you like. give me a :good:, also feel free to donate but don't feel that you need to this is FREE!!, I'll send you my gratitudes!! :good:

[Q] Will this work for my device?
[A] Well it works for all HTC Ones! But for models such as the Google Edition, Verizon and Dual SIM Version everything will work EXCEPT revone S-OFF.

htc dev token unlock will work. revone, no.

For those who have (ahem... cough, cough) inadvertently wiped everything on their phone and did not have a proper back up on hand, do you plan on looking to include side loading? May be the salvation of many a noob.

Nice tool! Good intention but I think including revone in the tool needs approval? Did you ask them permission to do so?

Good intention? Yes.
Other than that? Nothing.
How do you know he didn't get the approval?
A PM to him would have been way more appropriate.

I know what you mean, believe me. I have tried to contact the OP via PM but has never responded...
I thought by what they meant is that don't include it with the toolkit. So I have made it download revone directly from their site.
If you want me to remove it or they do its fine by me.
Thanks for pointing it out though.

IMHO you did well. You gave credit, tried to contact them and linked directly to their site and more than that your GUI is free.
We have finally a useful tool that works right of the bat and it looks good.
Maybe the guys from revone are busy and sometimes you have to push more to get the result.

[ROM] 11 Apr - MoDaCo Custom ROM for the HTC One S - Sense and Vanilla styles

Hi everyone!
This is the development topic for my MoDaCo Custom ROM for the HTC One S. MoDaCo Custom ROMs are based on official ROMs - either shipping or leaked. A MCR release is designed to feel as far as possible like a stock ROM, with optimisations, tweaks and complimentary additions that enhance the user experience. The aim of a MCR is to be ultra reliable for use on an everyday device.
I am currently working on a LOT of features for the ROM (we have over 120 kitchen items already!) including including as many stock ICS options as possible. Development - as always - will take place in the kitchen, however I will be making a 'stock style' prebake available periodically as I create the ROM. Stock style and Vanilla (ICS) style prebakes will be available as the ROM takes shape.
Please see the changelog in post 3 to see the latest updates and to see what's included.
The ROM is installed via my ClockworkMod recovery. PLEASE BACKUP BEFORE INSTALLING. This ROM uses custom certificates, if you are not coming from a previous MCR release, please flash the 'to MCR' update zip as well as the main ROM. If you wish to switch from this ROM back to a stock ROM, you should flash the 'to Stock' update zip then the ROM of your choice.

The Mission StatementSIRIUS-X is a rom based off the 2.23.707.2 Asia WWE and made Vanilla HTC WWE, with elements taken from 1.94 Rogers, 1.85 AT&T, and 1.89 Telstra rom's. The plan is to provide the most stable and complete 'daily driver' for this Shining Beacon of a device. Minor 'tweaks' will be added in due time, but only once the base has been improved upon under the hood (how it should be when making a rom)
More features for functionality will be added in the future. The main configuration of the rom is as a Canadian device, using the Rogers CID, email address definitions, and build.prop definitions applied to a cleaned up 2.23 build.prop. Next version will contain ability to choose region (US/Canada/Asia/Australia) and the customizations specific to those regions.
Already included is a complete APN list for all carriers that support our device from all available regions. (So even if you're not Canadian, you can still use this rom)
Please Note: This rom will flash the Radio listed below to match the ril's that come with the rom and minimize issues that may arise related to mix and matching radio's and ril's.

Awesome non the less. I'm excited for the next few weeks (hopefully..)
Really looking forward to the development here, Cant wait to see a direct build for speed/overclock. Although i'm not sure how necessary it would be to overclock the device since its at the top of the tech chain atm. None the less, *cant wait*.

Also, I have a test CWM port built for the Evita. I just need the partitions info from last_log in cache/recovery...then I can build it again very quickly.
I will PM you (OP) with it, if you wanna test.

Hmmm. that's odd. It worked on the obnoxious files on the International...have you tried deodexing single in the Kitchen and choosing "ignore" errors? That seems to work, as long as it can assemble...
I will send the recovery, I just want to know what the sdcard partition is called...for some reason it comes out as "internalsd" on the international, but I only see "fat" on the Rogers...I am hoping that last_log has the name. I'll send it anyway, and see what happens...

