Hi There,
Sorry misleading title, it's a P5100 (wifi+3G tab)
I know this has been asked many times on these forums, but I couldn't find anything to help.
Following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1722745
I tried to restore the P5100 to stock from CM (This is the firmware I downloadad: http://samsung-updates.com/details/1...100UBDMD2.html)
Now my device is stuck in charging boot loop. I can enter stock download mode via holding up and power on boot (however Odin 3.07 fails at the "setupConnection" and Odin 1.85 fails at Can't open the specified file. (Line: 1876)) I tried this on several computers.
I am able to turn the device of when it's plugged in to power, it then goes to the battery charging screen and if I take out the power the device remains off.
I cannot enter stock recovery, maybe I am doing something wrong, but when holding the down volume and tapping the power button the device simply boots.
Any help appreicated
Think you have same issue as me. I can get to download mode but not recovery, only difference is I can flash the firmware with no errors but tablet still wont boot always stuck on samsung logo and will not go to recovery either.
Have you tried a different usb cable, I also got that message few times I just rebooted it back to download mode and it fixed up after that. Good luck.
No luck
I have managed to use odin and flash a different stock firmware. Now the device simply gets stuck on the Samsung Logo on boot. How'd you fix this?
I have already tried all cwm recoveries some bootloaders and different stock firmwares. I think the chip that holds the firmware might be faulty and doesnt let the device boot up.
Anyone had same issue that can help us get a solution to this problem or at least an explanation of whats going on would be highly apreciated.

I don't know if your phone is the same, but with my Nexus if stuck in bootloop I can plug the usb cable in and use adb to enter command "adb reboot bootloader" and get to fastboot and flash the stock images. Maybe you can try something like that. That's why I love the nexus I thought I bricked it a couple times but I always got back to stock images. or if you have a cwm restore you can get to that once in fastboot.
Thanks for your reply! but where i can find stock images?? and can i make it without formatting everything on it? plus when i did that i wasn't have the sd card inside it and without a sim card also
i found on the web that i need to install default kernel.. i did that and put it to bootloader in Odin and the operation succeed but now i am facing looping on Samsung logo with yellow triangle ... see the picture.. it always loop can't do anything tried recovery mode download mode but nothing.. is there any fast solution please? i beg you guys please
Try to wipe everything trough recovery, and flash another rom.
Just google for Heimdall recovery
Does Heimdall perform anything different than Odin?
try to install leaked original rom ics for gs2. i try it and yellow triangle is out
Hello experts,
I was rooting my samsung galaxy tab 2 7" , now when i am booting up the device, it goes straight to cwm recovery and get stuck there, I am trying to flash cynogen mod, but it wont be a success (it always gives me "installation aborted" , status 7!!).
To get out of the issue, I founf that I should put the stock rom again, but that wont happen!! because I cannot go into download mode (so odin is useless)
what should i do to get out of this loop ??

How are you trying to go into Download mode? What exactly are you doing?
Also, you could try flashing a different recovery from inside CWM. Search for the zip flashable version of TWRP or Philz touch recovery for your device. And always search for the latest version.
Are you sure you have the latest version of CWM on your device? Status error 7 is usually related with an outdated recovery.
I would really be surprised if you couldn't enter download mode, as that is bootloader related and unless you messed with that, should be untouched.
Good luck.

I was stuck in cwm and trying to enter download mode(power + volume down) and also tried flashing different releases of different roms!
However I have been facing a different problem after that!!
While in cwm bootloop, I let my battery drain away. But after that my device is not booting only!!
I tried reconnecting battery ,tried to enter recovery mode ; download mode. But the device is not at all booting!!!!!
I somehow want to enter download mode!!
what is this(is this called bricking??)

