on linux you should run adb as root then it would work , if using eclipse , run it using root user .. and it would also detect phone then..

how to change device type/signature ?

Hi,
I purchased a new tablet for my son to play games on, and when I visit market, few games say: "This software is not compatible with your device"
It says RDR at the back and I think it could be this device: https://www.rdr.mx/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=10 , though I am not sure if its 7 or 7.1
So is there any way to change the device signature, or an alternate way to download games from market and install in the device.
The device runs on Android 2.3 and I have already rooted the device.
Thanks,

Well, my first guess would be to get a "cracked" apk of the game, but that's not something I would strongly support. The other alternative is editing the build.prop located in the system/ directory. That's where ur device's "identity" is stored. You will need to figure out what device is compatible to the game u are trying to run and edit the build.prop to reflect that.

not working
unable to execute the binary file. did chmod on the file.. still not working. is the binary from 64bit linux os?. I am using Ubuntu 12.04 32bit version..
See d following output:
$ ./CM_tool
bash: ./CM_tool: cannot execute binary file
$ sudo chmod a+x CM_tool
$ ./CM_tool
bash: ./CM_tool: cannot execute binary file
Yes this is a 64bit binary.

I can build this tool for 32bit systems but the problem is that this tool config all your OS to be ready to build AOSP so i think that to build AOSP in 32bit you need some other deb packages, i will work on this and port this APP to 32bit but i cant test it because i only have 64bit systems here @ my home. I will work on this tomorow and when its complete i will post it here for tests.

I've just checked in AOSP website...
"For Gingerbread (2.3.x) and newer versions, including the master branch, a 64-bit environment is required. Older versions can be compiled on 32-bit systems."
So there is no point in porting this to 32bit unless some one explain me how to set up ubuntu 32bits to build AOSP 2.3.x+.

Yes the problem solved because after i check on usb debugging there are 2 pop up notifications
i always missed the last one which tells you that you have to permit this computer always.
when i accept then the offline status has gone.

Doesnt work for me. It pops up the cmd prompt really fast with blue text and I cant read what it says causes it shuts down real quick.
D: is my Windows installed drive.
C: is my data drive.
I looked in the root of D: and adb-tools is not there.
I have XP home sp3.
I also looked at my environment variable and it isnt there either.
Plus, I want to ask how your tool handles people that don't have a C: drive? (Why not use the systemroot variable instead?)
I also want to know if I can integrate this into the tool in my signature once this thing works for me?

Oh I didn't script it for use on Win XP sorry my bad (That's why in Tittle say Win 7-8 )
But is supposed to work there too. You have issues with your command prompt I've seen this before. You need to fix it going into Microsoft site or Google for it. Then try again.

[Guide] [How to] Run windows or mac os on your android.[no root needed]

Hi friends,
This is a guide that help you to run the windows on your android phone.
.
I have tested this by myself using a low end arm6 600mhz with 256Mb ram qvga (240x320) display device and a high end 1.5Ghz phone with 1 Gb ram and 720p display.
Both works well( It took about 5min to boot ) So this will work on almost every android device.
.
Just download the file using the link, extract the SDLApp.apk and install it.
.
Then extract the SDL folder to the root On your phone. (mnt/sdcard/here)Then you're done !!!
.
Open the app "lib sdl"and wait...(may take about 1~20 min to boot into win95)
.
If you want to try to run applications or
access your SD Card within windows create a
folder called HDD in the root of your SDcard
and put whatever you want in there. You can use that foldr as your Hard disk.
.
Ok enjoy !!!
.
Link-(55mb)
http://www.mediafire.com/download/8m9jooa00gqjdfz/qemu.zip
Run windows 1 on your android.
Have you ever used windows one?
Try it on your phone.
.
You have to download " AnDOSbox "or "aDosBox" from play store.
.
Download windowsone.img
.
Place it in root of your sdcard (mnt/sdcard/here)
.
Open AnDOSbox/aDosBox app.
.
Type command "boot windowsone.img"
and press enter button.
.
Enjoy...
.
Leave me a small thank also
Run old mac os on your phone
Updating post
Place the file "vMac.ROM" in "minivmac" directory in your SD Card.
Disk images should have .img or .dsk
extensions, and be located in "minivmac"
directory in your SD Card for them to show up
in the disk chooser.
Leave me a small thank also
