The widescreen 16:9 and 16:10 formats used for the majority of Android tablets are, in my opinion, not the optimal solution for the tablet environment. It is either too wide or too narrow, especially with the inclusion of the navigation bar, and really only shines when watching widescreen video. As far as apps go, 4:3 is vastly superior aspect ratio for everything else (web browsing, email, etc).
I thought it might be nice to have a list of all the (worthwhile) 4:3 aspect ratio Android tablets available for those who feel the same way I do, since there doesn't seem to be one. I will start with a list of the ones I know about, and I hope you all will chime in with more.

Idea USA CT802.
As a new user I can't post links here. You;ll have to Google for it.
Similarly to the Eken A90 it has an Allwinner A10, 1G ram, 16G onboard storage and an SD slot, and is 9.7" and 1024x768. The manufacturer's site is wrong; it's not a Vivante GC800. The site also used to incorrectly list bluetooth. It does have GPS, which is not listed on the site. Actually, when I google up pictures of an Eken A90 mine looks exactly identical except for the logo and a few button labels--same buttons in the same places, same ports, same design with cameras in front and back and speaker on the back (wouldn't putting it on the front make more sense?).
The tablet's company is headquartered in the US and it's supposedly designed in the US by someone with a non-Chinese name, but the tablet is made in China and the manufacturer's web site has typical bad English of a normal Chinese web site. How someone managed to "design" a tablet identically to a tablet by another manufacturer, I don't know.
The tablet is an older model and seems to have been replaced by the CT920 which is also 1024x768.
The tablet comes pre-rooted. I don't know if the CT920 also comes rooted.
Thanks for this thread! it will be very useful! I also really home someone will soon produce a 4:3 hires tablet, like the ipad.
I dont get why google made the nexus 10 16:10...
Do they expect customer to just watch movies with a 10 inches tablet??
I'm glad to see other Android users recognize the 4:3 aspect ratio is superior for tablets. If I could get an Android iPad mini with a high res display, I'd be elated.

Archos just announced one called the Titanium.
Incidentally, my CT802 started dying. The screen keeps acting as though the top is being touched even when it's not.
I tried researching other 4:3 tablets. Apparently there's contradictory information about the CT920 and most (but not all) of the information on Idea USA' site says that it's not 4:3.
HP touchpad. Also has tons of support for ROMs. I'm running jellybean on it right now and it works flawlessly.

It also comes with GooglePlay preinstalled [although the official website states they are still searching for Google approval], and GetJar.
I liked a lot the 4:3 form factor, and also I liked that once connected to the computer I could see its memory as a disk drive, as opposed to Asus tf300t where you can navigate only through Windows Explorer. Skype, eReaders, video streaming, games, etc. worked excelent.
The only reason I didn't keep this tablet was that its display's fidelity was not quite great, otherwise it think it has the best cost-benefit ratio on the market.
Karbonn ST10 also aspect ratio of 4:3
Anyone compared comic reading on 16:10 and 4:3 tablets?
Used to have an asus transformer, but I always read comics in landscape because I find the 10 inch 16:10 screen to be to narrow.
Add Karbonn Smart Tab 8 to the list too.
1.5 GHz dual core Cortex A9 processor
1 GB RAM
Mali 400MP GPU
Stock Android 4.1 onboard
3.2 MP back camera and a primary camera is also present.
I reup this thread because i'm looking for a 4:3 tablet, and in these days are going out the Acer Iconia A1 7,9" 4:3 (interesting device imho)

I recentlY bought the Lenovo S2109 refurbished from the Lenovo outlet (US) for 160USD plus tax. It's a fantastic price, even though the specs are decidedly 2011 at best. It's running 4.0 and the ROM community is basically non existent, but I love it. OMAP 4430 isn't the fastest , but I generally only do web browsing and PDF a magazine reading and it performs those tasks very well. Unlike the 16:10 A2109 model, this product has more or less been discontinued by Lenovo and won't see further updates. I doubt it'll be on the market for much longer.
I really hope there will be another 4:3 tablet (Android or x86 Windows) sometime soon. After using a 16:10 tablet for so long, and comparing it to a 4:3, I completely understand Apple's decision To go with the former.
If your resolution is significantly higher in one direction than the other, your tablet is not 4:3, so 90% of these suggestions are false.

Not sure what you mean. Figuring out whether a tablet is 4:3 or not isn't rocket science , it's literally the division of the pixel height by the pixel width. The most common 4:3 resolutions on tablets are 1024x768 and 2048x1536. I don't think ive seen any tablets in this thread that aren't 4:3.
