Ok, so i bought the Moga Pro in the hopes of finally being able to play games without the frustration of using the screen. I downloaded the universal driver and it seems wonky on my One X, it either sometimes connects, somtimes says its searching, sometimes it says searching but pivot it running and MOST of the time it starts lagging the living crap out of my phone to the point i have to restart it, it makes everything on my home just either restart the launcher or take forever to load the icons.. i am not rooted since there is not method to root 3.18 on windows yet. Any ideas on how to stop this :/

never used the moga. PS3 controller + sixaxis works perfectly.
There's command line for windows in the 3.18 root thread somewhere and even if there wasn't, it takes little time to create a bootable linux usb stick to root with. I even wrote a guide.
My advice: return moga, root, use sixaxis + ps3 controller.

Hi,
I'm wondering if I'll be able to use the Sixaxis Controller app with the One S. Anyone know if this works?
It says it requires root access and even then it depends on the kernel. Is there a stock rom out there that has root?
Mine is supposed to be delivered today.
Thanks,
~Eric
Don't know about One S rooting, but try the compatibility test before buying.
I sent this from my Motorola Atrix on MOTOBLURâ„¢.
I already bought it. Works like a charm on my G2 with CM7
I actually tried this recently. Bumping this older post to see if anyone has any experience with this on the boards, dying for help.
Ok, so step 1, installed compatibility checker, test confirmed compatibility
step 2, installed pair tool on pc and set master address of ps3 controller to local bt address on htc one s
step 3 ran sixaxis app, start, searching for devices...
pres ps button on controller, no worky, lol.
No flashing pair lights or anything. Only flashes all four lights when connected to usb to pc.
running cm10 nightly with stock cm10 kernel
hey guys,
thought id share that splashtop 2 now supports controllers, mainly the xbox 360 controller but ive been testing with a ps3 controller (bluetooth) and it works surprisingly well, the ps3 controller seems to have an issue with deadzone with the analog sticks (ive contacted suppot) but other than that latency is low and very playable, ive been testing it on a 801.11n 2.5ghz network about 20+ meters away from my router and it was still playable.
To enable controller support, you need to install a driver,
open cmd with admin permissions an run cd "c:\Program Files (x86)\Splashtop\Splashtop Remote\Server\GamePad" then install_driver64.bat (or install_driver.bat for 32bit e.g.)
Restart splashtop and it should work, still the fullscreen game limitation but most games support borderless and/or windowed mode.
Enjoy

I'm having a little trouble with this. I've seen a few other people online with the same problem, just no answers yet. I did everything just as you said there, just as the splashtop website says, that is. I had it say "echo off" and then a few seconds later, windows asked me if I wanted to install the driver. So I did, it installed, and I restarted splashtop. I even restarted my pc, when that failed. Either way, when I plug my Xbox 360 Controller for Windows into the usb of the dock of my ASUS tf300t, it just blinks the green circle and the only control I have is the left analog, and maybe like one other button. Any ideas?

Hmm are you using a custom rom? with my tests i used a ps3 controller and sixaxis app to access it, also does this happen on native android games? try recreate a driver using usb/bt control app

No custom rom. I do not have the tablet rooted at all, which disables me from being able to use the sixaxis app to test my ps3 controller or the usb/bt app. However, you are correct, both the PS3 controller and the Xbox360 controller for windows work perfectly on native android apps like GTA:Vice City and various emulators. So I guess that just leaves Splashtop. I'm nearly 100% certain that the Splashtop software the tf300t comes pre-loaded with is Splashtop 2. But I could be wrong.

Yeah, I did that too. lol. Still no go. I then went back and uninstalled and reinstalled all the software. Still no go. I was now thinking I'm just going to have to use a ps3 controller connected wirelessly to my pc upstairs, but that would require me spending another 15 bucks on a bluetooth usb adapter. I don't want to do that. lol.

Maybe time to switch to CromiX and try? im actually surprised there are people who haven't yet its far...far better than the laggy stock firmware
Has anyone been able to connect a ps3 controller via usb to play games? My old phone worked out of the box. My tablet did not, and I had to root it and use the Sixaxis app. I would prefer not to root this thing yet until there is more information about root.
More info? Root is root. It's not going to make your phone explode..

