Is it Overclocked? Maybe that is causing the random reboots. Another thing it could be incompatibility with a new kernel.
Cheers

I have the same problem. Model N8000. Rooted, SuperSU. Not overclocked. CWR: HighOnAndroid.
I trided "Super wipe" and then install the Revolution rom. Anyway sometimes the tablet freezes and reboots. I don't know why.

hi glrramos,
did u do a full wipe? for my experience after i wiped cache, dalvik cache, system and even data, rebooted right after that in recovery again, everything worked just fine. I tested all of them roms onhere, never had any issues except now the redemption 6.0 and 6.1 there is no s-pen handwriting possible, so i stayed with redemptio 5.1.1 and it works just great.
My recovery is twrp2.4.4.0
good luck man.
Rob
I did all that when installing the first time . a few hours ago i manage to install OMEGA ROM ,i had to format every option on my note 10.1 . after doing this it didn't froze during the selection of what to install but after rom was flash where it tells you done aroma got stock frozen a had to manually force shut down luckily it reboots and wazinga OMEGA was fully install .

The problem seems to be linked with an external SD card. I have Samsung 32gb, 10 class card. Full 95%.
I unmounted the external SD card, did ever wipe and then installed the stock rom via PC odin. Everything was OK, until I mounted the SD card. When SD card mounted I made reboot and within 3-5 seconds tried to switch among "silent", "vibration" and "sound" modes in settings. Each time when I made these operations the tablet freezes for 1-2 seconds and rebooted. Without the external SD card I had no such problem.
Can you check your external SD card, please?
Im using a sandisk 32 gb class 10 I have no isues whit it . I did notice most off the ramdom rebooting was while charging . But after reflashing and moving to other rom problem was gone. I suggest to try other sd card . Or reformat sd card the put files back in

Revolution Random reboots
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8013ZWYXAR ice Cream 4.1.2. I installed you Revolution H D Rom and now I have regular random reboots sometimes 2 or 3 in a row. I also have 'Catlog', an event viewer, with the log recorded right up to the point of reboot. I am needing some help with this reboot issue if you could suggest something...
I found a fix for the issue few weeks ago . I restore to stock firmware/root device/install Phil touch 5 / flash Rom. Everything works fine . No more random reboots

Lol I think you over clocked it on the minimum ... try the minimum at 800m ... or if anything flash a new rom.. its probably the rom itself

Try another (stable) rom? (no development rom)
Wipe everything.
And yes, probably its underclocked/overclocked too high.
I would like to flash a rom but once I turn it on it keeps force closing everything and I am unable to do anything on the phone, It boots into recovery mode just fine though

Good news, you flash your ROM from recovery. Download the package, boot into recovery. Mount the SD card and push or push using adb push. Flash the zip from CWM.
my friend purchased the phone yesterday and he is on the latest Official version (2.3.6) and the phone keeps rebooting!!!
is this normal?? there must a problem!

Wipe data/factory reset from recovery if it's a used phone.
If he just bought it return it... thats easy
If he rooted it and changed the rom -- put it back to stock or put a new rom on it
I personally found that most of my restarts were due to me trying to pull the stock launcher into an unfamiliar rom. Make sure (if you are using Titanium backup) to only load apps not system *unless you are trying to go back to the same rom*
good luck
First check if he overclocked too much or underclocked too much. Put it to normal.
Alternatively you can just flash another rom. Before flashing remember to wipe everything
Goodluck!
I'm still stuck at the Asus eee pad screen and I didn't find a solution for it yet.
did the superwipe and I tried different roms, search in every topic.
I use the correct cwm 3.2.0.1
its driving me mad!Please help!!
How long are you waiting on booting?
Wipe everything, load rom, fix permissions and boot then give it 5 minutes...
Try gnufabios ics rom and watch the progress... does is say completed?
I did a superwipe and fixed permission,I have tryed the revolution rom and the standard with root.
after complete i did a reboot then you see the green bar then it reboots again and I wait for more then half a hour..
why is this happening to me things never go smooth ...
Perhaps try loading this one
http://uploading.com/files/1973838a/us-8.6.5.21-CWM-full-unrooted.zip/
Make sure the power is plugged in.
Hang in there champ, there's a solution somewhere.
thanks! I will try it later on.
hoop it works..
and if it don't do you have some other ideas? ?
I suppose more info would help.
What did you have before ? Revolver? Prime? Stock rooted rom?
If stock ROM, which version?
And which ROM did you try first when the problems started?
Ps: I'm no expert just read a lot of these threads and flashed a few Roms.
at first I had revolver 3.11 (hc) and the first ics rom I tried was the us stock rooted full (option b). I have tried different mirrors.

