are u sure we have to set it to 140 and not 240?

yeah if you set to 240 every thing will be looking big and ugly
you can try 140 and less than that maybe 120 it will work

u can set lcd density to 158 and u dont have to restart ur mobile after setting the density to 158

:good::good::good:

I can just edit the build.prop than installing the app right ??

Absolutely, it can't be easier than typefresh, just a simple but perfect application...you need andexplorer too, but both are free...

i too stick to Typefresh ...
TypeFresh doesn't seem to work for all, at least for me. ie: why i tried this way and it give me a success. In this way you guys can change the default ringtones, startup screen and can make so many customization.

It's mentioned HERE that the RootExplorer method works as like you said TypeFresh doesn't work for all, but for those that it does it's the quickest and easiest way.

Can you give me a brief description, how to edit DroidSansFallback? (Win/OS X)
I'd like to add wingdings.ttf to it, so symbols on webpages an e-mails are shown correctly if they embed wingdings typos.

Right click, rename, done, the same as you edit the others.
That would replace it. But I want wingdings to be there beside all stock types. So I was thinking of merging DroidSansFallback with wingdings.
i'm sticking with typefresh
Font changer lite works well on freex 10 2.2.1. Found type fresh didn't work for me and found this. It's free on market
sent from my Commodore 64
Absolute system works well and has the fonts to apply
sent from my Commodore 64
Sorry but for me Type Fresh also the easiest way.

Pixel Density or Screen Resolution

I'm coming from the xperia 1 (for which i was a chef for some time) and just recently bought the sensation xe, so i'm pretty much a noob in android.
My question is .... is it possible to lower the resolution or pixel density to boost performance on the Sensation xe ?
sorry if this was asked before but i didn't find anth similar around
Yea use a dpi changer from market or prop modder app.
Or you can edit the build.prop file with root explorer or such.....

And does it really improve performance ?
I've got problem with DPI Changer. I've set DPI to 160 and rebooted phone and now Sense is FCing all the time and I can't change DPI to default value. Is there any possible to change DPI to default value? I'cant turn on any application - there is no working launcher.
Rom is Android Revolution HD 6.2.1 (ICS 4.0.3)
easy, edit build.prop in /system
ro.sf.lcd_density=240
240 is default
But how I can get the access to build.prop? I can't open file manager. Can I change it from my PC by connecting phone with the cable?
use droid explorer, boot into recovery-->mount /system-->start droid explorer-->edit file
I think I'm doing something wrong - when I edit file in droid explorer, every time I save changes, close ando open again, the value is again 160.
copy first on desktop, make all changes and delete the file on smartphone and copy from desktop to smartphone! reboot
It's working now. Thanks, You're great
you're welcome

System font question

The rom I'm using doesn't have a built in font changer or anything like that. So I just found the font I want, renamed it to the default system font (DroidSans or whatever) and placed it in the /system/fonts folder. That worked fine. However, it changed the layouts of some of the menus in certain apps, presumably because the font is bigger. The only method I could find to change the size of it (without using 3rd party apps) was to edit the density in the build.prop file. So I changed it from 240 to 220. And, of course, it worked. The only problem I have now is that it won't let me see hardly any of the apps in the play store because it doesn't think they are formatted for my phone.
Is there a better way to go about changing the font? Or the font size? Or is there a workaround to where I can edit the LCD density in the build.prop file but not have it affect what apps I can see in the market?
What ROM are you using?

Senseless Energy. Correct me if I'm wrong about it not having a font changer or anything? I didn't see it.
No neither version has a working font changer. In the past if I found a ROM with a font I like, I would copy the system/font folder and paste it into the system folder of the ROM before flash. Where did you get the font you want to use?
Edit: Which version of Senseless are you using? I'll flash it and try to help you get what you want.

You can use rom toolbox free to change fonts
About the play store, there are modded gapps floating around that dont check your density to determine your compatibility with certain apps, so you might wanna check that out
I think pimp my Rom has a font changer too.

I'm using the latest version 2 of the ROM. I could probably swap the fonts out before flashing it but I guess my problem is editing the font size to fit like I want.

I was trying to do it without a third party app but I guess that's going to be the easiest route! Once I change it with either of the apps mentioned, would it stick if I uninstalled the app?
Also thanks for the heads up on the modified gapps I will look into that.
I used ROM Toolbox and it actually had the font I wanted inside it. So I changed my font, I went back and edited my density in the build.prop file, and everything is back to normal, no worries with apps in the playstore. And the changes stuck after I uninstalled it. :good::good::good:

Yup, basically it just gives you a catalog to choose from and then installs it into /system/fonts
Glad you got it sorted.

I used Root Explorer to edit the build.prop's last line.
Default density was 210, I changed it to 188.
Remember, latest Kernel patch restores Original Density.
So, If you want, I can give you step by step instructions.
thanks

I Have also dialer problem.. so please help step by step how to changed density...
Dude, for gallery and music items to show, you have to wait for a while.
And regarding density, follow these steps:
1.Download and Install Root Explorer Or your favorite app which can access system files.
2. Go to Root/System and Mount it R/W (Rewritable)
3. Open build.prop file using text editor.
4.Scroll to last line of the file, if there is a line like 'ro.sf.lcd_density=<value>' then alter '<value>' to your suitable DPI (I'm Using 188 DPI). If there is no line like above, then simply add one.
5. Save the file and 'Normal Reboot' your handset.
6.Voila!
Or, You can download ROM toolbox and use the build.prop editor to do the same!!

iFont, change fonts in our Mi4

Hello to everyone,
I want to share with you this awesome tip that i can found in the miui forum (thanks to sianman)
If you don't like the fonts in the miui theme store, you can add more with the iFont app (you can find it on PlayStore)
Follow the step:
1. Launch the iFont app.
2. Find and tap the font you would like to install.
3. Tap Download.
4. Tap Set.
5. On the Setting font prompt, tap OK.
The amazing feature it's that than you have tap OK immediately the MIUI Themes app start automatically, and you need to go on Category > Component > Font and select the font already download with iFont.
Tap Apply and reload the phone to see the changes.
In miui V6, I download the font but when I try to apply it on the themes app, It directs to xiaomi servers and try to match order şnfo and payment. Any ideas for that ?