U WOT M8?
I connected my ps3 controller via a usb OTG cable, and nothing. Doesn't work in or out of any games. And what I mean by I want to wait is, I just want to wait and see if anyone has any problems, or if people are getting bricked at all. Plus I would like to wait until the first firmware update from Verizon. I know there are a few features that it will update, and I'd rather just have the carrier update do it rather than rooting and flashing a rom update. And also, the Sixaxis app with root is still pretty buggy on my old phone and my tablet. I would prefer just to connect with the usb cable if it's possible.
Yeah I wasn't able to get my PS3 controller working using an OTG cable either. I used to be able to use my controller on my S3 and S4 via OTG cable OR Bluetooth. I had it paired to my S4 last. I just downloaded Sixaxis pair tool, and Sixaxis controller app and reprogrammed the controller's master address to my M8, fired up Sixaxis controller and it pair right up no problem. Now I'm playing my Emulators on my M8. Yay. Now I just need a GameKlip for the M8..
I imagine that if you didn't want to S-OFF and all that you could just use the Weaksauce temp-root method to use Sixaxis controller and pair your M8 with bluetooth. Then if you wanted to use the contoller to play games all you would have to do is install weaksauce real quick, fire up root, and use Sixaxis. That would probably work pretty nicely. Just a thought.
Why are you so afraid of root? Nothing is going to happen...
This maybe old but i would like to know if there is a non root way. doesn't bother me to root. however I'd like to know if there is an easy path once rooted upgrade only root.. I'd like to be on latest versions of whatever kernel i choose but have to avoid having to backup all my apps, remove root and reinstall root, reinstall all my apps again. what a hassle.
Hi all,
Not sure whether everyone knows this yet or not, but in one of the recent PS4 firmware updates it added a pairing function to the DS4 controller so it could be wirelessly paired with a Playstation 3 as well.. Turns it out also works with Android too (I've tested with my N7 2013 and N5, both running PAC rom 4.4.4) and it works straight away WITHOUT the need of a third-party app
- When the DS4 is off, press and hold the Share button and the PS Button and it enters pairing mode
- Search for bluetooth devices with your phone/tablet and it should come up straight away as Wireless Controller
Just thought i'd post this incase anyone didn't know about it and wanted to try it out on their device too and see if it works :good:

I'm trying to pair my DS4 and rooted (but otherwise stock) N5 but it doesn't seem to work. I put the DS4 in discoverable mode (Share + PS buttons) and"Wireless Controller" shows up in the list of available devices, but when I try to pair them it just sits there "Pairing..." forever. It's been at it for almost 10 minutes now and nothing's happening. I tried restarting the phone and waiting like 20 minutes for the controller to restart but I've run out of ideas. Any suggestions?

I'm having exactly the same problem @Farlo1.
I did read somewhere that the early DS4s don't work using this method.
But those released after a certain date do.
I've got 2 DS4s but they're both from launch, so neither of them is working with this. The only way I've seen to use the DS4 is to invest in a cable, which I don't really want to do...
Let me know if you spot anything different!
Hey, I had my DS4 working flawlessly in my z3 compact, but since I have a GS5, the mapping is all screwy. I tried installing sixaxis and it just added a massive 1+ second lag, with only part of the button press registering, and then it goes all crazy and scrolls everywhere. This gets even worse in PPSSPP, where as soon as I touch the analogue stick it goes haywire... but it was flawless with my z3!
Anyone know anything about this?
doesn't work for playing
I connected everything and started ninjumb dash(game) but the controller(ps4)didn't turn the colour blue and it is not working
pls tell me what to do next

if u have ps4 ,remove socket of your ps4(otherwise when u press ps4 button it will turn on and automatically connect your controller)
and then press(ps4+share) to turn on Bluetooth(ds4)and search in Bluetooth and connect(wireless controller.
same problem

but i'm suffering with this exactly problem!!!
tested with a galaxy s7 edge and a nexus 5.
any workaround? fix?
Hi my DS4 connect to my phone normally but it works little bit slow and I don't know why ?
I know this is a really old post. Never mind. I am able to connect DS4 to my Android phone (using share and PS button), and play games (such as Final Fantasy from the play store), however the buttons are not configured correctly (X is cancel, O is confirm!). Is there any app that will remap the buttons. I have used Sixaxis for the PS3 controller, but would prefer to use the DS4. However each time you switch to Android gaming and PS4 gaming you need to reconnect the controller to each device with OTG cable which is a pain . I have tried Tincore app, but cannot get it to work as don't know how it works!