same thing happened to me too, since the update two times surprisingly i noticed my screen stucked at the Asus logo,i dont know why its so,it looks some issue there in the stability,
but anyway i just did a cold reboot by holding down the volume down button and the power button simuteneously untill cwm options appears on the left corner as well two images on the center then release the buttons, after few seconds the system will reboot normally.
sorry for my poor english...
that sounds like a different problem because you passed the installation process and the system just reboots (there are other with the same problem)I on the other hand am still stuck before that
just try going back to recovery and manually wiping rather than using super wipe - reflash the rom and reboot - dont fix permissions either.
sorry did that already. then people said superwipe is the solution but that didn't work either ..maybe I'm the only one....
Had the same Problem Yesterday.. - with a Restore from a CWM Backup..
Always Stuck @ the EEE PAD Screen.. - Tried Permissions, Wipe Cache, Old Backups etc. but the PAD never Boot..
After this i Flashed "Revolution ICS" and the Problem was gone.. - donĀ“t know why. Maybe the Kernel?!
can you get back to another rom or base?
how much free disk space do you have?
Yes I can i'am now still on revolver 3.11 hc..
Tried the revolution HD rom didn't. Work either.
Very strange.......
try flashing the stock ww full rom with root first to give you an ics base.....
is it rogue recovery you have? if not flash it first and then try working from internal sd.
otherwise im not sure what else to suggest.
I don't know what roque recovery is...
I will try the roque method and some different roms will be back later on..

Yes, thats normals.. Happens every Time here
I tried both Recoverys (Roque and Roach) was always the same ... - Hope Roque Recovery Helps you..
Flashed from External or Internal SD? Try Flashing from Internal so you know your External SD is not corrupt.. - You can flash from Internal only from Roque btw.
I'm getting sick and tired. Even roque won't work flashing it from internal..how long does it normally take to get past the eeepad logo??

I apologize in advance for being a noob, this is my first go at customizing ANYTHING android.
I got my Asus Transformer TF300T in January, had some hardware issues with it and exchanged it. I JUST got it back and decided to go custom before i got it all set up and then i would have to start over.
So I followed THIS guide and successfully installed Baked 7, Initially I used CWM as the guide told, but I could not get a boot image backup, so I used the same method and installed the most recent TWRP and it worked flawlessly.. I was unhappy with how the notification bar was at the top, I liked the stock where it was at the bottom. I could not find initial details on how to revert back to stock rom, so i decided to give some other custom roms a try. I was very interested in scottsmods CleanROM, but their website does not have the download anymore(that I could find) and thats where all the links in guides point to. So instead I installed CyanogenMod using THIS Guide. I immediatly noticed problems with this rom. It did not pick up my SD card, there was an error window that would pop up and go away before i could read it. It would not get on wifi.
I did further research into going back to stock, so I followed THIS guide its not directly XDA, but it followed the same style that i had learned previously(fastboot, etc) I did change to the support page of just the TF300T on the asus site, the guide links to the 3g one. I could not find my SKU in my device because the cyanogen rom changed the "Build" number. So I have tried each from the asus site and flashed them and would get stuck on the asus boot screen. I waited over an hour on each one before i decided it was frozen and to move to the next.
I didnt get any of the stock firmwares working. So I reflashed to TWRP, and attempted to go back to baked. I couldnt get the zip to install in twrp. but i was able to get cynogen to install again. It doesnt have the error window thing and the wifi works but still no SD.
I want to go back to stock, or baked if stocks not possible.
Stocks already been tried to the best of my ability, so i tired baked. Baked is on my external SD card, as in cynogen I cant access the internal one to move the files over.
Baked gives me an error saying unable to open zip file.
What am I missing? I cant seem to figure this out. Any and all help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
well, first off, you went from Baked 4.1 to cyo 4.2, now as i understand it . They moved the file system around in 4.2, and if you want to go back to 4.1 you have to wipe everything, I use TWRP 2.4.1.0 . Now I can understand not wanting to lose everything you've had set up.. Always do a back up before any major Flash. Just incase if your on a rom now thats decent save your files, perform a wipe, flash a rom , Clean rom in the xda threads is what im using.. Running great BTW. lemme know if it helped or didn't... lol Clean ROM Inheritance is a stock based rom. with an oc kernel which makes the tab perform like its supposed to. just be sure if you do decide to flash it you choose a kernel in the installer with T = Wifi, G=3G, 4G, etc. you want the T G

