Ringke Fusion and Glass Screen Protector - Nexus 4 Accessories

Hey guys. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong area but I have a question regarding the Ringke Fusion case and glass screen protector compatibility. I was just wondering if any of you guys have the two and if they fit together without any issues.
Thanks in advance for your help.

i ask this question in different threads in this forum and nobody helped. i have the fusion case too and would want know if a glass screen protector would be compatible. from my research so far i believe the one from fantom might fit judging thru videos

I can only speak on the Maru, but don't get either if you are using PA. The sensitivity issues are horrid. But if you want it anyway, I think the Maru will fit without an issue because it's a bit thinner than the Fanthom (I think). I tried using it on the OEM Bumper and it fit and looked awesome, but didn't work at all for me. I would think it would fit the Ringke without much issues either. I would try it, but my Maru cracked/broke.

Not true. Maru + Ringke Fusion isn't fully compatible with each other. It will fit, but you will have sensitivity problems (e.g. screen seems to lift a bit) from my experience.

[dry install]spigen sgp front and back protectors

Just in case anybody wanted to know SGP now has a front and back protector and they are dry installs for those who prefer it that way. They're 13.99 which is the same price that you got for the single front protector that they initially started selling. They come in both ultra crystal and and ultra oleophobic.
Here are the links.

I hope these don't feel like rubber. I ordered those wet application xtreme guard ones and they feel like crap and get dirty and greasy so easily. Let me know if these actually feel smooth because I'm interested in picking up decent screen protectors this time

They don't feel like rubber. These are not vinyl like material like wet install protectors. They are a harder plastic. I have the front one and it is very smooth to the touch.

SGP's are the BEST screen protector known to man. The only reason I don't have them for this phone is that they weren't out when I ordered mine...
How do these compare to BSE? Will these work with the official Google Bumper Case?

They are a dry install which means that once you start putting it down there isn't much room for error. They don't cover 100% of the screen either. They kind of miss out on the curved edges. They are much harder than the BSE and have little to no orange peel effect. They are defiantly flatter and thinner.
I'm sure there won't be any problems with any case because it doesn't go to the edge of the screen.

should work fine. I would say it's probably better than the wet installs. Only thing is some people might not like the front since it doesn't cover the entire glass due to the curves on the sides.

I asked for a refund cause I didn't like the non-matte finish and they sent me a replacement. If anyone wants a BNIB Spigen Dual for $14 shipped, PM me.

I had dual screen protectors when I had an iPhone 4 and a matte back makes it look and feel really nice. Hopefully Spigen makes a one matte and one gloss set, or I'll have to wait for eBay ones
Anyone have this that can comment on if this will prevent the back of my phone from sliding off of everything? I want to go without a case, but need something to prevent the back of my phone from sliding everywhere.
Also, anyone use it extensively with wireless charger notice it if messes up the screen protector at all?
Thanks!

Looking for a quality hard back..

Hey guys, I want to find a hard backing for this phone (because hard plastic feels so much better in the hand than gel case.. right? I haven't actually tried both out but I feel it would) but I want something that won't interfere with the edges of the front of the phone. Does anyone know of any cases like this or can you sell me on a soft backing that would again not interfere with the front experience? Thanks

Most cases have a lip along the sides that affects the curved corner of the phone. Havent seen any that don't actually. That being said, I'd reccomended the Nikon or ringke slim case now that they have fixed the issues with the early batch of cases.

Another vote for the Rinke Rearth SLIM. It's a fine case. It's very thin and makes the phone totally not slippery if you get the matte version. It feels good in your hands and will help protect the buttons from damage too. There isn't a ton of protection from drops as the top and bottom sides are pretty much exposed, but it's more or less what you are looking for short of some sort of thick back protector that sticks on like a screen protector.
Second on the nillkin, tho i would fancy the ringke if i was in the US...

Urban Armor Gear Case & Glass Screen Protector?

I saw Vectron's review of the UAG case where he said he didn't think that the Spigen glass protector would fit on with it. What I'm curious about is if anyone has actually tried this or tried it with any other glass protector? I love the look of the UAG case and the reviews here have me just about sold on it. But I'd like to know if I can use any sort of glass screen protector with it.
I dont see why it wouldnt, the s3 version had no problems from what i read
I wouldn't know one way or the other, but I'd love to hear from someone who has tried it. In his review of the case, Vectron just laid the screen protector on there, saying it didn't look like it fit, but mentioned that he had some sort of pre-release model of the phone.

i got the spigen tr glass and it fit perfectly to this case.
and i must said this is a better case then spigen neo hybrid. its smaller in width, more comfortable to hold. The rubber lip off / along the glass is much higher, giving it more protection. the buttons are not so prompt to accidental activation.

Thanks for the response and the pics. Did you put the glass on first, then the case? Or vice-versa? Could you put the case on before the glass, even? It seems like if you could, it might help with alignment.

not the case first, nono i dun recommend tat. the rubber is soft enuff to over lap the glass, esp the tr since its edges are rounded. actually it kinda protect the glass edges, if its not for the cut out at the top earphone, u cant tell there's a additional glass over ur original screen. definately a perfect match wif this combination.

Hi, I'm planning to get the UAG casing for my phone too. but the earphone port is holding me back.
I'm curious if the port is big enough for 3rd party earphones to be plugged in. I've gotten several casing and it can't fit in perfectly for my phone to detect it.
I'm using a Shure SE-215, with a L-shaped jack.
I've attached a photo of the jack.
My iLoome glass screen protector fits perfectly. Im loving it everyday
I am using the UAG with the GLAS.t NANO SLIM and it fits just right.

