Hi everybody !
I want to show you an app that we made (a friend and I).
The goal was to make transfers between an Android device and a computer (Pc or Mac) easier. How it works :
you install the app on two devices (or on Pc/Mac with the desktop version)
Then, on Pc and Mac version, drag & drop the content you want to send onto the device you want to send it to (it will be shown on the screen), and it will be transfered automatically !
You can also transfer data by using the share function of your Android device.
Try it, it's awesome.
You don't need to get the ip, don't need to remember a password, and with the full version you can open files remotely !
It works only through Wifi for now, but we have plans to widen the possibilities in future.

We know about the limitation, we're not sure for now if we'll raise it or maybe delete it. It's not very annoying but we'll see if we receive lot of feedback about that.
I keep getting errors when trying to download the app from the store. It's giving me an error "491". Also, the desktop app is only in French. Is there an English version?

For the desktop version, it is translated ! I'll look into this, but for the moment, you can replace filesdnd_fr.qm by filesdnd_en.qm in the folder. Can you tell me what version did you used ? (pc, mac ? installer ? portable ?)
EDIT : if you were on Mac OS X, I reuploaded a version that should work !
Yes, it was probably a bug in the Mac OS X version, I shall now declare it fixed !

It was the PC version. Maybe it was just the first screen. I didn't go any further than that. I will try again. However, I still can't download from the Google Play Store. Other apps are working fine, just not this one. Is there somewhere I can download the apk file?

I checked and there are some strings that aren't translated, sorry for that, there will be an update tonight. For the play store error, try this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1645870
Edit : Glad to hear that ! I'll let you know when the desktop version will be updated, anyway, you can still use it, only two stirngs aren't translated for now, it shoudln't prevent you to use the app (dossier de téléchargement = Download folder, an the central string means "no device visible").

The PC version is definitely in French. I deleted the file above but it's still not working.

Yes you can ! Well there is an option for that but it's a bit buggy (we updated the version of qt and there wsa problem with that), with missing translation, we'll try to fix that for tonight.
Well ok the translation is fixed ! I can't release a new version right now, but look at the first post, you can download an updated translation file that should put the app in english. There will be an update soon. Sorry for the inconvenience, I hope this will not give you a bad feelings about our software.
For the widget on foreground, you can uncheck it in the settings, but it will only works when you'll relaunch the application.
Well here is the full version, it should be in full english this time !
I'd like to remember that our apps is free for use, even if some features are limited for the paid version (in order to retribute the buyers for the contribution).

The latest version with the language issue is fixed. However, I would still like to see an icon or widget on the desktop that you can hide. Can you somehow just create an icon that you can drag files too? I don't like having the widget on top of other programs as it is annoying and too big. If you could make it re sizable, that would be awesome as well.
This is an awesome program and you should really start promoting it more as I was tired of always having to connect my device in order to copy a file to it. I will make some posts on various forums for you to try to get the word out.

We're trying really hard to promote it but we can't spend any money and advertisements is expensive (and in my opinions not efficient). I'm on lots of forums but it doesn't seems to be enough, and blog/news site doesn't seems interested. But we're not down
Anyway, we'll fix the ontop settings this week (it was fixed by someone recently).
We'll try to add resize, it's a good idea, as for the desktop icon ! But for that it will take time because it's a bit difficult to make it that way, but we'll work on that !

Too poor... well that's what you say... I didn't hear TOO POOR but QUITE SIMPLE TO USE
Anyways... check out my version and compare it to the Financisto version (Version 1.3.5).
I do not want to make APPS that looks like other.
Here, with this APP i want to do something pretty simple, no HARDCORE functions.

You know, I've got an idea. Better try to make a credit calculator for credit cards. There should be: total sum of credit, spent sum, annual %, comissions for serving the card (decimal), comissions for serving the account (per cent monthly), minimal monthly payment (fixed sum or percentage counted from spent sum of credit), total sum of debt (including all % and comissions)
I'd like to have such an app and can help in consulting (for Russian banks)

test it @ 240*320 screen res, some apps show very ugly widgets at these screens.
It'll be some kind of "clean" widget you know... Nothing really extravagant

Seems nice project, but I stoped search for a financial app for android, because no one have the future to import accounts from other programs(at least csv or qif format). I already use a fincnce program on pc for 2-3 years now. In windows mobile platform the most of that kind of apps have this ability, so was easy to import my accound, and to sync them with pc's app also. I don't understand why in Android there isn't any. The most of these I tried(around 10) have only csv export. It is so difficult?
I hope and suggest to add this future, I think that is very important for this kind of apps. And also multilanguage support, for correct displaying of non latin characters.
Also a localization of your app would be nice. I could do the greek translation, if you add this future.
Anyway I will try it for sure, but I hope that you will add the above futures, so to can realy use it too.

