I have AT&T on my GN2 and have Caller ID blocking per line activated on my account.
When I was with Sprint I could have this feature on my phone and it would allow me to block my Google Voice number with this feature on my account and unblock it with *82.
When I make outbound calls with this feature on through Google Voice, it always blocks the number no matter what.
How can I remedy this?

I have recently been upgraded to Google Voice, and was wondering if there was a way I could basically "spoof" all outgoing caller IDs so it appeared as my Google Voice number. The reason for doing this is if I switch to Google Voice, my calls will still show as coming from my old number.
If this isnt possible, anyone have any other ways around this?
EDIT: I should note... I do have a PPC6800/HTC MOGUL, so I have access to all the EPST settings and whatnot.

You can but you have to call your google voice number to initiate the outgoing call instead of dialing out directly.
I have a samsung vibrant without a data plan. I use wi-fi for internet.
I want to use only my google voice number with the phone. I want my callerid to be my google voice number, always.
When I have wi-fi, I use the google voice app and my call is through google voice, the other side sees my google voice number. (Not entirely through wi-fi, I use my voice minutes).
Is there a way to make my callerid my google voice number when I am making a regular call (without data)?
Calling with Google Voice does not use your data plan, it uses your regular minutes. In Google Voice Settings under Making Calls you can set "Use Google Voice to make all calls." Now your caller ID will always show your Google Voice number. Sending SMS from Google Voice does use your data plan and should not count as an SMS through your carrier.
Ahhhhhh! Someone please help me. My Google voice isn't acting right. I've used Google voice a lot for my voicemail only. That's what I always did, I never ran into issues. Now all my text messages, incoming calls are coming through Google voice. I don't understand. I just want to use it for my voice mail. Like usual. I even went on the Google voice settings web page. I can't figure out how to disable my text messages from coming through gvoice. Can anyone help me? Thanks
I could only see this happening if people were calling and texting your Google Voice number (you can find this in GV settings on your phone) instead of your actual phone number (the one given to you by your carrier). Google voice, I believe, is unable to intercept text messages not routed to your GV number.

I'd try Groove (a free or paid app). Uses voip, so you need data. The free version uses WiFi, while the paid version can use 3G. Also, you need a Google voice number for this to work.
I use a sip account thru pbxes.org linked to a us number thru ipkall.com along with sipdroid, voice+ and google voice. Totaly free incomimg and outgoing us calls thru your google voice number. I know it sounds complicated, and kind of is but its worth it in the end.
Once setup when you dial a number voice plus catches the call and asks whether to use regular phone or a "callback" from google voice. So you select callback which sends the info thru the net to google voice who then calls your free sip number. You answer and are automaticly connected to the number you dialed for free. Then on the google voice settings page you have your gv number forwarded to your free sip number and all incoming calls are free.
On a side note stock roms and probably most custom roms do not allow sip over 3g by default. You must edit the framework-res.apk file to allow it.
I've had the same number for over a decade on 3 different providers. Several years ago I ported that number to Sprint and ever since the Google Voice and Sprint integration option was available, I've been using it. I really like all of the features such as being able to send texts on the Google Voice website from my "primary" number and when people call my "primary" number it not only rang to my phone but it would also pop up as an incoming call on Gmail, etc. I just switched to T-mobile today and ported my number over to them after cancelling the Sprint/GV integration. I didn't think this all the way through before doing so unfortunately.. Now I have a plan and a phone that I really like but I'm basically stuck with Google Voice Lite which leaves a lot to be desired since I liked ALL of the features of Google Voice I used to have and not just the voicemail forwarding feature....
I'm assuming that it is possible to get all these features back by doing the following:
- add a second line to my T-mobile with a new/different number and put that SIM card in my new phone
- port my old "primary" number that I just brought over to T-mobile to Google Voice for $20
- Set up google voice to forward all calls and text message going to my old "primary" number to my new T-mobile number
The only question I have is whether after doing this, is there a way to make the functionality EXACTLY the same as when I was on Sprint with my Sprint/GV number integrated? I.e. When someone calls me on the number I ported to GV# it rings to my computer if I'm sitting in front of my Gmail as well as my phone... all text messages to my GV# will go to my phone and can be read/replied to on the google voice website the same as it used to, etc. My understanding was that the GV/Sprint integration was just an agreement that the two companies had where Sprint "owned" the number but it could also be used as the GV number through some carrier-specific forwarding agreement that they had. I'd like to know if I do the above-mentioned steps would I get the same result or is there some drawbacks to having a different carrier with a different number and now GV "owns" the number and is just forwarding the data in a similar fashion? The main drawback I foresee would be that if i make a call or send a text message from my phone it would show up as the new T-mobile number instead of the GV# and people wouldn't know who it is until everyone in my contacts list got used to it. I think this could be avoided by using Google Hangouts or something as my primary dialer and text messaging app but then I'd be using up my data for VoIP and MMS messages which would otherwise be free on my T-mobile number. Anyone been in a similar situation and have some info/advice? Thanks
