May be you need to flash boot image again.
Extract boot.img from custom or stock rom(whichever you use) and paste it in othe fastboot folder.
Hold down volume down key+power key and you should boot into bootloader.
Choose fastboot(using powerbutton).
Connect your phone to pc(ensure that proper drivers are installed).
Now 'fastboot' should turn to ;fastboot usb' in your phone. If it doesn't, drivers are not installed.
Hold down shift in the folder where you have fastboot.exe and boot.img and right click on any empty space.
Click on open command prompt here.
Type fastboot devices
If something comes up,your device is connected and you can proceed. Else check your connection.
Type fastboot flash boot boot.img.
It would take a few seconds and you have your boot image flashed.
Type fastboot reboot.
Try if this works for you.

My HBoot version is 1.27.0000
You don't need to be s off for flashing a boot image.
All you require is boot.img file,a pc and your device.

my phone is stucked on the htc startup screen after installing a custom rom. Ive waited about an hour but it does not boot. Ive look around searching for a solution and ive found the following proccess but since i am a noob i dont know what it is talking about so can anyone explain in detail what to do?
Dont know where to get fasboot from or android SDK
What i found:
1. Extract boot.img from CyanogenMod zip file and move it in the same folder as your fastboot.exe (Android SDK)
2. Flash Cyanogen as usual using recovery (don't forget to wipe/format)
3. Boot into fastboot mode, connect your phone to your PC and flash boot.img using fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash boot $pathToYourBootIMG\boot.img
4. Reboot

Did you wipe the dalvik cache? (if you didn't, then do so and reboot) If you did, then do a full wipe of data/cache partitions, flash a different rom, wipe dalvik cache and reboot.

See here on how to install the Android SDK: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Howto:_Install_the_Android_SDK. Fastboot is a tool included with it.

Power off
hold volume button down and power on at the same time. It will boot in your phone's "bios"
use volume rocker to go down until fastboot is highlighted, press power to select
You are now in fastboot mode. If you now plug in your usb cable TO A COMPUTER WHERE YOU HAVE YOUR PHONE'S DRIVERS INSTALLED, you will see a line change to usb-mode on your phone. (you can install drivers by installing HTC sync on your pc).
Open a dos prompt window on your computer (start - run - type 'cmd')
Go with the dos prompt to the folder where you have the necesarry SDK-files and your extracted boot.img.
Type the command: fastboot flash boot boot.img
takes around 2 secs.
Reboot
When i press the volume button and power i get a screen with several colors it doesnt give me any options and at the bottom is says serial, when i connect it it changes to USB. My divice is and hd2
Weird, it doesnt look sort of like this? (HTC boot)

If you can get to bootloader and recovery, you're not bricked. You just need to flash a new rom, this time remembering to flash the boot.img in fastboot like the instructions say.

If 'fastboot devices' returns nothing, then you are most likely missing drivers. Easiest way to get drivers is install HTC Sync Manager. It will install the app and the drivers, you can safely uninstall the app later and still have the drivers stay installed

reboot to fastboot, but do not select bootloader (it should say "Fastboot" in red writing just underneath the green text and above the orange text.
connect it via usb to your pc, and it should say "fastboot usb", then you should be able to use fastboot commands. if it doen't allow you to use fastboot commands, try a different usb port, or reinstalling the drivers.

Hmmm, when it rebooted it stopped at the htc screen? This sounds like it's not going to the fastboot mode. Reboot with the volume held down. That should get to the fastboot mode.

Yes , unzip the Rom to your computer , download fast boot folder HTC one xl, copy and paste boot.img from the Rom folder into fastboot folder on desktop. Now full screen fast boot folder and and move mouse pointer off any files and hold left shift and right click in empty spot on folder and choose open cmd prompt here from menu. It should open up cmd console with fastboot adrress. Place phone in fastboot mode on bootloader screen and hookup usb phone to comp. Next in command prompt type fastboot flash boot boot.img and press enter . Disconnect phone and reboot system, allow a few minutes for it to boot ....enjoy here is a Link also for tutorial on fastboot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1752270

I've done it both ways and it doesn't really seem to matter, but it is usually easier to do it before, as it is done in fastboot, and it is easier to get into recovery from fastboot than the other way around.
Where do I go from here?
Flashed the boot img from GUI flash on the preceding rom. Did the wipe and installed from the sd card file I have there with roms listed. Thing went fine. the Cyanogen circle came up and booted to the "updateing apps" that went fine now its stuck on "unfortunately , the process com.android phone has stopped. and ok below that.
What do I do now, I hit ok and the message comes back up. I see Welcome in blue letters behind and set language behind that .

You can follow this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982442 to downgrade your hboot to 1.09, then you wouldn't need to flash boot.img any more. But you have to be very careful. I bricked mine half way through it, but managed to unbrick it finally.

actually you type the command from pc

extract the boot.img from the rom and place it in your adb/fastboot folder
then open a cmd window in that folder and type the command
press enter

i replied in the other thread
Does S-on and S-off matter for this issue?
Hi,
I am facing the same issue, my Sensation z710e is stuck in Cyanogenmod boot logo. following are the details.
bootloader unlocked
s-on
rooted
cwm recovery installed
tried latest CM10 for pyramid devices
I didnt try 'fastboot flash boot boot.img' command yet but i would like to know if s-on matters, my device is already rooted with cwm recovery.
I am having a similar issue as well. I have followed the instructions in this thread [ROM][STABLE][Android 4.4.4] CyanogenMod 11 with 3.0.16 kernel [July 18, 2014]. I have followed all the steps including doing a full wipe, flashed the ROM zip, gapps zip, and the aroma installer for the flash kernel several times with the same result. My screen keeps getting stuck on the white HTC loading screen.
Currently I have restored my phone to my previous ROM using a backup through 4ext recovery (v1.0.0.6 RC2). My HTC Sensation 4G T-mobile is unlocked and rooted with s-on. I have smartflash enabled on 4ext and my ROM is currently stock android 4.0.3. I did search the above mentioned thread for similar issues and a potential solution but none of the things I tried worked.
I would appreciate any help on how to fix this problem. If you need additional information I would be glad to provide it.
Tried another re-install today and everything worked fine, I guess the 5th time is the charm? I still don't know why it didn't work the other times, I did the exact same thing each time.
I am new to htc
i am flashing a custom rom for first time on htc
what do i have to know?
and what is needed?
and i am stuck on soft brick and cant mount internal storage
i am using
hboot 2.15
it shows tampered
and twrp 2.8
Tampered is shown because you probably unlocked your bootloader on the HTC dev site (which is the first thing you should do anyway)
Now, taking in consideration what you said in the Candy thread, can you enter in fastboot mode? You can do this by entering in bootloader (with phone off, keep pressed the vol down and press power). On the bootloader screen navigate with vol up/down and select with power button. Enter fasboot from there and while you connect the phone to pc via USB you should notice on uour screen a line saying "fastboot USB"
After this you shoul be able to flash the kernel in that mode. You should have ADB installed for this on your pc (it is done by installing the Android SDK) and the ADB/fastboot drivers working.
Let us know how it goes so far then we can go further

please my mind is not clear can you give me a link for kernal pleaseee
Kernel that you must flash in fastboot is the file boot.img located in the system folder in the ROM"s zip....that is, you'll have to open the zip you're flashing, go to system and extract that boot.img file. Save it on your pc in the same location where fastboot and adb are installed then open a command prompt there. You can flash it using the "fastboot flash boot boot.img" command