[ FAQs ]
====================================================
Q1 : How to increase the abnormal limitness of volume of earpieces?
A :
http://koganefusube.blog.me/70167096326
SGS4 in South Korea has Yamaha's sound codec(YMU831) and the parameters of all of the volumes can adjustable in rom.
/system/etc/ysound.xml does, and I found that the stock values of them limited in 81.
I just changed from 81 to 100 and tested on my sgs4.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Q2 : What recovery can I use?
A :
You can use recoveries for i9500(not 9505) to E300S, E300K(I can't sure for E300L but if you know clearly plz post that)
Now I'm using Chenglu's touch CWM 6.0.2.3 and flashing update.zip and making/restoring CWM backups are working fine.
Chenglu's recovery => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2267820
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Q3 : How to set the wallpaper in the full resolution without the notification bar?
A :
http://koganefusube.blog.me/70167678454
A way to solve this is editing stock sammy wallpaper application.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Q4 : How to root?
A :
1. Change your recovery be CWMed.
Like uppon FAQ, I suggest you Chenglu's CWM Recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2267820
2. Download SuperSU v1.32
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053
3. Reboot into recovery mode(VolUP + Power + Home button for few seconds)
4. Flash SuperSU v1.32 you downloaded.
5. Reboot your phone.
6. Enjoy
In 20130519, phyb the developer in matcl announced his work. Thx to him if you want and helped by for your geeky smartphone life
※ You'll meet an error if you disabled and re-enabled su via SuperSU. If you do that, a way to reroot as flawless is just rebooting your sgs4. Then, SuperSU will work fine.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Q5 : What EQ or audio effect can I use? Stock MusicFX is boring and useless
A :
I suggest you 'ViPER4Android' if you got root your SGS4.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
I tested and applied flawless on my SHV-E300S.
It's funtionality is awesome and better than MusicFX or any EQ apps which doesn't require root permissions.
※ Note : Be sure CWM backup first for something unpredicatable situations, and some of functions in this mod consumes battery and system resources much than before you applied.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Q6 : I can't access the hidden modes from inputting 319712358 via dial pad to change the settings about RIL
A :
E300S can access skt hidden mode with 'skt hidden mode +'. You can search it on Google Play.
I don't know about other ones(sorry) but if you know about the another way like this post the reply anytime
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Q7 : I want to hide the suggested application list when I plug my earbirds at my sgs4. How can I?
A :
Unfortunately, SGS4 doens't have the setting UI about PageBuddy unlike previous sammy android smartphones
So if you want to do that, debloat all of the apps about PageBuddy.
(Or maybe just disable PageBuddyNotiSvc in Settings? I can't sure about this... if someone try and this is the way what I meant, post the reply anytime )
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Q8 : My sgs4 mobile data connection looks slow even if I connected in LTE. What should I do to be better?
A :
Disable fast dormacy and disable geltle fair sleeper.
You can use gokhanmoral's FastDormacy toggle in SGS4 to disable fasl dormacy
and you can disable gentle fair sleeper with inputting a line in terminal.
( echo "NO_GENTLE_FAIR_SLEEPERS" > /d/sched_features )
You can apply this code as init.d script or any apps doing like this
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Q9 : I want to change the color of notification bar and panel. What should I do?
A :
Install Xposed Framework and Nottach Xposed.
Xposed Framework : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
Nottach Xposed : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2285074
Note : Nottach Xposed is not for SGS4 in Korea as official so if you meet any bugs in use, that's not a bug. Just not fit for.
Note : Don't change the battery icon. If you do that, Nottach Xposed will be applied as abnormal.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Q10 : Default background of Holo UI looks not fit for XXHDPI(FHD). Can I change it?
A :
Install Xposed Framework and DitheredHoloBackground
and use the app what I uploaded in this thread.
DitheredHoloBackground : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173001
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Q11 : How to remove the carrier logo on the status bar with editing SystemUI.apk?
A :
1) Open the SystemUI.apk with Alzip
2) Go to res\drawble-xxhdpi and change tw_stat_notify_operator_logo.png into a picture filled blank with overwriting that file.
I attached an image file to change.
Note : If you just delete this image file in SystemUI.apk you want to edit and reboot after paste this, you'll be under endless reboot.
3) Paste the SystemUI.apk into your phone and reboot
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Q12 : Is there a way to make a CWM backup and restore it as easy?
A :
You can use Online Nandroid Backup and Nandroid Manager,
You can make a CWM backup without rebooting into recovery via Online Nandroid Backup.
(Note : If you want to use this flawless, install busybox stericson's one)
You can restore a cwm backup and flashing 'update.zip's as you want as possible without rebooting into recoveryt via Nandroid Manager.

