Hey everyone! I have problems with multiple micro sd cards.
I have an 8gb micro-sd card that will not read anywhere at all. The computer won't even recognize it as a device. My phone will say that it is unsupported, and cameras do not recognize it.
I also have a 64gb micro-sd card. The problem with this one is that it is recognized, but not able to be formatted. my phone and computer can not format it. And a camera says that it is too full to take pictures, but that there is not a single file on it.
Any ideas on what to do about any of this? Any help? or just any useful thoughts?
You may want to try the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool.
With it I've been able to delete partitions that I messed up in linux.
If that still doesn't work you could try a linux livecd with gparted on it.

How to i see my sd card on my computer so i can put things onto it? Im rooted and have cmw
It's under "removable" and you will see "microsd." Also, if you end up not being able to mount it, make a partition on your uSD card and that will probably solve the problem..
only thing to show up is the the internal storage. How do i creat a partition?
Ok i found the sd card. Its under device storage. It wont let me put anything on it though
All im wanting to do is put a custom rom on my sd card so i can flash it.
Make sure that your SD card is formatted in a way that your computer can read it. For best compatibility, format it as FAT32. You'll probably need to plug it into a computer in order to do this, which probably defeats the point in trying to do this using the device as a huge SD card reader.
Also, if your card -is not- the microSD card, make sure that it is not ticked to the 'lock' direction. On normal sized SD cards, there is a moveable nub.
Check to see if you can write files to the SD card FROM the Transformer. If you can, the alternative is to download the rom file to your Transformer, and then put it on the SD card from there.
Bumping your thread/making multiple subsequent posts won't make it so that you receive assistance quicker. If anything, it will make people ignore you because You are a Noob. You hate yourself(azrienoch, YouTube, 2011).
i can see it fine on the transformer. Could it be something wrong with cmw. How do i reformat it.
Plug your SD card into the computer, and use your disk management software that ships with your computer. If you're on Mac OS X, use Disk Utility. If you're on Linux, use cfdisk or fdisk.
On my machine(windows xp), if in windows explorer I click on
Transformer TF101 - Portable Media Player,
I get two different options
Internal Storage or Micro SD
This was after an update to the ASUS sync software though.
Originally I could only see the MicroSD was through
Internal Storage->MicroSD
When accessed through the tranformer, this is not writable. This is a limitation of sd cards. You can't have two hosts with write access.
The other way is to put it in internal storage, then use the transformer's File manager and copy from the SDcard, and move it to /Removable/MicroSD
Ok the sync program i downloaded is not in english. Its the one fromthewebsite too
Can you clarify if it is a SDCard(in the dock), or a microSD card(in the tablet)?
You can't see the dock storage from a pc, I believe. I also think you can't install roms from the dock.
Sorry i probably didnt know what the dock meant then.
It is in my tablet. I plug it into the computer. If i go to computer and look at it it says. Asus Transformer tf101. Click on it again and it says device storage and thats it. Its like it cant see my sd card at all. Is there a way to go into usb mode or something so my pc can see it? Also on my sd card all it says is lost. something. Shouldnt there be more since i rooted it. I got su functions
I think that you should be able to see it through internal storage, either Removable folder, or microsd folder.
If not, just copy it to the internal memory, and cut/paste it through the transformer file manager
Can someone help me on this.. every time i plug my sd card to the PC it says "Format disk?" and when i plug it to my phone, it says "Blank Sd card". i can't reformat it and i can't access the files in my sd card..
i've tried several formatting tools, revery tools, but none of them work..
My sd card is SanDisk 2GB MicroSD card..
i Hope there is a solution..
There are a ton of threads on this. Search through and use a couple of them.
Sounds like you have a bad card or your are not unmounting the card in your phone.
Some viruses and rootkits will prevent your pc from formatting or recognizing external media. Verify your computer can recognize other cards.
yeah i know there are lots of threads about this.. but , no luck, non of them work..i plugged it at other devices and still the same.. xD w/c means sandisk is bad?

same **** happened to me..(twice!) and appaerantly there isn't any easy way to recover an sd card from that state. Easiest (though most expensive) solution is to just buy a new one..
Yep - sounds like its broke. BUT consider that back in the day a floppy disk would run you $1 or $2. If you scaled that up a 2gb card would cost $1,400 to $2,800.
Makes me want to go backup.
sound like its broken, but try to use minitool partition wizard.
use this settings:
-Choose Create as Primary.
-Patrition type Ext2
-Cluster size 4Kb Cluster size 4Kb
So I got a new 64gb micro sd card for Christmas and it doesn't seem to work on my phone whatsoever. Every time I put it into my phone it says it's damaged and that I need to format it, but instead of formatting it, it erases all my files in the internal storage. I didn't realize it the first time and it was very annoying to find out it did that. The micro sd card does however, work on my pc. So I've tried to format the sd card mutiple times on my pc , using different apps and formatting it to different types, but none of it seems to be working. I do not think it has anything to do with my cfw I have on because I changed it and I'm still having the same problem. So any help or suggestions would be appreciated as I would really like to have the extra storage on my phone.
You have to format it as FAT32. Skyrockets won't read it if it's formatted any other way.
Hi guys,
My phones micro-sd card has been acting strange and was not being recognized at times by my phone. I then proceeded to put it in its SD card adapter and put it in my Mac and got an error saying the card was unreadable. I then put it in a reader on my PC and everytime I try to access the drive it gives me the 2 errors, "You need to format the drive...etc" and after clicking cancel it says that my drive is an unrecognized file format.
Recuva says it can't read the boot sector and running chkdsk gives me the message that the file format is RAW.
Just tried running ReclaiMe file recovery and it says the card is only 30.6MB while it is actually a 32GB card.
Do you guys think there is any hope? Or should I just move on?
Any help would appreciated. Got a lot of pictures and music I would love to save on the drive, plus ROM backups.
Thanks so much
Bump
I've killed an SD card before.. not sure how.. it had been partitioned EXT3 for a rom on a desire.. then re-formatted to normal..
but the problem came months after without notice one day the camera was failing and the gallery wouldn't open..
I tried a new SD card and things were fine so I figured the SD card died
Try to use MiniTool Partition Wizard on your pc, and delete ext partition and swap stay only on fat32. if that does not work format your card to exfat. If that doesn`t work try use program "winhex"(before i used it, my computer hadnt read my card). I repaired my card 3 times these methods.
You can use this ONLY on memory card reader.
Hi,
I have a 32GB microSD card that some how got corrupted transferring files between my Windows 7 PC and my Asus TF300 Android tablet. Fortunately, it is a SanDisk card and they are willing to replace it for me, but there was personal information on that card and I would rather they not try to recover the files on that card or even have access to them.
As far as I can tell, the on-board controller is bad, but all of the actual data is still just sitting there on the card. So far, I haven't been able to access the files or format the card with Windows, Linux, or Android, both in a microSD slot on a tablet/phone or in a card reader with an SD adapter. Most of the time, the device won't even recognize it as a valid SD card and when it does, I get an I/O error. Windows "Format" tells me that it has an "unknown size" and can't do anything with it.
Most of the information I have found tells me what to do with corrupt files, but not a corrupt card. Does anyone know of either a way to recover the card or any way to erase the data without having access to the card itself?
Thanks,
Don
