I am stock, unrooted razr maxx hd.
My gmail app is getting slower and slower. When I receive a new gmail and click to open it it takes over a second for email to even begin to open. Then the circle comes on spinning slowly. It may then open the email in 10 to 20 seconds or not at all. Then I back out and try again and it usually opens in a second. Why the long wait to open? I have pictures shut off so it isn't waiting for pics to download and it is just as likely to happen in a text only email message.
Does this happen to anyone else? is there a cure OTHER than using another email app? (I prefer to use gmail directly if at all possible)

Try clearing the cache if you haven't already.

Yes I've already cleared the cache in the data

Oh yes! Exacly the same behaviour on Sony Xperia J. It is simply unacceptable.

Really? Even if I'm getting data drops with other apps (Foursquare, Dolphin, etc)?
Give it a shot. U can always reinstall it later.

I can't check this right now, since at work I get no data anyway, but I already installed Fast for FB as an alternate, and ready to test this out. If it works that would be great, the data dropping in killing me.
I did the same thing. I noticed my data crashed repeatedly while in the Facebook app. Uninstalled, created a homescreen shortcut to the website. Works beautifully.
Just did it, and it seems to be much better, thanks. Installed Fast for FB as my FB app.
I don't even have FB installed and had data drops.

Facebook's problems seem to be seperate. That app often will not connect when everything else is still working.

Yeah my data drops are back, it was really bad yesterday. This didn't seem to fix it for me.

Verizon should give us some $$$$ back for their TERRIBLE mobile network service! It was never this bad a year ago.... smh

I have been having issues w/ google data staying connected, I think its the ROM, but I can't find out, cause I need 10 posts, each one has to be 5 minutes aparts. Is this site built by nuclear engineers? Are we solving the worlds problems here, or just android development? Can't tell the difference...
Does anyone get that prob when Facebook is just a plain white page ?

The Facebook App, or the Facebook website through the browser? In my case, I've had an issue with both. I have since given up on the Facebook app all together and just use a bookmark to the Facebook page. Anytime I would get the browser blank-white page, I would force-close the browser app and log back in. Typically would do the trick.
I flashed the new ICS radio and I don't seem to be getting data drops anymore

I was having terrible drops, everytime i opened an app that needed data lately on skyraider. Since going to ICS it's been solid.

After a little while of browsing TheVerge.com, the text becomes all corrupted. Check out the screenshots attached.
Does this happen to anyone else? What the heck is going on??
This is on a Galaxy Nexus with Jelly Bean, stock, rooted.
Does it only occur when you visit that site specifically, or using opera as an entirety?

JUST the verge. Any other website is fine.
But this doesn't happen with the stock ICS browser.
Seems to be purely specific to The Verge and Opera Mobile (unless there are other websites that this occurs on, but I haven't run across any yet)
Sounds like it is just opera then.

Right. I'm wondering if anyone else has ever seen this issue? Or know what could be the cause/fix?
I like using Opera because of some of its features (convenient tab bar on the bottom, the great start page, among others) which I like.
Was gonna try, but my opera keeps force closing XD

This happens on my HTC Evo View 4G (stock Honeycomb) tablet as well, which makes this less of a coincidence...
Does anyone else have issues with Gmail not sending attachments, particularly pictures and videos? I've always had this issue across multiple phones/ROMs/carriers, and it's very frustrating. The only solution I get that works is to reboot my phone. What does that mean?
I've tried over WiFi and mobile internet connection. Both just sit in my outbox until I restart the phone.
Currently on Liquid Smooth 2.8 (official) paired with the latest ktoonz kernel. Latest version of Gmail.
Ideas anyone? Anyone else experience this?

Wow, I'm the only person with this issue?? I thought it would be much more common.
It's very annoying to take adorable videos of my six month old and not be able to send them to anyone reliably.

You're definitely not the only one bud, I've had it happen to me. I gave up on it since I noticed it wasn't working regardless of what I did to Gmail. For me, I realized it would be easier to transfer it to my computer and send rather than to mess around with the Gmail apps limitations. It wasn't pressing enough for me since I don't send files from my phone via email.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
is it only attachments that don't send? if they sit in outbox go into your app list and wipe the data and cache for gmail..I usually have to do it after I restore a ROM..I've sent 10mg byte multiple pics with no problems...

The other day I tried to email myself 8 pics and the message sat in my outbox. I tried rebooting and clearing data/cache nothing worked. I finally got them to send by splitting it into 2 emails with 4 pics each. Maybe a size limitation?
Sooo Google and Motorola released the ApK for touch less control..it installs on my HD..but doesn't create a menu to use...any chance anyone can take a crack at modifying the all to work with our phones? I know open mic+ is available..but the official touch less control would be better

well considering OpenMic+ is employing similar ideas...but with low power usage..it only keeps power to the microphone... The X and Ultra series have the X8 system with a low power core for the microphone. ive opened up the apk file to see whats in it..but im not sure what im looking for.. need to download an XML editor.
Is anyone else having trouble with this app? It was working well for a little bit but now it someone sends me a message I won't receive it till like the next day. I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem.

No problems on my end. It's my primary way of messaging people.

Hmm. Like it'll show me when the other person has seen the message, so I'll be expecting a reply back and it will show them typing and I'll get the message, but other times I won't receive the message for a while, or I have to sign out and then sign back in and it'll be there

I'm using hangouts as my primary and the same thing happens to me. I believe that it may have something to do with my extreme fluctuations in signal type/strength. I go from 4G to edge on a consistent basis b/c I work on a cell restricted location.
I use Hangouts as my primary communication method with my work and I've not had any issues with delayed or undelivered messages on this phone yet. I am on wifi for a majority of the day, but I get my messages when I'm away from wifi as well. I am in an area with pretty strong 4G signal, so perhaps arich2day is correct about there being an issue with jumping from no signal to good signal.
Well, most of the time I'm on Wifi and it still doesn't work right

Since it's a system app I actually haven't tried uninstalling it completely with Titanium Backup or anything. Maybe I'll give that a try
