[Q] Complete touchscreen failure - HTC Sensation

Hey Everyone,
Recently the touchscreen on my HTC Sensation stopped working, including the capacitive buttons. I pulled the battery to reset it (several times), but still the problem persisted. I then though that maybe I should do a full wipe and reflash my ROM (CM10.1 AOSP 4.2.2 Jellybean [KANG]) but I have CWM Touch installed and therefore can not achieve this from the phone. I then searched for ways to flash the ROM from the PC through adb, but haven't had much luck at finding a precise step-by-step guide on how to do this. I searched through XDA and found a thread outlining a 'foil trick' to fix a potential grounding problem, however this did not resolve the issue.
Question 1: Is this (most likely) a digitizer issue?
Question 2: If not, is it possible to flash CWM Recovery (not Touch) over the top of the Touch version FROM MY PC so that I can reflash my ROM?
Question 3: If not possible, can someone please outline the steps to be taken to wipe and flash a ROM FROM MY PC?
I have attempted to connect my phone to my PC and flash the ROM using UniFlash, but my PC does not recognise my phone as being connected. I have made sure that the drivers are installed and HTC Sync is uninstalled, but it still does not recognise the phone being connected. Cannot check if USB-Debuggung is turned on as I cannot use the touchscreen.
Anything else I should try?
Thanks,
Matt
Edit: the screen itself lights up, I can receive texts, calls, etc. but I cannot actually interact with the phone due to the touchscreen issue

Hi yh id say ul need new digitizer, they cheap on ebay. Anyway if ur s-off u can use fastboot commands to flash non touch recovery. go here
http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
Download non touch recovery (rename file to recovery.img)
Then go here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317536
Setup adb & fastboot
Once uv setup everything, put recovery.img in the fastboot folder then boot ur phone into fastboot mode (turn off phone then press n hold volume down + power then select fastboot) connect to pc and now shoud say fastboot usb. Now open command window from fastboot folder (shift right click, open cmd window here) then type
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
U now should have non touch recovery
If im honest, if ur digitizer is broke then a full wipe and fresh flash of rom wont make a difference, but u can try.
You can try this thread aswell for some other fixes
[FIX] [UPDATED] Touchscreen issues
These fixes didnt work for me, i actually put a small piece of rubber on mine and worked perfect. see pic

Thank you for your reply, your instructions about installing CWM Recovery were incredibly straight forward and made the process of re-flashing my ROM very easy. Unfortunately, re-flashing my ROM didn't help (wasn't expecting it to, in all honesty) so it looks like I will have to replace the digitizer Hopefully this relatively cheap fix will solve the problem. The thanks button has been pressed

Yh didnt think it would either. Did u try the last link to touchscreen fix? Theres a couple of things there u can try, also the pic i posted, u could try that too. It fixed my touch screen problem. Anyway i know off ebay u can get a digitizer for no more than 20 euro, i baught one off there for my desire s for 10 euro and its perfect, they fairly easy to change urself. I did my own with no problems, just make sure the seller gives 3m double sided tape with it so u can stick the digitizer to the lcd.

Yeah I tried the things in the link and what you suggested in your picture but nothing worked. I pulled my phone apart and I'm going to pick up a new digitizer (and tape) tomorrow. Hopefully that'll sort everything.
Matt

I replaced my digitizer with no problems. Or so I thought. My phone does not turn on! Battery indicator shows that the battery is recharged, so this is not the issue. Everything seems to be plugged/clipped into place. Could I have placed tape (3m sticker) over something important without realising it?
Any ideas?
Matt

What happens when the phone is off then u press power button? Does it vibrate as if it turns on?
Take off the back battery cover n try turn it on without the cover, if nothing then i suppose ul have to take it apart again and check if everything is connected

+1.
How are you going with this? Does it vibrate, does it not make HTC boot music? I'm wondering if the screen is hooked up properly.

