Everytime i restart my phone, the chines apps are auto installed which is very boring me as those are not useful for me & i tried to remove or delete all the time.
Currently my phone's status as follow.
- Bootloader - Unlocked
- S-on
- TWRV: installed
- OS : 4.1.1
- HTC Sense : 4+
- HTC SDK API Level : 4.64
You know reason why those app are auto installed too?
Thank in advance.
These apps are usually in the /etc/customisations/ folder or else in the /system/customisations/ folder. Delete the apk files using a root explorer)(I prefer ES file explorer). You may also use a system cleanup app from http://com.systemcleanup.inteks.org/ (also available on Google play store) for the same.

You must flash a custom kernel that allows system RW.
The stock kernel doesn't allow that. That's why your apps still appear after a reboot.
These apps are in system/apps if i'm not mistaken.
So which kernel you recomend?

Killx Kernel for X920E here
Thank you and arevu running stock or custom rom ? If custom rim, which one would you recommend or the one with sense 5 ported by Newt?

I am running a X920D custom ROM.
I don't know which custom rom you should run for your X920E.

Unless you own one of the five phones that support Netflix's new Android app, Thursday's announcement was worthless.
But thanks to some clever folks on Reddit, Netflix's petty device restrictions needn't apply. With a rooted Android smartphone, you can trick Netflix into thinking your device is approved for streaming video. It's not a perfect fix -- some users can't get it to work -- but it'll do until Netflix officially brings its app to more Android phones.
The first thing you'll want to do is root your phone. You can look up instructions for specific devices at xda-developers, but keep in mind that rooting is not supported by warranty and could turn the phone into a paperweight.
Still with us? Now, follow the instructions, as posted on Reddit:
1) Download ES File Explorer (Or any other root file editor)
2) In ES File Explorer, go into Setting > Root Settings and enable both check boxes
3) Navigate to /system/ and copy/paste build.prop to /sdcard/ (just in case)
4) Open & edit /system/build.prop
5) Change the following lines to make your phone think it is an HTC G2:
--ro.product.model=HTC Vision
--ro.product.manufacturer=HTC
OR
--ro.product.model=Nexus S
--ro.product.manufacturer=samsung
6) Reboot the phone
7) Install the netflix apk (if you haven't already)
Enjoy
I haven't tried this myself, as my only Android device is a Droid Incredible, which doesn't require extra hoop-jumping. Obviously, you work around Netflix's obstacles at your own risk, but the ability to tinker is one of the reasons you got an Android phone in the first place, right?

Interesting, I've tried searching for the netflix app but couldn't find it on glacier. The author seemed to think you could download it first then do the process. Have you used this method and tried to find the app after changing the build.prop?

The download link for the app is in blue in step 7 of the link.
There are a couple threads already in our themes and apps section...but I'm on Virtuous Fusion and I've tried the HTC Vision build.prop method a few times and it hasn't worked for me...
Edit: Before and after changing the build.prop stuff I would get audio with a white screen

Ditto, exact same situation, exact same rom, sound but only white screen. Just confirming its not just your phone.

I edited the build.prop and used the Nexus S, Samsung build (reboot), but on mine I only get a black screen, audio is working for about 5 to 8 seconds, then it goes back to the movie list.. no FC message... I was thinking maybe this is because I'm using a custom kernel + custom ROM? Are you guys using the stock kernel?... I also have a HTC G2 (supposedly supported), but on that phone I only get an audio and white screen...

Were u using royal Ginger 2.0 or 1.6?
MT4G + CM7 + Faux's BFS LV kernel
2.0 but the official app won't work. You have to us the mod app I posted above.
Can the netflix.apk be modded itself?
inside the apk, there's a folder called "lib" and inside lib, there's a folder called "armeabi"
which lists
libnetflix_device1.so
libnetflix_device2.so
libnetflix_device3.so
libnetflix_device4.so
libnetflix_device5.so
libnetflixmp_jni.so
can a device6.so be added to the apk to add the mytouch?
or maybe one of the given, be edited?

hi man, i'm flashed saga 3d rom. the stock one with root permission and some tweak by proxuser, it's all good, but i can't find the picasa plugin for the gallery. i'm sure that in previous rom i have it installed. nobody knows how install or flash this plugin in a rom with 3.0 sense?
thanks a lot and sorry for my bad english.
I also had problems getting this to install on certain custom roms, so i ended up using Picasa Tool app instead. Its a very good alternative if you can't get any joy with the plugin