Is the 4.1 the same as 7? because 7 was the latest version available from team baked.
Edit: wait a sec... i think I understand. You mean baked 7 was 4.1 android and cyo was 4.2 android?
as far as data goes, i've already done all that. i did factory reset, wipe cache/wipe davik thing each time, no bueno. I have no data on the device as it was brand new outta the box. in TWRP, theres an option for wipe data, but factory reset says it wipes data and cache. should i still do the wipe data option instead of factory reset? so... wipe data/wipe cache/wipe davik instead of factory reset/wipe cache/wipe davik?
And also, I'm trying to flash a rom, back to baked from cyo because atleast baked worked. but it tells me its unable to open my zip files.
Do you have a link to the download of CleanROM? I've checked the official threads here and the download links take me to scottsroms.com and their download page only has the nexus10 and nexus 7 along with a bunch of phones.

So I managed to install cleanROM but its stuck on the boot screen now. its been sitting here spinnging for 20 minutes. the link you gave me says to let it stabilize for around 10 minutes. is it spinning the stabilizing part? should i let it keep going?
I used the TF300 kernel and the 160 thing as specified in the guide. everything else default with the exception of adding the go launcher HD and hacked hulu plus apps....
I did a format data(which wiped my internal sd and the zip file i was installing from so i had to reload to cya and recopy the zip to my internal sd card. i did factory reset and wiped cach/dalvik prior to installing. then after install i wiped cache/dalvik again as the guide said.
any ideas?

OK! so I got my tablet working with cleanROM at last!!!
I figured out why the zip files werent opening. for some reason my tab was only able to install from zips DIRECTLY on the internal sd card. whenever it tried one from the external sd card, despite being mounted, it was always unable to open the zip and would fail.
CleanROM got stuck initially because i used the WW version instead of the US version. Once i reflashed with the US version it worked great! had an issue with the start wizard crashing, but that went away after it stabilized. I stared customizing and playing and had no issues other than the SD card notification. That was an option i didnt choose to patch because i didnt know prior how annoying that notification was. it wouldnt get out of my notification window! so I flashed again, with that option enabled so that the sd card didnt bug me in the notification window.
I just got it back up and running, after the second flash with that modification added, and other than the start wizard still crashing(again, i let it sit a while and now it worked) it seems to be working great!
I hope my experiences can help newbies in the future that may have similar issues!

So.. which kernel did you choose? You should download the 2.0 kernel installer on the same thread, and choose the Unters tf300tG because you have 3g.. you will find your tablet runs ALOT smoother and faster than stock, but you need to flash the stock kernel first. Its a good way to do kernel flashes.

I actually dont have 3G. mine is just a TF300T wifi only. Unless its the software that makes it 3G? But i dont think thats the case...
Would that alternate kernel give any other benefits other than 3G support?
Oh yea. Youll see a dramatic change in performance to say the least. Now. Im running a tf 700 kernel. But I would recommend you yo get the Unters TF300t kernel in the 2.0 Kernel Installer. Put the Installer zip on internal. Flash. Choose your kernel. Wipe cache and dalvik . Then reboot. You will not regret it.

My tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Wifi) keeps rebooting randomly. I'm running CM 10.1.0-RC5, and I've had the same problem with RC2, RC3, and RC4. I'll just be using my tablet, happy as a clam, when *BAM* I'm looking at the Cyanogen startup animation. This seems to happen randomly; sometimes every few minutes, sometimes every few hours. Always several times a day. Memory doesn't seem to be an issue; it looked like I had roughly 50% free during one reboot (I was looking at the "Running Applications" screen in "Settings" when it rebooted).
Anybody else having this problem? Any possible solution? I love CM and don't want to start from scratch with the stock ROM again, but these reboots are driving me NUTS!

try reinstalling this rom!
before installing zip from sd
do
clear data/factory reset
clear cache
go to advanced>wipr dalvic
flash the rom
again wipe dalvic cache.
after the rom starts, let it be as it is for 5 minutes. the rom needs som time to get stable, this avoides many FC's.

Have you done any undervolting or anything? That can cause this.
If not you may try doing a full wipe and reinstall of the ROM. Clearly you've got something borked up that an update flash isn't fixing. A full wipe may solve your problem. It's a pain in the rump, but sometimes you have to do that.

It started for me when I upgraded from CM10.1 M3 to CM10.1RC3 i think it was. I have tried upgrading to Rc4 and RC5 also but same problem with the rebooting.
I also tried to go back to M3 but it was also just rebooting randomly.
Before I upgraded to RC3, I never had a problem with the tablet.