[Q] Dead Inspire 4G

I was on a call and when I hung up, wanted to unlock.
Push the power button, lights on the 4 bottom buttons come on. Screen stays black, no backlight.
Push the button again, lights go off.
Push again, lights come on, no screen.
etc, etc...
I pulled the battery, and put it back in.
Now it's just sitting here saying HTC, but it doesn't get to the "quietly brilliant" ever. It just sits there forever saying HTC.
The phone is hacked, rooted, ENG S-OFF, was running Android Revolution 4G 5.1.6 or something when this all happened.
I can get into the [vol-] + [power] menu (white BG) and to recovery (black BG), but I'm not sure how to transfer files to the SD card to load a new ROM on without Android.
Can I use ADB to push a file across? If so, how?
Is there anything I should try before I wipe my phone? I'd like to back up my apps and SMSs if possible, but won't break down in tears if I can't.
Edit: I don't really know very much about ADB/Fastboot, but when I type ADB Devices the phone doesn't show up, however if I go into "Fastboot" in the white screen, I can type Fastboot Devices and my phone is listed. I suspect I can somehow push across the Android Revolution 4G ROM zip file and wipe/install it from recovery? I'm not sure how though.
WHile the phone is completely off, press and hold the Volume (down) and the Power off/on button (press the volume down first if that makes it easier ,then the power button).
Then you should get to the Hboot screen (white back), in there you should have the option to go to recovery...
As long as you can get to recovery ,your perfectly safe (even if just the hboot page)...In here you can reinstall a new ROM.
You can do so by going to mounts and storage , and choose mount usb storage (or something; make sure your connected to the PC with the USB)..
Your phone should now be connected to your pc Via your SD card..
Just download a new ROM, and then put it somewhere in your SDcard and after that, choose install zip from SDcard and select the ROM file you just transfered.
ANd unfortunately but, if you cant get passed recovery..I believe there would be no way to back up any phone/internal data .
If he wanted to back up some data as long as he has AR 5.1.6 still he should be able to reflash the rom w/o a full wipe to try and get the phone to boot so he can back up.
Some times it works sometimes it doesn't.
Just boot into hboot , then from there get to recovery. Once in recovery, you should now be able to use adb (if fastboot is working, it should see the phone in recovery).
Now put the rom in the platform tools folder(or whereever your tools/adb is (not sure if your using Linux or windows but this should work with either. Now open a terminal to platform-tools(or like earlier, whereever adb and now the rom are) now -
adb push nameofrom.zip /sdcard
nameofrom.zip has to be exactly what the name of the rom is you put in the location that has adb in it.
It will take a few min. to push the whole rom, when its done flash it.
This is all assuming you don't have adb in your enviorn . path- it can be done a little differently if you have it in your path in windows or Linux, but this way will work either way.
Or use fastboot to flash a new system.img, but you'll have to find one or make one- don't know where.
Di11's method is fine, but pardon me if im mistaken, can't he, since he's able to boot into recovery, plug his cord in>mount usb storage>transfer rom to sdcard>unmount>and wipe data/cache/dalvik/flash rom? it would seem easiest
Ya, sometimes I've noticed in the past when ****s all muffed up it wont wanna mount as USB storage. (Dont know why but it happens)This works every time.

Never had a problem like that, least that i know of lol, my baffled mind forgets to put the rom on my phone since i flash your rom and sense rom's daily, so i always just mount while in recovery after wiping everything.. Anyways, OP report which method you used and how it works.

[Q] Touchscreen not touching

Hey was looking for a little help or guidance.
The touchscreen on my HTC Sensation 4g stopped working. Everything else works, volume rockers, power button. Even on the home screen it shows the volume increase/decrease but none of the apps are touchable and the lockscreen won't unlock either.
I used to be on Cyanogen Alpha8 when this happened before. I flashed to alpha9 and it fixed the issue. This time nothing is helping. I wiped the phone a couple times now, including wiping the sd card even and have deleted/installed Cyanogen 7.1 alpha10 and Android Revolution HD a couple of time seeing if that could fix the issue. Apparently it's not the rom as neither worked.
Recovery and everything works fine, but even when I did a backup restore it didn't fix the issue. Is this hardware?
TLDR- Touchscreen and lower 4 android buttons do not respond. Physical buttons all still respond.
Is there some screen lock key that I enabled and don't even know about or something?
First it happened when phone was 10 days old, now it happened again 10 days later.
Thank you for any help.
If you remove your cover, you can se a "polished" square on the right side. Make sure that it has good contact with the small metal "plate" on the right side of your phone. It's the touch ground, and I've seen people resolve their issues by checking that.
There is a thread about this, I can't find it now though. Using my mobile. Search for "sensation touchscreen issues" or something like that.
Sent from my Sensation using xda premium
Yeah I've tried extracting it a bit to get better contact. It's not that the touchscreen stutters in working, it doesn't work at all. When I'm on the lockscreen and pull the ring on Android HD rom it doesn't budge even the slightest. No notion that it is recognizing any kind of touch input. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll post back if it fixes the issue somehow later but currently contacting that small little square better hasn't helped.
I've read up on a few touchscreen issues like that but couldn't find anything so thought to post on here. Thanks again for the tip but touchscreen still not working.