Gallery extension should be available in htchub. But I also use another app for picasa pictures. Just Pictures is my "must have" choice.
Yes I'm known, but I can't find it. I tried every way to search it. By the way if any of you have got a apk file of picasa plugin I can try to install it. Thanks

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7466985/com.htc.picasa.apk this version works for me with sense 3. copy it to /data/app/ make also sure owner and permissions are like the other files there and that's it.
It seems to work, but crash. Owner? Permission? I try fix permission. Right?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
how did you install it? with the normal system installer or copied and pasted? you can try to run the fix permission script, but not sure if it catches that
Both mode.
Also with fix permission.bah.

Hi guys just a quick question. I read somewhere that the new att update had fixed the problem with the car dock app. Which was not allowing 3rd party music players like Pandora and slacker. Anyone confirm this ? And if so where can I find the app itself as I am on cleanrom. Thanks

the new car mode app is in the newest cleanrom and yes you can choose a music player.

there are 6 different files including odexes put them in system/app and change permissions. NO idea if these will work or if they require the 2.2x base
It just lets you put shortcuts. Go in the music app and add the shortcuts there, and they will appear in the car dock.

Did you copy them to system app and change the permissions? Also if you are running a deodex rom this won't work.
I think you dont get this in Cleanrom 4.5 lite edition (which is what I am running)
@gunny
you talked about putting it in system/app and changing permissions. Can you post a small howto please..
Use a root enabled file manager like root explorer put the files in /system /app. Then change the permissions on each apk to rw-r-r. and reboot. assuming that I pulled the right files lol.
Thanks,
Works brilliantly. Only the Automotive apk and odex files were needed !!
PS : I am learning new things everyday !! Thanks to XDA !!
Wow that even rhymes !!
Glad to help.
I would LOVE to have this on my Rezound. Can I just move the proper files and permissions to my phone?
I'm on ViperRez 1.0.3 (I think it's based off of a HTC One ROM), it's Android 4.0.3 and Sense 4.0. Would it be compatible?

Yep. Here's the apk I use, no resetting permissions or anything. It does not create a shortcut in the appdrawer however. But the app auto launches when docked.
Crap, can't upload it from phone. Will put it up shortly.
Does anyone have a deodexed version of the updated car app? And is the update JB only or does it work on ICS as well?
Tried to install HTC Stock apk and widget by using followings,
1) adb push command
2) using Root explorer to copy the data in system folder. Also change the permissions but no use.
Can someone help me how to get this app and widget back on my custom Rom(ViperSAGA). Also if any one have apk and other required files then please share.

Is any one there to help me out. I wants to install HTC Stock apk and widget my phone.
Badly needs this app and widget to monitor Stock Market..
Tried all the things which I am capable but still unable to install HTC Stock apk and widget on my Desire S.
Also tried apk files of HTC One X Viper Rom
Can someone guide me to resolve the same? Any serious developer? Help appreciated.
Have you tried reinstalling the rom? I'm sure HTC Stock is included in it?

Yes thrice. Finally Today I succeeded to get the Stock app but still widget is missing
What I did?
1) Changed the lock screen style to "Stock"
2) When phone was unlocked its asked me to update the stock. So I did that
3) And surprisingly now Stock app is reflecting in app drawer but still widget is missing from the list
Also checked in the ROM App file on my PC. But I have not found any apk file related to the Stock widget . Can some one help me for Stock widget?
I can't see any stock widget either. Sorry I can't help you further, as I don't use the stock app. Maybe it's only available as a lockscreen on Sense 4.1
Hi everybody i have installed the stock Panaroid ROM with 4.1. So I wanted to install a non market app of course I have enable non market apps checked but when I want to press install the phone doesn't do anything. Has someone the same problems or has someone a solution for this problem ?
Thanks in advance

You're on stock TMO DE JB, I think?
HTC invented a write protection with that update. It's hard coded into the stock kernel and prevents you from writing anything into the system folder.
All you have to do in this case is to flash a custom kernel for sense. Please look for flar2s elemental or bulletproof kernel in the development section and flash one of them. Bulletproof is as close as possible to stock.
I think thats it. Else write an answer here.
No I've changed to panaroid