So you are saying that your battery drained and your device is not booting. I am guessing you recharged the battery right?
Does the tablet charge when you connect the charger cable? Does is vibrate or does anything appear when you connect the charger or press the power button?
If your tablet is dead no matter what you do and you are sure the battery is charged, then yes.....that is what is known as: brick.
There are several ways to fix this. The easiest would be to try something known as a JIG. It looks like this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ... Accessories-_-Five Star Inc-_-9SIA2C51F93186
This can boot your device in Download Mode just by simply connecting it to the device. Search for Samsung USB JIG on youtube and you will see a lot of examples.
If your bootloader is messed up, that won't work and your only solution is a JTAG. For this, you need to take it to a service repair shop because it involves a device that you most likely do not have and you need to take your device apart.
Good luck.
Hello andreiav,
I am currently in the same problem, messed up. I have not tried JIG or JTAG yet. I took the tab to service centre nearby.
and thry won't hlp me unbricking my phone.Instead they say that JTAG can be used ONLY and ONLY when phone is alive (active condition, i.e. not dead), I suspect that it's not true.(I think JTAG can OBVIOUSLY used in dead phone!) They say my power ic is damaged, and my motherboard is damaged. I am pretty sure that just a rooting failure won't damage my motherboard. Also as you said, my phone is hard bricked (which even came to conclusion when I did diagnose ). I have a question, can JTAG not be used on dead phone??? that can motherboard get damaged this way??
P.S. : service centre guys are not trustworthy here in my country.
Thanks in advance
Please guys, my galaxy S2 SHW-M20K (Korean) is in trouble.
I bought it from a 2nd hand shop , and it was runing Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean (rooted stock rom). I had no problem with it till today when I tried to install "CWM Recovery", After searching the web i found a post with two files that supposedly could do the task. These files are:
1. CWM_KT_M250K.tar
2. Tegrak-Kernel-Build-39-for-SHW-M250K-UE18.tar
Using Odin, I triedd the first file but it couldn't work, and the phone could not boot so i downloaded the "rooted factory firmware" and flashed the phone. Everything was ok. Later I tried the second file. Again the phone could not boot and stuck at the logo with a yellow triangle. After waiting for about 5 minutes I tried to shut it down by pressing the power button it did'nt respond. (Now this is a point that I regret), I removed the battery as a way of forcing to turn it off.
Now my phone cannot boot. It doesn't respond to power button, neither does it allow me to enter recovery mode nor download mode. But When i connect to the charger or pc, it start charging and keeps cutting off the charging frequently. But it only allows me to enter download mode when connected to pc. When I tried to flash the "rooted factory firmware", again, the flashing goes smoothly but when the phone starts rebooting it fails as if there is a power cut. Is my battery damaged? Can someone give me a guide on how to fix it?
I need your help gus, I am not an expert in the rootings and roms,
Pardon My English. It's a foreign language to me.

As u mentioned, I think that your phone has gone to a Soft Brick. I don't know much about the Korean build, so Google it to solve the Soft Brick. Try flashing the stock rom via odin but I don't recommend it since it may cause your phone to be hard bricked if not done properly.
So go to the service centre, you'll get more help there

I thank you sir for responding to this. From what you have said, I think the best decision is to take it to Samsung service center. (For I have tried to google it but I couldn't get a solution). I would also like to know if it is repairable, and about the cost, is it worth repairing or should I think of buying a new phone?
I am stranded.

Download stock firmware (like xxxx.tar.md5 full Odin package) of ur device ,enter into Download mode of ur device & flash stock firmware with Odin.
Try this...
Hi all,
So I got soft bricked Samsung Galaxy S6.
Here are the issues:
- The person got it when he tried to root it
- Stuck in boot logo (Samsung S6, Powered by Android) and does not go further
- I can flash original firmware (Vodafone, Australia) through ODIN successfully, but the problem remains
- Cannot access recovery mode, tried to flash both stock recovery and custom (TWRP, all versions available at twrp.me)
- Have tried both Kies3 and SmartSwitch, emergency recovery went smooth, flashed successfully, but the problem remains
- After each successful flashing, I try to boot into recovery mode in order to clear cache, but it does not boot into recovery at all
- Tried all versions of ODIN and used all cables at home
- Another strange behavior, it can power on only when it is connected to cable. So it either stuck or can boot into Download mode when I press combination. But if I disconnect, after some time it switches off and cannot power on unless you connect it to the cable. Does it mean that the person ticked NAND erase as it is also related to energy dependency of the memory? I don't believe it to be battery issues as I saw this issue on another phone too (Samsung A9)
It is weird. I just want to understand, why I am not able to boot into recovery mode even after successful flashing stock ROM?
Any help is appreciated
Hi, I too have similar issue. Would like to know how you got it resolved.

