Tumblr APP - Galaxy Note 10.1 Themes and Apps

So I don't know if anyone knows this or use the tumblr app a lot. But as for those who do use it, you realized that the app is only in portrait mode and no landscape. That bothered me a lot cause it is weird holding the Note 10.1 portrait, but that's just me. Anyways I found out you can actually make the app work in portrait mode with our Multi Window Manager from the app store. Sadly you need to use the pro version to do this. But for those who have the pro version like me you can make an app shortcut via Mult Window and set the app in landscape mode. All you have to do is:
1.) Long press the Home Screen
2.) Go to Shortcuts
3.) Scroll down the the App Multi Window Manager Shortcut
4.) Check on custom size
5.) Set the Length or the first one to 770
6.) The second one should be 1280
7.) Save it
8.) And Voila the Tumblr app is now in landscape mode
------------------------------------------------------------------------
FYI- This works on any other app that only has portrait view like Instagram, only app I could not get to work was the Cnet app.

I am not sure if this is connected, but after doing this once, Tumblr app now starts in ugly mode: half of screen - menu (left side), half of screen - posts, videos...(right side)
Even after deleting MWM

Are you holding that in portrait mode? This is meant for landscape.

Sorry! This all happened because of last update

One Hand mode shortcut

Hi
I want to create a shortcut for one hand mode (3x home button) so that it is an action like "back" on the navigation bar so that I can put it in my swiftly switch pro menu and access one hand mode with a single action instead of pressing the home button 3x.
Any ideas how to do that? (I just switched from iPhone to Android and am a newbie)

Hi man. I'm from Russia, firmware may differ. But I have a choice: a jesture or a 3-push of a button. I prefer jesture.
To make it work you should swype diagonally from edge of screen (down and right edge). Also, if you hold a bit longer, you can change the size of the screen (bigger / less). See "One-handed mode Galaxy s8" on YouTube
It is completely legitimate to make a shortcut button or icon to one hand mode instead of thosr cumbersome gestures.
Here is how to do it :
Simply run this terminal command from any method or script '
am startservice -n com.sec.android.easyonehand/.EasyOneHandService
This works on the galaxy s5. This rune the service to activate the one hand mode.

There is, at least according to my intense research and my logic, no way to open directly an app in pop-up mode. Indeed even Samsung doesn't have a shortcut for this, at least not at my knowledge.
But, it is possible to launch the multi window launcher and then launch an app from here in terminal with root :
am startservice com.sec.android.app.FlashBarService/.MultiWindowTrayService
This command is only for the launcher. Normally there should also be a terminal command to put the currently on-screen app in pop-up, just like the slide from corner gesture.

Yes and no, what I mean is that the app is not directly launched in pop-up because you need the extra step of opening the side launcher.
One way is as I did, to replace the home button with the side launcher (1 tap = side launcher, 2 taps = home screen) , it is possible with Nova Launcher.
What would be equally perfect is to find a way to open the app directly in pop-up with an activity on the home screen or, once the app is launched thanks to Tasker for example force the app to go in pop-up automatically. It must be possible because the side corner swipe to put the app in pop-up is simply an activity or service or some thing of some sort, but I haven't manage to find the command line.

On this android version it is easier because there are root apps in Play store or in Xposed to manage this, isn't there? I think a saw few apps claiming to manage multiwindow for this version.

