[Q] Pls Help! Phone Stuck in Landscape mode! - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hi, I don't know why my phone is doing this but it's stuck in landscape mode. The only fix that i have found is that it operates normally when I have it charged in anyway via outlet/computer. I know the gyroscope is not broken because it works normally when charged. How can i fix this Any suggestions is much appreciated!!

After flashing twrp Factory reset in bootloader simply corrupts your SD card and does nothing else.
You should flash twrp 2.3.3.1 and then mount SD card, format it as it will be listed as an unusable drive.
Then factory reset in twrp.

Ok sorry for taking a while, Here's what I've done: I did what you asked and it still stuck in landscape. I then tried flashing the rom to Viper 3.2.7 thinking that the previous rom could be at fault. Still no success.

If you're soff, ruu then while stock see if its still happening.
If not s-off, soff then ruu. Then while stock see of its still happening.

I'm currently trying to s-off my phone using the facepalm method. However, I am repeatedly getting the error "Cannot load PJ8312000-OneX.zip: Unknown Error" I've also tried Hasoon's One click, but that's currently missing some files right for the s-off.

Is the PJ8312000-OneX.zip in your folder with adb and fastboot?

yes the PJ file and the soffbat are both in the DIR.

Redownload the file and try again, could be a bad download. If the same thing happens, paste your CMD in here so I can have a looksee.

Phone may have shorted pins in usb port forcing it in to car mode?
Or jammed/broken sensors...
However hopefully a software kick in the butt is the answer.

The instructions to Soff said to extract the soffbin3 not the PJ8312000-OneX.zip. They are all in the same folder. I'm kinda afraid it's a hardware problem but i know for sure the gyroscope works when it is using an external power source.

Yeah, you dont unzip PJ8312000-OneX.zip
Try doing fastboot erase cache, then try flashing it again. Tell me what happens.

Bricked Htc One S, stuck in bootloader and Clockwork recovery

Hi everyone,
i am so very new to this. here it goes. I tried to root my HTC One S and install cm9. well the root worked. I installed the cm9 rom. that looked like it worked too. so i went to turn the phone on and it booted up ok, showed the cm9 boot up animation, then the screen went completly white and stayed like that. well i booted up into clockworkmod recovery, did a factory reset (i also did a factory reset/clear storage in bootloader), and accidentally erased everything, i think. stock rom, cm9 everything. now i can only get the phone to boot up into the bootloader or clockworkmod recovery. so i think its bricked. it tried to install the tmobile ruu and that failed. idk what to do, im really nervous i wont be able to get my phone back. cwmr also says it cant mount sd card..when i plugged the phone in to the computer, devices menu says android and sometimes it says ville. If someone is able to give me step by step instructions on how to fix this, i would greatly appreciate it because i am freaking out. I have seen the term flash around the forums idk what that means or how to do it. i also tried forcing a new rom thru adb and that didnt work. i really dont know what to do at this point. I would greatly appreciate it, if someone can help me with this.
Thanks
Frank
My guess would be: flash the stock recovery via fastboot.
Then get a RUU and install it. (and you probably just had the white screen because u didn´t flash boot.img).

try to relock your bootloader with the all in one toolkit and after that, while your phone is in fastboot usb mode with the bootloader reloked, install the offial ruu for your phone. Try to find the download of the original ruu, it is an exe file, when you run it the phone must be connected in fastboot usb, if everything goes fine the phone should be back to stock.
Ok I will try tonight. Hopefully it works.