Same issue here, any idea to solve that? (I'm Brazilian, sorry for some typing wrong)
I don't opened the device (yet), but if is a battery issue, someone tried to fix?
My device is SM-G920I, i tried to flash this FW: G920IDVU3FQD1_G920IXSA3FQC3_XSA without sucess, i will try with a "pit" file that i've found here on XDA and update here, but until the moment, the problem remains
Update: The PIT file does not solved the problem, after this I decided to open the device and swap the battery, but the problem remained, i'm buying a new board today, i think this board can't be saved
I've had similar problem with my Note4. It would sucessfuly apply firmware via Odin but refuse to boot. (tried multiple times)
I then did a flash via SmartSwitch (takes forever) but the phone worked again.
any update for this ? i have the same issue
Hi, I've had a rooted android for a couple of years now. Today I wanted to run the new Magisk root so that I could use apps that prevent rooted phones from using them. Following the instructions here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445) I went to SuperSU and clicked 'Wipe Root' which then sent my device into constant bootlooping.
I can only get the blue screen saying 'Odin Mode' and a big down arrow saying 'Downloading... Do not turn off target' or a constant bootlooping.
I followed the instructions here though when I have put the four BL, AP, CP and CSC files and click Start, all that happens is in the log on the left it says: <OSM> All threads completed . (succeed 0/ failed 0). From what I can make out, the Odin software on the laptop is not communicating at all with the Samsung S6 in Download mode.
Could someone please help!

Had to come back and add on to my previous post - I sorted it. It was simply a driver issue... Make sure you download all the correct Samsung USB Drivers people if you're having similar issues...
I finally restored my Android to Stock Android (albeit the latest Android system 7.1).
My Galaxy S7 (SM-G930R4) has decided to not want to boot. I can't boot normally or into recovery. I can only boot into Odin mode.
I've tried to flash stock rom, but it doesn't seem to work. I've heard that I should use the ROM from samsmobile, so I'll try that next.
This all started to happen after I accidentally turned on the phone right before I took the battery out. I put that battery back in and it booted fine, but after a few minutes it rebooted and started to reboot over and over again. It won't even show the charging screen when it is turned off and plugged in.
OK, I tried to flash the stock rom with Odin, but it still is in a boot loop. I've flashed it 3 times. I've firmware files from different sites. It seems that this S7 is dead. Please help!
Try to flash another rom and keep in mind that it sometimes takes up to 10-15 minutes at the first boot.
You could also just flash TWRP...

TWRP for the Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930R4)???
Also, now I've been greeted with the screen that says "An error has occurred while updating the device software." It says to use the Samsung Smart Switch PC software to fix it. Hopefully that works.
Where are you?
What firmware are you using? Branded or unbranded?
Have you looked on Sammobile for the correct firmware?
Are you able to boot into system recovery? Home+VOLUME UP+Power (Not Download)?
Oh you have got the G930R4. I thought G930F.
Then I don't know if there is a TWRP you could flash.
But if there is one you could just flash it and enter recovery mode and install a new ROM from within the TWRP environment.
Check this out.

Sounds like your device is currently bricked anyways, so just give it a try.
Maybe you can get a working TWRP recovery mode again.

I am in the US.
I'm on Android 8.0 (Oreo)
I have a US Cellular Branded phone.
As soon as the phone is turned on, it tries to boot into recovery, but it can't so it keeps on trying over and over again. I've tried the firmware from SamMobile, but nothing seems to work.
When I flash to Stock ROM, and I turn the phone on, it stays in a bootloop of the "Recovery Booting..." screen.
When I flash the rooted Engineering rom, and I turn the phone on, it stays in a bootloop of the Samsung S7 logo. I can't boot into safe mode.
I tried to use Samsung Kies... didn't work... I tried to use Samsung Smart Switch... didn't work... I've tried 3 or 4 different ROMs from different websites.... didn't work.
i have the same problem. was able to enter download mode several times, but at some point it died completely (not charging anymore). how do you manage to take the battery out? does the SM-G930R4 the possibility to easily remove it?

The glass panel on the back is glued onto the phone. If you remove the glass, there are screws and from there, it's easy. I broke the glass in the process... so yay me.
Mine won't charge either. It is completely dead, but it will still turn on when I plug it into my computer.
Really strange. Mine is not turning on, even tried several locations, charger, etc. Once I had download mode while having a black screen. Keep an eye on odin and instantly flash firmware if it got recognized. I press all three buttons while plugging in; that's how it worked the first time for me....
