VSCO Cam for Android - General Questions and Answers

I'm a photographer but sometimes I just like taking nice pics with my phone (sprint LG Optimus G and i have a few attached). My friends with iPhones swear by this app called VSCO cam. The people who made it are makers of photo edited software to give pictures a film look and nice black and white photos. This app isn't available for android but they're looking for an android Dev to help them make it. Does anybody know a Dev who'd be up to it?

I REALLY want to see this app come over soon. As a photographer that is the best application to get the best exposure while separating the focal point selection (something I have not seen on any android device ever.)
I know it is in beta right now but I have not been selected yet for it

Why wait? Qik works fine!
Knowing Samsung, you'll be waiting forever for an official update. Good thing there are some top-notch devs working on porting 2.3.x over right now!

Here's a "stupid, but true" answer: I use the camera app as a mirror to make sure I don't have obvious crumbs or chicken bones stuck in my beard, after lunch, before going back to work. Dumb, but handy. I can turn on the sepia effect and I have a hand mirror that shows me what I look like, right now, in a film-noir piece from 1943.
Nice that it can be used as a "mirror", bummer that it takes pictures like a "mirror". Took a pic of me and my kid holding up an award, but the words are backwards and you cant read the award. I wanted to post the pic to share with family, but grandma couldn't read the certificate my kid was so proud of......

Qik works through its own protocols, only people who have it installed (or similar apps) will be visible in Qik contact list.
Google Talk uses gmail's contact list, and is far more useful to me. Person doesn't have to be in a cellphone to video-chat with me. I can call anyone and have voice or video chat.

yes definately att (and every other us carrier) attempting to control the market value of the phones. they will get out an update as soon as google or samsung steps in and says knock it off, or when a competing popular phone gets 2.3.4
Transformer27, in a utter display of noobieness, I ask you, how do I flip the pic? The best I can find is crop, rotate left/right etc...but no flip. Maybe I'm not ready for a smart phone yet.

If you like Swype it isn't installed.
WiFi calling was missing by there is a zip in the thread.
The only one I haven't been able to work around is bluetooth fc on pairing.
Screen shots don't do it justice as it is how you configure your home screen. But it is quick and I love the animations. No freezes or black screens....
It has the LG Froyo cam, major plus.

I do like this rom, as I have used it before. The wifi calling zip in the thread was actually posted by myself. However, this rom has already been linked to this forum not too long ago and it was already closed. Wouldn't expect this one to stay open too long... If nothing else, I believe they think this would be considered the wrong forum to post this in since it is not your work and this is the Development forum.
I believe the dev for this rom didn't post it on this site for a reason, so it's rude to post it here without their permission. People already know where to grab this rom from if they so choose to.

I don't understand why everyone loves the LG cam. It doesn't have as much options as CM cam and lags a bit more. And of course the FFC is bugged.
Ok, got back to my CM7.1.0.1 now. After a manual reboot, it doesn't go back on again. Weird!!!

Love the theme!
But not the lack of custom features. I require notification toggles at least. There are 3rd party addons in the market to include this feature but they don't work as well as built-in.

Well people who care much more about the quality like the LG cam. The visible differences are extremely noticeable.

LG camera has digital image stabilization that does a very decent job, as far as I have seen, none of the other for sale packages offer this.
I am not talking about a sensor that waits to take the picture when it thinks things are stable, but a computed digital solution.
Moved this to General. Doesn't belong in the Dev forum as it's only a link to another site.
Hey do u know how to get more pics like the one axura has that black and some color chick I just wanted more pics like that

Well if you don't notice a difference, that's no biggie for you though =) but with the cm7 cam, they do not look as detailed or as clear at all. Its most definable when I look at the pictures I took with froyo (or the lg cam port on 3.3) then look at the current pictures. My wife even pointed it out after looking at pictures on the computer. Their are some definite factual differences like fps or resolution when moving, but I can't say the exact terms off the top of my head. Sorry for the late reply.

Share your newly fresh Photo Spheres taken with SGS4!

I decided to start this topic since there was one about home screens (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2244735) and to celebrate the new breakthrough with finally enabling Photo Spheres for SGS4 i9505! (worked before with i9500).
Here's my first try: http://sphereshare.net/#!/s/d474cd663237f8ecd8dd71fce64736ab
I really like the possibilities you can have with this camera feature, although it is kind of hard to take good pictures since the lens must stay in one place and turn around it's (phones) axis.
Happy testing, photographing and posting!

One drawback though, it doesn't focus after you have started filming the sphere. That's why the other side of the pic is in focus while the further down side of the pic is whiter and not that crisp. I wish it auto-focused while taking each frame.

[REQ] OnePlus One Gallery and Camera app

Does anyone know if the OnePlus One gallery and camera app have been pulled (or ported.. Or exist somewhere)? I know it's not even out yet.. And the existing ones are still pending lots of fixes and OTAs.
I would imagine the camera app has lots of dependencies, but haven't seen much discussion about it.
Needless to say, the phone name isn't the best with SEO and takes some creative searching to find relevant results.
The phone has to first be released. Then whoever has it needs to post a system dump here. Once we have that we can start pulling from it. We need the physical device first.

That would be awesome! I completely forgot about the Find 7 doing the 50mp pictures.
Apple just patented taking photos at a larger resolution than the image sensor. They are calling it "super resolution". So it may only exist on iPhones in the future. I'm kind of OK with that as it doesn't provide much. Just take up more storage. It does tone down jpeg artifacting, but if you can take pictures in raw format, or can turn down compression, then it doesn't matter.

[Q] Panorama app

Hi
Hope you won't be mad if the thread is in the wrong section.
I'm looking for a panorama app that's similar to iphone's app.
The only thing I really want is to have a life preview like in the Iphone.
Hope somebody has one.