Open camera in Pro Mode

As we all know, the camera app opens in Auto mode by default. There's no option to select it to use Pro Mode by default. We can put a shortcut on the homescreen to open Pro Mode, but there's not way to set that shortcut on the lockscreen or activate via double-press power. Sometimes if the camera is still in memory, it'll open from the lockscreen still in Pro Mode, but not reliably. So I'm wondering what we can figure out to "hack" this a bit to make Pro Mode open automatically when the camera app opens.
1. Tasker is my first inclination. But we need the Pro Mode setting/toggle/switch/activity/whatever to be exposed for Tasker to use. It's not, as far as I can tell.
2. Actually what's weird is there are no activities within the camera app to start Pro Mode. But without that activity, how is the homescreen shortcut created?
3. Is there a macro that can be created to turn on Pro Mode when camera is launched?
4. How can we put that Pro Mode shortcut on the lockscreen?
5. Is there a way to build a very basic app that does what the Pro Mode homescreen shortcut does? Then we could set it as a lockscreen shortcut. Ideally this would not require root. Basically an app that triggers the shortcut that launches the camera in Pro Mode.
Any other ideas?
Tagging @zeroprobe since he is our most knowledgeable contributor for the S7 camera.
It would be nice if Samsung made a proper shortcut but this seems to work in a convoluted kind of way.
Okay, so we’ll need a few things to make this work.
Tasker - paid app
Tasker plugin Autoshortcut – paid app with a 7 day trial
I made a task that uses Autoshortcut to click a place on my home screen. This place is the physical location of the Pro Mode Camera shortcut I made from the camera app. The most reliable way to determine the on screen location was to turn on “Show Pointer Location” in Developer Options. With that option turned on I was able to find out the X/Y coordinates for the physical location of the Pro Mode Camera shortcut on my screen. I am aware that If I move my shortcut to another spot this whole thing will fall apart.
With the X/Y coordinates in hand I continued with the Autoinput task. Manual mode worked best for me:
--
Type: Point
Value: 1000,730 (the X/Y coordinates of the shortcut on my screen)
Nearby text: Pro (this is the name of the pro mode shortcut)
Action: Click
--
When I tested my task I found that it wasn’t reliable because the shortcut wasn’t pressed every time. To fix this I added a delay task to my task of 66 ms (I was going for 50 but got lazy).
I also thought that I needed to ensure I was at the right screen before doing all this. In my case the shortcut is placed on my “main” home screen.
My task now looks like this:
1) Go Home, page 0
2) Wait 66 ms (not sure if this step is actually needed)
3) AutoInput Action,
Type: Point
Value: 1000,730
Nearby text: Pro
Action: Click
Then I found a premade profile, "AutoInput Multi-Press", and task, "Key Press Timer", written by /u/Ratchet_Guy (a Mod on /r/tasker) that addressed the double, triple, quadruple, etc clicking of buttons. This profile and task is great and also needs the plugin AutoInput. I imported the profile and task and added my camera task with AutoInput Action at the end of the “Key Press Timer”.
https://www.reddit.com/r/tasker/comments/5hkelp/how_to_trigger_tasks_on_hardware_button/
So now when I double click the volume down button it launches my pro mode camera shortcut.
Then I thought of your requirement to add this to a shortcut on the lockscreen. I downloaded the Tasker App Factory app and generated an app from my pro camera task. I put this app on the lockscreen and it works 90 % of the time. Sometimes it gets confused and launches the regular camera.

I will 250% try this on my phone. But out of curiosity, is it possible to do the same with other software? Perhaps Automate?

New idea: who can make this an app?

Would be awesome if we can really have full control on screen orientation. The default system rotation (even on Android 10) is still super annoying.
Here goes my idea:
Let's just put it that way, the system auto rotation should always turned on for the app to work.
By default, your (new) app has to always display a floating button with unlocked status (i.e. allow system auto rotation to work as usual, don't interrupt). Only when user wanted to lock the current orientation, be it portrait or landscape, then user can click on the floating button once, which will then turned into a locked icon, and the current orientation is locked.
For example, user would like to always browse Chrome in portrait mode, he can click on the floating button to lock it to portrait and won't be bothered of system rotates the phone when he/she lie on the bed or sofa. Then he opens youtube and go through a list of recommended/popular videos in portrait mode (locked earlier), and selected a video to watch, now he/she wants to watch it in landscape, so what he should do is just click again on the floating button, and then it unlocks portrait and now he can use the auto rotate to put the video in landscape mode, and click once again on the floating button to lock the current orientation in landscape! That's it, perfect solution for the annoying system rotation.
Imagine how simple and easy is this and I can't figure out why Google or Apple does not incorporate this in their OS, or perhaps their next version of Android/iOS? lol
Optional (Nice to have features)
You can make the app to always show locked floating button (to let user know current orientation is locked), and only hide the unlocked button after 5 seconds of inactivity/idle. To unhide or call it, user just has to slide from edges to make the floating button visible again and he/she can now click once to lock desired orientation.

Question Any way to fix "resize" functionality?

I'm using the P11 (not the pro) and when I press the resize button with the Lenovo keyboard, it simply goes back to the home page or crashes the smart launcher. It never resize an app from window to full screen and vice versa
Also - when I try to press on the screen the "resize" button on any app's bar (when the app supports it) - it doesn't do anything.
Is there a fix for that? I'm already on the latest update.
Are you talking about when productivity mode is enabled and you want to make the current window 'full screen'?
Exactly!
I've got no issues - on the apps that support it. The apps that don't support it won't "do anything". Firefox expands, minimizes no issue. Plex won't work with it at all, for instance.

dex nor smart view no longer working as advertised [fold3]

[sp1a.210812.016.f926u1ues1dvg3] a few months ago both worked. now when i try to dex to my fire-tv or roku i see the butterfly-flower background image with app icons on the top left of the television screen. i used to press the recent apps overlay button and there was a 4th button to use as a trackpad (no more). so i cant run any apps on the t.v.
also smart view no longer mirrors my cellular-telefones screen. when it first connects i see my fone screen/widgets on the t.v. for half a second and then immediately the screen flashes to the butterfly-flower background image (no app icons but a small white dot on the bottom rite). i can cast videos but i cant mirror. i tried opening email app on my fone and selecting app cast but it makes the email app into a smaller window on my fone but no change on the t.v.