The new App is called Download Buddy. The app should support any android device 1.6 and above. This app is a combination of 2 different services. The first service will allow you to download any email attachment to your phone whether it is supported or not. It will save the file using the original file name and to the directory of your choice. It has support for using rd party browsers for picking the directory or manually typing it. The second service allows you to download any file type using a link in a email or message or from the web browser, again this will allow you to download the file anywhere you want not just the default folder android normally forces you to. It also comes with a download manager similar to the one the web browser currently uses. Both services will save your last chosen directory as the default to save to until you decide to change it. Both services also include an option to automatically launch and or open the file after downloading it.

That i am not sure of. there are so many out there to try to test on. But technically it should since other browsers are able to catch links. If you find a browser it does not work on let me know and i will see if its possible to add support.

From testing this does work with the Default Browser, the Dolphin Browser, & the Skyfire Browser. It does not work with Opera or xScope because they dont use intents for downloading so unfortunately there is no way to make them work unless you speak to those devs to offer an option like to open link in another browser or something similar.
This works quite well. Just please change the extremely ugly logo text to droid sans and black or something normalish. Also no italics lol.
Looks nice, but what is the advantage of this comparing the downloads directly to your diwnload folder? Why should I pay money for something which is working well already on my phone? Please understand I ask this serioysly, I am not flaming your work here...

There are quite a few advantages.
1) You can download any format file not just the ones that you have pre-installed viewers for. So its a Download Crutch.
2) You can choose any directory to download into not just your download directory.
3) It gives you the option to auto launch the download after it is complete.
4) It gives you the option to download files android would normally try to open in the browser as a text file.
5) It is not just for the browser, It allows you to download any email attachment as well.

first of all let me sa u saved me! all i do is download movies while im n class n watch them later..I just rooted and installed ssx on my DX and this function stopped working. so hey whats 99cents n this solved it man,...but the only thing is that it does not work with my dolphin browser? any ideas y not? but it seems to only be functional w my default browser..any input?
I purchased this app when it first came out and here is my biggest gripe I have:
Even when I visit a web link (a link that goes to a page... not a download) I get a popup asking if I want to use the browser or the app.
If I choose the browser (so that this pop up does not happen everytime I click a link) I no longer get an option to use the Downloadbuddy app. when I actually click a download link.
I then have to reset my browser preferences so that I get asked EVERY time I click on a web page link wether I want to use browser or download buddy.
VERY annoying as I have to touch my screen 2-3 times for every page I open (touch link, choose browser, page opens then choose browser again..... rinse repeat consider uninstalling app but remember that I paid for it so it should work)
If you could fix the app so that it actually only works for DOWNLOAD links, this app would rule.

Which Dolphin browser are you using? I've tested on dolphin HD with no issues. Do u have an example link I can test with? And thanks I'm glad its helping you out.

Sorry for that issue. It should have been fixed in the last update. If its still happening please provide me example links that are doing it and ill fix it right up.

This app is entirely based on Chrome to Phone! It has the same features (and bugs, lol) as the original with some additional cool features! The original app is awesome and it deserves all the credits, this app is only adding more features!
Browser to Phone lets you process incoming links virtually anyway you want it:
* download anything to your phone, instead of just opening the link
* convert file to other formats (i.e. send a bmp link, convert it to jpg and then download it)
* apply wallpapers/ringtones (i.e. send an image link and apply it as wallpaper)
* open specific apps (i.e. send an appbrain link and open android market automatically)
* more and more!
There are plentiful preloaded processes to use. Send suggestions about new processes/commands by e-mail and if feasible, they will be added on the next update!
You may create custom processes for your needs, define when they should run and what they will do. As this is not a simple task, you may search the web for custom processes done by other users and import them.

How does the REPEAT command work exactly?

REPEAT has three parameters: regex, count, wait
The purpose of this command is to REPEAT the next command until the REGEX is returned. It will repeat COUNT times with a WAIT seconds interval between them.

Yes, Im getting this message on Android app. I have just tried to uninstall Chrome to phone app and nothing changed. Even worse I have installed it back and now I can not connect on the official app too lol.

Unfortunatelly not. The official app works again yet yours says the error while connecting. Im running Cognition ROM on Samsung GS2 if it helps.

I just tested again and both apps connect successfully!
There isn't any difference at all between the two apps during the connection. The only difference on Browser To Phone is that it processes links after they are received on the phone, nothing else!