Try doing the procedure from my sig. I'd suggest to discharge first, leave overnight with no battery, and charge with no touching... It's all in that thread.
But... I still haven’t heard of a case when the screen didn't work AT ALL. Perhaps your issue is a bit more drastic and can’t be fixed so easily :\
Tried it. Didn't work. Put in foil as well, that also didn't work.
Thank you for the suggestion though.
Touchscreen still does not function AT ALL, with or without the back cover on so it's not the usual grounding pin issue I think. Could a cable pop out somewhere inside the phone to disconnect touch feedback without disabling the actual screen? Anyone have any hypotheses?
I would like to exhaust all methods before cracking open the phone and voiding the little warranty seal just in case.
Very annoyed at this phone/htc. Thank you for all the help on here guys and gals.
If you already tried clearing all the cashes, flashing several roms and different kernels, than it's hardware. Take it to a service center... :/
same problem
hey, any luck on solving your problem? i have precisely the same problem with my htc sensation as well. was working perfectly but now it wouldnt respond to any thing at all. it wouldnt even let me use ruu to restore it back to the original firmware. i really dont want to crack it open. i have ordered a new battery touse to test it. will kep you posted. did you manage to solve yours?
fix for none working screen
Hi there " dude that started this thread V*****"
i have managed to fix my screen issue. it involves having to take the phone apart VERY CAREFULLY. The flex behind the screen sometimes comes loose. all you need do is just fit it back in. You have to be careful though as there is a possibility you might damage the phone. oh, doing this will VOID your warranty. look on youtube for how to take the phone apart. i just bought another one on eBay and am going to fix it. best of luck and let me know how you get on.

So I have this issue as well. Can you tell me what exactly you did to fix it? What flex came loose? And what did you buy on Ebay to fix?
Thanks
I did this last night and managed to fix the touch screen. The flex is located on the underside of the top PCB, the one that has the little chip on the cable. Mine looked ok but I pushed it in gently and did a quick test just by booting the phone before putting it all back together.
If your screen looks fine but doesn't respond to touch at all then I suspect this is also your problem. Worked for me

I know this thread has been inactive for a while but just thought I'd mention I just had this problem of dead touchscreen and fixed it simple by squeezing my phone! I took the battery out and pressed all over in the hope of pushing in any loose cable and it is perfectly back to normal just thought I'd mention this to save any potential future sufferers from taking their phone to pieces!

I have had this issue twice! I have a Motorola droid 4, and the touchscreen simply goes dead. First time it happened, I had just hung up with Verizon Customer Service. I fixed it by changing the slider/touchscreen assembly off of a different D4. Now it's happened to that assembly too. I"m starting to think it's a software issue. I will try this fix however. Dry heat was suggested as a fix on a different forum. Hope this helps someone.
The only working solution i find that works perfectly for touchscreen problems
I have tried every single solution for touchscreen issues on this site. I have found one that is basically guaranteed to work here it is:
INSTRUCTIONS: (YOUR PHONE WILL NEED TO BE ALREADY S-OFF AND UNLOCKED FOR THIS TO WORK WHICH YOU CAN DO THEN RETURN TO THIS TUTORIAL)
YOU WILL NEED TO DOWNLOAD THEESE 2 FILES
Recalibration tool - http://www.mediafire.com/?akul70qy128lo3u
Revolutionary hboot - http://www.mediafire.com/?1ed2y87pld66638
1. Take the NBH file from the provided link, and place it on root of your SD Card.
2. Boot into bootloader, by turning off your phone and then while its off hold the volume down button and then hold down the power button until the bootloader comes on then release bot of the buttons.
3. Once you’ve booted into the bootloader wait a second and you will notice that it searches for and finds the nbh file that you put on your sd card, It will then proceed to flash it. Some instructions will appear on the screen very quickly for about 2 seconds asking you to hold the phone horizontally while it calibrates it. Do this quickly and follow the rest of the instructions.
4. You will now see a screen appear giving you 2 options. Run the first option by selecting using the volume button if its not already selected and press power to run the process then run the second one once it is complete. Then simply remove the battery from your phone to turn it off.
5. Once again using the button combination, boot into the bootloader and select recovery. Once recovery boots into clockwork mod, do a factory reset and wipe data as well as the dalvik cache. Then reboot your phone.
Your touchscreen should now be calibrated and working perfectly.
Do not forget to delete the nbh file from your sd card once you’re done so it does not auto flash next time you go into your bootloader.
IMPORTANT!!!!!
If the process of flashing the nbh file does not work and gives you an error like this
“Security fail! Update fail! Press <POWER> to reboot.”
This is because the firmware is not the right one needed to flash the file and this can be corrected by flashing the Revolutionary hboot v 1.27.0000 following these instructions:
1. First make sure that you deleted the nbh file from the sd card root.
2. Place the file named “PG58IMG.zip” at the root of your sd card.
3. Power off your phone and use the button combination to boot into the bootloader.
4. The file will be detected and automatically start to flash, follow any onscreen instructions if necessary until this process completes.
5. Once this completes your phone should boot so that you can delete the zip file from your sd. If the phone is taking too long to boot you will need to remove the battery then the sd card. VERY IMPORTANT “With the sd card out of the phone” you will need to boot into the bootloader once more and enter recovery and factory reset the phone as well as wipe the data and dalvic cache.
6. Now the phone should be powered down and the turned back on. After the phone is finished booting up you should then replace the sd card and use whatever file explorer you have to delete the zip file from the root of the folder so that it does not autoboot the next time you enter the bootloader.(or you can do this whole step by deleting the zip file using a card reader and your computer)
7. You have now successfully flashed the correct firmware/hboot which is the revolutionary hboot required for the recalibration tool to work. Now you can try to reflash the calibration tool following the instructions at the very top of this tutorial again with the nbh file and it should work since I had to go through all this for mine to work and now my phone touchscreen work like a charm and is in perfect working order.
8. Thanks. I do not take credit for this fix, I have simply made a detailed explanation of how to get it to work as intended by this user on XDA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2437293

