[Q] Possible Brick on Sensation - HTC Sensation

Hey guys, after some flashing my device is stuck in a bootloop. It goes to htc logo, but it doesnt go on from that, it keeps rebooting all the time. I can reboot to bootloader but NOT TO RECOVERY.
Here I show you my sensation details:
-Firmware -3.33-
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT 1.27.1100
RADIO-11.24A.3504.31_M
OpenADSP-v05.6.0.2226.00.0418
eMMC-boot
Jan 13 2012, 17:33:34
I have the original HTC DRIVERS (HTCDriver3.0.0.007) and SUPERCID.
I tried many ways but cant seem to enter recovery, do u think my sensation is bricked? How can I repair it?
Things I've been told to do and dont seem to make any change:
-Install 4Ext in every way possible.
-Install alternative recovery (I tried ClockWorkMod)
-Install last RUU ( I installed RUU_PYRAMID_ICS_HTC_Europe_3.33.401.53_Radio_11.76
A.3504.00U_11.24A.3504.31_M_release_280871_signed)
-Install an old RUU (I installed RUU_Pyramid_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.1_Radio_10.42.9007 .00P_10.11.9007.15_M_release_192608_signed)
Many thanks in advance

It says locked now because I installed the 3.33.40 ruu, I think that's why. It is s-off. The brick was caused by flashing some roms. it was working quite good but sudenly it stopped working and entered the bootloop. Now after flashing this ruu it keeps in the loop.
Thanks for the fast reply btw

do you mean the third option from the second link?
if yes use that pg58img.zip
it doesn't contain firmware only the recovery.img
flash it from bootloader

your device it is not bricked as long as you can enter to the bootloader
so i think it won't help

a bricked device is when it doesn't do anything at all anymore. It won't boot and doesn't respond to anything, even when it's fully charged and wall plugged. the screen will stay permanent black. So there's no point in doing the unbricking project.
Bootloop is generally caused by ROM's that are incomaptible with FW. and as long as you can't enter recovery, the bootloop is not your first concern. once you get recovery up and running you can flash a working ROM
You still can't enter recovery? And where did you download the FW? If you still can't get into recovery I suggest fasboot flashing a 4EXT recovery with the following command in bootloader:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Stuck at HTC Logo

Hello,
a friend of mine gave his phone and asked if I could fix it.
It was stuck on the CM10 screen, So i guessed wrong ROM image. I downloaded viper, cleared the caches, factory reset etc, installed the rom with success, but now it is on the HTC Boot screen.
I found some tutorials to flash the boot.img only but

wont find devices, any idea's?

Try enabling smartflash in 4EXT recovery > tools. yes, only 4EXT has smartflash, so you must install it if you are s-on.
Here's 4EXT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20015407

If the command "adb devices" in command prompt doesn't output anything or outputs device offline, then check android SDK tools and that all the files you need are installed.
Meanwhile, did you try 4EXT recovery with smartflash?
If no, give that a go, it will probably fix your problem (flashing boot image manually is not necessary when you are flashing Roms)

since you are on S-ON you have to flash the boot.img of the rom via fastboot command
or flash 4ext recovery and enable smartflash from it before flashing the rom
as you understand in any case you need sdk tools(adb and fastboot) on your pc

What about those of us that have no USB connectivity, meaning when USB cable is connected, you get no "Fastboot USB" on the bootloader screen?
I'm S-on, so flashing recoveries from the SD card isn't possible.
Try this...

Try following method 2 in this guide( through updating via PG58IMG.zip file) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599816. Be carefule about the md5 checksum of the recovery image. Double check before flashing!!
After this, boot into recovery(from the bootloader menu, select appropriate superuser.zip file(for rooting, search xda ...there are many options) and flash root. You now have a custom recovery and are rooted. Now you can flash any custom rom.
All the above assuming you can somehow transfer files to your SD card through a card reader or any other means...
NOTE: Delete the PG58IMG.zip after flashing recovery.

Still won't work. I have tried flashing stock firmwares, stock and non-stock recoveries, reflashing root.zip, restore from known good backups, nothing has worked. Phone is stuck at first HTC logo screen and will go no further, and with no USB connectivity, it's impossible for me to flash even PG58IMGs' because the phone is S-on.
Maybe this could work for you...just a suggestion

Ok, from your reply i gather that even though you transferred the PG581MG to your SD card, the phone did not update when your got to the bootloader menu. I do not think being S-ON will prevent you from installing from the zip file...but maybe i am wrong. Hey now all i can think is this:
Turn off your phone, remove the battery, wait for some time(~10seconds), then put the battery back in. Now press Power +Vol down switch together. Now at the boot loader menu select Fastboot and press Power button. Connect your phone to your PC now and wait. The check if the next screen shows 'FASTBOOT USB'.
If you get 'FASTBOOT USB' in the next screen, then you have multiple options, but for you i would suggest that you download the latest RUU for the phone depending on your region and cid. Then run the ruu while the device is still in FASTBOOT USB mode. This will restore your phone's firmware recovery and rom back to stock.
But if your phone does not show fastboot usb then i'm stumped dude...maybe the experts here in our sensation community will be able to help out....
All the best ...and report if anything improves...

you did right
don't use smartflash since you are on S-OFF
that means you have 4ext recovery
do this:
format all partitions except sdcard from 4ext
flash the rom
let it boot
don't flash any other kernel

because you are on S-ON you need to flash the boot.img of the rom via fastboot command in order to boot the rom
but i suggest to do that
flash 4ext recovery via fastboot
http://www.4shared.com/zip/WnSyLWMaba/4EXT_Recovery_Touch_v1006_RC3_.html
extract the recovery.img and flash it via fastboot command
after that format all partitions except sdcard from 4ext
enable smartflash from 4ext
flash the rom
done
What is wrong in my steps and how to flash boot.img?
Hello,
I'm in same situation with my Sensation. I'm also new into those stuff, so I cannot be sure what to do.
I also want to install ivanich's CM ROM. Probably, ROM is not booting because of S-ON and probably I have to flash boot.img. I will explain my steps just in case, for you to see if there is a mistake or not.
I unlocked my phone successfully, installed twrp recovery from its website and flashed it to my phone. I transferred "CM12.1" and "gapps 5.1 nano" to SD card. Firstly, I choose wipe option. It fails in sd-ext part, but I don't mind it because I will use this option after installing ROM successfully. I installed ROM and gapps respectively and successfully. But at the end, I reboot the system and HTC logo is stuck. Nothing happens after this moment.
I wanted to flash boot.img from fastboot also, but I can't do that. I can open fastboot menu by pressing volume down and power buttons, but I cannot give a command here. Because my phone is not recognized by my PC in that mode (probably it is because I couldn't check usb debugging anywhere, because there is no working ROM in that phone)
I don't know what to do. Can you help please? Thanks.

Hello again,
I could flash boot.img just now. To do it, I mounted my Sensation with TWRP recovery and my PC could see it as disk drive, but I didn't know how to go fastboot from there. I typed "adb reboot bootloader" in command prompt (like unlocking htc). And I realized that phone could be detected in fastboot mode. And I copied boot.img file to related folder. I typed "fastboot flash boot boot.img". PC transferred boot.img. And I typed "fastboot reboot". And HTC logo was on for about 30 seconds. And TADAAA!!! CM boot animation appeared. It takes about 2-3 minutes to boot. Now it is optimizing apps (I don't know which apps are they). I will update here, if anything interesting happens.
I know it is an old thread. I hope this steps can be beneficial for any of you.