I tried this last night, and thus far, I haven't had any more problems. I've been running it hard, too; prior to the factory reset and reflash, it would have rebooted several times by now. Here's hoping.
I have a theory as to what caused my problems. Looking at the original CM zip that I used, I realized that it was a nightly build rather than a stable Release Candidate. Perhaps my problem was building on a non-stable foundation? At any rate, I flashed CM 10.1.0-RC5 last night, and it's working great.
To anyone else having this problem, remember to do a FULL CLEAR DATA/FACTORY RESET. Simply clearing the cache and flashing a new ROM wasn't enough. I recommend backing up your apps and settings with Titanium, then just going for the clean start.
Normal practice for rom flashing
It is in my, and many others experiences that a failsafe way to flash a ROM is as described below..
Note: this is assuming that you have already downloaded the rom you want and placed it on your sdcard/external-sdcard and that you have a custom recovery like clockworkmod or twrp...
Reboot into recovery
Make a backup of your current system
Tip: its always better to have a removable external_sdcard when doing any kind of root tasks but not needed
Now for the ROM..
1. go to mounts & storage and select it
2. Scroll down to the "format" section
3. Now select format system (and then yes)
4. Select format cache (and then yes)
5. Select format preload (and the yes)
6. Select format data (you get it)
If you don't have an external_sdcard don't format anything else and proceed to step 8
Now if you have a (removable) external_sdcard and you have placed the ROM and gapps on it, then you should;
7. Select format sdcard (the NOT REMOVABLE, internal sdcard space)
8. ***go back***
9. Install zip from sdcard/external_sdcard and proceed with your normal install procedure...
By doing the format methods before installing a new ROM, you're insuring that the ROM is writing to all freshly wiped partitions on your device and this will always be the most redundant way of making sure something did not get left over from your previous setup.
Most install.zips that the ROM is packed up in do perform the format of system, data, and cache during the install and usually it works fine but however, it is not always reliable.. By doing the few extra steps above, you will always know that the installation is a clean one and will greatly reduce problems like described above in this thread.. Why not just be sure?

If you have done a "FULL WIPE" like I described in the post above and your device is still randomly rebooting..
Then it is most likely due to something having to do with the kernel.
There are many reasons why it could be triggering the "panic" feature in android but the most common ones are;
Over clocking.. Either your devices processor CPU OR GPU, cannot handle being scaled up to the frequency that the ROM sets it at, or
Unstable... The kernel that came with the ROM you are installing is not yet stable enough for daily use and is in need of more debugging/development.

I tried this last night, and thus far, I haven't had any more problems. I've been running it hard, too; prior to the factory reset and reflash, it would have rebooted several times by now. Here's hoping.

You had either an app or a setting that wasn't doing what it was supposed to. That is the only way a factory reset would fix it.
That also means the problem could have been fixed without the reset. You would have just had to isolate the error, which obviously is tough. Just keep that in mind if it happens again, immediately try to remember the last thing you changed, the last app that was updated, the last setting you altered, etc. Then maybe you can fix it faster without the hassle of the reset.
Glad its fixed!

After flashing and reflashing the CM 10.1 rom, and it still giving me random reboots, I flashed a custom kernal today and it seems to have fixed the reboot problem I had.

Which kernel?
I'm very new to this kernel stuff, I got the hang of roms (I think) and I'm now using Cyanogenmod. I read somewhere it already includes it's own kernel, correct?
All roms come with a kernel as part of the install package. You can change to different kernels as well.
Right now for the t mobile phone i think there is just the stock cm kernel and albinoman887's kernel. The aokp roms probably have some other kernel tweaks in their stock kernels

Don't forget DhollmenCM Kernel.
Posted from my Galaxy Tab 2 with CM10.1
I am Having the same prob with galaxy tab2 7.0(gt-p3100)
I having been trying to run the latest carbon (4.3) nightly
but every time i would reboot, it would get stuck at the static boot screen.
I'd have to do a full wipe of everything (data partition as well) and re-install just to get it to work again.
i tried several time with a few nightlies. I had an 8/27 cm 10.2 on my card and decided to give that a go. to my surprise
i had the same problem. so now i'm thinking WTF?
I decided to pull my sd card and boot. again it went to the boot screen. i pulled the battery and powered up again. this time it booted. (no sd card)
woohoo.
rebooted several times.. seems to be good to go.
so i did a full wipe loaded up carbon 0903 and same problem.
so i tried my fix. pulled sd card.. powered on. at boot screen. pulled battery and powered back up.
took a little bit of time. but it booted up.. success!
powered off, put the sd card back in and powered back up and it's working fine now.
rebooted several times with no issues.
i'm not sure what the problem is, but i googled and found many people across different phones & roms with the same issue. so it's a google issue.
but with our phone that's a possible fix.
give it a go and see what you get.
I had that problem once but flashing 09/03 seemed to fix it. Are you running a kernel with that or just stock carbon?
stock kernel. I didn't try any 3rd party kernels. I should have though. good idea
when you say "SDCARD" do you mean an extsdcard? I'm coming from a DROID-X, and sometimes get confused. This was happening on Mastamoon's 10.2 when people would boot from the extsdcard, so am wondering if that is the answer