I should have mentioned that this method only works on the HTC bootloader as it is very different from other bootloaders.

[Q] strange Rom flashing problem

Hi there, phone screen remains black and no visuals after flashing rom, so I canrt see anything on screen or know what to do about it, pls help?
Details -
After flashing ROM from SD card via which seem to go well... ONLY that the screen is blanked out, no lights except the key lights, phone comes on, responds to touch by giving normal sounds like when I use flick the scroll lock and touch the screen etc (just because I know how the phone works) but problem remains that I cant see anything, so I cant even boot into recovery or download mode to flash again since its all black and dimly lit.
I have a B63M running Gingerbread 2.3.5 so I am not sure what model of HTC it falls under in case this question or similar has been asked already.
I was able to initially get into flash recovery using the mobile uncle tool which allowed me get into recovery, something that has been impossible using the stock recovery in b63m.
I backed up the ROM , cleared cache and daikvil cache then went on to flash ROM using an update.zip and then the touble I explained above.
This is a current situation pls I need help getting back up and flashing the right lattest rom for my phone?
Help me pls

Thanks for your response, yes I have gone the adb route and I was able to see my device in adb but once I say adb reboot recovery or adb reboot download, it restarts and reboots but again I cant see the screen so I have no idea what to do next or what really is happening on screen.
Maybe if you know how to proceed once in adb, you can share with me, this is frustrating me?