Hi, does the root method in this link work on SHV-E300s?
http://digitalmisc.com/how-to-root-the-international-variant-of-samsung-galaxy-s4-19500shv-e300sk/
Does the S4 korean version work in the UK?
Do you know if the korean version will work with the UK networks?

Not only bootloader but also the fixed kernel.
In other words, it doesn't on latest one.

Can someone please verify the exact steps on how to root SHV-E300s? I mean, do I need to install custom firmwares using Odin first before rooting, etc.
It's not only for me, but for others who have this device and want to root. And n00bs like me.
Hello marbulas,
Thank you for starting our S4 info and discussion thread.
I updated the root kernel supports init.d scripts an hour ago.
I think your scripts have been still the best in sgs2.

Root?
Can you please post the rooted kernel? I can read Korean or Chinese and google translate can't translate the page for me. Also, it is asking for business information and things like that. It would be awesome if you could post it though. Thank you.
Here are ME6 rooted kernels which I repacked as supercurio's method.
Choose kernel to be matched with your carrier and flash it via Odin.

For now with latest sammy build, yes. Latest way to root is flashing kernel fixed for. All of latest sgs4s are same on this problem.
Fortunately, a way to root appeared. You'd check the main post

aslak12 posted. Thx to him
Thanks for the links. I am going to be trying this in a few. Keep up the great work and please don't forget our great phone. But which one of the files that were posted do I flash for root??
EDIT: Nevermind. I saw the differences between the files. I have to get some sleep or something. LOL.
Just updated via software update. File size is about 50+mb & it says improve stability. Updated & noticed phone running little smoother.

Okay, so I flashed the rooted kernel and now I am getting random reboots. Is there any way that you could fix this please? Thank you.

One thing that I would do to help make this thread complete is to add the stock non rooted kernels to the OP. That way if someone messes up they can fix their phone without any problems.
I haven't updated to the ME6 firmware yet. I still have the stock firmware (out of the box) MDK. Do I have to update/flash the kernel posted here to root?

If you have stock sammy rom, you don't have to look for the stock kernel.
Just make a copy the stock rom and open the tar package with data compressing softwares(alzip?) and delete files except boot.img in the tar package. Then, that's the stock kernel to turn back.

..
Thanks, definitely useful for when I wipe and flash new roms.

So useful.. because users need to re-root their device after installing a custom rom already rooted...
Come, use your brain... make something like an update.zip that flashes clockworkmod recovery then extract and ors script thats opens cwm and flashes the selected choice...
..
How does this behave with 4.3?

Updated SuperSU to 1.65
There's no need for the insults man, I mean, all I did was post a tool that I created for myself. I use Superuser 3.2 instead of 3.1.3 and sometimes switch between the two on occasion, so I made a simple aroma installer. Usually most of the roms I use have SuperSU on them which I don't prefer. It's just a matter of preference really. And, I don't know what the hell you're talking about with the cwm flashing. Every phone has a different cwm image so what you said just made no sense. As for an ors, there's basically no difference except for the fact that you can flash an aroma installer without even initiating android, so aroma is superior. I mean, it's still the same idea if I use ors instead of aroma. So why would it be useful in the case of an ors and useless in the case of an aroma installer?

Superuser by ChainsDD

3.2: Latest RC
3.3: Compiled by craigacgomez from ChainsDD's source, mainly for 4.2+