I also came from the DX
yes i mean the external SD card that is by the sim card that you can take out.
I realize not all phones have sd cards that can be pulled. but i do know the problem happens on more than just the sgs3
oddly my father in law has the droid razr maxx and i loaded carbon 4.3 on his and had no problems with it (using multi-boot slot system)
however, what's interesting is i can reproduce both the problem and the fix for 4.3 roms (carbon & cm 10.2 at least)
1) full wipe (including data partitions) & install 4.3 rom (carbon or cm 10.2)
2) rom boots and works, configure it as usual
3) reboot
stuck at static boot screen? read on. if not then you probably won't be reading this post anyways
4) pull battery AND external sd card
5) battery goes back in WITHOUT sd card. power up.
if it is still stuck at boot screen, pull battery 1 more time.
6) battery back in and power back up. wait (could take a minute or two just wait, if your at like 10 minutes, then somethings wrong, try again)
If it boots into rom, then your golden. power off, put sd card back in and boot back up.
good to go..
again, i was able to re-produce both the problem and the fix on 0902/0903 carbon 4.3 and 0827 cm 10.2
I did download the 0904 carbon today and flashed and have had no problems, i have rebooted several times without problems
so i don't know if the "fix" from the day before resolved my issue or if i did a full wipe if the problem would come back.
i have not determined that yet and am happy with my set up (everything is working) so i'm probably not going to try unless someone needs me to verify.
hope it is helpful to someone stuck like i was.
All 4.3 ROMs do this to me.. As soon as I reboot I get stuck at the splash... Can't load anything. Have to do a full wipe and reboot.

Hmm, I run TW as my daily and every couple weeks I've run Slim 4.3. I haven't noticed any issues on reboots. Didn't notice this on the AOKP 4.3 alpha this weekend either. Is this reproducible on every 4.3 rom we have with your phone: whether its (un)official PA, Slim, CM, and whatever else there is?
Yup all 4.3

Is it a specific brand of sdcard that does this to you both? Have you tried another brand maybe or even reformatting that card? Its unusual that the sdcard would cause a freeze up like that every time.
I've done it with no SD card inserted at all. Complete clean install. Literally the only thing j had the sdcard in for was installing the ROM after a complete phone wipe. As soon as it was completed, I pull the SD card and do the initial ROM boot. It loads up just fine. I can do whatever with the ROM... If I reboot at all, I get stuck. This is all with stock kernel. I have not tried to use KT or any other 4.3 out there at all. My phone just does not like 4.3 as of right now.

By complete. I mean COMPLETE. Full factory reset. If I would've flashed a 4.1 I would no longer have the /0 folder

Yea, I would hold off from prolonged JB 4.3 use if I had those same issues too. I've only used custom kernels with 4.2 and 4.3 but idk how much a difference that would make. I have an inherent bias against using the stock kernel regardless of the rom.

did you try doing it exactly as i listed above?
I loaded carbon 0905 and kt747 - 0831 and working fine (dirty flash)
but everything works great after i do what i listed above.

i'm using a sandisk 32gb card.
as i mentioned if i follow the steps listed above, everything works great for me.
custom kernels and all.
Just tried with build 5.. No luck. Did the method in the op as well.. I have a 32 GB sandisk as well

No Problems Here
I've flashed a number of the nightlies (both clean and dirty update) and have not encountered this issue with a 32GB Sandisk external card. Odd that it doesn't affect all sg3's.
BTW, my device is d2vzw.
Its similar with the issue of Miui. There were some that just couldn't run MIUI... wouldn't boot at all

I never tried it with MIUI.
but the problem and fix/workaround worked for me on carbon, CM so at least for me it's a reproduce-able experience.
I don't think it's a bad SD card by any means. I think that something is trying to be written or read from the card and fails, so by removing the card and rebooting, the OS stops trying to do whatever it was trying to do and goes on with the boot.
edit: tonight i tried pa_d2vzw-3.99-L13N-20130906 and it did not do this this freezing at the boot screen stuff.
Slim 4.3 works for me.. Apparently the CM kernel doesn't like my phone. I flashed BMS.. I rebooted. The first initial reboot took 10 min and then all of the sudden it was up and working.
