I have only 1 question, can I get back all my data??? I had vcf files, TB data and sms data I will throw my phone away How can I make such a big mistake. I made efs backup but it doesn't exist too. Completly Wiping the phone

Hey,
I'm selling my phone to some random guy and I'm wondering whats the best way to wipe the phone? I dont really care about the apps , but i care that all the data is erased (passwords, wifi passwords, notes, texts, pictures). All the stuff that I need to keep has already been backed up onto my desktop so now its just a matter of finding the best way to delete everything on the phone, WITHOUT IT BEING ABLE TO GET RESTORED (I.E THROUGH TITANIUM).
What would be the best way to do this?
Thanks.
Factory reset
in recovery:
to wipe your internal memory (which should wipe your settings, passwords, etc), wipe data/factory reset.
to wipe the sdcard (which holds your notes, pictures, etc), you can format it (if you are using clockworkmod, there is an option under "mounts and storage" that allows you to format the sdcard. if you are using another recovery such as amonra, i am not exactly sure if there is such an option; if there isnt an option for this, you can just partition your sdcard into two partitions, and repartition back to one partition).
I remember there were apps that Did zero formatting (I think that's what it was called) for the old Palm Treos.
You might want to do some search. I'm sure someone has thought of it already.

[Q] factory reset performed, data still here

hi,
I had so much stuff on the tablet I decided to reinstall rom...
performed factory reset, wiped cache partition, & installed ics rom again and to my surprise all my data was there.
what else needs to be whiped to delete all wanted and unwanted data?
thanks
You can delete all the stuff from /data/media - its mounted as sdcard - its the content that you see when you are connected via usb. Dont worry, all directories will be created new when you flash the rom again. You can also format the system partition in recovery. Put the rom to your empty data/media directory before you do this and install with choose from zip...

[Q] Data Wipe Question

I'm wanting to install a custom ROM and I've read when you do so you will need to do a factory wipe before hand. I did a full backup using CWM Touch and it saved to my internal memory card, not external. I also backed up my IMEI using Terminal, which I'm guessing is saved on my internal as well. So If i download a customer ROM and do a factory wipe along with a cache and delvik wipe, won't I loose those backups that I will need in case of an emergency? Can I just move the CWM Touch backup folder to my external or will that cause issues? I'm clueless.
Thanks,
It'll stay on your internal sd card.
Doing a factory wipe basically resets the data partition and caches, erasing all user and app data leaving the phone as a clean slate. However, this will not erase files from your phone. Your backup will be fine on an internal sd, and things like pictures, music, and downloaded files will stay there as well. You're imei backup is actually stored on your boot partition. That's pretty much as safe as it gets unless you hard brick your phone.
I put all my backups on an external so I can always pull them off if something horrible goes wrong. To move them you have to move the entire folder including the backups and blobs. They have to stay together or if you try to restore a nandroid it won't work.

[Q] how to format internal SD

Hi all, I tried to look for such a simple question but didn't find an answer, so..
I have a friend who has to sell his Tab. I have to clean it, so I can restore factory reset (settings - backup and restore), but I suppose his files and datas won't be deleted.
How to format the internal SD in an unrooted tab? Is there any option in stock recovery?
Thanks a lot
flash custom recovery and try to wipe factory data
Use a file manager on the Tab or connect to a pc and delete everything in storage.

HELP! Accidentally formatted internal storage in TWRP 3.0.0!!!

:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
Hi,
Today i wanted to install Sultanxda CM13, so I carefully wiped only data, system, cache, dalvik cache & ART in Multirom-TWRP 3.0.0 after taking backups in Titanium Backup & nandroid backups. Then I went to wipe>advanced wipe>ticked system>fs options>change fs>selected f2fs & swiped . Same I did for data & cache (formatted only /data, /system & /cache). After that, when I when I went to install zip, MY INTERNAL STORAGE WAS EMPTY! (Also, 54GB space remaining in internal storage) :crying::crying::crying::crying:: OH DAMN S**T . I am very very sure I didnt wipe or format Internal Storage. And now my whole internal storage is gone (IT HAD VERY VERY IMPORTANT VIDEOS, PHOTOS & DOCUMENTS).
SO PLEASE HELP ME IN RECOVERING THE FILES. And curse you TWRP 3.0.0!
EDIT 1: I just saw this xda thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...de-internal-memory-data-recovery-yes-t1994705. But it needs ADB & root access, and I dont have OS. Installing OS isnt a problem or me, but if I install OS, some files would be written on data partition, and that would decrease the chances of file recovery. So any way to access root & adb without OS? @DaxNagtegaal and other people can you please help?
EDIT 2: I tried to use root in adb (in TWRP), but it doesnt work. So I installed COS12.1 YOG7DAS2K1-signed flashable zip & SUperSU 2.65 as a last resort in TWRP, booted it, skipped any data restore (to do it later), installed busybox and now I am trying the long-method given here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...de-internal-memory-data-recovery-yes-t1994705 (Now I am making .raw file of the internal storage block through adb). (It seems its gonna take about 8 hours to completely make the vhd file).
Buy an otg cable download a rom on your pc,transfer it to your pc and voila else you can also buy a usb which can be plug directly in your mobile.i think you will be able to recover some file because rom won't take over 54gb.
Please read properly. I installed COS 12.1 YOG7DAS2K1 as a last resort. Now I am trying to recover the data.
I don't think you will be able to recover all the files but atleast some will be recoverable as rom won't take over all space, how many files were there?which files were valuable to you? it its photos?as i once lost my pictures since then im using google photos!
Yup, many pics, some documents, some text files (in which I save all my passwords, usernames, etc) & videos (also game data ).
ah ok i feel you mate, now when you are up and running just use google photos for pictures and googledrive or dropbox for your important files, atleast you know you will be safe if ever you encounter any issue.
Try " delete " like recovery app .once i tried and recover nearly 500 photos but i hadn't try to recover files .
If you change data to f2fs this will wipe your internal storage. Just do a backup next time and inform you more.