My G2x seems to be dead

I'm here, requesting help, i've read (i think) almost everything. Try everything and i'm not able to recover my G2x.
I'm from mexico, and my english it's no so good, i hope that everyone can understand what i'm trying to say U_U
I brought a used T-Mobile G2x from ebay. I was SOOO happy with the phone, a good one, a kickass and it was about $250 dlls for me. I think that was a good deal. The phone was on a average/good condition.
So, i rooted it, then after, moved the rom from stock to CM7 stable.
I changed then to eaglesblood ICS, then another eaglesblood, and then again CM7.
The phone was working very good. Then, a issue appeared.
Some day, the phone was a little slow, then i rebooted it. And then started the pain...
The screen showed the LG Logo, white brilliant. And after a seconds, power off. What!?
I tried to power on again. Nothing. I did the battery pull and then worked fine. I thought that was a simple bug or something.
Later, the phone ran out of energy. I pluged on the wall charger but nothing happened. I left it for an hour and tried to turn it on. Nothing...
Then charged the battery with a multicharger and the same problem. LG Logo, nothing. Checked on the CWM Recovery and did a cleanup of battery stats, nothing. I was desperate, so i've flashed my phone with Eaglesblood again. Vuala, the phone worked... 'till froze and i had to pull the battery... Again, LG Logo... nothing.
The phone boot up by himself after leaving it for an hour or more. But i had another problem... Battery at 999% Or battery stuck at 32% and suddenly dies...
I've checked with the battery app and saw that the battery said 0 mV
I have 2 batteries, and the both with the same problem. One LG, one chinese.
So, i went with a friend of mine, i took borrowed a battery of his LGO3D, and... nothing
The phone works with APX, powers on on the recovery, i even sometimes reads ok the battery and the phone comes alive, 'till i have to reboot it because the phone is so slow after 2 or 3 weeks without a reboot... but it's so rare and random...
I even updated the phone with the 21y baseband and the new stock rom, but keeps doing the same thing...
I'm just at the point that i want to throw the phone to the wall...
There are something that i can do?
Change some piece?
I must say that when the phone read the battery and it's ok, i can charge it normally, works perfectly, usb ok, everything it's like nothing was bad. But the problem is if the phone shut's down...
Get adb working with USB and if using a windows pc open Command Prompt and run
HTML:
adb devices
....Make sure your device is found, an ID number will appear if successful....
HTML:
adb reboot
....Let the phone start rebooting. When "adb devices" works and shows the phone ID again proceed...
HTML:
adb shell
$ su
# dmesg > /sdcard/dmesg.txt
# logcat -v time -d > /sdcard/logcat.txt
# exit
$ exit
adb pull /sdcard/logcat.txt %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\logcat.txt
adb pull /sdcard/dmesg.txt %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\dmesg.txt
exit
If you get a complaint with those last 2 commands; change %USERPROFILE% = whatever your username is where your Desktop is located. (i.e. C:\Users\me\Desktop\dmesg.txt)
Then either email them to me or post them on www.pastebin.com and post links to both files.
I'm a little lost...
First of All! Thanks for the help
And i dont know... The phone must be ON to do that?
The phone right now doesn't power on, just the LG Logo, at this point, when i attach to a computer via USB Cable, the computer doesn't detect anything...
I can enter the CWM Recovery, it's enough??
And a funny thing: The phone NEVER powers ON (Not even the LG LOGO) when usb or charger it's connected.
EDIT:
Good news, i've got adb working, but i don't have su, i'm downloading it thanks
EDIT AGAIN
The last time that i've flashed to stock rom the g2x forgot to root the phone
i've already tried with adb commands, but i got errors when i try...
I guess that i need usb debugging On, and i doesn't have it...
I'm on a dead end??
Go to the ROM for recovery thread in development section, follow it step by step and your phone will be 100% alive and kicking on GB 2.3.4.

If I recall you were the one who emailed me and I sent you links to NVFlash correct? Did that work for you? I'm just trying to see what your question really is. It sounded from you OP that the hardware perhaps keeps failing and no matter which ROM you flash, you eventually get stuck in bootloop like you are now. Are you just trying to get out of bootloop or is this a reocurring problem? If your stuck in bootloop then your only solution is to NVFlash a recovery and push a rom. If its reocurring then we gotta figure out why... thats where my instructions come in. So you need to tell us exactly what you're trying to do.
As for adb yes you can adb from recovery. You gotta go to Mounts and storage > Mount /system though or else the device wont show.

Ok... my first problem: Language. I don't have problem with the reading, but writing... i'll try to put my words on the right place
I don't remember, when i first flashed my G2x i did it with the Rom Manager App... the result came on a bootloop. Then i used NVFlash and flashed a correct ClockworkMod Recovery. Installed CM7 and everything was fine. Then i wanted to try ICS and flashed it again. No problem. I normally follow the guides step by step, and the phone was right. Then, one day the phone froze and was the first time that i had the bootloop with the LG Bright Logo, then dim, and then power off.
The problem not was while i was flashing a rom. Because while i was on the problem, i flashed with NVFlash the original bootloader and then restore the original firmware, and the problem still there. Right now the phone has the stock rom, updated by the LG utility, and the problem persists.
I think that is what you say. The phone doesn't pass the LG Logo screen no matter which rom i flash... What i don't understand is that the phone seems to be ok. When it powers (a week ago) it worked just fine...
I don't think that is a bootloop caused by a bad flashing... i think that is a recurring problem...
I have this 2 folders with tools for the NVFlash, i think that the both of them are right...
One-Click-G2x-recovery-flasher-04-28-12 [Folder]
One-Click-G2x-recovery-flasher-09-23 [Folder]
They have the APX drivers and NVFlash and the One-click-G2xr-recovery-flasher app...
I'll mount the /system in recovery and i will try to get that log. With the /system mounted then i think that i can root the phone...
I'm gonna try... let's see what happen...
Thanks
EDIT: I noticed (when the problem first came) that the sticker of water damage was ripped off... is not there... But i don't know if the phone was really damaged by water, because i'm not the first owner... The phone was working fine for about 6 months and now it's just like i'm explaining...