- how could I make simple process to parse clipboards content sent from my web browser?
- where are the files (such jpg, gif etc) downloaded? I can not seem to find them on the phone
- please, how to process the apk download? I have created the process, yet I would like to start the instalation as soon as its downloaded? any hints for the needed intent?

This APK process should be similar to "Image to Wallpaper"!
Ok to the point 4. If i do not know the exact name of downloading apk, what should i use for data in the intent? Any replace or variable trick?

The input will always be concatenated on the DATA field. So you probably don't need to do anything!
The input will be the output of the previous command. If the previous command is a HTTP_DOWNLOAD, the output will be where the file was downloaded. After that you should replace /mnt by file:// (check the Image to Wallpaper process)
Did you notice the unit test feature? (menu)
You can easily test without having to actually send the link to the phone. You setup a unit test link (http://www........./yourapp.apk) and you can long press each command to test it!

I may have another question
When downloading img from Chrome I always get the img downloaded as xxxx.jpg(125x210) which stands for the img size. Well when I look at the Chrome tab I see it in the title. Unfortunatelly it is downloaded and named as above so that to open the downloaded img I have to rename it first.
Any hint for replace or solution would be great.

Edit: I have found a bug. When sending any text it has a wrong encoding. I use special chars such ěřč yet they come to phones clipboard as mess.

I think I will have to update the app to remove the dimensions...
For now you could create a REPLACE, something like this (i didnt test it):

How it works?
Rotary Feed :
It creates a feed by using what you have enabled in settings.
It gets the information from various sources and creates timeline for you.
I've named the timeline logic as Awesome Logic.
Rotary App Chooser :
It works by using app importance logic.If you are using the application too much, then move it to first page by holding app and dragging onto "+".
if you don't use that much, hold & drag onto "-"

Rotary Home Tutorial
1- Touch and hold to center to see all the pages, and while holding, slide onto the page you wanted to see.
2- Slide the clock below to up, to see Feed.
3- The Icon with 3 lines on left top, shows the details of weather.Touch to see details.
4-Touch and hold onto apps , to see options about chosen app.
These options are "+" to increase app's importance and moves to first page. "-" button does otherwise . And uninstall button deletes the app from device.
5-You can save articles for reading later by using the save button which is inside of News Reading screen.
You can see the saved articles by using the button at left bottom on your feed.
If you want to remove saved article, touch and hold onto it, and the dialog will be opened, then you can choose whether remove it from saved articles or not.
6-All the other details and options in settings which you can access by touching right top button on RotaryHome screen.

Hey, i got the error report now from Google. :good:
I started working on it, and that error may be temporary(you can try relaunch), in short it's because of google play services related background process of RotaryHome.
However, if i can get some information about where the force close happened, it can help me to fix the bug.

Weird... I first downloading app on playstore, it downloaded perfectly. Then, I thought crashes were fix by downloading the APK, but no... Wait for the dev'!

it's compatible with 5.1.x, and i'm using it on my device at the moment. I'm not really sure about why it prevents you to install, as soon as i get the statistics from google, i'll look what can i do.
M9 is currently looks like in supported devices list.
And i don't have an option to block countries, so you should be able to install in Germany.

How to use

Hey guys, I'm updating NetSend File Transfer soon, so I would like to hear from you if you have any requests or suggestions for the next version? Also the PC program is in the works and should be out soon!
I think you need to spam your app because it's good but only 5 person download it and i'm one of this five person (sorry for OT suggestion)
An other suggestion is to add more language because i understand english but here in Italy 80% of person want italian language or they don't install the app.. If you want i can try to help you with translate (but i'm not a developer of app i only made game with game maker or app for windows with visuale basic) and i can translate word in true italian not in "no sense language" like google translate so if you want i'm here (i'm a student so i've not a lot of free time but i want to help you).. Best things for now :thumbup:

I've always looked for an app like this!
The code thing is a little annoying when sending files to more than one device. Maybe you should include a qr-code to scan and save the device as 'known' or 'safe'.

I tested the app with all kind of files and file sizes. Everything worked and not a single file was corrupted. ?
Just received the update via play store. Thanks for adding QR Code but I needed some to figure out how to show the code.
I think it would be better to show the qr icon next to the code.
Or even better if you would move it into the slide out menu. There you could place/ list the favorites or the last connected devices (ability to add custom names for each device).
After sending bigger files (videos) I noticed that sending takes a while. Perhaps you could think about adding an optional compressing and after receiving automatic decompressing in future releases.
I can help translate the app into german.