[Q] Ringke fusion

my clear tpu case has started yellowing so time for a new one, i have decided on the ringke fusion as after reading many reviews it seems like a great case but i have a few concerns. A few have pointed out that the case actually scratches the sides of the nexus 5 which is a deal breaker for me as only reason i want a case is to keep the phone in pristine condition for resale can any white nexus 5 owners who are using this case confirm whether this is true or not? Also a few others have pointed out that the sides are really sharp which makes it uncomfortable to hold not sure if this is true either? Will also be using a tempered glass screen protector with the case if that makes a difference.

Hi yes i had a look before posting, i thought this thread would belong in the accesory section so typed everything up there but when i ticked the box stating is this a question it said it is against forum rules to post any questions in this forum please go and post in Q&A so i just copied and pasted everything here lol
I have this case (grey) on my white Nexus 5 - it looks great.
Are the edges a little sharp? Yes. Do they ever bother me when holding my phone? Nope.
As far as scratching - I'm not sure about that. It is a TPU material and hasn't damaged mine the least bit in the four months I have been using it.
Overall, I think its a great case for the price.
That soubds promising, i forgot to ask since its tpu will it also yellow with time? The back i mean im not sure if its tpu or another material

I currently have the orzly tempered glass which currently looks and feels great BUT there is a huge bubble near the notification light which seems others have a problem with as well, i got a refund and was thinking of ordering another one and putting some binder clips on it asap but the price went up from £4.99 to £9.99 which i think is stupid but i cant seem to find a cheap one which does not have cutouts for the camera and proximity sensor

Clear TPU is known for yellowing. The clear plastic on these hybrid cases aren't TPU and shouldn't yellow over time.

The Ringke Case was the first case I bought for my Nexus 5 when it first came out. I had one on my Galaxy S3 and knew that it was a high quality accessory. When i got it delivered from Amazon I was pretty hyped up to try it on. Needless to say it looked great. I always prefer the very slim cases so it doesn't add bulk to a phone that looks so good. My only gripe is that it's really hard to get the case off once you put it on. The first time I took it off, I thought I was going to break my phone. You will learn how to best take the case off. The plastic on the case actually bends pretty well so you can pop an edge out. I have not had any issues with scratching on the corners, although many others complain. The edges of the case are a little bit sharp, but it was nothing I couldn't deal with. If you have a file or piece of fine sandpaper, that would do the trick. I bought the solid black color, so I have no idea about the yellowing issue. I would buy it if you like it. I just saw that Ringke was selling their cases 1/2 off yesterday, so grab one if you can. Even if you don't like it, you didn't spend much you know? I'm sure you will be satisfied. Good luck....
Im going to order it now cheapest i could find is £6.99 on amazon. Price isn't really an issue its not the cheapest case but if its durable then not expensive either my main concern was the case scratching the nexus 5 because if it did that then i wouldn't even want it if it was free, maybe it's a problem with the black nexus 5 with softer and matte sides? Or maybe an old revision problem as it says on the description on amazon " ENHANCED AND REVISED" so maybe the problem has been rectified

Got my ringke fusion in the post today and 1st impressions...... It is amazing feels very premium and looks premium worth every penny and more. My only slight issue is that there is some glue residue on the top right hand corner and a tiny bit on the bottom left hand corner however this does not effect the function of the case thats why it's a slight issue. Another problem is my sennheiser hd 558s wont fit into the phone now but that's probably just because the adapter on the 558 is pretty huge

also happy with Fusion case and TechArmor glass
...black edges, clear back, but pretty well brand new, so dunno about yellowing yet...it's not like the back is out in the sun a lot, it's in my palm!
As for TechArmor glass, it was $15, so pretty steep, and while it went on, it just won't stay put at the very bottom..."bubbles" that I can press all the way out but creep back up again for about the last 1/2" of the phone. Otherwise I love it, the rest is very, very smooth, really you don't notice it a bit, and no problems with touch sensitivity whatever. Bought from Amazon...TechArmor doesn't show it on their own website...?

Get yourself some binder clips and attach it to where the bubbles are, use a microfibre cloth in between so it doesn't damage the phone or the screen protector, and leave a few hours overnight will be better, and the bubbles will be gone

The spigen one makes the back of the phone look much nicer than the ringke as it doesn't overlap the white as much however from reviews its a little bulkier than the ringke and buttons are harder to press whereas on the ringke i have the buttons are perfect

Just noticed another fault on my ringke fusion, on the bottom right hand corner (when looking from behind) right above the bit that sticks out it doesn't seem to join perfectly almost as if enough glue was not used could my qi charger have melted it a little? If no then should i ask for a replacement or am i likely to get the same again

Official LG slim hard case

I see the official LG slim hard case listed as an accessory on their website but haven't found anywhere to buy it. Doesn't show up in LGs store and Google search returns nothing relevant. Is this case simply not available yet in the US? Or does anyone know where to purchase it from? Thanks
This is a good substitute to the official one. Plus it allows wireless charging.

I love it and it doesn't overlap at all. It runs flush and doesn't have any if much lay on the table protection.
I use http://www.amazon.com/Spigen®-Screen-Shield-Shimmery-Premium/dp/B00JQI311C which is really slim and protrudes so you can set the phone down screen first, also comes with a nice screen protector and it's cheap.

I don't take it off very often, but it hasn't scratched anything yet. I can say it's a perfect fit so you shouldn't get anything under it (I work in a very dusty place, no dust gets in mine) so wipe the screen before removing the case and this shouldn't be an issue.
I have the Spigen Ultra Hybrid on mine along with a tempered glass screen protector. Couldn't be happier with them.