Ok, I bet your partition tables are messed up. If you can get that dmesg and logcat file it would be ideal but if you cant then we just gotta move forward.
First copy all your stuff from SDcard and internal memory into a folder on a PC. Make a backup using clockwork or whatever and also copy that onto a PC just to be safe.
Then you need to search the G2x forum for this batch utility called something like "auto-formatter partition repair tool" or something similar. If you cant find it message me.
Youll want to run that first, its going to completely wipe all of your stuff and reformat the blocks sizes. Once done youll need to NVFlash a CWM recovery again. Then push a ROM over to the phone and install with CWM. (Dont push a stock rom or anything Gingerbread. Ideally push EaglesBlood ICS since I know it works and can help you troubleshoot.
So i would do that first because i bet your upgrade when u said you attempted to install ICS corrupted the file system, which can happen if you dont format /system prior.
Get the utility, backup everything , format the partitions, NVflash CWM recovery, push ICS rom, install, install GAPPS, come back here and tell me it worked

It's a shame that i cannot get that logcat... :/
Well... i have nothing to lose (data, or something), so i searched over the forums and i found this utility:
Code:
[URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1590523"]http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1590523[/URL]
I think thats the right one, or at least, one of many...
That utility flashes a CWM Touch, then, i installed Eaglesblood Gingerbread (because the utility said that if i don't, the sdcard will not be recognized) and the gaaps...
Turned off the phone...
Turned On...
But then again, i have the LG logo bright, then dim, then power off :/
Do you think that could be a charger flex problem? Motherboard? I should burn it?? :/
Use the batch cleanup tool, then flash stock rooted ROM. That way you cab make sure something works, and stock is going to be the safest flash. If that works, then you can go on to custom Roms

Yes thats the utility, and the post above by "rtotheichie" is correct too.
You cant flash a Gingerbread ROM. You need to either push a stock/rooted build, or an ICS build. It's that gingerbread -to- ICS thats causing the partition problem (if it even is that). So what you're doing is fixing it then messing it up again.
--> There could be any number of things going on and we can guess at anything but what good is that gonna do? ... You NEED to get that #dmesg log. I would focus on doing whatever you can to get ADB working because thats going to tell us exactly what is failing at boot time. Can you get into Recovery? I wouldn't even worry about starting the ROM, you should focus on getting into Recovery first. If you cant get into Recovery then you didn't flash it correctly with NVFlash. If you can get in, then go to Mounts & Storage > mount /system ...then get that ADB going using my 1st post above. Thats your only hope if you cant get it on your own.

No problem.
Well if you can get into recovery and if you have ADB and the drivers for the phone setup on your PC you should have no problems connecting. Try using a Windows PC if you can, it's funny but ADB is probably the only thing that is easier to get going the 1st time in Windows rather than Linux (Ubuntu).
Just keep trying and run
HTML:
$ adb devices
each time until a device ID shows up.
I've noticed you've posted this same question on like every single Android website that exists; but I'm telling you what the correct answer is and the only way you're going to be able to figure out what is going on is to get to a log file. No one has a magic trick that will automagically fix this from afar. Anything else is just guessing and checking.
In recovery, try going to Advanced > Show log ...what does that say? Also it won't hurt to try going to Advanced > Fix permissions. I doubt that will do anything for you but it won't hurt to try at this point.

I'll try that, today
And i know that aint no magic trick that fix my phone... I'll try everything to resolve the problem.
Thanks...
And another thing. I've checked my PM's, and saw that i've never send a PM to you. And no, i'm not flooding the entire www with my question. But i think that i should have used a diferent question to describe my problem. This is the first time that i ask for help, after reading and reading on the web, and almost everyone says: "send it back to t-mobile", but that's not an option for me. And my first choice (and olny) for asking help of course it's xda.
I remember that once clicked "show log" and an error pop out, but i didn't try the fix permissions options.
This is the video. Sorry for my bad english.