I was surprised at how easy this was, but yes seems to have some input lag,
I found this on reddit
"Now after about 30sec, and for some unknown reason, you will run into input lag. To fix this you will need to download an app called Bluetooth Auto Connect. Once installed goto Advanced Options - Connect Now. Once you push Connect Now the input lag should be gone."
I haven't had a chance to try this yet but seems promising
Ds4 controller syncs fine to my LG Aristo but it doesn't actually control ****, any game that uses a controller does not see the Ds4. I can use my ds3 with the sixaxis app but I can't do a thing with this Ds4.
I have a nVidia Shield that I upgraded to 5.0 'Lollipop' and it's not rooted. When I plug in my PS3 controller via USB it works flawlessly - every button works perfectly without using any sort of joystick application (apk). So anyone that wants to use their PS3 controller on the nVidia Shield just plug it in and you're golden.
The issue is when I unplug it I can't get it to work. The tablet won't see the PS3 controller at all until I used the SixaxisPairTool (SixaxisPairToolSetup-0.3.0) to pair it. Now when I turn bluetooth on the tablet sees it, but it's asking for the PAIR PIN which isn't the default 0000 or 1234. Does anyone know how to find the PIN so I can pair it or another way to go about doing this?
I think the tablet has to be rooted in order for the sixaxispairtool to really function correctly. I am also running unrooted. And decided to just get a $20 nyko play pad pro. Can't bring myself to spend $60 on a controller I'm not sure I will use that often.

I've read reports that the Sixaxis Controller APK (root required) program doesn't work on Lollipop. I won't root my tablet nor have I even found a method to root an already updated version (the only method I found to root the nVidia Shield w/Lollipop is to unlock the boot loader before upgrading to Lollipop). As far as I know the SixaxisPairTool by itself simply pairs the controller with the tablet so the tablet can communicate with it - which it does, but requires the PIN to function correctly. Someone must know how to figure out the PIN required.

Sixaxis works fine on lollipop. The screenshots of it in the google play store are lollipop. Yes you need root to use it. I used my pc to pair the controller with the shield then run the app to connect to it wirelessly.
Also you can root lollipop after upgrading but have to unlock to do so.

Well, I read reports that Lollipop breaks the Sixaxis Controller app (unless it's been updated) and the rooting guides on this forum say you have to already have unlocked the boot loader before upgrading to Lollipop to root it. It really doesn't matter because I'm not going to void the warranty, but I really wish I knew how to find the PIN for the sixaxis controller. My searches also find people that would like to know how to find the bluetooth pairing PIN too.

Sorry for being OT, but you can root after the update. But you have to unlock the bootloader if you updated. You misunderstood what you read. You don't have to unlock the bootloader if you rooted and had recovery before updating. And I believe I just read that unlocking the bootloader does not void the warranty (somebody got that answer from Nvidia customer support, and the unlock instructions are on nvidias site).
Just being informative, sadly my USB otg cable is awful and I probably can't get it to connect to my tab.

I understand that. I was just clearing up misinformation. Also, have you used the sixaxis pair tool on a pc? It had been some time since I went through the process, but I believe you get the pin on there. Either way, you need to connect it to a pc at least once last I checked.

The only way the tablet will even see the PS3 gamepad (wirelessly) is to use the sixaxis pairing tool and it doesn't give the PIN.
Recently picked up a shield tablet, rooted with king root after doing all updates to lollipop. Used six axis controller and Dual Shock PS3 controller to connect via OTA and USB which works fine but cannot connect via Bluetooth. Both 0000 and 1234 do not really on successful connection. Hoping someone can help with this matter. I'll keep searching the forums. Thanks in advance