You can find boot.img inside the ROM zip file

Htc One S bricked
Hi im relatively new at rooting and am currently experiencing issues with a bricked device.
i have two htc one s devices
my personal one is running cm10 ville with clockwork touch recovery and is working perfectly
however the second one i was using the same exact files.
this one is bricked
its in a constant bootloop.
i can get back to my recovery just fine and get to the fastboot in the phone fine
i cleared my cache
wiped my data and wiped the dalvik cache all perfectly fine when i try to flash the cm10 official rom back on it cannot mount the sd card
i would try to install a different recovery and try again maybe using viper one s
but i cannot get the phone to power on
it doesnt showup on the computer when it is plugged in while in fastboot
when i try the cmd fastboot flash recovery it says waiting for device
any advice. this is not my own phone so i need it repaired pretty quickly.
any helpful information would be much appreciated.

make a nandroid and sdcard bu NOW and put them on pc,
obviously leave a copy of nandroid on phone also
makes it a lot easier if you get in trouble again

Mounts and Storage --> Format everything --> Now Mount USB Drive --> Put Gapps and ROM
Flash it, erase cache & and Dalvik...Blah blah blah. Flash boot.img in fastboot, and there you go.

[Q] TWRP/NO OS - ROGERS - Searching forums and nothing!

I have been reading for the last couple weeks, thinking I have an answer and end up further into the hole.
Rogers HTC One X / EVITA / HBOOT 2.14. / 2.4 TWRP initially, now 2.6 / Unlocked boot loader / s-on
1. Started trying to flash AOKP 4.2.2. Flashed boot.img, then followed with TWRP recovery. All I could get was the language screen and then it stalled. Tried numerous iterations of this with various wipes and flash first and flash after.
2. Next tried Viper 3.2.7. All good till it gets to startup screen then it stops (I understand Viper has its boot.img installed to start not needing it flashed).
3. While trying various wipes to see if it would install completely I mistakenly did a factory reset! Now no OS! No Nandroid! No ROM.zip!
4. To get a ROM on SDCard tried ADB sideload thru TWRP. after running script it says unable to mount SDCARD! Suggests I reboot system! Now a little leery of rebooting for fear it will not.
5. Also tried to MOUNT HTV via TWRP on to laptop. Did not recognize said ti initialize. Formatted FAT 32 (via MAC). Now will not mount SD Card. I did drop Viper.zip into mount (cache and system OK) but can not find it using FILE MANAGER via TWRP
6. Now am in BOOTLOADER screen of Android. Thought I could flash a ROM but from what I read it does not look possible.
Can any one point me in the right direction to get this thing up and running. At this point, as much as I am learning all the time, it does me no good having my phone down for two weeks (sure glad I kept my Nexus One).
Any answer at this stage is a good answer and I appreciate all input!
Thanks
D
Sounds like you did a factory reset in bootloader which corrupts the sd card after unlocking the bootloader. You used to be able to just mount it on pc and format it but after the jb update I don't think that's possible due to the drive no longer being a mass storage device but an mtp device instead. There was a method to fix it developed by team nocturnal but it looks like the site is inaccessible right now. I'll see if there's a way to fix it and get back to you. Bear with me.
[/COLOR]By any chance have you tried wiping sd card in twrp 2.6?
Also, have done SuperCID yet?

SuperCID has not been done. It is S-ON presently.
I wiped SD Card as suggested. Saw it set up partitions. And now TWRP shows up when I mount . Can I just drop a ROM in and flash via TWRP? Any suggestions for a ROM. Could not get AOKP 4.2.2 to run or Viper 3.2.7.
Thanks for the quick assist at getting it to MOUNT.
Flash a stock sense rom and then fastboot flash boot boot.img extracted from the rom. Then use jet to downgrade hboot and SuperCID and then s-off. It'll save you lots of headaches.

In twrp 2.6 the factory reset wipes everything except sd card and system. You don't have to wipe system but I always do when I'm flashing a new rom.

[Q] HTC One X bricked

Can somebody help me?
I just bricked my One X, I had it rooted with recovery, the original Rom, I just tried to install an app to modify fonts and it bricked.
At first it stopped in the screen of HTC one and beats audio, atying to recover it I think I messed things up, because now It stopps in HTC quietly brilliant (sorry for my english). It does not recognize it my PC in fastboot and it does not have enough battery charge.
Can please anybody help me? I'd appreciate any advice!
Thanks!
If it turns on it's not bricked, get it to bootloader, then into recovery, and put it on charge for a while.
Also, you need to tell us exactly what you did to try to recover it, so we know what we're dealing with.