I saw the video.
Take out the battery > then put it back in.
Press and hold BOTH the [Power] and [Volume Down-] at the same time and keep holding them.
Keep them both pressed while the "LG logo" appears; shortly after you should see the white logo change to a BLUE logo... once you see that you can let go.
Does that work and get you into Recovery? ...let me know.
One other thing to try...
Plug your USB cable into the Computer ONLY ---Not the phone.
Take out the battery, do NOT put it back in.
Now (with the battery still removed), Press and Hold [Volume Up+] and [Volume Down-] together. Do not press the Power button.
While still holding both Volume buttons together, insert the USB cable into the phone.
Now wait a second or two, does the phone Power On into a "Download mode screen"?
If not, let go of the Volume buttons and unplug the USB from the phone.
Now plug the USB back into the phone. Press and hold the [POWER] Button for several seconds (still with NO battery in, just the USB).
Does that turn the phone on?

I'm currently downloading the service manual and the user manual.
Ok, i tried the first thing. The phone gets on recovery mode. All good.
On the second thing to try:
-I followed the steps just as you said: vol+ and vol- and connect usb cable. It makes a sound of connected device, checked and windows detects a NVIDIA USB Boot-recovery driver for Mobile devices, but the phone screen never powers up or show a download mode screen. When i flash anything with NVFlash it shows the Download mode screen...
-I plugged the phone without battery, and pushed the power button. The phone does not power on. Not even the LG logo or anything.
I'm still trying to get that logcat. But everytime that i want to type "su" on the adb shell says that cannot found su...
Now i'm on recovery.

Sorry, i didn't get the mail of new post...
Yeah, it's still dead...
Today, i put the battery on the phone and it started right away. Battery status ok, everything working fine. But i didn't put a sim card, so i turned off the phone and it's dead again.
I don't know if i'm getting a GOOD partition formatter. But i've already used one... and the result it's the same...
And even tried a crazy method of one guy that put the phone on the fridge for 10 mins and then NVFlashed-it to a stock gb...
And nothing U_U
Power up, show a bright LG logo, then a less bright one... power off...
Thanks for your help...
EDIT:
Today i opened the phone, extracted the logic board and watched everything. A VERY SMALL bga chip (i don´t know wich) had a little crack on it, i cleaned with a soft brush and a little piece came off... Now the phone doesn't boot at all, not even the LG logo... i think that's the end...
If someone can indicate me where i can buy a new mainboard it would be very appreciated. Thanks.

Find a person selling a great phone but like the screen is broken or something. Look at the repair manual i posted previously above.

[Q] Touch screen

Ok here it is in short bullet points to make a short story
tf300t rooted
rom hydro 4.1
Screen got broke
wife bought the wrong one .69.104 something like that about 40 bucks
wife bought the right one 59 or something like that about 90 bucks
I installed it
now 99% of the time the screen is not working at most i can get the task bar(I guess its called) at the bottom to work. So 1% of the time i can get the back, home, i will call it recent active, and the stuff over on the right by the clock but say i do get in to setting i then have to use my keyboard after that. I was thinking about factory resetting but i can not even seem do to that it just sits at the asus screen with the text in the top left saying my device is unlocked.
I am so lost in whats going on. any help would be great. at this point if someone could help me I will donate to them, a project of their choice and of course the site XDA.
Since you are running a custom ROM I expect you to have an unlocked bootloader? OK you can try reflashing the stock firmware follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39272826
I know it is for downgrading but you can reflash with this method as well also make sure you flash the right things and this WILL WIPE EVERYTHING
Sent from my TF300T using xda app-developers app
OK thank you I will try that right now thank you very much.
So I got all the files and stuff i remembered doing this to root my table back a few years ago. But I am getting hung up on while trying to select the USB icon. When I volume down and power it boots the the pre-loader screen i guess its called. But I can not select anything or try and move the selector it freezes. It i get to the pre-loader screen and wait the 10 seconds the tablet will then just boot up normally. Have any Ideas ?
says "booting recovery kernel image"
Update

So I got all the files and stuff i remembered doing this to root my table back a few years ago. But I am getting hung up on while trying to select the USB icon. When I volume down and power it boots the the pre-loader screen i guess its called. But I can not select anything or try and move the selector it freezes. It i get to the pre-loader screen and wait the 10 seconds the tablet will then just boot up normally. Have any Ideas ?
says "booting recovery kernel image"

this means you are on 4.1? it's normal the bootloader freezes when selecting usb icon then you need to flash the firmware
Your issue might be as simple as reflashing the touch pcb with the proper firmware as it also calibrates it. Since you are running a custom rom, all you need to do is download a terminal emulator. You dont need to use a computer at all. I'll walk you through it if you need. I originally had the 5158n. Flashed the touch board with g01 firmware, installed the new digitizer (g01)and it had the same symptoms as you described. I then reflashed with the digitizer connected and viola..... new g01 screen was working perfectly! 5158n was like 100 usd. G01 was only 44 shipped. Big difference!
If you need help, just pm me here and ill give you my gtalk.

Is it still booting into the rom though? What bootloader / recovery are you using ( or which ones were you trying to flash ). Do you have a dock with keyboard / touchpad?
Also, what do you see when you enter the bootloader. Which icons? Depending on the bootloader, you may already be in fastboot mode as soon as it opens the bootloader menu.
Also fyi, you use the volume buttons for navigating through the options. Not keyboard / touch screen.
Volume down toggles the options, volume up selects and enters the mode you chose.
BEFORE flashing a rom though ( provided you are still booting to a rooted OS ), try forcing the new firmware to the touch pcb board.

This is going to sound dumb Not sure of the name of the bootloader I have 4 icons RCK, android, usb, wipe data.
I do have a dock and table works fine besides that error i get in the settings some times dcm something or dmc something it pops up and gos away pretty quick.
I can also get into TWRP 2.6.6.6
So yeah the system it fine right now its just the touch screen that I am missing.

What version is your touch screen? Also, did you make sure to flip off the little service switch and pull the battery connector before disconnecting the bad digitizer? If not, you probably fried the coil ( small fuse ) on the motherboard.

fuse damn no did not see or read anything about it when researching how to replace the screen. hmm I am stumped this is getting to be a nightmare. Weird thing happened again last night the touch screen started working again almost the full screen only thing I was not able to click on was the app draw thing in the top right corner but then it stopped about about 30 seconds. In worst case is there a place I can mail/take my tablet to?

No..... its specifically the touchpanel firmware. Flashing new firmware not only writes the drivers for the touch panel, but it also calibrates things in the process. What ROM / Recovery / Bootloader do you have right now? Are you rooted? Also, I asked you before.... what model screen did you order? ( G01 , G03 , 5158N, Etc ) I need to know this so I can help you get the right firmware for your panel.

I uploaded the factory firmware to my dropbox for you.
This is the G01 firmware - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/37729675/02-3011-4820.ekt
This is the 5158N Firmware https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/37729675/04-3021-7053.ekt
Go to settings, about , and tap the touch panel version about 10 times very fast. It should open up a special firmware window and ask you what file you want to flash. Navigate to where ever you saved the file to and select it. If it works, do not touch anything until its finished. Its trying to calibrate things and touching the screen will mess it up.
You can change from the broken 5158N to a G01 this way as well. Its MUCH cheaper ( And what I did with success ). 5158N = $100 USD. I only paid $43 USD for the G01 and had zero problems with it.
If you cant get to the update firmware screen, you can also try tapping the camera version about 10 times very fast as well.
Lastly, the easiest way is to root the tablet. Then download a terminal app. gain root ( type su in the box, hit enter, and press allow root permissions when it pops up ). After your terminal window has root, type this command without quote "touch_fw_update -u /location/of/your/file/here.ekt" . I flashed the firmware right from my etc/firmware directory, and I flashed the G01 firmware. My command looked like this "touch_fw_update -u /system/etc/firmware/touch/02-3011-4820.ekt"
DO NOT touch anything until its done doing its thing. It calibrates things and pressing the screen will mess it up. It takes about 3 minutes to complete.
If everything flashes correctly, and you still have no touch input, you might have fried the coil on the mainboard. If that's the case, you will need to break out a soldering iron and bridge it.
PS
If Ive helped, don't forget to hit thanks
Edit:
I saw that there is another firmware for the 5158n than I have posted. The other reference is to a 4822, but Im not seeing that anywhere. Hopefully the 7038 works for you though.

That it says 4822 doesn't mean it'd work out of the box. Even if you have the correct firmware, you'd need to reflash it every time you replace the digitizer. Once in a while it would update the firmware on its own, but most of the time you'd need to do it. Good luck.

Absolutely. I know Joker66599's screen shows it having 4022 firmware, but from what I read, the 5158N also uses the 7038 firmware. Not sure which is newer though. I checked in the factory firmware folder and didnt see 4022 in there.
Weird I can not find the file .ekt when in the camera firmware screen. I can not go in using the touch panel selection. Even it I select the directory the file is in I get an error. I have the file you provided in several places just to try for ****s and giggle (root, sdcard/thechive, and sdcard/boat browser/downloads). I will post that error message in a bit.