It turns on, it stops in the HTC screen, it also gets into recovery, I tried to recover it, trying to erase cache, but it did not work, then I tried a factory reset, with no results. HBOOT does not recognize it in my PC.
Do you still have a ROM on your sd card? You could do a full wipe (cache/dalvik/factory reset/system) and flash it again.
You mentioned you did a factory reset, if you did that in recovery you're fine but if you did it in bootloader you've corrupted your sd card and it will need to be formatted.
In that case you will need to work out why your pc isn't recognizing your phone. Make sure you have the correct drivers installed, then you can mount the phone in recovery and format it in Windows. And if need be copy a ROM across to flash.

Installing adb/fastboot is simple, have a look here. Also go to htc.com and go to the download section on the One XL page, and download the latest HTC Sync. Install that and you'll have the right drivers.
Secondly, you might need to try a different usb cable and/or usb port to get your pc to recognise your phone.

Installing adb/fastboot is simple, have a look here.
Secondly, you might need to try a different usb cable and/or usb port to get your pc to recognise your phone.

I've just been assuming you have the Evita this whole time because you're posting in the Evita forum.
Before we go any further we need to identify your device. Boot into bootloader and tell us what it says, Evita or Endeavour?

[Q] HTC One X (AT&T) Won't Turn on

Hi,
I am new to rooting the device. I rooted HTC One X (AT&T) using toolkit by Hasoon2000. I followed all the steps as per my knowledge. Everything went good rooting the device, But when I tried to flash CM 10.1 it was giving me failure error. When I did second time it gave me same error but somehow I thought ROM got flashed and went ahead and flashed kernel. While doing so my cell phone battery was till 50% but once I flashed kernel. Suddenly screen went blank and couldn't turn it on. When try to go into fastboot mode it lights up red led and once and stays there until I hit the power button. After hitting power button it shows the HTC logo and displays the message below logo about device being used for development. then within a second screen gets turned off (no red LED) I tried to keep for charging for at least an hour or so with computer as well as on AC power but results are same. Neither I am able to connect it to computer or charge it. I don;t know what is going on with my device. So please can someone help me with this issue? I would really appreciate if this issue been resolved.
Thanks in Advance.

I don't remember Hboot version. Is there any way I can I find that out as my phone is dead. But S-ON was there all the time even after unlocking bootloader.
Thanks.

Flash TWRP 2.6 if you're not using that version already.
fastboot flash recovery twrpfilename.img
Download cm 10.1 Check md5 to make sure download was good. Also, make sure you're downloading the one for our device. Link will be in original android dev section.
wipe everything (except sd card) in twrp 2.6
then flash cm 10.1
If you get an error, tell me what the error is.

Thanks you very much exad. Is it important to have S-OFF? Can I install android 4.3 ROM on HTC One X. Have you tried that? How can I check md5 to make sure CM is good?
S-off allows you to ruu without bricking.
Yes. I am running android 4.3 cm 10.2 right now. There have been bricks reported though that issue should be fixed now.
Use an md5 checker program. Google md5 checker.

I have flashed openrecovery-twrp-2.6.0.1-m7.img but when I want to go to recovery it is still sticking on that HTC logo screen, giving message in red and getting it off. I don't know what I can do to go in recovery and do the needful.
Could you also provide me link to instruction to install CM 10..2 with that as well?
Thanks

If you are able to boot into recovery, then you should be able to use the command <code> adb push <code>to copy any file from your current directory in computer to the sdcard

Even after installing TWRP 2.6 I am not able to flash the ROM. It is saying:

Wrong ROM. You have evita not endeavour.
Look before you download and flash wrong recovery and ROM because you are on track to brick your device. You have burnt 2 of your lives already.
You have no idea how lucky you are as your device should already be broken.

Ok. But listen to what Twisteddx said just before, take your time and make sure you're only flashing things meant for your device. He was right, you're EXTREMELY lucky you haven't bricked your phone yet. Only download ROMs from within this forum!

If you are s-on you need to extract the boot.img from the rom you're flashing and fastboot flash boot boot.img or it won't boot. With S-off this step is no longer required.
